The Joan Walsh Evolution: Wall Flower to Shrill Hag To Spartan Fascist

Be nice to homely girls, always; for if you do not, they may become dangerous.

In another attempt to define normal people as dysfunctional and Republican candidates as what they are,  spineless dummies, Joan Walsh has mapped out her personal journey from porky wall-flower to Spartan Fascist -

Joan Walsh, the poor door full of woman, not only demands women abort a child to feel fresh, but now has gone full Spartan.

Parents own kids.  Most cultures hold that to be true and self-evident.

The Spartans, as goofy a gang of homoerotic zenophobes as ever raped a helot, did not believe that chldren belonged with their parenst; neither, did Plato; neither did The Utopians; neither did Hitler nor did Hooky Sanger and Planned Parenthood Movement of America.

Joan Walsh must have been treated very badly by my male contempraries at whatever sock-hops, dances or socials Miss Walsh hugged a wall.  Hurt can lead to bitterness and bitterness to savagery - Spartan savagery.

The Spartan family was quite different from that of other Ancient Greek city-states. The word "spartan" has come down to us to describe self-denial and simplicity. This is what Spartan life was all about. Children were children of the state more than of their parents. They were raised to be soldiers, loyal to the state, strong and self-disciplined.
It began in infancy. When a Spartan baby was born, soldiers came to the house and examined it carefully to determine its strength. The baby was bathed in wine rather than water, to see its reaction. If a baby was weak, the Spartans exposed it on the hillside or took it away to become a slave (helot). Infanticide was common in ancient cultures, but the Spartans were particularly picky about their children. It was not just a matter of the family, the city-state decided the fate of the child. Nurses had the primary care of the baby and did not coddle it.Soldiers took the boys from their mothers at age 7, housed them in a dormitory with other boys and trained them as soldiers. The mother's softening influence was considered detrimental to a boy's education. The boys endured harsh physical discipline and deprivation to make them strong. The marched without shoes and went without food. They learned to fight, endure pain and survive through their wits. The older boys willingly participated in beating the younger boys to toughen them. Self-denial, simplicity, the warrior code, and loyalty to the city-state governed their lives.Spartan children were taught stories of courage and fortitude. One favorite story was about a boy who followed the Spartan code. He captured a live fox and intended to eat it. Although boys were encouraged to scrounge for food, they were punished if caught. The boy noticed some Spartan soldiers coming, and hid the fox beneath his shirt. When the soldiers confronted him, he allowed the fox to chew into his stomach rather than confess, and showed no sign of pain in his body or face. This was the Spartan way.At the age of 20 or so, they had to pass a rigorous test to graduate and become full citizens. Only the soldiers were received the aristocratic citizenship. If they failed their tests they never became citizens, but became perioeci, the middle class. So to some extent class was based on merit rather than birth.

The Spartans hated eveyone - not just Darius' Persians.Haters gonna Hate.  Joan Walsh is full-Spartan: cool with infanticide, hates everyone not herself.

Thus, the damage done to life's unplucked flowers - the nunnery, or Spatan fascism.

Man and child, it is a bitter thing to witness what happens when a girl can go from walllower to harpy.  Spartan, almost

Joan Walsh and Sun Times on Frederick Douglass and Irish Catholics - Wrong Again!

William Lloyd Garrison wanted -

"the political support of the Irish peasantry in their home country, but only as a means to affect the attitudes of Irish immigrants towards the black population in America. O’Connell and the Irish were only beneficial to the Abolitionist movement as long as they remained an impoverished people, yet when they gained economic and class status, they were quick to dispense with their support for Garrisonian Disunionism and the American anti slavery cause. "
Christopher Allan Black

“No people on the face of the earth have been more relentlessly persecuted and oppressed on account of race and religion, than the Irish people. But in Ireland, persecution has at last reached a point where it reacts terribly upon her persecutors. England today is reaping the bitter consequences of her own injustice and oppression. . . . Fellow citizens! We want no Black Ireland in America.”
Of course, one could argue that we in fact have what Douglass would have called a “Black Ireland in America,” given the persistence of poverty and oppression for African-Americans. It would probably not be surprising for the abolitionist to discover that some of the loudest voices denying the persistence of racism belong to guys named O’Reilly and Hannity and Lynch. Joan Walsh

Joan Walsh is the editor of Salon, a ubiquitous MSNBC blabber, an educated Irish American Feminist who shills for the abortion industry and someone who reads little and understands less. She reminds me of that Pulitzer Prize winning reporter for the Baltimore Sun on the great television series The Wire - someone who goes for the 'Dickensian Aspect,' in all things, while ignoring the facts.

Nowhere in Joan Walsh's attempt to be a profound analyist can be found the phrase " Garrisonian Disunionism."

Outside of seriously written historical tomes, the attempt by abolitionist grifter, opinion maker and the George Soros of the 19th Century, William Lloyd Garrison's attempt to pull the American union of States apart is rarely memtioned and altogether Un-Googleable.  William Lloyd Garrison, like the Beechers, Jane Addams, W.E.B. Dubois, Margaret Sanger and other Progressive icons have had their sins laundered by the academics, textbook publishing houses and the political media.

That does not put a stop to the relentless scab-yanking of unctious dummies like Joan Walsh and they should stick to their time-honored templates.

