Get Your Fat Ass Out of Church! Nutrition, Progressive Nanny State Goats and the Need for Speed

My Considered, Albeit Unscientific, Retort to a Progressive's Research on my Nutritional Lifestyle, at North Ave. Beach on Recent Sunny Day in the Company of a Woman I Love.

A new study has found that young adults who frequently attend religious activities are 50 percent more likely to become obese by middle age compared with those who don’t take part in any religious events. Chicago Sun Times Stephano Esposito March 25, 2011

Again, when men commence an undertaking, they always are prepared to show that the absolute necessities of the world demanded its completion . . . ( think of High Speed Rails between Peotone and Custer Park; Fois Gras Bans, Reversing the Chicago River, Homosexual Puppets and Personalities on PBS for Toddlers, Eating only the Foods We Say One May ) . . . One or other of these points at least is incontrovertible: the public wants a thing, therefore it is supplied with it; or the public is supplied with a thing, therefore it wants it. William Makepeace Thackeray The Book of Snobs: Parenthetical contemporary commentary my own.

Thus, it was in the waning days of Regency England and the Advent of Victoria Regina and so remains in this our Progressive America - the one cork screwed into the loam by the forced free mortgages crafted by Barney Frank and Fannie Mae; The TARP magic that averted a debt crisis unprecedented until the one bubbling up around our butts; the Federal Platform for Planned Parenthood's American Abortion Industry; Public Schools; Gay Marriage and Civil Unions; Our On-going Op-ed Obesity Kristallnacht.

Once the Public is Force Fed, the public is sated. Now, to the War on Lardasses!

Sunday's Chicago Sun Times offered another heaping plateful of juicy caveats with regard to our fat co-workers and group health insurance. Incentives for Healthy Lifetsyles encouraging comrades of the workforce to exercise and forgo the cheese melt sandwiches from the roach coach and canteen vending machines. Likewise, educational cheerleading about nutritional foods that are actually medicine is offered in which one man of science and math from the research organization offering the morning's portion shouts this!

“The IFIC defines functional foods as “foods or food components that may provide benefits beyond basic nutrition.”

People are 1,000 percent more conscious of the fact that food can act as medicine and help prevent lots of diseases,” says Jean Carper, author of several best-selling books about functional food."
Well, how about that for science, Fat Boy! That's 10 times the 100% in your CPA scribblings. Just like them dead polar bears floating snouts to the globally fatal sun, we got us some science!

Why, only last March, The Sun Times proved with equally impressive lab-coat certainty that going to Christian Church, not a Mosque mind you, added unsightly and probably breeder poundage.

Check out this opening sentence!

We don’t know why frequent religious participation is associated with development of obesity, but the upshot of these findings highlight a group that could benefit from targeted efforts at obesity prevention,” said Matthew Feinstein, the study’s lead investigator and a fourth-year student at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. “It’s possible that getting together once a week and associating good works and happiness with eating unhealthy foods could lead to the development of habits that are associated with greater body weight and obesity.”

The study tracked 2,433 young men and women for 18 years in Chicago, Minneapolis, Birmingham, Ala., and Oakland, Calif.

In the study, “frequent” religious participation meant attending at least one event per week. Most, but not all of the participants, were Christians — reflecting the dominant religion in the United States, Feinstein said.

The natural huffing and puffing that follows Evangelical Trencherman Tom as we waddles out of the corporate cubicle to the snack canteen, inspite of the fact that Tubby Tom heaps profits to the shareholders by dint of his talents for investment, gets on the nerves of his svelt bicycling vegan atheist compeers who have the ear of the Boardroom, though they do but little corporate good. You see Tubby Tom munches and works, while his svelt peers preach Progressive memes all shift and beyond.

Our Progressive Lard Snobs have a smorgasbord of 'scientific' Gobble-Dee-Gook from which to pile it on the people that they want to vacate their Green Planet. One such bucket of thought-lard is Obesity-in-America.org. Announce a crisis and get back-up for Crisis Management.

