John McCain; Old Paint v. Phar Lap

The Australian legendary horse, Phar Lap, took on the full field of front runners at Aqua Caliente in 1932 and blew them away. Two days later the wonder horse dropped dead of colic. To paraphrase historian Lauren Hillenbrand, that didn't do much for the nag but did wonders for his legend. So it is with Illinois first term Senator Barack Obama one of the most electrifying public persons to come on the scene in years.

http://www.americanheritage.com/articles/magazine/ah/2000/3/2000_3_78.shtmlHere in Illinois, Barack Obama was identified with the quotidian tasks of getting the job done. He did not electrify. He was there.

Defeated in a run for Congress against Black Panther turned Chicago Alderman turned U.S./ Congressman Bobby Rush and tweaked in the Chicago Sun Times as 'not black enough,' Obama was acknowledged as a good guy and an up-and comer.

Then he was passed along to the U.S. Senate in the usual way - bartering for the primary shot with Dan Hynes, getting the Chicago Tribune to open up the books on Republican rival Jack Ryan and being treated with Allan Keyes as an opponent in the general election. Not electrifying.

The the 2004 DNC - electrifying speech and a fairy-tale first date.

The gradus, the normal steps of political ascent was bulldozed immediately by the buzz-doctors and poll priests at the DNC and the Progressive road-grader went to work on the political process - 'forget the resume - polish the interview!'

Electrifying. Short-circuit, but electrifying nevertheless. Barack Obama no longer was photographed with the elected officials who helped him in Springfield. Obama was now with the Major Dudes of Progressivism. Community activist was pushed to the top of resume along with U of C Law Professor! Now that's progressive. Legislation in Springfield? No paper trail? - no matter. Obama was out of the gate!

Kid Hope blows by Biden, Dodd, Richardson, Kucinich ( a Llama among the other Clydesdales), he takes show-pony Edwards and finally after getting plenty of juice from Doc Dean, Obama goes neck-and neck with the only Chalk on the Turf - Senator Hillary Clinton gets a photo-finish with Kid Hope in June.

The race is over. Obama is run-out. We have seen all that he can do.

Obama is stumbling and seems colicky. There is not much there -there.

John McCain, a genuine public servant and a 'flawed person' by his own account had this Democratic voter well over a year ago. I like Barack Obama, but he is no where near ready to be President; no where near ready to be Governor of Illinois and Jimmy the Two-Headed Boy could do a better job than Governor John Edwards-Lite Blagojevich.

Obama will lose forty states. Like Phar Lap, we found Obama 'electrifying' - snap, sizzle, fizz - but Old Paint McCain will win by a land-slide - forty lengths at least.

Click my post title for the Economist article Obama Fatigue.

The beauty of this very unscientific analysis lies in the fact that my methodology is as old as the polis - I am voting for John McCain because I trust him to win the War on Islamist Terror, work with all Americans to right the economy, make the hard-decisions for the right reasons and keep America safe, strong and focused.

Senator Obama blew the most important decision of his political life - when asked by the DNC clown-opera to run for President, Barack Obama jumped at the chance. He bolted out of the gate before he was ready for the race. CRASH, SPLINTER, RIP! STUMBLE! That's gotta hurt.

John McCain: Obama Backs off Debates - Now, What Would Cousin Wild Bill Hickock Say?

Hickock & Jane or Wild Bill Obama & Calamity Claire McCaskill?

Here's Obama cousin Wild Bill Hickock on playing it safe!

"Sure glad to see you, but hand me those guns." -- Wild Bill Hickok, greeting cowboys new to Abilene, Kansas in 1871.

Look'ee Here, Pards!

And one day after McCain promised not to raise taxes, Obama signaled he’s willing to have a vigorous debate. Maybe even a duel. “The family legend is that Wild Bill Hickok, he’s a distant cousin of mine,” Obama said, noting an 1865 duel that happened in this town. “We’re going to research that cause I’m ready to duel John McCain on taxes. Right now, right here. I’m a quick draw.”

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/07/30/1234432.aspx

Now, Look'ee Here

Democratic candidate Barack Obama on Saturday backed away from rival John McCain's challenge for a series of joint appearances, agreeing only to the standard three debates in the fall.

In May, when a McCain adviser proposed a series of pre-convention appearances at town hall meetings, Obama said, "I think that's a great idea." In summer stumping on the campaign trail, McCain has often noted that Obama had not followed through and joined him in any events.

Obama's reversal on town hall debates is part of a play-it-safe strategy he's adopted since claiming the nomination and grabbing a lead in national polls. Advisers to the Illinois senator, speaking on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss strategy, say Obama is reluctant to take chances or give McCain a high-profile stage now that Obama's the front-runner.

Now, I wonder if John McCain - thought by some to be a tad on the onery side -might not be a distant cousin of Black Bart ( no Race Card intended or implied). I can almost hear Sen. McCain offering similar poetic sentiments as these:

Black Bart was a poet outlaw.

"I've labored long and hard for bread

For honor and for riches

But on my corns too long you've tread

You fine haired sons of bitches."

-- Black Bart

John McCain: Obama is No Salmon P. Chase

“He’s spending an awful lot of time talking about me. You notice that?” Obama asked a crowd of just over one thousand seated in a university gym. “I haven’t seen an ad yet where he talks about what he’s going to do. And the reason is because those folks know they don’t have any good answers, they know they’ve had their turn over the last eight years and made a mess of things.”

“They know that you’re not real happy with them and so the only way they figure they’re going to win this election is if they make you scared of me,” Obama continued, repeating an attack from earlier in the day. “What they’re saying is ‘Well, we know we’re not very good but you can’t risk electing Obama. You know, he’s new, he doesn’t look like the other presidents on the currency, he’s a got a funny name.’”

True, Senator, true.

You are no Salmon P. Chase - heck not even Al Hamilton, but you are young and Hope Springs Eternal in breast of Youth.
Or, do you mean? God's Holey Haines! Race? Campaign has tanked already?

Ah, The Race Card - All 52 plus the Jokers in the Obama Deck!

Now, I wonder which of our National worthies on our spondulices John McCain most resembles?

Thanks Hot Air's Ed Morrissey!

John McCain: Barack Obama - Toastmaster General of the United States

Without doubt, Senator Barack Obama delivers a nice speech - lots of them. With individuals or even a few persons - not so hot. In front of masses of people, he is Ciceronian. Answering an individual's question he is Porky Pig.

John McCain, face-to-face, on the phone ( I have had the honor of both such exchanges with Senator McCain)or before hundreds of Americans in a townhall meeting, or a grocery aisle, or with a hostile media shill, sounds the same.

Obama is elegant and mannered. McCain is direct and at-ease.