Keep it simple, Joan;  make it all about skin and nothing else matters. Instead Joan Walsh tries for intellectual parallel graviats . . .and fails miserably.

Garrison was not only the publisher of The Liberator, America's leading abolitionist and nativist rag, but also the very first Confederate. He was a sessionist, before Kansas Nebraska Act of 1854. Garrison sought Disunion - the northern brand of session.

Joan Walsh ignores, or perhaps has never heard of Garrisonian Disunion. Instead she makes the PC but very lame claim that Frederick Douglas "was a leader of global human rights In today’s parlance, this might sound like the ultimate version of white-centered discourse." Was he the Nelson Mandela, Tupac Shakur, or Michael Eric Dyson of the 19th Century? Nope he was a man of great spirit and heart who was being used by William Lloyd Garrison to enlist the support of Ireland's Martin Luther King - Daniel "The Liberator" O'Connell to instruct Irish peasants who escaped to America that Garrisonian Disunionism was just the ticket.

'The supporters of Garrisonian Disunionism believed that the Irish immigrant population held the key to whether or not union with slaveholders would be abolished.
O’Connell’s first address to an American audi-ence occurred on January 28, 1842 at Faneuil Hall in Boston. While the purpose of the meeting was to advocate for the Abolition of slavery in the District of Columbia, the Abolitionists made a concerted effort to advertise the event to a predominantly Irish audience by posting handbills in immigrant neighborhoods and promoting the speech in The Boston Pilot the Catholic paper. While O’Connell’s speech attracted several thousand Irish from Boston and the
surrounding area, it did not have the desired effect that Garrison hoped it would have. On February 5, 1842, ThePilot warned against drawing close connections between the Irish Repeal movement and Garrisonian Disunionism. The Catholic press warned that Abolition would lead to the dissolution of the Union and that the disunionist movement itself “was a British plot to weaken the United States” (Ignatiev 13). The Catholic media argued that if the Irish American community supported the Abolitionist movementthat it would result in greater economic competition and ethnic discrimination among emancipated blacks and working class Irish laborers.
The editors of The Pilot claimed that if IrishAmericans endorsed Disunionism they ran the risk of putting themselves back into the subservient minority position they experienced in their native country. As a result, Douglass and Garrison strategically employed O’Connell as a respected authority to counteract this type of
divisive rhetoric that existed within the Irish American community." Black

Joan Walsh wants American Catholics, Irish American Catholics in particular, to get on the side of the angels - the far left crowd of white-guilt neo-Garrisons like herself.
In the 19th Century, the Irish and black slaves were used by William Lloyd Garrison, a top-ranked historical creep if ever there was one, to destroy the Union and make Garrison a power-player.
Their scions are just as confused and used by the Sharptons, the Dysons, the Walshs and the Lynchs ( I still can't figure that one out. Bill O'Reilly and Hannity, I get - Joan hates them because they have larger audiences). Lynch? Racial buzz-word and Celtic synonym?
Anyway. Joan Walsh and the editors of the Sun Times, who re-printed Walsh's blarney and bamboozle, are wrong again. New Year and the same old, same old.
Racism worked for creeps like Garrison and it pays handsomely for creeps like Sharpton et al.

'Just Playin' - My Salon-ic Leap to a Conclusion in Boston Blast

In the hoary halls of my beloved Leo High School, one is likely to hear laughter, loud-talking, shouts of greeting and at times the sound of the scuffle.  They are adolescent males.  Rarely is there an actual fight, as they guys get along with one another very well.  What might sound like a fight ends up being 'Just Playin'"

Just Playin' is the 21st Century euphemism for 'kidding on the square.'  Taunts, fake fighting and such constitute 'Just Playin!'

" Well knock it off, gents, I had get my fat ass out of the chair, climb the stairs and evaluate the hubhub," I tend to admonish.

"Sorry, Hickey"

Just Playin' is also weasel word for " I insult you in the name of journalism, art or entertainment and you may not object."

Okay.

Salon is a way cool site.  It is edited by Sr. Joan Walsh, PPA, the abortion nun who appears on MSNBC with epic nit-wit Chris Matthews.  They are two former Irish Catholic school kids who shed the Holy Cards for Planned Parenthood, ACLU, SLPC, DNC and GE VIP Gold Cards.

Salon is the quality and moral equivalent of The Nation (William Lloyd Garrison's anti-immigrant and radical reconstruction playbill) For Dummies.  Salon is edgier and hipper and appeals to the arm-chair thinkers of Manhattan, Cape Cod and Hollywood who like their intellectual digests morsel sized as opposed to the lengthier and more esoteric The Nation.

Salon is pretentious and handy.

Immediately after the Boston Marathon terror attack, Salonista David Sirota, who has long campaigned for a national White Man Profiling Department of Homeland Security, prayed to Roger Baldwin and Jane Addams to interceded for us with Rev. Wilberforce that an epidermis of paler hue be perp-walked.

“White privilege is knowing that even if the bomber turns out to be white, no one will call for your group to be profiled as terrorists as a result, subjected to special screening or threatened with deportation,” writes author Tim Wise. “White privilege is knowing that if this bomber turns out to be white, the United States government will not bomb whatever corn field or mountain town or stale suburb from which said bomber came, just to ensure that others like him or her don’t get any ideas. And if he turns out to be a member of the Irish Republican Army we won’t bomb Dublin. And if he’s an Italian-American Catholic we won’t bomb the Vatican.”

