Sun Times Editorial Board Tries to Influence Chicago Fraternal Order of Police Run-Off Election

Image result for Sun Times 2008 front page west side riot photo of chicago cop bring it on

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has referred to city workers as neighborhood “anchors,” saying they are critical to the vibrancy of the city. Former Mayor Richard M. Daley, speaking more practically, used to warn the city could lose a large share of its middle class if the residency requirement were lifted. . . . For everybody else, as cops like to say, rules are rules. Sun Times

The only proper reply to such smarmy hypocrisy is " bite me."  Usually I am much more verbally adept, glib, and such but Sun Times has wowed me with this one.  Quoting from our Globalist Red China and Russian trade partner and University of Chicago don, Mayor Mumbles, takes the brie.

Today's screed is less about fairness than usual; it is about influencing the Fraternal Order of Police election run-off.

No paper has done more to drive a wedge between Chicago citizens and the Chicago Police officers who risk life, limb and personal reputation every time they answer roll call than the Chicago Sun Times.

From Mark Brown's "bring it on" editorializing a front page photo implying that a police officer was egging on already active West Side  rioters in 2008, to the Watchdogs' media lynching of a cop for the past month, to Andy Grimm's 'investigation' of a property owner who wears a badge, to this morning's Editorial Board's Harrumph of their 'phony baloney jobs,'  the Sun Times is the defender of the Chicago oligarchy.

Forrest Claypool could roll a crippled blind girl selling Girl Scout cookies at State and Madison and Tom Frisbie would mew, "Ever the Reformist, Claypool put an end to this Thin Mint hustler's hawking."  If a cop helped three little girls in Englewood, he would be violating their right to privacy.

The FOP is at a cross-roads.  The current leadership seems to do more to aid the comfortable and afflict the general membership, than it does to call out the hypocrisies and blatant corruption of City and County leadership.

The Sun Times has always nuzzled the rumps at City Hall more than it has sunk the fangs of a Tim Novak into the keisters of Rahm or Dame Preckwinkle.

I don't have a vote. I am not a cop.  I honor their work and am appalled by their treatment in the Chicago Media, so wrapped up with the people who created Chicago's Thug Comfort Zone ( Marxist lawyers, race baiting pastors and the University centered and funded Wrongful America Industry.

A vitalized FOP would be burr under the saddle of the comfortable oligarchs making millions off of the shrinking Chicago middle class and that could mean tougher access to weasels for Fran Spielman and Michael Sneed, doncha know?

This must stop.  Stop buying these rags.  Read The Second City Cop

Chicago Employee Pension Literature Proves ManPower Shortage, not "Systemic Racism, or Code of Silence" Behind ChiRaq's Crime Rates

Image result for demoralized chicago cops

Police Blogger, The Second City Cop (SCC), fought fake news from the Chicago media for decades; in fact, Sneed, Frank Main and Fran Spielman often pluck SSC's low-handing fruits of fact to shore up their propaganda efforts on behalf of the 5th Floor.

Along with left-leaning, but always fair-minded and honest Beachwood Reporter, Second City Cop opens my eyes to a new day, long before they labor over the ink spilled by any Chicago daily.

Today, using a brochure for City of Chicago Pensioners, SCC clearly addresses the decades long manpower shortage that burdens hard working Chicago peace officers. Pointing to a graph featuring annual employee contributions, SCC illustrates the lie told by Chicago media at the behest of Mayors Daley and Emanuel.

That is the manpower paying into the pension for the CPD, from 2006 thru 2015. And it shows, beyond any doubt, that manpower dwindled from 13,749 to 12,061 - a reduction of 1,688 officers. If you don't think that has a lot to do with the current rising crime trends, well, we can't help you. The Second City Cop

I get my news from many sources.  SCC is one of the most reliable.

Second City Cop Provides " The DOJ Report on Policing; by Dummies and for Dummies"

Image result for end of watch cpd

I have always said that the some of smartest people on earth are ER nurses, fire fighters and cops.  I am a high school teacher.

ER. nurses, fire fighters and police officers witness man and his works at the most crucial and actually do something about it with hearts, heads and hands.

Most other vocations play it.

The Department of Justice issued a rushed, pre-fabricated and hateful tome condemning police officers, not the oily and cowardly politicians and grifters who make police policy, as racist, trigger happy brutes.

A cop, The Second City Cop, who works as a cop and citizen journalist has studied 2/3rds of this weighty smear and provides some insight to the arch-manipulators who have created Chicago's Thug Comfort Zone.

This is a DOJ Report for us Dummies ( civilians):

DOJ Report
So we're about two-thirds of the way through, but far enough along to have drawn certain conclusions and formed opinions. This was put together by a politicized Department and an obviously partisan Administration for the sole purpose of advancing an agenda. That Hillary lost lent an unseemly speed to the conclusion and de-legitimizes many of the supposed "findings."
Evidence of haste can be found almost immediately:
Page 2, paragraph 3: 60 ride-alongs
Given that there are 279 police beats, three watches, that's 837 potential ride-alongs. Not to mention rapid response, traffic, 06, tact, saturation, gang enforcement, boats, horses, god knows how many administrative and undercover beats, there's probably nearly 1,200 potential ride-alongs in a 24 hour period. The DOJ claims they spent "300 person-days" here, that's 360,000 opportunities to ride-along.
.016% - sixteen thousandths of one percent
We've taken a few math courses in our time and this isn't even close to what would be considered a valid statistical representation. There's more:
340 individual CPD members (out of a supposed 12,000 - 2.8%)
1,000 community members (.037% of 2.7 million)
90 community organizations (out of ?); are any citizens listed above part of this group?
"family members of individuals who were killed by CPD officers" (how many were justifiable shootings?); and again, are these persons from either of the previous groups?
"local researchers, academics, and lawyers who have studied CPD extensively for decades (gee, lets guess - Futterman, Ayers, Loevy, Protess - how close were we?)
In other words, people with ingrained prejudices against the police, people with histories versus the police, people whose livelihood relies on suing the police - people with axes to grind. How many of these "interviewees" fit into one or more of those categories? How many were selected at random, or did they all volunteer to come forward with their stories? We know that certain retirees who left or resigned under investigation were all to eager to sit with the DOJ to air their supposed "grievances."
More importantly, how many of these stories fall outside the supposed window of 2011 to 2016? Some? Many? All? We don't know because in every single example cited throughout the report, no dates are given. Some of these stories could be ten or twenty years old. Maybe more, seeing as how they bring up Burge who has been gone for almost 25 years now.
A slapdash report like this, with minimal footnotes and references, calls into question the validity of the rest of the "conclusions" if they're based on faulty metrics. But don't expect a lazy media in thrall to Rahm and his cronies to take any serious look behind the curtain.