When John McCain won the New Hampshire Primary, the morons at MSNBC interrupted his speech with hoots and cat calls.

When Obama dodged the need to explain his twenty years in the pews of Crazy Uncle Jeremiah with a few paragraphs in Philadelphia, MSNC's Chris Matthews thighs went all a tingle.

Not much said about the Phildelphia Dodge these days.

A President serves. George Washington was a career soldier, plantation owner, member of the Continental Congress, Commander of the Continental Army and a solid organizer. Abraham Lincoln was a cagey lawyer for Illinois Central Railroads, Whig politician, militia captain, abolitionist Republican Congressman, defeated Senate candidate and duelist ( with James Shields). Teddy Roosevelt was a rancher, naturalist, author, Medal of Honor recipient, regimental commander, Police Commissioner, Civil Service Commissioner, Governor and Vice President. John McCain was a naval aviator, POW, Silver Star % etc. recipient, Squadron Commander, Congressman, Senator, Presidential Candidate ( 2000), author, architect of the Surge in Iraq & etc.

Barack Obama - community activist, appointed William Ayers as Chair of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, appointed to Board of Woods Fund, Illinois State Senator ( 1997-2004), U.S. Senator ( 2004-Present)DNC Keynote Speaker, and autobiographer.

Obama reads a great speech.* McCain delivers service, like the Presidents before him.

John McCain: Watch This Story - Tim Novak on Obama, Rezko, Doc Ray and Pi$$ed Away Investments

A couple of burglars get caught and Nixon resigns. A county payroll Urologists ( Wee-wee Doc) wets his beak and sings to the Feds. Keep an eye out for this and other stories by the only pitbull among the Progressive purse-puppies at Progressive Sun Times - the paper so deep in Obama's tank that many crossocheilus oblongi are required to clean up for the Obama Campaign. Not it seems, Tim Novak

Chicago Sun Times has a pitbull - Tim Novak. Here is one of his investigative stories that will prove to have legs like Cyd Charisse in 1954!

While on the county payroll, a top urologist at Cook County Hospital solicited nearly $1 million from drug companies over the last decade for his private foundation.

Dr. Paul S. Ray's pitch was that the money would go toward medical research and education.

Dr. Paul S. Ray has been granted immunity from prosecution to testify against Tony Rezko in a still-pending criminal case.

But most of the money hasn't gone to health care at all. Instead, Ray invested it -- mostly in Tony Rezko.

Rezko is the convicted influence-peddler who had been a prodigious fund-raiser for politicians including Sen. Barack Obama, Gov. Blagojevich and the late Cook County Board President John Stroger, the ultimate boss of the county hospitals.

Ray had long worked with Stroger's godson, Orlando Jones, a top administrator at Cook County Hospital who became Stroger's chief of staff. Jones eventually left county government for a job with Rezko. Last September, after he had been questioned by the FBI, Jones committed suicide.

Ray set up the Paul S. Ray Urology Education and Research Foundation 16 years ago. It began investing with Rezko's companies in 2002, according to reports Ray filed with the Internal Revenue Service. The foundation invested $500,000 with Rezko Concessions, which operated Panda Express and Papa John's Pizza restaurants. It also put $100,000 into a proposed housing development Rezko unsuccessfully sought to build on a 62-acre site along the Chicago River in the South Loop.

Ray, 63, of Chicago, also invested his own money with Rezko, spending millions to buy real estate and Papa John's Pizza restaurants from Rezko.

Ray's Rezko deals didn't turn out well:

John McCain: GE & NBC Get Their Beak's Wet by Obama Campaign

The politics of change and serious folding money.

The Obama Campaign bundled $5M in cash to pay for ads that will run during the NBC Olympic Coverage 2008.

Here in Chicago we call that 'making a drop.' Quid Pro(the Stuff That WE Do For You!) Quo.

This from Not Your Sweetie

Obama Makes $5 Million Buy
In the first significant network-TV buy of any presidential candidate in at least 16 years, the Obama campaign has taken a $5 million package of Olympics spots that includes network TV as well as cable

And isn’t it symbolic:

The Obama campaign will join major advertisers including McDonald’s and Anheuser-Busch.

Well, I always thought GE and Bo had a deal as of last year when Obama dissed Fox. Now they get paid for their enthusiastic surrogacy. There’s one more humorous note:

Bob Dole’s 1996 buy
The last network TV spot bought by a presidential contender was apparently a single multi-minute ad run by Republican Sen. Bob Dole in 1996.

Oh, that went well!

That's why Keith 'Bathtub Bubble Biter Boy' and Chris 'Tingle Thighs' Matthews get all Tiger Beat for Kid Hope. Kid Hope and Jesse Jackson ( Chicago's King of Beers) will share time in the sponsor's box, mayhaps? Watch your goodies, Senator!

McCain gets face time next to the Velveeta Cheese displays. Well, I love nice grilled Velveeta Cheese & red onion Sammy.

John McCain: Obama's Cork-Screw Express - (Off Mike?) 'Oh, Hell No, I Love Mike!'

From Jordan - not the NBA icon, cigar aficionado, and Undies magnate - The Arab Country near Israel:

From the Washington Post Click my post title for more:

OBAMA: Well, let me — let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under a McCain government — administration. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under an Obama administration. So that policy is not going to change.

. . .

With that, we'd be happy to start taking questions.

Andrea?

QUESTION: (OFF-MIKE)

OBAMA: And identify if you want to pose a question either to Senator Hagel or Senator Reed?

QUESTION: (OFF-MIKE)

OBAMA: Right.

QUESTION: There are reports that (OFF-MIKE)

OBAMA: How many questions (inaudible)

(LAUGHTER)

QUESTION: (OFF-MIKE)

OBAMA: OK. That's a bunch.

OBAMA: So let me tick these off.

N.B.

I added some more of my own - why not they are just as soul-searchingly honest and straight foward as Obama's Cork-Screw Express!

Question: (OFF-MIKE)

OBAMA: Lights.

Question: ( OFF-Mike)

OBAMA: Clearly there were Post Toasties and orange juice.

Question (OFF-MIKE)

OBAMA: It is fairly easy to see a spectrum produced by white light when it passes through a prism, the bevelled edge of a mirror or a tapered pane of glass, or through drops of rain to form a rainbow. When samples which are composed purely of one single chemical element, e.g. hydrogen, are caused to emit light, they may emit light at several characteristic frequencies. The frequency profile produced is characteristic of that element. (GREAT GALES OF LAUGHTER FROM MEDIA)Instead of there being a wide band filled with colours from violet to red, there will be isolated bands of single colours separated by darkness. Such a display is called a line spectrum. Some lines go beyond the visible frequencies and can only be detected by special photographic film or other such devices. Scientists hypothesized that an atom could radiate light the way the string on a fine violin radiates sound – not only with a fundamental frequency (in which the entire string moves the same way at once) but with several higher harmonics (formed when the string divides itself into halves and other divisions that vibrate in coordination with each other as when one half of the string is going one way as the other half of the string is going the opposite way). For a long time nobody could find a mathematical way to relate the frequencies of the line spectrum of any element.