Daaaaaaaaave, chill. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D,CA) is a trunk-stuffer and I am quite sure that she would have absloutely no problem droning St. Peter's Dome. MSNBC"S Larry O'Donnell, the Mad 'Hoor of an MSNBC Peacock, would not be above the C-4-ing of the odd Knights of Columbus Hall.

Being WHITE don't make it Right.  Shucks, God Father's Pizza and all?

The bomber fits the profile of a person who would be willing to set bombs at a hard, or soft target crowded with people he, or she, or they do not know, or care a fig about. Could be an Arab. Could be a Dutchman, Could be a gent from a cargo-cult of hills of Papua New Guinea.

The cops will get the bad guys - plural or singular.

I am concerned that the bomber might prove to be a disgruntled media dweeb.

Consider.  CNN just fired Soledad O'Brien and what a diversity package she is!  Not only that CNN cashiered the chocolate Poppin' Fresh of Black Liberation Journalism, the doughy WEB DUBOIS his own bad self, . . .  Roland S. Martin!

Since joining the millions of Americans on Unemployment, Soledad and Roland S.  are in constant communication - track this twitter for the codes, Maties

They ain't  happy.  Consider their positions.  They are out of the news; why not make history?

Who runs Marathons?  Thousands of pale, health conscious, affluent Whities of both genders.

Who wins Marathons?  Kenyans.

Set the bomb at the finish hours after the Kenyan, Solamalian, Ethiopian and Ghanan brothers and sisters have toweled off and hit the pasta bar. Target rich environment.  Then set off the next one and watch all of the affluent Honkies Loot the Marathon Swag Bags!

Abortion Nutty Nun-Skull Joan Walsh Whacks Her Ruler on Billy Daley's Noggin

Sr. Joan would sicken a mad dog raised on a diet of barbed wire and broken beer bottles - Lawd, Ha' Mercy!

Nothing is more repulsive than a thick ankled old Irish Harpy with all of the worst and not one of the positive aspects of a caricature Nun. Joan Walsh, editor of Salon and MSNBC Whack-job goes off on White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley. Joan Walsh would have made a splendid goof-ball nun, doing liturgical dance, and helping Planned Parenthood kill more kids.

Sister Joan hates arrogance and puffery so much in people who think that they have the salt to stand in Barack Obama's shadow.

Truth to tell, young Barry Obama would have cashed in his future Nobel Prize just to get in the same elevator as Bill Daley in 1995, when he was tagging along with Billy Boy Ayers at the Woods Fund.

Bill Daley gets cracked in Cankle's review of Roger Simon's Politico interview with the Chief of Staff. Simon was a laughable entity years ago in Chicago a

President Light Weight is bullet-proof, because of Harpy's like Walsh and the Mules of MSNBC.

Sr. Joan gives Billy the Full Bush -

My favorite part comes when Simon asks Daley how the White House keeps politics and policy separate. “They can be separate, yeah,” Daley says. “You can say, ‘Look, this may be good policy, but the politics of it may be shitty.” Simon asks which Obama will go for, and Daley’s answer may well find its way into a 2012 GOP ad. “He’ll try to find that middle ground,” Daley says. “How close can we get to it being really shitty policy or really shitty politics but getting something accomplished?’” (For the record, Politico used dashes to denote the dirty words, but I think the quote is most honest if rendered the way Daley said it.)

That’s a deeply stupid remark, but Simon plays it straight; in fact, the profile comes off as worshipful. The Politico veteran relates that Daley used to keep an old “Help Wanted: No Irish Need Apply” sign in his Chicago law office, as a typical Daley reminder, in Simon’s words, “of where they came from and how far they have gotten.” Oh please. Sure, generations back Daley is said to be descended from famine Irish, but where Bill Daley came from is a place of privilege: He is the son of perhaps the most powerful mayor in America.

Daley is a Democratic version of George H.W. Bush as described by the late Ann Richards: someone born on third base who thinks he hit a triple. He used his family background and political connections to take part in today’s quintessential Democratic get-rich-quick scheme, corporate law and investment banking. It’s always shocked me how a certain type of affluent Irish Catholic can excuse his work on behalf of the wealthy as long as he has a “No Irish Need Apply” sign in his office, which puts him on the side of the underdogs. Daley is an overdog who represents the interests of overdogs.

Essay - Quam Videri: Spy Wednesday & Judas and Judy Outrage on MSNBC & the Progressive Media

``Where the Bishop is, there let the multitude of believers be;
even as where Jesus is, there is the Catholic Church'' Ignatius of Antioch, 1st c. A.D

I went to Catholic grammar school for eight years; attended a Minor Seminary ( St. Augustine's in Holland Michigan) for three years; graduated from a Catholic neighborhood high school ( Little Flower at 78th & Honore); took my Bachelor of Arts at Loyola University; taught at a Catholic high school ( Bishop McNamara in Kankakee); received my Master of Arts at Loyola University; taught and coached at a Catholic boarding school ( LaLumiere School in LaPorte, IN); worked in development at two Catholic high schools ( Bishop Noll Institute & Leo High School) and never once personally encountered or witnessed clergy sexual abuse.