Smokers, Breeders, Church-goers, and Tubbies had better watch out and better not cry. Stay out of Church, drop that 'Baccy, March or Die!

The media helped us into our economic swamp by offering clarion calls for the raising of debt, the bad mortgage give-aways and the Civil Rights of homosexual intercourse, free health insurance and in no time at all High Speed Rails that will ban transporting Fat Asses.

Michael Moriarty Fights PC Jazz Goofs & Erroll Garner - I'll Remember April

Progressive Jazz: How the Left’s ‘Teachable Moments’ Killed Bradley’s Michael Moriarty's poignant and on-target essay on the Progressive PC poisoning of jazz focused my attention on the Great Erroll Garner Click my post title for pure genius.

Errol Garner is ignored. It seems to me that Mr. Garner is ignored because he was not angry enough - to the contrary.

Garner remains unique. Playing consistently to a very high standard, he developed certain characteristics that bear few resemblances to other pianists. Notably, these include a plangent left-hand, block-chorded pulse, a dancing pattern of seemingly random ideas played with the right hand in chords or single notes, and playful introductions, which appear as independent miniature compositions, only to sweep suddenly, with apparent spontaneity and complete logic, into an entirely different song.

Sumptuously romantic on ballads, and fleet and daring on up-tempo swingers, Garner’s range was wide. Nicknamed ‘The Elf’, more, perhaps, for his diminutive stature than for the impish good humour of those introductions, Garner was the first jazz pianist since Fats Waller to appeal to the non-jazz audience, and the first jazzman ever to achieve popular acclaim from this audience without recourse to singing or clowning. Dudley Moore acknowledges much of his style to Garner, and ‘swinging 60s piano jazz’ owes a massive debt to him. Stylistically, Garner is in a category of which he is, so far, the only true member. Since his death in January 1977, there has been no sign that any other pianist other than Keith Jarrett is following his independent path in jazz.

Michael Moriarty, a jazz pianist as well as a great American actor, wrote this

My God, the politicizing of jazz had grown to a militant exclusivity that infuriated me!
Had I not been with my director and had downed a few more drinks, I might have tipped over a few tables.
Now the atmosphere of this Nicole Henry album was inspired in one of the most jazz-addicted nations in the world, Japan.
They obviously retain a freedom within their increasingly sensitized souls more American than that most American giant of world cities, New York!!
Perhaps it was the moment the sportscaster, Dick Schapp asked me, “Michael, is there anyone in New York you haven’t offended?!”
“Yes,” I should have said, “You, Dick!”
Tighten the phones to your ears, if you’re using them to listen to the intimacy Ms. Henry maintains with herself – and that, mind you, is the first necessity of any recording … or film artist for that matter – and then let the “still, small voice” in.
Let the deep and quietly, blissfully disturbing surrender happen.
Bradley’s is no more and hasn’t lived for many years because once Bradley himself had died, his poor wife could not keep the Progressive Militants out.
That crowd of elitists, enlightened despots and intellectual supremacists had driven the regular customers like myself … had forced them out.
Eventually even they didn’t come.
Why?
They had no one to give a “teachable moment” to.
What happened to Bradley’s has now happened to all of America.
How long we will be in for this horrifyingly arrogant, “teachable endlessness” … and how long this soul-less and tragically American fascism can continue … will perhaps depend upon the depth of agony we all must feel repeatedly when the quintessentially American forms of music are fed to us as a privilege only afforded us by the Progressive dictators who claim to own it.
Big Hollywood 4/10/210

Jazz belongs to all of us. Thanks Mr. Moriarty and thank you Mr. Garner

Illinois Needs to get Wise to Gentry Liberalism - Avoid the California Rush to Ruin

Back in 2007 Joel Kotkin and Fred Siegel coined the phrase Gentry Liberalism. The Main Stream Media has avoided this term; this condition that afflicts America.