Question: (OFF-MIKE)
OBAMA: That's clear . . . tell Chris Matthews this for me, Andrea; Meralgia parenthetica causes tingling, numbness or other sensations on the upper thigh. It is a type of paresthesia caused by nerve damage to one of the nerves coming from the spine to the thigh region. Most commonly it arises from nerve compression or nerve entrapment, such as exertion of the thigh, pelvis, or hip area. In such cases, it usually gradually resolves over time, with appropriate rest, taking between a few weeks to months to cure. ( INAUDIBLE - BUT IF SO HOW TO BEST REPORT ITS INAUDIBLITY?)

Question: ( OFF-MIKE)

OBAMA: Look,I am not an agent for American Express - I am an agent for Change; however to answer your question there is a kiosk near the tarmac.

Question: ( OFF-MIKE)

OBAMA: Uh, now you know that is hateful . . .How did . . . Ryan Lizza? Look,Now, Mr. Ayres [Ayers] is a 60 plus year old individual who lives in my neighborhood, who did something that I deplore 40 years ago when I was six or seven years old. By the time I met him, he was a professor of education at the University of Illinois.

We served on a board together that had Republicans, bankers, lawyers, focused on education, who worked for Mayor Daley. Mayor Daley, the same Mayor Daley probably who when he was a state attorney prosecuted Mr. Ayres’s wife for those activities, I (INAUDIBLE) the point is that to somehow suggest that in any way I endorse his deplorable acts 40 years ago, because I serve on a board with him.

Now stop doing these hateful things to my wife!

Question: ( OFF-MIKE)

Obama: Waffles . . .Now, can I just eat my Waffles?

John McCain: Ignore the New York Times

In this campaign, there are honest differences over Iraq, and we should discuss them with the thoroughness they deserve. Unlike Senator McCain, I would make it absolutely clear that we seek no presence in Iraq similar to our permanent bases in South Korea, and would redeploy our troops out of Iraq and focus on the broader security challenges that we face. But for far too long, those responsible for the greatest strategic blunder in the recent history of American foreign policy have ignored useful debate in favor of making false charges about flip-flops and surrender.

It’s not going to work this time. It’s time to end this war.
Senator Barack Obama New York Times Op-Ed piece July 14, 2008.

There's fair and then there's the New York Times. The New York Times refused to print Senator John McCain's polar opposite Op-Ed piece to balance the charges of 'same-old-same-old' Bush Failed policies and the audaciously hopeful fiat to Joint Chiefs of Staff, "As president, I would pursue a new strategy, and begin by providing at least two additional combat brigades to support our effort in Afghanistan. We need more troops, more helicopters, better intelligence-gathering and more nonmilitary assistance to accomplish the mission there. I would not hold our military, our resources and our foreign policy hostage to a misguided desire to maintain permanent bases in Iraq."

As a Democrat voting for John McCain, I trust McCain's judgment and character. I have no idea what Senator Obama's judgment and character might be other than that of a very elegant politician who has no problem consigning political liabilities to oblivion once they become too public. Obama is a great speech reader and set piece prop - he looks and sound good even when he ain't.

John McCain walks the walk and too often trips over the talk. Most people I know have that very problem. Sometimes there is a tendency among very public people to pretend that they can divine the depths of another's heart by the choice of words. Parsing has become sucker-punching in today's timid thought climate, only less vital to what passes ( er, parses) for debate is the volume at which one manages to scream questions.

The New York Times goes one further - they will not print words that they do not particularly like. They seem to be taking their cues from the Cable TV medium - say what Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, or Bill Maher deem appropriate or stand up for ridicule. The New York Times is nothing if not terribly sensitive to criticism from the political Left - delicate and fragile.

I hope that John McCain parts company with these delicate flowers. The Opinion Hothouse that Obama's handlers own is unforgiving - ask Ryan Lizza!

Give the New York Times a nod and then move on - a polite, perfunctory heads -up regular guy salute and keep walking.

Let them assume that you are only interested in talking to your right wing friends - whoever the hell they are! Allow bloated mopes like Olbermann to soil his britches in straining to make a point about the cartoon of your character that Obama's handlers strain to make. You have the voters. It is deeds and not rhetoric that people will support in the voting booth.

Thank the New York Times for their endorsement of you in the Primaries, Senator McCain and then ignore them. They are too delicate for the bare-knuckled world of deeds and not words.

John McCain: "How Many Progressive Grassroots Community Activists in a National Police Force?"

"All of them."

Yes, Sir Senator! George (Soros) sent you! He's paying.

Obama: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

John McCain: Jerry Garcia Endorses Obama: "I don't think that Slaughterhouse-Five was successful movie material. "

The Grateful Dead has endorsed Senator Barack Obama. From today's Chicago Sun Times, a newspaper as Dead as Jerry Garcia!

‘‘We’re not making plans, but I think we stand at the ready to be of service,’’ Hart says. ‘‘We’re all deeply into this, into Barack Obama and the thought of taking this country back in some shape or form, what’s left of it — it’s probably one thing we can all agree on! So, you bet, I would spend a night with my brothers for that any time, any place.’’

Hart says that he and the other Dead alumni have exchanged ‘‘a few friendly e-mails’’ about doing something more for the campaign, but no firm details have been set. ‘‘That’s all there really needs to be until the moment really comes,’’ he notes.

Weir says the Dead men like Obama ‘‘for different reasons.’’ Mostly, he explains, ‘‘I think it may be the last chance in our lifetimes to get money out of politics, to show special interests the door. It’s also a chance to get younger people involved in politics for the first time in many years; once they’re involved, I think they’ll stay and that’s important because it’s their future being decided now.’’

Weir, who initially supported John Edwards’ presidential bid, adds that he liked what he’s read about Obama’s position on the environment, which is his primary interest. Weir is putting together an ‘‘environmental project’’ that he hopes to announce ‘‘in the next few weeks. I have to get on the phone and see if I can bring some folks on board, and if I can do that then it’ll be time for a roll-out.’’

Hart, meanwhile, is in the midst of a busy summer debuting his new Mickey Hart Band, which includes longtime associate Steve Kimock on guitar, former Meters bassist George Porter, Jr., drummer Walfredo Reyes, Jr., talking drum virtuoso Sikiru, singer Jen Durkin and String Cheese Incident keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth.