While in the Minor Seminary at Holland, MI run by the great Augustinian priests and brothers I slept in two- tiered bunks in a barracks-like dormitory with forty of my classmates and a priest occupied an adjacent room. Nothing.

At Bishop McNamara, one student, among the many hundreds of boys and girls with whom I had daily contact, reported to me and several of my male colleagues about sexual abuse by a priest in in the rectory of St. George's parish six miles from Kankakee. We reported the abuse to our Principal Father Ken Yarno.

Father Yarno, a graduate of Bishop Mac and varsity football star on the fighting Irish, took direct, immediate and very public action. The priest was arrested in the public eye, cuffed, perp-walked and punished.

The abuse of a child is the most horrific thing human beings are willing to inflict in this life.

The Catholic Church is scourged. But that is not enough for too many who find the Church in adamant opposition to abortion, sexual libertines, financial predators, and political animals.

Yesterday, was Spy Wednesday* in the Catholic Faith's Holy Week that began last Sunday.

I was treated to faux Catholics on MSNBC Hardball - Chris Matthews and Joan Walsh - two the most fatuous and oily fatheads walking on shod feet.

Holy Week and the continuing sex-abuse scandal allowed the French-kissing Judas and Judies of the corporate media - self-styled reformed Catholics - to spew, shout, interrupt and howl calumnies about their points of view ( Walsh shrilled, wailed and keened about the Partiarchy of Male Prelates, because a WOMAN should be the Pope! Mathews did his usual Charlie McCarthy musings and drones) that the insitutional Catholic Church is intrinsically evil. This is the place for politics as the MSNBC Progressive Cheerleading Squad of Matthews, Schultz, Olbermann, Maddow, O'Donnell and their fellow lesser lights taut and taunt as MSNBC ratings plummet.

Pope Benedict XVI has been targeted by the corporate media since long before the Holy Spirit led him to the Chair of Peter - He was Ratzinger - the Pope's bully boy; the Nazi Flak Gunner; the foe of Feminism and dauntless shepherd of the unborn children.

A gutless, but politically correct and protected Bishop, Rembert Weakland of Milwaukee, protected pedophile priests and tossed the sins of these lice to Rome and into claws of the enemies of the Catholic Church.

I detest all my sins. One of my biggest sins is the sin of Anger. I would have every child-predator executed - publicly. That's how I roll, I guess and will face my God for that stiff-necked point of view.

I detest the hypocrites of the corporate media who collect huge bags of silver by calumnizing the Church in order to 'Change the Narrative.'

Pope Benedict XVI will survive his Gesthemane and the Church will long outlive the idiot box Judas and Judy shows on MSNBC.

*

For thirty pieces of silver was Our Lord betrayed, as prophecied by Zacharias: 1

Zacharias 11:9 -12
I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die: and that which is cut off, let it be cut off: and let the rest devour every one the flesh of his neighbour. And I took my rod that was called Beauty, and I cut it asunder to make void my covenant, which I had made with all people. And it was made void in that day: and so the poor of the flock that keep for me, understood that it is the word of the Lord. And I said to them: If it be good in your eyes, bring hither my wages: and if not, be quiet. And they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver.
St. Luke explains how this vile betrayal happened: a devil entered into Judas:

Luke 22:3-6
And Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariot, one of the twelve. And he went, and discoursed with the chief priests and the magistrates, how he might betray Him to them. And they were glad, and convenanted to give him money. And he promised. And he sought opportunity to betray him in the absence of the multitude (see also John 13:2).
But Jesus already knew this would happen, as we know from this earlier exchange with His Apostles, after He revealed that we must eat His Body and drink His Blood. He knew what Judas would do with the free will God gives to all men:

John 6:64-72
The words that I have spoken to you, are spirit and life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that did not believe, and who he was, that would betray him. And He said: Therefore did I say to you, that no man can come to Me, unless it be given him by my Father.

After this many of his disciples went back; and walked no more with Him. Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away?

And Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we have believed and have known, that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God (see also John 12:26-29 and Matthew 26:25).

Jesus answered them: Have not I chosen you twelve; and one of you is a devil? Now he meant Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon: for this same was about to betray Him, whereas he was one of the twelve.

Diagram Dyson! and Win Valuable Prizes - Afro-Rococo Flannelmouth Out- Faulkners William Faulkner

To tweak Sist'ah Walsh ( Joan Walsh of Salon.com - Hate Whitey, I posed a challenge - Diagram one of Michael Eric Dyson's sentences.

The former Chicago flannelmouthed say-nothing has made a fabulous career where his talents in saying nothing of consequence are valuable - The Ivy League and Cable News.

I used to tell my students at Bishop McNamara High School and at La Lumiere School that the longest sentence in English Literature belonged to William Faulkner in his novel Absalom, Absalom* ( it's about 1,250 + words).

Michael Eric Dyson whips out words like a jacked-up product shill on TV at 3AM, but generally is incomprehensible to human beings - with the exception of Bill Maher who did way too much glue sniffing as a child it seems.