Gentry Liberalism -Today's ascendant liberalism has a much different agenda. Call it "gentry liberalism." It's not driven by the lunch-pail concerns of those workers struggling to make it in an increasingly high-tech, information-based, outsourcing U.S. economy -- though it does pay lip service to them.

Rather, gentry liberalism reflects the interests and values of the affluent winners in the era of globalization and the beneficiaries of the "financialization" of the economy. Its strongholds are the tony neighborhoods and luxurious suburbs in and around New York, Washington, Boston, San Francisco and West Los Angeles.

These are folks who have nothing to lose - jobs, income, health. Needless to say they feel great - about themselves, but the rest of us? Not so hot. We tend to be fatter, have many more children, remain married, cling to religion
, work and pay taxes. We are Helots and they are Progressive Olympians - not the athletes the folks on that big hill in Greece.

Gentry Liberalism loves Advocacy Politics ( Gay, Black, Hispanic ( whatever the Hell that is), Abortion Happy/Women & etc.) and Marxist PACS SEIU/ACORN & etc. You know - like every time Ralph Martire opens his yap? More taxes.

Gentry Liberalism means Taxes for Helots.

Illinois needs to get wise to Gentry Liberalism - Progressive Political Olympians.

We can start by getting wise to Kotkin and Seigel. Click my post title.

Obama's problems stem primarily from gentry liberalism's class contradictions. Focused on ultra-affluent greens, the media, Wall Street and the public sector, gentry liberalism generally gives short shrift to upward mobility, the basic aspiration of the middle class.

Scott Brown's shocking victory in Massachusetts--like earlier GOP triumphs in Virginia and New Jersey--can be explained best by class. Analysis by demographer Wendell Cox, among others, shows that Brown won his margin in largely middle- and working-class suburbs, where many backed Obama in 2008. He lost by almost 2-to-1 among poor voters and also among those earning over $85,000 a year. He also won a slight margin among union members--remarkable given the lockstep support of their organizations for Brown's Democratic opponent, Martha Coakley.

Geography played a role, of course, but class proved the divider. Coakley did well in the wealthiest suburbs largely north and northwest of Boston. But Brown's edge in the more middle- and working-class suburbs proved insurmountable.

Joe Epstein - Progressive Feminist Screamers -The Loathing of Sarah Palin

My career in teaching high school English is a lunch-bucket version of academics. Real teachers rarely become community activists, much less political polemicists. They are far too busy.

They get shuffled off to 'workshops' by the very people who could not hack it in the classroom and became Administrators with degrees in Education from the community college at best or mail-in diploma mills in order to hear Academics from the Colleges of Education who never once set foot in a classroom.

Teachers toss the hand outs and get in forty-winks, or grade papers while some tweedy jerk struts the stage and lights up the video.

Real teachers teach English, History, Business, Physical Education, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Languages. They are Jim the Physics Teacher; Donna the Volleyball Coach.

Seth the Fourth Vice Principal for Curriculum Development sets up Workshops and is paid seven times what real teachers make per year.

A Real Teacher from Northwestern University, Joe Epstein*, has recently scaled down his teaching load and written another book - this one on Fred Astair The Hoofer!

Today, Joe the Writer, presents an essay on the great shout-down: Joe The Plumber is being assaulted by the American Media, because he asked a question of Sen. Barack Obama and managed to pin Obama to the mat on his Redistribution of Wealth Agenda.

Joe Epstein concentrates on the Progressive pile-on by Progressive Feminist of Sarah Palin. The Progressive Feminists loath Sarah Palin, because the Governor of Alaska is a happy person. She is beautiful, successful, active, healthy, married, centered and powerful. Most of all they hate her because Sarah Palin is very happy. Most Americans are happy- beset by troubles, heartbreak, worry to be sure, but essentially happy. Progressive Feminists like Salon's Joan Walsh demand their Female Icons be as battle-damaged as she herself seems to be, but Sarah Palin, Doggoneit, is too happy!