Thank you Officer, stay safe and stay fetal for as long as clowns make policy.

An Approved Sun Times Letter Writer Is Way Off Base on Police Officers

(Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images)OPINION (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images)
Wednesday letters: Cops not alone in contending with danger

In an editorial last week, you asked what other job, other than police officer, requires people to “take such a risk.” Residents of black, brown, poor or mixed-income communities with high crime rates take those risks every day — in every aspect of our lives. We risk our lives stepping out our front doors, watching TV in our front rooms while listening to shots fired outside, riding public transportation to and from work, and, worst of all, being stopped and harassed or assaulted by those charged to “serve and protect.”

I have been robbed on the L on the way home from work, mugged returning to my office from lunch and assaulted by a drunken security guard at a music festival. I have been a passenger when my partner was stopped for “driving while black.” On numerous occasions, persons who thought my small stature made me an easy target tried to intimidate or maul me on the street or on the CTA. How many police officers have experienced as many dangerous situations as I have? I am not armed, nor do I wear a bullet-proof vest or carry a badge of authority. Nevertheless, I have been able to intervene when I have seen wrongdoing.

Police officers need to quit whining and focus on being part of the solution, not part of the problem. The press needs to stop calling police heroic for doing the jobs they are paid to do. If all police are heroes, so is everybody — residents, teachers, mail carriers, etc. — who live or work in high-crime areas.

Muriel B#$%^, Hyde Park (emphases my own)

Sorry for your troubles Muriel, it is a jungle out there.  Even more of a jungle.

You and I have first world problems; cops attempt to keep Chicago from sliding into Third World status - NPR loves The Third World, emerging nations, developing countries and diverse cultures, but it really hates American culture.  I expect you just might be a huge fan of public radio, television and the Progressive weltanschauung it promotes, when not talking pledge drive.

Life in Chicago can be combative.  The only people who answer calls to danger are cops and firemen; newsmen hear about the calls; activists get a heads up from the editors, or social media.

Only cops and fire fighters show up to stop brawls, thefts, murders, harassments, sexual predators and public nuisances. You and I and other witnesses stand on the wrong side of the yellow tape.  We can have our thoughts and opinions so long as they are somewhat fair.

I believe you are out of line.  No biggie.  You have a great deal of company from our President, to Mary Schmich to Ja'mal Green.

Read, however, the recent account of a midnight shift reporter and his three years in the jungle hell of Chicago's Thug Comfort Zone.

Peter Nickeas has written an account worthy of John Steinbeck and Richard Tregaskis's World War II correspondence.

The first scene I went to on my next shift was the shooting of the man police suspected of the previous night’s crime. He’d been shot on the West Side and was in critical condition. Police said he’d been set up by his getaway driver.
I barely had time to process any of that. The following night, multiple witnesses started calling in gunfire from a single neighborhood, many giving descriptions of the shooters. I was just a mile away. As I got closer, driving slow along a stretch of 47th Street where giant trees loomed overhead, creating the effect of a tunnel, I cracked my window, listening. There were no cops in sight. From about a block away, I saw a handful of guys standing in the street, one of them shooting. I saw the muzzle flash, could smell the smoke, saw it hanging over 47th Street in the cool blue of early morning. Everything slowed down at that moment. Each shot echoed and reverberated. It was as if I could feel the sound moving toward me.
I pulled over and watched the guys jump into two cars and start speeding in my direction. They flew past, toward the Dan Ryan Expressway. Two SUVs followed. I could hear the engine of the first one thrumming as it sped through a red light at the intersection where I was parked. The trailing SUV swerved around a van coming out of the old stockyards and careened through the intersection. I watched the SUVs in my rearview mirror, and just as I was thinking, Please don’t crash, they did. One into the back of the other.
Two guys jumped out of one of the SUVs and fled south. The other SUV kept flying toward the Dan Ryan. Feeling exposed, I pulled into a tiny parking lot just off the intersection and turned my lights off. A car circled the block twice. The third time, the driver slowed down, leaned forward to make eye contact with me, yelled something I couldn’t understand, and drove off. I waited a few seconds and, sensing a safe moment to get a little farther from the scene, started to pull away just as a police Tahoe approached. One of the officers got out, shouldered an AR-15, and made a wide circle around the passenger side of the smoldering SUV while his partner walked up to the driver’s side, right hand on her gun. I thought there was a chance that they would find a victim or a shooter inside, but the SUV was empty.
I got out to talk with the officers. They said the crashed vehicle was registered to someone who lived nearby. It was a “rammer,” bought by gangbangers for a few hundred dollars so they could wreck it chasing other guys around the neighborhood. In the end, no one had been shot. Just a bit of chaos, barely a city news footnote.
When it was all over, I was shaking a little, but I felt good. I hadn’t freaked out. I’d kept my head clear and my eyes open.
I had my eyes open on more than a few occasions, myself.  What is true in those occasions is merely a very small part of what I experienced, like Peter Niceas, in medias res.

Classical tragedy always begins in medias res.  The audience has some of the truth 'revealed' or has its collective eyes opened by the drama unfolding on the stage.

Life is prosaic.  It is not neat and tidy, like the poetry of a Sophocles, or Shakespeare and no where near as tight and complete as the agreed upon narrative played out in the media and by the grandstanding investors of social engineering.

There is no right side of history. That phrase was first used by Rabbi Henry Pereira Mendes in his 1903 book Old Eygpt.   The right/wrong side of history is only determined well after the impact of events can be determined.

Cops are heroes.  A scant few of them are not.  The efforts of heroes to stop the madness of urban thug-ery remains smeared by poetic rhetoric emanating from academic/lawyers and politicians with the goal of ending all local law enforcement and instituting a National police force.  God help us.

If you are supporting that, just say so.  Do not diminish the truth of what police officers experience.

The Sun Times has taken the side against the police, but not a right or wrong side of history.