Here's the Diagram Challenge -

And so when we think about warring against White Supremacy in American society, it is so seductive to believe and invest in the mythology of superiority, especially among White ethnic brothers and sisters, who, having been closed out of so much in American society, hold fast to that lie, hold fast to that myth, hold fast to that illusion because they have been so disenfranchised otherwise that they have to pump up the myth of their inherent superiority.
M.E. Dyson

In our comments section tell me what this means and if possible find the verb phrase. Sentence?

Absalom, Absalom - 1st sentence -

"From a little after two weeks oclock until almost sundown of the long still hot weary dead September afternoon they sat in what Miss Coldfield still called the office because her father had called it that-a dim hot airless room with the blinds all closed and fastened for forty-three summers because when she was a girl someone had believed that light and moving air carried heat and that dark was always cooler, and which (as the sun shone fuller and fuller on that side of the house) became latticed with yellow slashes full of dust motes which Quentin thought of as being flecks of the dead old dried paint itself blown inward from the scaling blinds as wind might have blown . . ."
ad infinitum . . . well, pretty long anyway.

Salon's Nun "Sister" Joan Walsh asks, "What's Wrong With Whitey?"

Remember when the Nuns made us Diagram sentences on the blackboard? I can still feel the love! Well, not my Jewish, Anglican, Lutheran, AME and Wiccan friends - you didn't go to Catholic school - except Danny Levi! Oh yeah and the two Dutch kids that later went to some school in Michigan, but I digress. Diagram! Nuns! Snitches and sneaks!

Salon's Joan Walsh reminds me of the Irish colleens who tended to rat out the class when Sister Doralese left the room. "Sister, I studied and prayed, but Larry Fiscelli, Billy Bigane, Mike Kelly, Eileen O'Connor, Terry McEldowney, Willie Winters, Janet Walsh, Margie Prendergast, Carolyn Velos, Ray Winebladt, Jimmy Shea, Ernie Kelly, Bernie Mitchell, Judy Lawlor and the other sneaks especially Pig-eyed Hickey - were making fun of YOU sister and were hateful and barbarous."

Males generally got their asses kicked, followed by having their Hagar Dad 'N Lad Slacks yanked off and tossed over the phone wires, following such an exercise. Homely and singularly unhappy girls, like Joan Walsh, would eventually take the veil, turn feminist, maybe even dedicated Sapphist, following a grammar school career of ratting out their classmates. Some became Magazine editors.

Anyway , Joan Walsh makes a swell career of being singularly unhappy with Salon.com and on MSNBC as a weepy mouth-piece for Progressive, anti-Catholic, anti-Religion, and all abortion issues.

Today, she hates Whitey - you know White People like me the others who work at and support all black Catholic High Schools, and other things. (Click my post title for Joan Walsh's full squeal)

Joan Walsh acts and sounds just like the smug-ugly and stupid nuns who want to be Popes, wear bad clothes that make them look like a Lesbian chorus line, do liturgical dance when asked not to and rarely have ever finished actually reading a book. They were the biggest hitters back in the day. The good nuns wore the old regimentals and actually liked boys.

If Sister Joan can diagram this sentence by Michael Eric Dyson - fast talking Afro-Moron of the 1st Order and Frequent Guest on Cable TV . . .well I'll tell what's wrong with white people . . . explain the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle . . .the recipe to Uncle Jaspar's Peotone Surprise Jambalaya . . . Billy Grey's Treasure Map and the level of salt in Roland S. Martin's diet.

Sister Joan - Diagram it!!!!! . . .and I'll tell what is wrong with White People.

Salon's Blubbery Joan Walsh Wants You to Know That She Is Outraged - Outraged

Getting Showered and Shaved a bit ago, in order to attend to local Democratic Party functions ( good people one and all and nothing like the National Nitwits of the DNC) my son Conor was power surfing the cable and left on MSNBC, before heading to the door and work at Di Cola's Fish on Western Ave.

As I completed my wardrobe assessment for the evening Tweed Ride - frock, shirt and collar cravat, sword-cane and Churchill Waterproof, I noticed that damn his eyes - the lad had left the station tuned to MSNBC.

Salon's Joan Walsh, plumped up from the Holiday Feasting and appearing to have gone 'Double Dutch' with the Mashed Spuds ladles, was rehowling her morning's 'Props' to the Commander-in-Chief with MSNBC Meathead and resident flannel-mouth Chris Matthews. Joan and Milky were doing "the dozens" on the cross-eyed, Black Dude who sounds like steam escaping - the guy had worked for Dick Cheney. MSNBC always invites Republican or Blue Dog Democrat Victims -as opposed to guests.

In essence, Plump and ever weepy Joan had this to say:

" President Obama's candor Tuesday describing the mosaic of warnings . . ." . . . that's enough.

We Have a Problem! Burr Oak Cemetery and Someone Else's Troubles

Father Dan Mallette blesses the desecrated grounds at Burr Oak.

So I asked the undertaker what it took to make him laugh/when all he ever saw is people cryin'

first he hands me a bunch of flowers that he received on my behalf/he said, "Steve business just gets better all the time

Steve Goodman -Somebody Else's Troubles

Max Weismann of the Center for the Study of Great Ideas is an architect and a philosopher.