Here is the nub of the rub from Joe the Writer:

Strongly liberal women get most agitated over the issue--though of course to them it is no issue but a long since resolved matter--of abortion. Abortion, to be sure, is the great third-rail subject in American politics. But when a male politician is against abortion, these women can write that off as the ignorance of a standard politician, if not himself a Christian fundamentalist, then another Republican cynically going after the fundamentalist vote. A woman not in favor of abortion is something quite different.

And it is all the more strikingly different when the same woman not only holds this opinion on abortion but acts on it and knowingly bears a child with Down syndrome, a child that most liberal women would have thought reason required aborting. What else, after all, is abortion for?

A few months ago Vanity Fair ran an article about the discovery that the playwright Arthur Miller, with his third wife, the photographer Inge Morath, 40 or so years ago had a Down syndrome son. Miller promptly clapped the boy into an institution--according to the article, not a first class one either--and never saw the child again. Most people would have taken this for a heartless act, one should have thought, especially on the part of a man known for excoriating the putative cruelties of capitalism and the endless barbarities of his own country's governments, whether Democratic or Republican. Yet, so far as one can tell, Arthur Miller's treatment of his own child has not put the least dent in his reputation, while Sarah Palin's having, keeping, and loving her Down syndrome child is somehow, by the standard of the liberal woman of our day, not so secretly thought the act of an obviously backward and ignorant woman, an affront to womanhood. "Her greatest hypocrisy," proclaimed Wendy Doniger, one of the leading feminist lights at the University of Chicago, "is her pretense that she is a woman."

McCain?Palin: Seth Pie-Gallon's Progressive Thoughts on McCain/Palin, Racism, Classism, Systemic Gaming Systems, Sweet Movies

I'm* talking about the Bail Out Crisis because Old Man Hickey already did and said that he is against the bail out which means I am for it. God, I hate him! Mean People Suck! He Hates the Dead. Hickey listens to the Young Rascals - they had a TV show I guess. He's all about black white. I hate him! Hickey Sucks!

I read Steve Weber in Huffington Post, because Hickey hates him and the show Wings was pretty cool I guess its on Lifetime Channel and my Mom watches it. Steve Weber is one of the guys on the show but he's really smart.

Weber is really smart and knows stuff like this about the bail out I highlighted the really fetch stuff he says - he reads books, I guess. Check it out, Dude:

The fraudulent grounds for what will be an even larger haul than what was bagged by The Shakedown in Iraq have been laid out by the latest Bush henchman Machine Gun Henry Paulson and his sidekick Binky Bernanke: almost a trillion buckeroos pulled from the remaining orifices of the now officially comatose American public to bail out the very wankers who have picked them clean. Wow. Even Winston Smith is dumbfounded.

It's like watching a rape from a few feet away only nobody's screaming and nobody cares. So desensitized and dehumanized is the American public that the thieves are sure to get away clean. This will surely become a fascinating chapter in the history of the late, great United States for future students to study. They will see the deleterious effects of constant exposure to television, an educational and entertainment tool that was used for nefarious purposes by Those Greedy Bastards. They will build dioramas of the massive shopping boxes which perched like roach motels in cities and towns, drawing people in to consume beyond their means to digest, beyond their means to afford. They will study the steady reduction of standards of education and information, the virtual obliteration of history and they will note the side effects: progressive brain softening and deterioration of free will and the diminution of once proud swaths of the American public to atrophied, docile clods, roused only when their sugar is withheld or one of their pagan gods is criticized.

That is so cool! I hate Sarah Palin and she makes me sick! Alaska is near Russia - yeah. God is she stupid and McCain can't work a e-mail. O Hate them Obama Rules we're all getting a tax-cut, health care, and no War. Only racists are for McCain and Old People like Hickey.