‘‘It’s a sizzling band,’’ Hart gushes, ‘‘very powerful. It’s not like a regular rock’n’roll band; it does rock, but it’s very fierce in its rhythmic dexterity.’’

The group has been on the road since early June and plays the inaugural Rothbury Festival on Thursday in Rothbury, Mich., then the Lake View Music Fest on Saturday in Chicago and Sunday at theMilwaukee Summerfest.

Its repertoire includes several new songs written by Hart and Kimock with lyricist Robert Hunter, which Hart says he’s been accumulating in recent years.

‘‘I would say there’s about 16 of them,’’ he says. ‘‘I’ve been saving them up over the years. We’ve been writing — I just didn’t have the band to play ’em. This band was actually constructed specifically to play these songs.’’

Hart — who recently released the ‘‘Rhythm Devils Concert Experience’’ DVD and ‘‘The Mickey Hart Collection,’’ a boxed set of his solo work — hopes to get his new band in the studio some time this year to record the new material.

Founding guitarist and icon the Late Jerry Garcia added these thoughts, 'So we are pretty convinced we don't want to play huge stadiums unless we can play them well.'

Which seems to all but bar the drug happy band from playing for Obama, as the Illinois One Term U.S. Senator plays only to Leni Riefenstahl-like Houses. Undismayed the ever poignant Garcia added:'America is still mostly xenophobic and racist. That's the nature of America, I think.' Which melds nicely with Obama's consistent efforts.

Garcia also noted that' And as far as I'm concerned, it's like I say, drugs are not the problem. Other stuff is the problem. But hey, when you live in Watts, you need a little smack to get by, you know what I mean? You need something soft and comfortable in your life, 'cause you're not going to get it from what's around you. And society isn't going to give it to you.For me, the lame part of the Sixties was the political part, the social part. The real part was the spiritual part. I have all the patience in the world about Sirens. For me it's not a Grateful Dead project, it's a Me project. I mean, just because you're a musician doesn't mean all your ideas are about music. So every once in a while I get an idea about plumbing, I get an idea about city government, and they come the way they come.'

Share the load Brother.

John McCain: Obama wrong on Colombia, FARC, Ayers, Dohrn, and American Interests in General

John McCain returned from Colombia and three Americans and a Colombian Presidential candidate held by Marxist FARC terrorists fro six years were freed by Columbia's military with American assistance.

Senator Obama is wrong on America's Free Trade Agreement with Colombia, which is fighting Venezuela's dictator Hugo Chavez for the liberty of South American democracies - Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Brazil are all in danger from Chavez's ambitions for a Marxist Continent.

William Ayers has been and continues to be an influence on Obama. Ayers has a long history with Chavez.

From American Thinker:

Obama may already be working with Hugo Chavez and the narco-war against Colombia. Colombian troops March 1 nailed narco-guerilla leader Raul Reyes just across the border in Ecuador. In response, Chavez threatened to invade Columbia. Information on a laptop computer found with Reyes' corpse detailed the FARC guerillas'relations with both Venezuela and Ecuador and included a February 28 letter from Reyes to the FARC Secretariat. The letter details extensive FARC relations with the governments of Colombia and Ecuador and includes this item:

"The gringos called for a meeting with the minister to ask him to tell us they are interested in talking about several topics. They claim they new president in their country will be Obama and that these people are interested in their fellow citizens. Obama will support neither Plan Colombia nor the signature of the Free Trade Agreement. In this regard, we replied we are interested in relations with the governments that are on equal grounds and that in the case of the United States, a public statement voicing their interest in talking to the FARC is needed, given their eternal war against us."

As Reyes predicted, on April 10 Democrats in Congress blocked enactment of a free trade treaty with Colombia -- in spite of the fact that Colombian exports are already allowed into the US without tariffs. Obama opposed the treaty, winning denunciation by Colombian president Uribe.

Obama is wrong - he is a Progressive Windsock. Obama is wrong on the Surge; he is wrong on Colombian Free Trade; Obama is dead wrong on Chavez and Senator Obama is wrong for the Office of President of the United States.

Barack Obama has had the wrong tutors ( Tony Rezko, Allison Davis, whose son Cullen is being sued for the wrongful death of three year old Curtis Cooper, Fr. Mike Pfleger, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and the dious couple of unrepentant terrorists Bernadine Dorhn and William Ayers) and he listened to them with rapt attention.

Pay attention to Senator Obama.

Pay attention to John McCain. In the days to come the man who roughed up a Sandinista jefe back in the 1980's* will prove to be more than right on Colombia - just as he has been on the Surge.

*
The two senators have made peace since the remarks. Cochran said McCain included him on a recent campaign visit to Meridian. He told the Sun Herald on Monday that McCain, whose ancestors lived in north Mississippi, is the best man for the job.

But Cochran said he observed McCain engage in a physical confrontation with a Sandinista while participating in a diplomatic mission led by Sen. Bob Dole and others in the fall of 1987. Cochran, McCain - who had won election to the Senate that year - and other members of a bipartisan committee of lawmakers called the Central American Negotiations Observer Group - met with Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, head of the left-wing political party known as Sandinistas, about tensions in the region.

The atmosphere was tense, as the U.S. was pressing "pretty hard." Cochran noticed a disturbance at the meeting table in a room lined with armed personnel.

"McCain was down at the end of the table and we were talking to the head of the guerilla group here at this end of the table and I don't know what attracted my attention," Cochran said. "But I saw some kind of quick movement at the bottom of the table and I looked down there and John had reached over and grabbed this guy by the shirt collar and had snatched him up like he was throwing him up out of the chair to tell him what he thought about him or whatever. I don't know what he was telling him but I thought, good grief, everybody around here has got guns and we were there on a diplomatic mission. I don't know what had happened to provoke John but he obviously got mad at the guy and he just reached over there and snatched him."

No punches were thrown and the two sat back down, Cochran said. The man, who appeared ruffled after the confrontation with McCain, was an Ortega associate, but Cochran said he was unsure of his identity.

Flash-forward 21 years. Tuesday, McCain was traveling in Central America and he stopped in Colombia. In 2006 Ortega won his office back after losing a 1990 election.

John McCain: AP - The Poll Smears the Homosexual '90's; 18th Century Playwright John Homosexual and Midway Hero Ens. George Homosexual

This morning Associated Press ( AP) told me that I would rather have 'Cue with Slim Barry than Tiger John McCain. Not so. That would be akin to attending a Mahler Series at Chicago Symphony with one who enjoys Theresa Brewer Hits. I have personally witnessed Senator Obama's avian-like nips at the Spartan paper plates at Cousin Willie's St. Paddy's Day Irish Breakfast and at the free buffet at Leo High School Boxing Nights at Bourbon Street.