He designs. Max Weismann thinks. He thinks because he reads and he reads what is great. Max wrote to me in response to the horrific desecration of the dead Americans at Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip, IL

"We are under Siege!Aside from the plethora of current inequities and iniquities being perpetrated on the citizens of this nation, we have now reached the nadir--Congress now passes massive bills of profound and long lasting consequences, without even reading them.

That said, we are ultimately at fault--whenever something is wrong in our communities, cities, states or country, it's because we let it get that way."

We are responsible. Max Weismann is using the 1st Person Plural in its archaic form. Thanks to Progressive PC obfuscation of the common language ( O, Let's Ban Midget!)The first person plural however now means You. Thanks to Victimhood and Identity Politics. Many thanks. Like the name of that old Hippie/Yuppie bar Fred Holstein's - Somebody Else's Trouble , people like to talk of the revolution that someone else fights and spreading the wealth that someone else pays for.

I grew up in a blue collar world where free lunch ends when Mom stops making it. If someone at the bar buys me a beer, I am duty bound to buy the next one. It all evens out, unless you happen to be the type of louse who stands around caging drinks and smile with your short arms and deeper pockets when the round comes to you. I don't do those things, because I have had my ass kicked repeatedly and with great gusto by my elders and betters. You don't get away with that too much around Western Avenue, though I have seen it done. I called such a person a louse, an insect who feeds on others; but, who's to say? One man's louse is another man's cause celebre.

The bane of my outlook in all things over the last four decades has been a dominance of earnest people who speak in hushed measured tones and affect a look of pained recognition but intolerant disgust with all other people. Joan Walsh a Progressive writer and editor of Salon and all too frequent guest on MSNBC ( the Tool Shed) comes to mind. Joan Walsh and folks like her have a mantra - 'Who's to Say?'

e.g. Michael Jackson was not only the greatest entertainer of all time, the 21st Century Dionysus who danced in a Golden Age; a John the Baptist who announced Barack Obama. Who's to say?

Me. I don't do group think and neither do most Americans. I voted for Barack Obama when he ran against Bobby Rush in my Congressional District - Obama lost. I like Barack Obama.

I worked for John McCain. John McCain lost, because he seemed to want to lose, after September 19th 2008 - the day the American Economy tanked. My Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Aunts and my hundreds of cousins voted for Barack Obama.

Barack Obama is my President. I still feel that he was no where near ready to be President and that he will be the Jimmy Carter of the New Millennium - too bad. Nice guy.

I belong to the We - 99% of the Hickey/Winters/Brennan/Donahue/Cleary family voted to make Barack Obama Our President. Pronouns matter. Possessive Pronouns really matter. My guy lost, We won. That is America! Thanks be to God!

Who's to say? Me. I read and seem to understand history. I read and seem to understand poetry, drama, fiction and essays. I taught literature with some success for decades. I occasionally even get paid to write something, because I have something to say. Somethings I managed to learn on my own -from great books.
The rest I learned by getting the odd slap when needed, or from the silent treatment for being a jerk.

I work for and with black teenagers at Leo High School in Gresham neighborhood - in fact a black kid was shot over at 1400 W. 78th Place early this morning by a clown in dred-locks firing from the sun-roof of the car in which he was riding. Some mother has a kid at Advocate Hospital in Oak Lawn with his guts shot out and tubes in every orifice - my kids are asleep. This kid could be a Leo Man, I hope and pray not. The Kids at Leo High School are all black, but the guys helping pay their tuition are nearly all white guys.

Race relations issues are talked about by Joan Walsh-like head-shakers on WTTW who never drop a dime to help kids at Leo. Race Relations happen every day and race relations are pretty damn good. Leo High School is a safe place for Black Kids - they study, meet old white guys, play sports and succeed. Their folks pay heavy tuition bills and old white guys buck up plenty to ease their pain.

Gresham District Chicago Cops protect the kids once they are out of the school and help to see that they get home, without some clown throwing shots at them.

Sheriff Tom Dart unearthed the horrific desecration of My Neighbors at Burr Oak Cemetery. We have a problem. We are under siege, as Max Weismann wrote to me with heartbreakingly succinct clarity.

A Joan Walsh can write for Salon and shake her jowls with disgust at all of us, while making a case for Abortion about white on black systemic racism on MSNBC. Great.

The bones of a child are as precious to me as the bones of Emmett Till, Ezzard Charles, Dinah Washington and the hundreds of people who struggled and laughed and provided for their children and were back-hoe-ed by three morons at the bidding of some others.

We have a problem. Sheriff Tom Dart and all of us are now doing something about what was done. We need to start taking care of Someone Else's Troubles by calling out the dopes who continue to say 'Who's to Say?' We Do.

We need to Read what is Great and not just what is rammed down our throats, by Group Thinkers. We can read Dead White Men and still honor the thoughts of living women of color - honor bright; it can happen.

We need to say that killing Children is not a Woman's Reproductive Health Issue; murder is not the result of systemic racism, but an individual act selfish contempt for everyone else; suffering is not Some Else's Trouble; help is not always the result of more taxes.

Who's to say? Me. I don't need to be right; I just need to live like I might be correct.

Joe Epstein - Progressive Feminist Screamers -The Loathing of Sarah Palin

My career in teaching high school English is a lunch-bucket version of academics. Real teachers rarely become community activists, much less political polemicists. They are far too busy.