This Is the Most Honest Analysis of the Shooting Covered by Nine Police Body-Cams

Dressed up to the nines.
There is a proverb which has been of old,
And many men have likewise been so bold,
To the discredit of the Taylor’s Trade,Nine Taylors go to make up a man, they said.
But for their credit I’ll unriddle it t’ye:
A draper once fell into povertie, Nine Tayors joyn’d their purses together then,
To set him up, and make him a man again. Captain William Hickes Grammatical Drolleries, 1671
Cousin Bill might have been thinking of all cutting and pasting and rewinding and sewing sentiments about the recent Paul O'Neal shooting in Chicago.

It seems that nine Body/Dash Cams have been offered up to the lawyers and the activists and each and every one of us to come to the final public judgment of the Police officers involved.

I watched the videos.  They remind me of the shootings that I have been in the middle of on 79th Street over the last twenty years. Everything happens in a blink and the adrenaline pumps furiously. Circa 1999: Who fired the shots?  Some GD from near the parking lot entrance on Sangamon, across from Leo High School.  Describe him.  He was a GD emptying a 9mm as fast as he could.   How was he dressed?  Something like this

Yeah, that's him.

The police no longer investigate a shooting - good or bad - because that has been coopeted, to use that swell socially and politically correct Marxist appellation so vocally hugged on NPR and aped on CBS, NBC and ABC, by the activists and the lawyers and the hungry media.  The activists and the lawyers dole out the portions of "facts' to media players according to their willful suspension of disbelief and accountability.

No matter that the prosecution of police officers in the Philadelphia Freddie Grey case have been universally found not guilt of murder.  The attorney for the O'Neal Family punctuates each clause and sub paragraph with shouts of " Murder Most Foul" just to make sure that rage is all the rage.

I read everything.  I talk to my neighbors and many of them are current or retired police officers of very long service.  Some neighbors think the one thing and others the other. The police neighbors are identical in their assessments.  Body/Dash Cams, or not, the police officers will come out of the situation in any manner - well.

This morning I read the best assessment of what has happened, in Second City Cop.  This is valuable.
We've been seeing a bit of criticism in the comment sections, ripping coppers for "Monday morning quarterbacking" and "you weren't there..." and everything in between. This isn't 1970 any more. This isn't the 80's or the 90's. This isn't even the 00's when personal cell phone cameras were just coming into widespread usage. This is 2016, and in-car cameras along with body-worn cameras are fast becoming the norm along with every single person on the street with a digital photo studio at their fingertips.
Policing is under a harsh spotlight and police work, especial hands-on police work, isn't pretty. But a even-handed, unemotional critique of the actions captured on video can be a benefit. It can educate the public, media and our critics. If the only voice being heard is the voice of the assholes shutting down reasoned discourse, then we are going to be backed into a corner that there is no coming out from. Some here feel we're already at that point. Reasonable men and women can disagree as to how far gone it is. And sometimes that involves taking a look inward.
That being said, we have a series of posts to address the videos over the next few days. And the first one is to rebut some of the more outrageous "sanctification" promulgated by the media and the protestors. We want to take you back in time to 03 August, to the Naperville Sun newspaper:
Five vehicles were stolen during the early-morning hours of July 26 in Naperville, while four were taken around 3 a.m. July 28 in Bolingbrook, authorities in both communities confirmed. Additionally, more than 30 vehicles were burglarized that same morning in Naperville.
A suspect in the Bolingbrook thefts, 18-year-old Paul O'Neal, of Chicago, was fatally shot by police around 7:30 p.m. July 28 behind a house in the 7300 block of South Merrill Avenue in Chicago.
Bolingbrook police Lt. Carter Larry on Wednesday said O'Neal was "clearly seen on video" at a service station where six suspects regrouped following the thefts in that village.
This is the "hero" of the media and "community" narrative - a car thief and a credit card thief. Does anyone know what his record looks like? And why is it all of these "heroes" seem to have social media pages with them holding guns?
And the early onset arthritis - we forgot about that.
Then there's the family, weeping, saying "He had goals." Um, what goals? Stealing a Bugatti maybe? Ferrari? How about a Lamborghini? Unfortunately, he'll always be remembered as only achieving a Jaguar. How sad.
Here's the thing - all of this, every single bit of it, could have been avoided if he didn't take something that didn't belong to him. Blame is on the parent(s), family, whomever - someone didn't install a moral compass on this thief and in the process, set him on the road to destruction, taking who knows how many others with him.
And there were plenty of opportunities to stop him - his first arrest, his second, the judge(s) who gave him how many additional chances, the parent who didn't better monitor his associations, maybe a clergy person, a social worker, the list is endless. But the cops are going to take the final hit because all of these other misses led to:
  • Theft of Auto
  • PSMV
  • Aggravated Assault (with the auto)
  • Aggravated Battery (with the same auto)
If he had survived, how many felonies is that right there? All committed in the span of sixteen hours? Let's not lose sight of that, even though the media and story-tellers already have. He began, continued and ended with bad decisions he made, all on his own.
More tomorrow.
Naperville and Bolingbrook police are investigating a possible link between two incidents of multiple vehicle thefts that occurred within two days of one another, and in which one suspect was later shot to death by Chicago police.

Nine cameras come nowhere near the Truth.  However, the people with the loudmouths, the bullhorns, the talking-points and the final solutions are not interested in anything but outcomes.

Nine tailors  have their work cut out for them

Terror Town Gets a Pass and a Police Officer Does the Time

"The constitution applies to felons, it applies to drug addicts, You don't get a pass every few years because you work in Terror Town*." Judge Kendall

The Constitution obviously takes an entitrely different application althogether to the judicial mindset of United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Virginia Kendall, when it comes to serving Chicago Police Officers in this Post BLM Era.  The Black Lives of Women and Men Serving in CPD Blue can expect getting two and and one half year Federal sentence reduced to two years, by judicial fiat, however.

Chicago Police Officer Aldo Brown received a two year sentnce from Judge Kendall for his October conviction of "excessive force for hitting and kicking a convenience store clerk in September 2012. Brown testified at his trial that he began throwing punches at Jecque Howard at the Omar Salma shop on East 76th Street only after he realized Howard had a handgun in his back pocket."

Terror Town

Officer Aldo Brown worked in Terror Town, not far from where I work every day.   Terror Town, like O Street, is another hip media-driven set of real estate that colorfully adds luster to 'compelling narratives' for hand-wringers and nod-with-conviction arm-chair activists in Evanston, Hyde Park, Highland Park and the hispter havens of elites in Wicker Park, Lakeview, or the political ruling class bed-room community Lincoln Square.