Barack, quite frankly my dears, eats like Gandhi with the trots 'No, thank you, I have had quite enough - this one seedless grape was wonderful; I am a Muslim and a Hindu and a Christian and a Jew and so are all of you.'

While I have it on the very best authorities, a couple of guys I know, that Senator McCain dines likes the cautionary words of Mammy to Scarlet O'Hara in Gone with the Wind -'eat like a field hand and gobble like a hog!

This afternoon, I learned from my pal, Skinnydipedinacid ( that is a Flemish name I believe) of Ankle Biting Pundits, that AP stepped on it's credibility Johnson with this FABULOUS story!

It appears that AP is indebted to some sponsor Word Nazis and any use of the word GAY is so offensive to them that GAY must be deleted and replace with the word Homosexual.

That ends any references to the

- 1890's in America known as the Homosexual Nineties

- 18th Century British Poet/Playwright author of the Beggar's Opera John Homosexual

- Battle of Midway hero and sole survivor of Torpedo Squadron 8 Ensign George Homosexual

Never gets to weird for me.

In times to come, if AP employs cut and paste methodologies, will an odd anachronistic study of Prohibition in the last decade of the 19th Century in America be titled - The Roaring Homosexual 90's?

'Had to ask. The Flintstones, I might add 'had a Homosexual Old Time!'

Do! Please do, click my post title for the link to AP's Homosexual Olympic Report!

John McCain: AP's Racist Poll- Plays The 'Cue Card!

"People would rather barbecue burgers with Barack Obama than with John McCain."

The 'Que Card gets Played in the ginned up ( Bumpy Face - n'cest pas?) Presidential Campaign. Does Associated Press need to further Balkanize American Voters?

O Tempora! O Argia B's Mumbo Sauce!

Click my post title for AP Poll that smacks of race baiting and Class Warfare - without the mopping sauce!

Empirically speaking, I could see John McCain nailing a greasy brown bag of fried 'listeners,' but I doubt very much that Barack Obama has tried this delicacy.

While many are still deciding who should be president, by 52 percent to 45 percent they would prefer having Obama than McCain to their summer cookout, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo News poll released Wednesday.

Men are about evenly divided between the two while women prefer Obama by 11 percentage points. Whites prefer McCain, minorities Obama. And Obama is a more popular guest with younger voters while McCain does best with the oldest.

Having Obama to a barbecue would be like a relaxed family gathering, while inviting McCain "would be more like a retirement party than something fun," said Wesley Welbourne, 38, a systems engineer from Washington, D.C.

Party label means a lot, with three-quarters of Democrats picking the Democrat Obama and the same number of Republicans picking McCain, a Republican. Independents are about evenly split.

"John and I would probably have a lot to talk about," said Republican Michael Mullen, 53, of Merrimac, Mass., like McCain a Navy veteran.

One in six people saying they'd vote for McCain prefer Obama as their barbecue guest; just one in 20 Obama backers would invite McCain.

The AP-Yahoo News survey of 1,759 adults was conducted online by Knowledge Networks from June 13-23 and had an overall margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.3 percentage points. The margin of sampling error for subgroups was larger.

Another study conducted during the Primary suggests that perhaps racist stereotyping might be at the core of the Poll Conducted by AP.

Stereotype: black people love BBQ
So last month's poll - If you were stranded on a desert island with the presidential candidates and forced to eat someone to survive, who do you think would taste the best? I'm proud of how my site brings up a lot of conversation about race, the perception of fat people, and double entendre.

Case in point: gchat with gks

me: who did you vote for on my poll?
gks: barack obama
dark meat
tastes better
me: he doesn't have any fat
garry: lean cuts are better for you
me: not as delicious
and he's a smoker
garry: char grilled flavor
me: ha! good point
I voted for huckabee
garry: lol
me: then I realized you could read the poll in a really dirty way but it was too late to rephrase

http://anditwasawednesday.blogspot.com/2008/01/stereotype-black-people-love-bbq.html

Another study conducted by scholarly and poetic Byron Crawford points to the fact that Barbecue is a litmus test for white ( boring) and black ( FLAVA!) acceptability concerning the consumption of comestibles al fresco:

St. Louis Stories #7
While we're not as known for it as Memphis or Kansas City, St. Louis actually consumes more barbecue per capita than anywhere else in the country. It's a fact that I once saw on the infamous Food Network, before anybody goes questioning my statistics. Pretty much wherever you are, you're not that far from either a Super Smokers (former employer of yours truly) or its main competitor Bandanas.

Which is cool.

Up until I was like 15 or 16 I didn't really know shit about white people's barbecue. I had eaten a few rib dinners at places like Applebees, and especially those "riblets" things that used to be all you can eat back in the day, but I didn't really know shit about a pulled pork sandwich, which is like the main feature at white barbecue resturants.

Come to think of it, I might have had one or two of them from the KC Masterpiece restaurant in Creve Coeur, but there's a reason you never hear people talk about it anymore. In fact, it might not even still be there. But the main barbecue sandwich I was into at that point was the infamous rib tip sandwich from this place called C&K.

That's it pictured above via Maxim Online, which once did a feature on it, but you can't really see that in addition to the actual rib tips soaked in copious amounts of barbecue sauce and the oh, so necessary white bread, it also comes with a layer of potato salad in between the tips and the Wonder. The whole thing comes wrapped in a sheet of butcher's paper roughly the size of a Twister mat and is basically impossible to eat as a regular sandwich.

Needless to say, it's arguably the best thing you could possibly eat. Nullus.

But then a regular old cracka-ass cracka pulled pork sandwich is pretty dang good, too. In typical white people's barbecue fashion, it consists of nothing more than a handful of pulled pork shoulder on a hamburger bun - the idea being that if you put anything else on it, it might take away from the taste of the meat, which I've written about before. Some people, especially southerners, have been known to put slaw on them, which I tried once and found to be actually not a bad idea.

If there's an issue, it's that C&K is deep, deep down in the ghetto, far enough that it's really not worth going. Because it's nowhere near the highway, you run the risk of getting lost and getting yourself into some deep, deep shit. There are other black 'cue joints scattered about, but nobody really bothers with them, unless you're just really into snoots or some shit. White 'cue restaurants, on the other hand, are - like I said - literally all over the place.

Quod Erat Demonstrandum!

Let' s get beyond race! Remember Obama's speech in Philadelphia that made Chris 'Milky' Matthews pee his britches? The one that got Grannie tossed under the rolling and the parade of others now jacking up the bus to greater elevation via the body count?

Let's get beyond barbecue and eat it!

John McCain McCain Serves Americans; Obama Serves Himself and Goldman Sachs

David Brooks has a brilliant bit of investigative journalism in today's New York Times Op-Ed Section.