They get shuffled off to 'workshops' by the very people who could not hack it in the classroom and became Administrators with degrees in Education from the community college at best or mail-in diploma mills in order to hear Academics from the Colleges of Education who never once set foot in a classroom.

Teachers toss the hand outs and get in forty-winks, or grade papers while some tweedy jerk struts the stage and lights up the video.

Real teachers teach English, History, Business, Physical Education, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Languages. They are Jim the Physics Teacher; Donna the Volleyball Coach.

Seth the Fourth Vice Principal for Curriculum Development sets up Workshops and is paid seven times what real teachers make per year.

A Real Teacher from Northwestern University, Joe Epstein*, has recently scaled down his teaching load and written another book - this one on Fred Astair The Hoofer!

Today, Joe the Writer, presents an essay on the great shout-down: Joe The Plumber is being assaulted by the American Media, because he asked a question of Sen. Barack Obama and managed to pin Obama to the mat on his Redistribution of Wealth Agenda.

Joe Epstein concentrates on the Progressive pile-on by Progressive Feminist of Sarah Palin. The Progressive Feminists loath Sarah Palin, because the Governor of Alaska is a happy person. She is beautiful, successful, active, healthy, married, centered and powerful. Most of all they hate her because Sarah Palin is very happy. Most Americans are happy- beset by troubles, heartbreak, worry to be sure, but essentially happy. Progressive Feminists like Salon's Joan Walsh demand their Female Icons be as battle-damaged as she herself seems to be, but Sarah Palin, Doggoneit, is too happy!

Here is the nub of the rub from Joe the Writer:

Strongly liberal women get most agitated over the issue--though of course to them it is no issue but a long since resolved matter--of abortion. Abortion, to be sure, is the great third-rail subject in American politics. But when a male politician is against abortion, these women can write that off as the ignorance of a standard politician, if not himself a Christian fundamentalist, then another Republican cynically going after the fundamentalist vote. A woman not in favor of abortion is something quite different.

And it is all the more strikingly different when the same woman not only holds this opinion on abortion but acts on it and knowingly bears a child with Down syndrome, a child that most liberal women would have thought reason required aborting. What else, after all, is abortion for?

A few months ago Vanity Fair ran an article about the discovery that the playwright Arthur Miller, with his third wife, the photographer Inge Morath, 40 or so years ago had a Down syndrome son. Miller promptly clapped the boy into an institution--according to the article, not a first class one either--and never saw the child again. Most people would have taken this for a heartless act, one should have thought, especially on the part of a man known for excoriating the putative cruelties of capitalism and the endless barbarities of his own country's governments, whether Democratic or Republican. Yet, so far as one can tell, Arthur Miller's treatment of his own child has not put the least dent in his reputation, while Sarah Palin's having, keeping, and loving her Down syndrome child is somehow, by the standard of the liberal woman of our day, not so secretly thought the act of an obviously backward and ignorant woman, an affront to womanhood. "Her greatest hypocrisy," proclaimed Wendy Doniger, one of the leading feminist lights at the University of Chicago, "is her pretense that she is a woman."

McCain/Palin: Salon -'Insists' - That Readers Agree - The Semiotic Seduction

Joan Walsh, the Gee Whiz Xanthippe of Salon.org 'insists' that readers 'understand' that

1. Gov. Palin is a Stepford Wife Dominatrix

2. Feminism really means something to mothers of America, as well as 'divorced, single-by-choice, or alternative inclination' females.

3. John McCain is a long-legged Mac Daddy

4. Change will only come if everyone does and thinks as Salon -'insists.'

My Aunt Helen used to ladle an extra pint of Dinty Moore Beef stew on my biscuits with an 'I insist!' No argument from this fat-boy Aunt Helen, ladle it on!

I love my Aunt Helen who insisted that I pray to the image of the Sacred Heart and not act like such a little jerk -'all of the time.'

Other people have insisted -'Have shot of Jack.' Pass, that stuff would gag a maggot. Strictly a Smithwicks Man, Noam.'

Other people have insisted that I 'read this op-piece by Noam Chomsky he really understands.' But I do not understand Noam. The guy has the personality of a dial tone.

Some others have insisted that I 'vote for Obama.' I did. Twice. Right here in Illinois. He got creamed by Bobby Rush and won over Allan Keyes!

Now Joan Walsh and her crew 'Insist' that Sarah Palin looks lke 'deer in the headlights ( Dan Quayle -BTW Quayle Won Huge!) and that Charlie Gibson tossed grapefruits at the Governor on ABC last night - saw it Joanie. Gov. did fine.

But Joanie 'insists' upon this doozy:

The fact that Sarah Palin sat for her humiliating interview with ABC's Charles Gibson on 9/11 is one of those strange serendipitous events that makes one believe there's order in the universe. Remember how 9/11 changed everything, especially our new seriousness about the larger world and foreign policy? Never again would we risk a president, maybe not even a senate candidate, without global experience and sophistication.