Those of us who live and work in ,and near,  the Terror Towns, The Englewoods, the Greshams, the Grand Crossings and actually interact with residents and CPD professionals daily, know that this conviction of Officer Aldo Brown is more political theatre than jurisprudence and wide walk around Justice.

God Help Us. God Save Us from the constant shower of bullshit! Ora Pro Nobis.

*Terror Town is a nickname for a violent area in Chicago, Illinois. Individuals in the area claim that Terror Town refers to 75th and 79th streets between Yates and Colfax. This particular area in Chicago is on the East Side and is filled with various gangs such as the Black P. Stones and Gangster Disciples. Apart from its violent history, this particular area gained notoriety due to the rising fame of 2 of its residents, Lil Herb and Lil Bibby. Both Herb and Bibby are members of the Black P. Stone gang and often make reference to both Terror Town and their gang in songs.

Inquiry - Conclude and Gather The Facts in Favor of An American Gestapo

The Laquan McDonald Shooting is a convenient step to a much larger goal - the establishment of Federal Police everywhere in America.

Black Lives Matter only until this goal is achieved.

  • Henry Louis Gates
  • Ferguson, MO
  • Baltimore,
  • Cincinnati
  • Chicago

All steps up the National Police ladder of inquiry.

Marches and Scream Fests on Race will continue until this goal is achieved - an American Gestapo.

Cops, no matter how many cameras affixed with Dolby sound included, will still be cops, until the goal of a National Supreme Policing Force is achieved.

While Rahm Emanuel attempted to sweep the McDonald shooting under any rug and damn the costs, because he was facing re-election, Jamie Kalevn found a friendly judge who offered up Criminal Complaints ( CRs) against any and all members of the Chicago Police Department.

CRs are 'beefs' - Police are required to interface with criminals and people who do not follow the rules most people take as a matter of course in daily life.  Such individuals as the former return the obligatory Q & A by filing a 'police complaint.'

Jamie Kalven, a millionaire real estate mogul, investor and Marxist from Chicago's Hyde Park is celebrated Progressive icon with decades of community activism to his record.  He now heads the Invisible Institute.

Young independent journalist Brandon Smith dovetailed to Kalven successful jude shopping, as would Chicago's utility self-promoting news harridan Carol Marin, and notes " But I'm not taking no for an answer—particularly in light of Kalven v. Chicago, an Illinois Appellate Court decision last March that established information about police misconduct is public, except in limited circumstances that don't apply in the case of the McDonald shooting video.

That case was brought by Chicago civil rights journalist Jamie Kalven. After he prevailed, he and his lawyers helped the city craft a more thorough transparency policy in accordance with the court's decision. Apparently the Chicago Police Department believes the Kalven ruling doesn't apply in the case of the shooting of Laquan McDonald.  I'd like to hear what the courts think."

Brandon, you would not like to hear what I think, because I believe that Truth is shared, not co-opted.

I believe that the shooter of Laquan McDonald is an idiotic monster, from what I witnessed on the video who betrayed all of his law enforcement sister and brothers. I do not believe, nor think as you say, that he is in any way a symptom of any problem with policing - local, state or federal.

He belongs to some political creature in Chicago, or Cook County, or the State of Illinois.  Someone in the food chain is what Chicagoan's call 'his Chinaman.'  He's got sponsor somewhere.

He is a wrong guy.

He should not be, be you will help make him be a rung on the ladder to an Amnerican Gestapo.

You have a great deal of fellows in satisfying, as John Dewey used the term, path to Inquiry. God help us.

A national police force is a huge topic on all of cable news outlets and in the WIFI friendly coffeeshops of America.  An American Gestapo.

Americans want that.  Americans need that.  You see, inquiry has determined things so long ago . . .long before Burge, long before Laquan McDonald and Americans by and large accept every dust ball of incident, word, thought and nod that rolls out in news print, pours from the maw of Carol Marin, or gets ruled accommodating judges.

Listen.  Brandon Smith

Brandon Smith went to a notoriously ant-cop law firm - Loevy and Loevy which has its roots in the Marxist American labor movement of the last century.  Jon Loevy is the son of Arthur Loevy who attempted to move 'police labor' to the far left during the later part of the 20th Century.  His son honed his sights on 'systemic police racism and brutality' and made millions from gutless local and State settlements, as well as active participation in the now discredited, but still much loved Wrongful Conviction Industry.

Police misconduct is no longer policed by the police, but by task forces, panels and left-friendly columnists.

Chicago is a thug comfort zone.  Police are universally targeted and vilified.

Inquiry - drawing a conclusion and making anything fit that conclusion is American thought.

The Guardian - CPD Operating Culinary Arts School at Homan Square

Something smells at Chicago's Homan Square CPG Blacksite . . .smells heavenly!

More than 100 activists and community leaders rallied in Chicago on Saturday to call for official investigations into and even a shutdown of Homan Square, the police facility at the centre of allegations over unconstitutional abuse and a growing protest movement known as #Gitmo2Chicago.

Chicago - Where are the Disappeared?  No one knows. Some in Chicago's media and legal communities attempted to cast doubt on the Guardian yarn crafted by that old myth maker G. Flint Taylor and the three home brewing NATO Sandinistas.

CPD, the Guardian has learned from someone, or something,  is operating  a black site at Homan Square - no knows about it, or the goings on behind its walls.

It is very clear, to those who would believe the Guardian,  that something smells at Homan Square . . .Something smells delicious!

Yes, CPD is taking a very tasty page from its 1st Responder Brethern and Sistern of the Chicago Fire Department. Cops, who are more generally given to shooting unarmed black toddlers and up,  are also preparing meals of the highest quality and character.

The Guardian cornered a former TAC Unit officer now the head of Chicago BLUE Condon Bleu, PO Reece "Shrek" Prendergast and posed these questions

Guard: What is your philosophy on food and dining?
RP: Keep it simple and remember the classics and classic techniques, and have restraint; victims like a nice snack after a sound tune-up and wood shampoo, so we try and make it something special.  I think it's important for chefs and police officers  to have restraint, to be able to take three ingredients and make them great and let the guests have what they want, within the guidelines for use of force and within the budget and manpower restraints, especially in this day and age. Offer great food and great service at a reasonable price of few slaps with an old Chicago phonebook and in a locked room with great ambiance.