Brooks picks apart Obama's muscrat dodge about 'small donors' feeding his Machine, when in fact the New Patricians engage in a financial class struggle with Old Dough.

Over the past several years, the highly educated coastal rich have been engaged in a little culture war with the inland corporate rich. This is a war over values, leadership styles and social networks.

Socially liberal knowledge workers naturally want to see people like themselves at the head of society, not people who used to run Halliburton and who are supported by a vast army of evangelicals.

If the Democrats are elected, this highly educated class will have much more say over policy than during the campaign. Undecided voters sway campaigns, but in government, elites generally run things. Once the Republicans are vanquished, I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for that capital gains tax hike or serious measures to expand unionization. ( emphasis my own)

Over the past few years, people from Goldman Sachs have assumed control over large parts of the federal government. Over the next few they might just take over the whole darn thing.

Earlier Brooks points out 'The Truth' painted over by the Obama Campaign -

When you break it out by individual companies, you find that employees of Goldman Sachs gave more to Obama than workers of any other employer. The Goldman Sachs geniuses are followed by employees of the University of California, UBS, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, National Amusements, Lehman Brothers, Harvard and Google. At many of these workplaces, Obama has a three- or four-to-one fund-raising advantage over McCain.

When he is swept up in rhetorical fervor, Obama occasionally says that his campaign is 90 percent funded by small donors. He has indeed had great success with small donors, but only about 45 percent of his money comes from donations of $200 or less.

The real core of his financial support is something else, the rising class of information age analysts. Once, the wealthy were solidly Republican. But the information age rewards education with money. There are many smart high achievers who grew up in liberal suburbs around San Francisco, L.A. and New York, went to left-leaning universities like Harvard and Berkeley and took their values with them when they became investment bankers, doctors and litigators.

Click my post title for this great analysis by David Brooks

No clinging gun-toting church goers identify that thick-walleted demographic.

McCain stands strong against America's enemies, merciless taxation, Abortion, eroding American Education, special interests and the devaluing of common sense.

Obama is a shining shill for powerful and dangerous opportunists. Nice work Mr. Brooks.

Obama's entire Campaign is dependant upon rhetorical Novocain and self-absorption.

John McCain: Take Obama 'Downtown' for a Ride

Obama's oily use of Gen. Wes Clark on Meet the Press was the latest example of the Jackassing of a President - the Moveon.org, Daily Kos, Huffington Post, MSNBC script to slip a one term, unvetted, storyboarded. character into the White House.

Muscrat Barack got some yardage from Wes Clark's disparaging and sadly self-serving interview with Bob Schieffer who took Clark to task for his obvious willingness to dance on his own chest of ribbons, like a military Bill Ayers, for a shot at the Vice Presidency. Obama took what he could and characteristically ducked under the pond scum:

Clark's remarks set off a familiar pattern from earlier tussles over criticism: the candidates, Obama and McCain, took the high road while the harsh language was left to surrogates.

Obama, without mentioning Clark by name, said that patriotism "must, if it is to mean anything, involve the willingness to sacrifice."

Obama tossed Wes under the bus with his Grannie, his Real Estate agent Tony Rezko, his Crazy Uncle Jere, and even the unctious Father Mike - It is strange that Obama has not tossed Billy Ayers under the Greyhound, too much money and Lefty Influence I imagine.

It is time for John McCain to open up on Barack Obama. He is a soft target. Drop the ordnance on this cupcake. Tell the Truth on Obama, Senator McCain - He can't handle the Truth!

Obama deserves to be a footnote in history -The Audacity of Hubris.

John McCain: Bubba to Barack - 'Pucker Up, Son!' Kiss Right, Left, or Middle Now That's Unity!

'Ain' No thing, Young'un! Done More of that than any man alive . . . well, runner up anyway. Get 'er Done!' A Sharpton 6/29/2008

Ah, Unity!

President Bill Clinton is an affectionate - demonstrative man.

Following close on the heels of Friday's Unity New Hampshire Hugging with Hillary Hootenany, Hugh Hewitt reports on a Telegraph.com U.K. story that former First Hubby and Two Time President of the United States William Jefferson Clinton ( for whom I voted on two occassions)request that Senator Barack Obama show him the love!

A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could "kiss my ass" in return for his support. . . .But his lingering fury has shocked his friends. The Democrat told the Telegraph: "He's been angry for a while. But everyone thought he would get over it. He hasn't. I've spoken to a couple of people who he's been in contact with and he is mad as hell.

"He's saying he's not going to reach out, that Obama has to come to him. One person told me that Bill said Obama would have to quote kiss my ass close quote, if he wants his support.

"You can't talk like that about Obama - he's the nominee of your party, not some house boy you can order around
( emphasis my own - HOUSE Boy? Only a Reefer Madness afflicted Sixty Something elite Barbara Streisand/Alec Baldwin Progressive Democrat DNC could possibly say something like HOUSEBOY????? Norman Lear? Who said it? 'Jack Soo!!! Where are You? Oh, Rochester?' Houseboy!!!!!!!!!!!! Had to be Bob Creamer or some other HuffPo loser)

Click my post title for the Full Monty!
My question - Mr. President: Should Senator Obama Pucker Up and Plant One - But Where? Left Cheek? As an Homage to Progressive Democrats. Right Cheek? To Please Evangelicals Everywhere? Or Right in the Middle for all of us Clinging and Bitter Americans?

John McCain: Obama McGeneral Calls John McCain Phat!

General McPeak ( a Four Star Jerque if you ask me)says that the former guest of the Hanoi Hilton is too fat. Well, Merrill, you can lose fat, but stupid is forever.

Gen. Merrill A. McPeak, the Air Force chief of staff during 1991 Desert Storm, told The Washington Times he and Mr. McCain sat in the same National War College class of 1973-74. Mr. McCain, then a Navy commander, had been released by North Vietnam in March 1973 and arrived at the Fort McNair campus in July.

"We both graduated," Gen. McPeak said of what is considered a ticket-punching step up the ladder to higher rank.

Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

Mr. McCain, a fighter pilot just like Gen. McPeak, was seeking to restart a military career after nearly six years of harsh treatment in North Vietnam.

"He was fresh out of jail, you know," Gen. McPeak said. "Skinny kid. All beat up of course, physically. But quite thin. They weren't feeding him very well in Hanoi. He's done very well at the dinner table in Washington."

Gen. McPeak also said Mr. McCain received special favors when he returned to the U.S.

"McCain was always kind of an exception," Gen. McPeak said.

When told about Gen. McPeak's comments, Mr. McCain's roommate in the Hanoi Hilton was not amused.