The bail out will be good because there was this guy on MSNBC and he said Bush did nothing for Africa. I'm tired. I think Rachel Maddow is Hot!

Vote Obama on November 5th! Tina Fey reminded me!

John McCain: Obama's Remarks on 'the American Villagers' is from His Heart!

And," he concluded, "it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

The remarks could be political dynamite, with the Keystone State voting in just 10 days.

"Pennsylvanians don't need a President who looks down on them. They need a President who stands up for them, who fights for them, who works hard for your futures, your jobs, your families," Clinton blasted.

"As I travel around Pennsylvania, I meet people who are resilient, who are optimistic, who are positive, who are rolling up their sleeves," she added. "They are working hard every day for a better future, for themselves and their children."

Steve Schmidt, a senior McCain adviser, described Obama's statement as "remarkable" and "extremely revealing."
Barack Obama - The End of the Trail Speech. I'm feeling you, Senator.

Click my post title for the full Monty on Senator Obama's slight regard for all of us American Villagers.

Barack Obama was not only speaking to 'small-town' America, but the small towns that exist in Big Cities as well - we call them neighborhoods: Obama was talking to Dorchester, Queens, Staten Island, Pilsen, Canaryville, Brighton Park, Edison Park, Norwood Park, Evergreen Park, Morgan Park - hell every Park. Well, maybe not Hyde Park.

This was no Political Gotcha. This is Pure undiluted doctrine - Progressive doctrine. Obama lives this doctrine and it is from the heart - Words do matter. Barack Obama was speaking to his core constituency - Progressives. They are Gown elites - like his Hyde Park Neighbors in Chicago. Like Army brats, University Demographics - that's what smart types call people - tend to be transient - move around alot.

The Progressive demographic tends to be childless; Single or MNKs; college educated; transient; urban; spiritual but not religiously affiliated; professional; mistrustful of law enforcement and people who work in government; non-smoking; up-scale. Our Chicago Lakefront Wards and communities provide a good example - the trendier expensive neighborhoods, where much more disposable capital is enjoyed and where folks reside who make a lot of money - good jobs - and are not anchored to mortgages, schools and community roots, because they tend not to have children. Hence, an affinity for the Progressive Flagship like Planned Parenthood.

Progressives tend to look down upon the very religious, mostly high school educated, blue-collar, ethnic, close-knit, married people; who are, therefore, unfamiliar with the fitness gym/health club life style, due to raising many children in a thirty-year mortgage home, in these far less transient neighborhoods. The 'small town' places on big cities where the smoking ban is having a deep impact on bar owners: Norwood Park, Edison Park, Scottsdale, Mount Greenwood, Morgan Park Wrightwood & etc.

Progressives want Joe and Mabel Six Pack to not only recognize the ’shabbiness of their drab lives,’ but, also, agree with the Progressives that Abortion is a really good thing and that religion is the cause of most societal problems - that, and the fact of their being overweight- 'hate fat,!' under educated, under dressed and over populated. Progressives would rather see huge mastiffs in rastaurants, than Joe and Mabel's six kids. Joe and Mabel are told to keep their mouths shut while Obama conducts our 'current national debate on Race.' Michael Eric Dyson and Cornel West will tell Joe and Mabel just how much like Obama's Granny they are - start to nodding!

Progressives are far less interested in who the precinct captain might be, but they are really interested in Global issues ( like Faux Gras -and so should every other community!!!!

BTW - on all that Progressive demographic stuff - Read Joel Kotkin's studies of the American City. He's a demographer and social scientist - I'm just a guy who works at Leo High School. Gotta site ideas - I'm no Jayson Blair.

http://www.joelkotkin.com/

Obama was having a good old fashioned elitist Jaw-Fest! Obama was speaking to his Peeps! Bill Maher, Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and all the educated and tweedy stiffs who universally kiss their waxed rumps. Obama's words come from the Heart - he really means what he said. I'm feeling you. You feeling me?