Guard: What advice would you give to young chefs and POs just getting started?
RP: Make sure they want to do this; get a job at a restaurant first and get some practice treating the dishwashers and busboys to few good cracks in the coconut.

Guard: How are you involved in your local culinary community  policing ?
RP: I do a lot of charity and non-profit events and I used to do the CAPS Programs. I sit on the FOP’s advisory board of Common Threads, which teaches young, inner-city, underprivileged police recruits about food and education; we teach them how to cook. That’s one thing that I’m heavily involved in. I’m also involved in kind of a project that’s just starting to get legs now, the Pilot Light project - we introduce some of handcuffed guests to a "whole range' of gas flamed utilities. "
Guard:: How did the Pilot Light Project come about?
RP: I started it with four other chefs, based on the First Lady’s Let’s Move campaign and notes left in Area 2 by Commander Burge in the 1980's. We go into a school and we cook for them in the cafeteria one day. What we’re trying to do is help change the curriculum so they’ll learn more about food and how to eat properly; we’re working with teachers and principals to help sculpt and change the curriculum, to get food into the lesson plan of the day. We want to integrate culinary arts in the classroom. Then we slap the shit out of the little @#$%ers.  Food and Fun.

Guard: What did you prepare over the last few days?
RP: Pretty standard cop fare -  lats Premiers of Grilled calamari, confit fennel and tomato, escabeche
Langoustine ravioli and seared scallop, coconut curry sauce Three preparations of smoked                           salmon, crispy rice, caramelized shallot purée Oysters on the half-shell, daily selection served with                  lemon and mignonette Pâtés maison ~ assorted house-prepared pâtés served with cornichons                        and toasted brioche.Roasted duck breast and confit duck leg, Savoy cabbage, green peppercorn                  sauce, Braised Wagyu beef short rib, root vegetables, trumpet royale mushrooms, Bordelaise                       sauce.Veal sweetbread, game jus; and grilled prime beef rib-eye, red wine garlic sauce
accompanied by couscous and lentils, blue corn grits, roasted carrot and confit shallot . . .some                      cold Miller Lites . . . .the usual shit.

Guard: That aside, the Chicago police have denied multiple requests for comment since the Guardian                        began reporting on Homan Square. How do you as a cop and chef respond to that . . .

RP:       Let's wait until Lent is over . . .then,  Eat Me!

Rahm's War on Neighborhoods is One of Attrition - Make Everyone Tired of Living Here

I live in a great neighborhood. great people who keep an eye on your home and most especially your kids.   The problem is that my neighborhood is in a city run by a guy who absolutely detests everything about living in a neighborhood.  His people do not live in bungalows, raised ranches, Georgians, or Flats - Rahm Emanuel's people have addresses, residences, places to end a busy day accumulation.

Rahm's people accumulate power in business, entertainment, political grifts, academics and most of all policy.

Rahm's people do not shovel snow, cut grass, pick up empty beer cans tossed on the lawn by America's youth, nor do they agonize over ballooning taxes, revenue grifts and where to send the kids to school.  Neighbors do that.

Rahm Emanuel wants neighbors gone from Chicago and voters limited to dependable communities.

Rahm Emanuel is a smart-size city guy.  Reduce the city to lovely areas where affluent constituents and investors can walk and bike along streets free of traffic.  Reduce the number of benefits available to Chicagoans and raise the costs out of this world. We have one of the largest inland seas on the planet and it is potable water - you can drink it.

God's Lake on Chicago's shoreline.  Our water bill jumped a whopping 86%, because . . .. ?  Rahm can.

Chicago has the best police force on earth.  Yet, they are undermanned and out gunned. Thugs know - go and rob, beat, even murder, where there are no cops on patrol - in a safe neighborhood.  Big time crooks and grifters hitch their star to politics and government cash.   CPS alumni and drop-outs have the will to steal big, but lack the intellectual heft of a Northwestern education and must eke out a livlihood in a safe neighborhood in a an undermanned neighborhood.

On Friday afternoon at about 3PM, a gas station that serves as a neighborhood temple of good fellowship, Kean Gas at 111th & Talman *was robbed. Kean is place to grab a paper, coffee, candy for the kids and the real news, as well as top-off the gas tank.  Black, Mexican and Caucasians congregate like neighbors, do.

A black kid might rob a store, or grab a kid's cell phone, but it also common knowlege that 3rd generation Irish American might be doing Rahm's bidding and some Mexican St. Rita guy at the Merc could put them all to shame.

There seems to be a news embargo on what happened at Kean Gas on Friday.

No one is talking but the neighbors.

  • No news casts
  • No news features in print or on the web
  • No nothing

Yet, Kean Gas was robbed. Here is what the neighbors know - on Friday, "around 3PM there was an armed robbery at the Kean gas station located on 111th and Talman. The offender is described as a black male in his 20s that possibly fled in a black mini-van."

Rahm is up for re-election.  Chuy Garcia has all of pension gobblers and Willie Wilson has $$$$$$$$$, Ald. Bob Fioretti has a mane of hair the hue of which resides outside of nature.  Chuy is all populist. Willie Wilson is all new.  Bob Fioretti is all about Bob.

Rahm is 'all about our suffering middle class,' . . . no really.

The skilled trades who howl at the sound of Bruce Rauner gave him the endoresement, the firemen gave him their nod, the business suits

There is no news about the robbery at Kean Gas in our neighborhood, because there must be another in the legion of embargos on news.  No one is talking, but the neighbors.

* You may remember Kean Gas as the staging area for the L'il JO-Jo mourners.

NYPD Again 'Backs' Mayor Warren/DeBlasio/Bill DeBlasio/Billy Jack.

New York decided that Warren Wilhelm, Jr. ( AKA Warren DeBlasio-Wilhelm ( 1983) and finally in 2002 Bill De Blasio) would make a fine mayor of the Big Apple. Hell, Chicago voted in a nine-fingered  Highland Park  Danseur  Why?  Billy Jack

The Democrat Party warmed to the notion of a post-political, non Wall Street infected hipster with a compelling narrative makes a great elected official.  I believe that I can trace this notion back to that fine American film that dominated the American conscience during the Carter Administration - Billy Jack Goes to Washington - a re-make of Capra's Mr. Smith Goes to Washington by Capra's boy Frank Junior. Billy Jack is, in the Democrat tradition that made Roland "Tombstone Burris" a national laughing stock of a United States Senator, appointed to fill-out a term. Instead of Mr. Smith's planned Boy Ranger Park, Senator Billy Jack goes for a clean-energy " NO MORE NUKES" National Initiative!  Hey, it works for Billy Jack, imagine what it could do for National Health and Same Sex Marriage.