"Surely a four-star general can come up with something better than that," said Orson Swindle, a former Marine Corps pilot who, like Mr. McCain, was shot down over enemy territory. "It wreaks of pettiness and sarcasm, and I can't imagine why he can make that kind of comment to imply that John McCain feasts at the Washington establishment."

"It's just disappointing to see someone who rose to four-start rank be so petty," said Mr. Swindle, who is campaigning for the Republican senator.

Well, Merrill, you are with the right crowd now, Stay there. The votes will be as regally slim as your character.

Take a look at Fat Man McCain around the same time that Senator Obama was a chubby little boy, up above - I'd buy that man a Meatball Sandwich Deluxe 24/7.

Fat goes - Stupid is forever McPeak!

John McCain: Obama Padded By Hot House Flowers - Not Reporters

"You will recall that for my entire political career here, I was not the the endorsed candidate of any political organization here," the Democratic presidential hopeful said at the Westin Hotel downtown. "I didn't go around wielding a bunch of clout. My reputation in Springfield was as an independent. There is no doubt I had friends and continue to have friends who come out of the more traditional school of Chicago politics but that's not what launched my political career and that's not what I've ever depended on to get elected, and I would challenge any Chicago reporter to dispute that basic fact."

Why yes, yes I do recall! As memory serves, Lo these many years of your 'entire political career here' in Chicago. However, your reputation was that of a Democratic block voter - really, more of a "Present Voter" in Springfield, IL. But, then I am no reporter for a 'great Metropolitician Newspaper' doing the bidding of a Cheryl Reed - remember Cheryl?

Now lookee, here! In the very same paper, someone other than Abdon Pallasch - whom I teasingly on the square refered to as one of David Brooks's Chicago Hothouse Flowers in a recnt comment in Chicago Daily Observer - the only Independent source in Chicago for news, opinion, witty discourse, snappy patter and slim obfuscation! Abdon had a piece recently on Father Pfleger's return to St. Sabina.

My remarks:

Abdon Pallasch - An Orchid of the Greatest Delicacy!

Cymbidium - Insulated, Sprayed and plucked for impurities by the custodiand of the Chicago Media Hothouses.

Abdon digs for rock-bed truths with a balsa wood shovel!

Ben Hecht with a titwillow's heart!

http://hickeysite.blogspot.com/2008/0...

Today Abdon is shilling for Obama again in the Sun Times, while three other reporters Chris Fusco, Tim Novack and Dave McKinney take up the Obama Challenge and point directly to another Chicago Style opportunist with long ties to Kid Hope!

Davis is a 67-year-old lawyer and real estate developer with long ties to Mayor Daley and Sen. Barack Obama, as well as to the governor.

He served on the Chicago Plan Commission and, with his former law firm, Davis Miner Barnhill & Galland, was a boss to Obama early in the presidential hopeful's career.

Davis was appointed to the unpaid post on the state pension board Feb. 13, 2003. On July 22, 2004, he recommended that the agency give RREEF up to $100 million to invest. RREEF was already handling $55 million for the board.

The next day, Davis voted to approve RREEF's deal.

In February 2005, RREEF agreed to put Davis on its board. He began working as a paid board member that April, state records show.

In a letter that June, Davis notified the pension board of his appointment and said, "To avoid any potential for, or appearance of, a conflict of interest, I will recuse myself from any vote of ISBI having to do with RREEF II."

That was all he needed to do, according to another pension board member, Illinois Appellate Court Justice Thomas E. Hoffman, who was the board's ethics officer. In fact, Hoffman thought Davis' role "was to ISBI's advantage," according to the minutes of the pension board's June 22, 2005, meeting.

Neither Davis nor Hoffman responded to requests for comment.

The State Board of Investment's executive director, William Atwood, calls Davis' service on both boards "an appropriate thing for him to do.

"The whole purpose of that directorship is to oversee the interest of investors," says Atwood. "Who better to do that than a member of our board?"

RREEF executives also defend Davis' arrangement, issuing a statement that says, in part: "Mr. Davis did not become a director of the REIT until several months after ISBI made its commitments, and no additional subscription commitments were made by ISBI after Mr. Davis was elected to the REIT's Board of Directors."

Siedle, the former SEC lawyer, questions why the pension board would want Davis on the investment firm's board. The state pension system's staff could monitor the investment as well as Davis could, says Siedle, who heads Benchmark Financial Services, a Florida firm. Also, Davis could not pass along any sensitive information to the state about RREEF without violating his fiduciary duty as a RREEF board member, he adds.

"Serving on the two boards simultaneously may create conflicting fiduciary duties and other dangers. . . . I can't see any benefit that would justify the risks," Siedle says.

After leaving his law practice, Davis became a developer, partnering on projects with Rezko. At Rezko's trial, prosecutors said Davis suggested to Rezko that "Million Dollar Baby" movie producer Tom Rosenberg -- a Davis friend who headed a pension-investment firm -- could be hit up for campaign contributions to Blagojevich.

Davis' term on the State Board of Investment expired in January 2007. He continues to serve because Blagojevich hasn't reappointed or replaced him.

Senator Obama "would challenge any Chicago reporter to dispute that basic fact."

Hey, How About Three? John Kass has taken up the Obama Challenge! Watch Out, Now! The Oak Lawn Greek is Holding Up Diogenes' Lamp! John Kass might have added this Greek Motto to the Obama Presidential Seal:

Poso kani ?

Vero Possumus! No wonder you goofs dumped that Seal!

John McCain: Mugabe and Obama Work off the Same Playbook - Redistribute Wealth!

'Barry, I told You! Redistribution of Land, Wealth, Property and Liberty Works Fine For Me! I got American Honory Degrees from Amherst! Keep Hope Alive, Kid!' Bob Mugabe

Mr. President, the United States must continue to stand strongly against the Mugabe government’s abuses of power in Zimbabwe. We must join with our European allies, the United Nations, and – most importantly – the countries and institutions of the region to press for positive change in Zimbabwe. That means a peaceful democratic transition in 2008, and support for economic growth and opportunity – including the lifting of sanctions – once the dark cloud of Mugabe’s rule is lifted, and Zimbabweans are able again to reach for the new horizon they deserve.
Senator Barack Obama March 15, 2007

Hold the phone there Senator, Mugabe is merely doing what you will do as President - Redistribute Wealth, Property and Liberty.

Her's Bob Gibbs, your mouthpiece!

"He's going to raise taxes on those wealthy lobbyists that work for the McCain campaign," Obama's communications director Robert Gibbs

Two Megablocks in the Lego (of property and capital)Land that is Obama-nomics SEIU and the AFSCME People get their raises from 'redistribution of wealth' practices, as do the Public School Teachers and Employee lobbies.