What a mockery Palin made of all that. I'll get criticized as sexist for saying this, but I would say the same thing about a man who sounded this ignorant: Talking to Charles Gibson tonight, Palin sometimes reminded me of poor Miss South Carolina, who, asked why many Americans can't find the U.S. on a map, famously said: "I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps. And I believe that our education, like, such as in South Africa and the Iraq, everywhere, like such as, and I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future for our children."

This statement from Palin about Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is better, but not hugely: "I believe that under the leadership of Ahmadinejad, nuclear weapons in the hands of his government are extremely dangerous to everyone on this globe, yes. We have got to make sure these weapons of mass destruction, that nuclear weapons are not given to those hands of Ahmadinejad, not that he would use them, but that he would allow terrorists to be able to use them. So we have got to put the pressure on Iran."

N.B - Joanie had nucular misspelled -which I believe was meant to be a an affront to Governor Palin. Could be? Nah. Well, maybe.
Nah, no thanks. Non Sequitur, Joanie. This will keep you with a gig shouting with the White Noise Chris 'Milky' Matthews on The Tool Shed -MSNBC, but it is a roar of laughs to folks who can read - read about what they also witnessed. What? Were you hallucinating? Joan Walsh and Salon will continue to crank out laughs and McCain'Palin will continue to erode the once powerful lead enjoyed by the Junior Senator from Illinois.

When Aunt Helen insists, pour it on.

McCain/Palin: Sarah Palin's Ok with Us - Salon Should Sell Beer.

Billy Ayers and his odious Old Lady were members of University of Illinois Chicago Dean Stanley Fish's 'salon' - a gathering of guys who wear turtle-necks and tweed and their wives and significant others dedicated to frank and open discussions of 'how stupid and inconsequential Americans tend to be.' Rawley!

Joan Walsh*, the Irish Honors Student editor of Salon, has a flat-out assault on Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. Salon is a literary extension of the wine and brie-sotted set discussing 'how stupid and inconsequential Americans tend to be.;

Joanie Walsh is a WOW -N.O.W. WOMAN and an MSNBC sneer-caster.

She sent Juan Cole** ( the Anti-colonialist author and smart guy that Yale took a pass on) out to tell us that Sarah Palin is the head of the Alaska Taliban.

You know Alaska, where the celebration of Diversity has led to massive castrations of pre-teen girls, where opposition candidates are garroted, where non-moose diets are proscribed, where 80% of the Alaska Population wails and gnashes teeth.

The Tweedy Twerps want all of 'stupid and inconsequential Americans' to know that,

' Contemporary Muslim fundamentalists, however, generally oppose abortion.

Palin's stance is even stricter than that of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In 2005, the legislature in Tehran attempted to amend the country's antiabortion statute to permit an abortion up to four months in case of a birth defect. The conservative clerical Guardianship Council, which functions as a sort of theocratic senate, however, rejected the change. Iran's law on abortion is therefore virtually identical to the one that Palin would like to see imposed on American women, and the rationale in both cases is the same, a literalist religious impulse that resists any compromise with the realities of biology and of women's lives. Saudi Arabia's restrictive law on abortion likewise disallows it in the case or rape or incest, or of fetal impairment, which is also Gov. Palin's position.

Theocrats confuse God's will with their own mortal policies. Just as Muslim fundamentalists believe that God has given them the vast oil and gas resources in their regions, so Palin asks church workers in Alaska to pray for a $30 billion pipeline in the state because "God's will has to get done." Likewise, Palin maintained that her task as governor would be impeded "if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God." Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei of Iran expresses much the same sentiment when he says "the only way to attain prosperity and progress is to rely on Islam."

Not only does Palin not believe global warming is "man-made," she favors massive new drilling to spew more carbon into the atmosphere. Both as a fatalist who has surrendered to God's inscrutable will and as a politician from an oil-rich region, she thereby echoes Saudi Arabia. Riyadh has been found to have exercised inappropriate influence in watering down a report in 2007 of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.'

The article links Time magazine's earlly broadsides against Palin that go nowhere. Juan Cole tries to scare the bejabbers out of us 'stupid and inconseqential Americans' with a twice told tale about book banning. The problem is that the story, linked to Time, concludes that there is no there there.

Salon should sell Slim-Jims, Have-A-Hanks, Old Style Beer, and feature a wall shelf of fine Frito Lay Products in individual sized servings, which drunks can purchase by the fist full to stave off false hunger.

Joan Walsh and her staff of tweedy Obama Goebbels provide much less nourishment than a bust-out saloon.

Click my post title for Salon's Juan Cole attack on Sarah Palin and do . . .do click the links to the Time-Warner chips and pretzels.

* Here's Joan Walsh and her stated agenda - check out the balance in the articles:

About Me
I joined Salon in 1998 to become our first full-time news editor, and succeeded the irreplaceable David Talbot as editor in chief in February 2005.

Before that I spent many years as a freelancer -- including for Salon; Scott Rosenberg taught me how to use e-mail in 1995 so I could send in my stories -- and I also ran my own business, consulting to national foundations and nonprofits on education, community development and urban poverty issues. In the 1980s, I was California bureau Chief for In These Times and editor of the Santa Barbara News and Review (now the Independent).

I've written for everyone from the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post to Vogue and the Nation. I love baseball, Bruce Springsteen, Stephen Colbert and long walks on the beach. I live in San Francisco with my daughter, Nora, the best teenager ever.