With tweaking in the last century and twerking in the current millennium the DNC has produced Senators, Congressmen, governors, mayors, Water Reclamation District trustees and a President with all of the abilities and heart of Billy Jack. We are living the Billy Jack dream!  Warren Wilhem-Warren DeBasio Willhelm-Bill DeBlasio is Mayor Billy Jack and he hates cops.

People who normally are known to their communities as goofs,odd-balls, anti-cross and creche litigants have been elected by voters more concerned with Fantasy Football rosters, Oprah Matters and political pantomime, than taking responsibility for their continued presence in the American middle class.

The national news media, no longer played by veteran character actor Thomas Mitchell, but by Chris Hayes, hates not only cops, but also, firemen, skilled tradesmen; Catholic schools; all living Jews inIsrael;Black Supreme Court Justices, neurosurgeons, Army colonels; all Navy Seals and taxpayers.   Some believe that the murder of the two NYPD officers made cops happy and that police officers should turn their backs on politicians who call them stupid, racist, brutal choke-hold and trigger happy thugs.

Call me silly. but I admire and respect police officers - committed public servants who deal with monsters frequently and creepy asses hourly.

In defiance of Commisioner Bill Brattan's suggestion that NYPD Blue-coats refrain from signally their contempt for a contemptuous ass occupying Gracie Manor, thousands of officers turned their backs on the Big Screen when Mayor Warren Wilhelm-DeBlasio, Bill photo bombed the services for Officer Liu and mouthed pious hypocrisies, like this idiocy worthy of Salon's Joan Walsh, “New York has been, from its earliest days, the most tolerant of cities, that harmony has been challenged.”

Really?  Ever since the Dutch took Manhattan with a handful of Mojos, New York has been intolerant of somebody - People who backed George Washington, potato gobbling, garlic scented, kielbasa wielding Catholics,  Slavic accented  shtetl- dwellers who believe in Justice universal, and Archie Bunker.

I have a blue ribbon on my tree.  In fact my neighborhood has blue ribbons tied to trees all over my Ward.  It is meant to show support for cops.  I never use the word solidarity, because my union card expired in 1977.   I respect cops.  They keep the kids who attend Leo High School safe.  Leo High School is 95% African American and not one has been shot, let alone killed by a Chicago Police Officer.  I have helped bury ten young black men who were Leo students and have watch one young man struggle to over come the five bullets to his abdomen sent their by the gang-banging monster who wanted to kill his cousin and decided he's do as well.

Mayor De Blasio is a media creature - Mayor Billy Jack.  Billions of barrels of ink and TV balloon juice will back and parse away every contemptuous word that comes from this Mayor's maw.

Who back the back-turning people in Blue?

Me.

I got a blue ribbon, put on my tree by one of my neighbors.   It  is not much but it speaks to my choices.

I know bullshit when I see it, but I refuse to dine upon it.

Chicago's Thug Comfort Zone Kills Kids and Christmas

Chicago is a thug comfort zone.  It became so, because of anti-police mythologies, a complete undermining of any and all confidence in the American Justice system and the racial grievance industry.

A thug can kill with impunity and murder witnesses..  This weekend,  a 15 year old boy was murdered because a 17 year old thug wanted his jacket. No police officer has been charged with killing a kid for his Ipod, Timberlines, Jordans, jewelry, or inability to answer the fundamental GD, Stones, or Mickey Cobra catechism questions.  Nevertheless, police officers are public enemy number one, because of flannel-mouthed morons like Michale Eric Dyson, Al Sharpton, Joan Walsh, Chris Hayes and Chicago's editorial boards,

Thugs kill and rob with impunity.

Did you know that in Gresham, Englewood, Grand Crossing, Chatham and Bronzville neighborhoods Black families refrain from putting up Christmas decorations in order to signal the thugs that there is nothing under tree.

Only this morning, one of the young guys whom I drive to Leo High School every morning had his home broken into on Saturday and his family's Christmas presents redistributed to the thugs.

The family took down the Christmas tree, the lights and any other notification of shared values.  If your home or apartment in the 'Hood displays Christmas, the thugs find cause to rob you.

This war on Christmas goes way beyond the Bill O'Reilly-variety; this war on Christmas is personal.

The news media gooses the numbers of idealistic dopes who Metra into the Loop from our suburban Napervilles, Wilmettes and Winnetkas who need to march in solidarity against "police violence," purchase an "I Can't Breathe" T-shirt, beat a few drums and disrupt traffic when called into Action by race fakirs like Sharpton and pasty-faced clowns like MBC's Brian Williams.

We live in a thug comfort zone, because we are OK with it.  We feel good about it. It is cathartic to blame the cops, march in solidarity and assuage white guilt, or black frustration.  It sure beats actually doing something about it - like facing our own demons, defending the sanctity of life, working for institutions and people who are not a huge part of problem and actually being accountable, for something.

The Christ Child is naked, cold and about to take a 9mm if Joe and Mary don't give up the  gold, frankincense and myrrh.

ACLU's Matthew Harwood of Salon, The Guardian, Huffington Post,& etc. Sets his Polemic IED on Police - EVERYWHERE!

Meet Matt Harwood -  ACLU Media Strategist seen hereMatthew Harwood (@mharwood31is a media strategist at the ACLU’s Washington Legislative Office. Previously, Matt was an associate editor at Security Management magazine where he covered homeland security. His work has been published by The American Conservative, Columbia Journalism Review, the Guardian, Reason, Salon, Truthout, and The Washington Monthly. Follow him on Twitter@mharwood31

AND a writer who gets linked in every Gold Standard Progressive outlet.
Matthew Harwood is a journalist based in Alexandria, Va. His work has appeared in the Columbia Journalism Review, the Guardian, Reason, Truthout, and the Washington Monthly. Follow him on Twitter @mharwood31
Matt is a bright young chap.

He is bright. He has access to scads of data by dint of his cool networking chops.  Matt is an activist of the Left.  He is concerned. That said. Matt is only one of our protected species of Progressive Voices who profit from stoking fear, mistrust and rage .  That is one very easy task to do. All you need is anything.