Tax-payers buck up everytime Andy Stern yanks the chain on his pets - Editorial Boards and Spineless Politicians. Barack Obama appreciates the SEIU labelfrom his long association with Progressive Purse Puppy Politicians who leap when Purple Andy whistles. SEIU orchestrated the Big Box Boondoggle Ordinance in Chicago, until Andy Stern exercised his squeeze and sweetheart deal with Wal-Mart. Then Andy called off the dogs.

Obama is an old school Progressive, like the lads who licked Robert 'Bob' Mugabe's toes. Dig this from the Spectator in May last year:

I first saw Robert Mugabe in the flesh at a UN Earth Summit in Johannesburg in 2002.

His arrival on the podium was preceded by US defence secretary Colin Powell, who was booed and jeered, and by Tony Blair, who met with similar indignities. Mugabe, on the other hand, was greeted by a tumultuous standing ovation. I wrote it off as a passing fad. At the time, black power fanatics were still pumped up over Mugabe's ethnic cleansing of white farmers, and one assumed their enthusiasm would wear off once the consequences of Mugabe's folly manifested themselves.

Not so. By 2004, Zimbabwe's economy was in freefall and his subjects were growing hungry, but Mugabe was more popular than ever.

No, not in Zimbabwe. His fans were black people elsewhere. He received standing ovations in many African capitals, and at President Mbeki's 2004 swearing-in ceremony.

By then, it was clear that his 'fast-track landreform programme' had not significantly reversed his unpopularity at home, and he had already taken to bludgeoning black opponents and rigging elections in order to stay in power.

His black supporters didn't care. Mugabe was giving the whites hell. Mugabe was therefore a hero. 'Mugabe is speaking for black people worldwide, ' wrote the Johannesburg commentator Harry Mashabela.

One assumed this accounted for the Mbeki administration's reluctance to criticise Mugabe in public. We were told that the situation in Zimbabwe was delicate, and that 'quiet diplomacy' offered the best shot at staving off anarchy. For a while this seemed plausible, but in time it became clear that quiet diplomacy was mostly a cover for covert support. When Western members of the Commonwealth moved to expel Mugabe, South Africa helped block them. South Africa also thwarted attempts to place his atrocities on the agenda at the UN Security Council and the UN Human Rights Committee. Meanwhile, the rape of Zimbabwe gained momentum, and Mugabe's popularity swelled to rock-star proportions. Last year, the cocky little psychopath informed an audience of African-American New Yorkers that his rule had created 'an unprecedented era of peace and tranquillity' back home. They gave him a standing ovation.

One understands the wounds of history, but even so one believed there would come a day when Mugabe's militant fans realised their behaviour was restoring the reputation of Ian Smith, who prophesised that Rhodesia would be 'buggered' if the blacks took over.

By the beginning of this year, Smith was utterly vindicated. Eight out of ten Zimbabweans were jobless, and those who had work were screwed anyway, because inflation was 2,200 per cent and they couldn't afford anything. Hospitals and schools were collapsing, factories closing. Millions were facing starvation. In a report for the Sunday Times four months ago R.W. Johnson interviewed a game ranger who said Zimbabwe's hyenas were developing a taste for human flesh, the result of scavenging on corpses 'cast into collective pits like cattle'. He concluded that Mugabe's misrule had resulted in as many as two million deaths -- twice as many as perished in the Rwandan genocide -- and that 'the number is now heading into regions previously explored only by Stalin, Mao and Adolf Eichmann.' It was against this backdrop that the UN's Commission on Sustainable Development met to elect a new leader last Friday. The chair of this body rotates between regions; this year it fell to Africa to make an appointment, and African countries were bent on installing Mugabe's man. Western diplomats initially thought this was some sort of joke, but as the day passed, it emerged that Africans were indeed of the opinion that a body dedicated to fostering development could credibly be chaired by a murderous regime that had reduced a once-thriving nation to absolute penury. The West was dumbfounded. 'Beyond parody, ' said an Australian newspaper columnist. 'Appalling, ' said his Prime Minister, John Howard. 'Preposterous, ' said the American human rights lobby Freedom House. But Africans wangled support from Latin America and their motion was carried.

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3724/is_20070519/ai_n19163068/pg_1?tag=artBody;col1

Then in February Obama and Shapeshiffter VP Wannabe Chuck Hagel tried to run this by the American taxpayer:

Unnoticed by most Americans this week, the Obama/Hagel GLOBAL POVERTY ACT was quickly approved by a senate committee and cleared for the next step, debate in a democrat-controlled senate.

The GLOBAL POVERTY ACT is unique in its breathtaking scope. It is not foreign-aid. The Act will require the President and Congress to set aside .07% of the annual gross national product - our GNP - to be distributed around the globe to relieve poverty at a cost of about $800 billion dollars annually to taxpayers. It is Barack Obama’s response to the call of the Bali Global Warming Conference for a global carbon tax; a blatant redistribution of the planet’s wealth to the “powerless”.

Coupled with his riveting stump speeches which generate huge emotional reactions from his equally huge audiences - speeches which literally call for a redistribution of wealth right here at home as well - Barack Obama’s sponsorship of the GLOBAL POVERTY ACT gives us a chilling preview of an Obama presidency.

Obama is being scripted by Bob Mugabe's Cheerleaders. Mugabe is still killing with impunity in Zimbabwe.

With SEIU, AFSCME People, ACORN, Billy Ayers, George Soros, and Hollywood Morons calling Obama's tunes, how ccan anyone not vote for an American - John McCain!

John McCain" Huffington Post - Buzz Obama's 527 24/7

Senator Buzz Obama, like Sinclair Lewis's character Buzz Windrip, won't engage John McCain without a Leni Riefenstahl Pageant format - The Audacity of Hype.

There will be no Townhall exchange with Senator John McCain.

Obama's mass of Soros funded Daily Kos, MSNBC, Movon.Org allow the inexperienced and shadowy Illinois Senator to keep his distance from the American People.

Buzz Obama fronts some dangerous and well-heeled people: Soros/DNC/ACLU/Ayers/Rezko/Pfleger/Dohrn/Wright/Farrakhan/SEIU/ACORN/AFCSME/Hollywood/CAIR/Chavez & etc.

That is the Grassroots support. Seems to me like Obama Campaign is Bundling and laundering millions via the Internet and passing it off as Grassroots.

When Obama trotted out his Great Seal of Self-Absorption - he tipped his hand.

Sinclair Lewis's cautionary tale It Can't Happen Here is must reading for all patriots. It is a great read.

Huffington Post is an attack 527 100% in the Obama Campaign. Give it a look. It is packed with bad writing from third tier talents. More people look at celebrity magazines than they do the The Atlantic. Some goofs actually believe that Keith Olbermann has something to say. Go figure. Rachel Madddow is no Dorothy Parker.