Matthew Harwood gets linked because not only is he a writer, whose work appears in The Guardian (as does Glenn Greenwald who begat Edward Snowden), Huffington Post ( whose staffer howled when the cops ordered  him to leave Micky D's in Ferguson) and Salon ( Joan Walsh's PC-PMS Mill), but an ACLU Media Strategist.

Mathew Harwood is a Media Strategist for the ACLU - old Roger Baldwin's Commie Laundry.  Guess what a Media Startegist does!  Well, a media strategist tells a story and it becomes the only story. The Media dude takes a bunch of data and arranges the mess until the metaphorical gun points one way and with everyone watching blows the other guys to Kingdom Come. Boom! as the cool kids say.

Over the last two decades, politicians, academics, ambulance chasers, journalists and media strategists have worked their little fannies off to undermine law enforcement and Justice itself as a fixed deck of hards contolled by plutocrats and Popes armed with Blue Meanies - cops.

Cops are lazy, corrupt, racist, brutal, homophobic, smonosyllabic, misongynistic, mobbed-up, spouse beating, cocaine-snorting, donut eating suicidal cartoon characters, only interested in torture, guns, racially profiling the Huckstables and over-served Harvard professors who can't find their keys.  Oh, and shooting unarmed black kids. The Official Progressive Cop Meme

Can't argue with that, now, can we?

Nope.  Matthew Harwood is not satisfied with the above offered group-think approved cop meme. Not by a jug full!  ACLU media strategist and pan-lib mag rag writer, Harwood says Police are an "Occupying Force."  Not unlike our military.  Remember Bush 2?  Yeah, baby!!!

We are way past Ferguson, PEOPLE!  All of America is Occupied and only HBO, Arianna Huffington, George Soros, The Peoples Law Office,  the ACLU, Bill Ayers, MSNBC, Brian Wilson, Tavis Smiley and Matt Harwood can do anything about it.  Lean Left with Rage!

The cancer of militarized policing has long been metastasizing in the body politic.  It has been growing ever stronger since the first Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams were born in the 1960s in response to that decade’s turbulent mix of riots, disturbances, and senseless violence like Charles Whitman’s infamous clock-tower rampage in Austin, Texas.
While SWAT isn’t the only indicator that the militarization of American policing is increasing, it is the most recognizable. The proliferation of SWAT teams across the country and their paramilitary tactics have spread a violent form of policing designed for the extraordinary but in these years made ordinary. When the concept of SWAT arose out of the Philadelphia and Los Angeles Police Departments, it was quickly picked up by big city police officials nationwide.  Initially, however, it was an elite force reserved for uniquely dangerous incidents, such as active shooters, hostage situations, or large-scale disturbances.
Nearly a half-century later, that’s no longer true.
In 1984, according to Radley Balko’s Rise of the Warrior Cop, about 26% of towns with populations between 25,000 and 50,000 had SWAT teams. By 2005, that number had soared to 80% and it’s still rising, though SWAT statistics are notoriously hard to come by.
As the number of SWAT teams has grown nationwide, so have the raids. Every year now, there are approximately 50,000 SWAT raids in the United States, according to Professor Pete Kraska of Eastern Kentucky University’s School of Justice Studies. In other words, roughly 137 times a day a SWAT team assaults a home and plunges its inhabitants and the surrounding community into terror.
I wet my chinos!  Dang, how will I ever be comfortable again?  How will my children feel?  How will I get to work knowing that I work in a major Chicago killing zone, that I will not be mistaken by a CPD Tac Unit for a young black lad running into the school with my 24 oz. Dunkin Donuts cup that just could seem like a 20 oz. Arizona Iced Tea can?

Cops NEVER have to worry about anything?  They get away with murder, says ACLU media strategist Matt. Report by report, evidence is mounting that America’s militarized police are a threat to public safety. But in a country where the cops increasingly look upon themselves as soldiers doing battle day in, day out, there’s no need for public accountability or even an apology when things go grievously wrong.
If community policing rests on mutual trust between the police and the people, militarized policing operates on the assumption of “officer safety” at all costs and contempt for anyone who sees things differently. The result is an “us versus them” mentality.
Just ask the parents of Bou Bou Phonesavanh. Around 3:00 a.m. on May 28th, the Habersham County Special Response Team conducted a no-knock raid at a relative’s home near Cornelia, Georgia, where the family was staying. The officers were looking for the homeowner’s son, whom they suspected of selling $50 worth of drugs to a confidential informant.  As it happened, he no longer lived there.
Despite evidence that children were present — a minivan in the driveway, children’s toys littering the yard, and a Pack ‘n Play next to the door — a SWAT officer tossed a “flashbang” grenade into the home. It landed in 19-month-old Bou Bou’s crib and exploded, critically wounding the toddler. When his distraught mother tried to reach him, officers screamed at her to sit down and shut up, telling her that her child was fine and had just lost a tooth. In fact, his nose was hanging off his face, his body had been severely burned, and he had a hole in his chest. Rushed to the hospital, Bou Bou had to be put into a medically induced coma.
The police claimed that it was all a mistake and that there had been no evidence children were present. “There was no malicious act performed,” Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “It was a terrible accident that was never supposed to happen.” The Phonesavanhs have yet to receive an apology from the sheriff’s office. “Nothing. Nothing for our son. No card. No balloon. Not a phone call. Not anything,” Bou Bou’s mother, Alecia Phonesavanh, told CNN.
Similarly, Tampa Bay Police Chief Jane Castor continues to insist that Jay Westcott’s death in the militarized raid on his house was his own fault.  ”Mr. Westcott lost his life because he aimed a loaded firearm at police officers. You can take the entire marijuana issue out of the picture,” Castor said. “If there’s an indication that there is armed trafficking going on — someone selling narcotics while they are armed or have the ability to use a firearm — then the tactical response team will do the initial entry.”
Now here is the payoff -

In her defense of the SWAT raid, Castor simply dismissed any responsibility for Westcott’s death. “They did everything they could to serve this warrant in a safe manner,” she wrote the Tampa Bay Times – “everything,” that is, but find an alternative to storming the home of a man they knew feared for his life.
Almost half of all American households report having a gun, as the ACLUnotes in its report. That means the police always have a ready-made excuse for using SWAT teams to execute warrants when less confrontational and less violent alternatives exist.
In other words, if police believe you’re selling drugs, beware. Suspicion is all they need to turn your world upside down. And if they’re wrong, don’t worry; the intent couldn’t have been better. . . . War, once started, can rarely be contained.

Dude's a media strategist, G! Matt Harwood, ACLU media strategist an linked up lad, has planted a huge IED, or is it an IED? Both will do serious damage to police officers on the job and anyone near them.

This clever "horseshit," to quote President Obama, works.  It works for anyone but a working America of any race, creed, or color.

I'm Hearing 'Gun Violence' is Bad . . .Everything Else is Just Dandy!

I heard the Chicago Police boss say that 17 deaths and 82 bullet mutilations is just unacceptable. He immediately shifted blame from shooters holding hand guns to his people with a John Deweyesque lab lesson, “We're square-rooting* nine ways from Sunday what is it that happened. Was it a fatigue factor? Did we give (too many) people (time) off? Because the fireworks were Friday and Saturday. That's where we had a lot of folks deployed during those time frames.” He admitted the numbers of bodies taking rounds was unacceptable,

I wonder, what exactly would be an acceptable rate of ballistic intrusions on carbon foot-prints over a few hours in Chicago?  A real headstratcher that one.

Mayor Chicagoland was equally huffed and puffed about the numbers, the optics and the growth of ballistic corporeal intrusions over Independence Day Weekend. These guys are almost mildy concerned enough to actually give voice to what everyone else in Chicago knows?

Not a chance.
In April when the temperatures spiked after the long Arctic Chicago winter, so do did bullet gusts and Rahm said,
"Every child deserves a childhood, regardless of where they live. But to do that, our city and community, the neighborhoods that make up this city, cannot live by a code of silence," Emanuel said at a news conference at an Edgewater school to announce more international baccalaureate programs. "They have to live by a moral code."
"Now I've read some of this, and I just want to say this, when some people go 'Well, it's the weather.' It's whether you have values," the mayor said. "Yes, weather's an impact. Where you put police is an impact. Whether you have summer jobs, after school programs, camps, summer reading programs. We have to do that and more."

And By Jingo, he did!  In fact he said so in the wake of 4th July fussilades, "While [Chicago is] providing record summer educational job opportunities and summer jobs, where is the federal [government] with assistance to expand that?"

Rahm knows that After School Programs do more to stop bullets* travelling between 770 -840 feet per second than decking out an entire neighborhood in T-shirts and marching behind Reverends at Gun Shops, or posting STOP GUN VIOLENCE signage hither and yon in ballistic afflicted neighborhoods.

Certainly, After School Programs do much, much more than having a well-led, well-manned and well-backed Police Department unencumbered by showers of pissy lawsuits and pissier media smears of cops doing their jobs bolstered by the pissiest of academic frauds with pie charts and mythopoeic yarns of systemic racism, brutality and working class contempt in bringing bad guys, cut-purses and sundry ne'er-do-wells to book for actual crimes.

After School Programs, especially when school is out for the summer, will end the bloodbath and bring Robert Redford's documentary crews back for another clear-eyed look at this Shooting Gallery on the Lake.

Boy, and all this time, silly me, I believed it was due to the fact that vicious, self-absorbed, bone-stupid and well armed thugs feel that they can get away with murder in Chicago, because Rahm, Daley, the Alderpersons, Toni Preckwinkle, Northwestern's Wrongful Industry, G. Flint Taylor, Locke Bowman,  Loevy & Loevy, both newspapers' editorial boards and icon columnists, WTTW, Pat Quinn, University of Chicago, CPS and too many grant-making philanthropies have made Chicago A Thug Comfort Zone.Police booking photo of Richard L. Magnan, 35, of Evergreen Park, IL. Thugs of all ethnic origins are surely welcome like this Evergreen Park native, sporting the fine old Irish/Viking name of Magnan.  Perhaps, when he came home from the Tattoo parlor sporting the Message at the center of what passes for his forehead might have indicated the road less travelled but certainly most bloody.

Science, my boy, science!

* Square Rooting -"Last year saw dramatic improvements after a particularly violent 2012 when Chicago topped 500 homicides for only the third time in a decade. But the momentum has appeared to slow so far this year. Through Sunday, homicides have dropped 5.6 percent, to 185, 11 fewer than the year earlier, police statistics show. But shooting incidents have risen to 953, up 5.3 percent from 905."

Velocity = 230 meters per second
Energy = 282 Joules

God Bless Chicago Cops! Two Leo Students Have You Tickets to the Baltimore Game on Tuesday Night, Thanks Detective!

Two Leo men will attend July 2nd's White Sox v. Orioles Game thanks to the anonymous gift of two tickets from a Chicago Police Department Detective. Our guys, or guy and his date, wi;; be seated in Section 102 - over by the Home Run Alley and Mall in the Park and under the Jumbo Tron.

This morning I opened my mailbox to fin an envelope addressed to Leo High School c/o Pat Hickey from CPD Headquarters at 3510 South Michigan Avenue.  Leo HS is proud to boast the great number of current and former CPD heroes among its Alumni.  CPD had many Leo Men in its Detective Division including the late Capt. Mo Higgins, Det. Eric Lee, Det. Eddie Jones, Lt. Joe Murphy, Dept Superintendent Donnie Hilbring and retired Deputy Superintendent James 'Molly" Molloy.

I do not know if the donor of the tickets happens to be a Leo Graduate, but he, or she has the heart of a Lion!

Chicago cops do more to help inner city kids of Leo High School achieve and succeed than any Center for Wrongful Punishment of All Cops at U of C, or Northwestern and every amblulance chasing Cadillac Commie Lawyer with his mitts itching for a pay-out.  Under-paid and under-manned cops and firemen have the backs of kids and walk-the- talk 24 -7.

The Race Baiters, the T-Shirt festooned march-a-thon activists, the agenda hacks and media hand-wringers have yet to step-up.  A cop, or a fireman can always count on being  portrayed as   brute, or at best second guessed by the media.  Our kids know much better!

I am giving your tickets to a Junior Math Scholar and varsity football player. He is consummate gent!  He will dispense the other ticket.

Thank you Detective and Thank you CPD!

She recorded his generosity on her cellphone. It was posted Tuesday night to the NYPD’s official Facebook page and became an instant hit. More than 325,000 users “liked” it as of Thursday morning, and over 79,000 shared it.
Thousands of people commented, including one person who praised him as “An officer AND a Gentleman.”e came across the shoeless man asking for change in Times Square.
