Thundering Dick Simpson Demands More . . . of The Same Only More!

Dick Simpson illustration

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is on the phone.
“Hi, Lisa. How are you?” asks Dick Simpson, head of the UIC Department of Political Science, as he sits in his book-lined office in the Behavioral Sciences Building. UICC - Street Cred of Thundering Dick Simpson

The Progressive way  to rid a home of raccoons, horse flies, tics, bed bugs, Norway rats and the odd timber wolf would be to tap a few reporters armed with studies from UICC, demand time on WTTW, make tour of the Dane Placko, Mike Flannery gas-and-nod shows, demand a tax-payer funded home inspector and a blue ribbon panel consisting of Dr. Quentin Young, Deb Mell, Deb Shore, Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon ( 5-String Banjo), Boss Terry Cosgrove, Forrest " Ho Gauge Rail" Claypool, NU(a)TO Andy Thayer, Ralph Martire, Dawn Clark Netsch, Slim Coleman and of course the ubiquitous Chris Kennedy to confab and vigorously  note that the home owner should

  • close doors
  • fix screens
  • toss food waste in plastic bags and place them in the black plastic gondolas provided by Waste Management or the Ward Office
  • Be Sure to Re-cycle cardboard, plastics and metal and place them in the Blue Re-cycle bins
  • Prepare to move once home ownership is lost, due to failure to meet the basic mortgage obligations
  • Apply for Affordable Housing
Yep, Thundering Dick Simpson is setting the table for Progressive Knit-Hat, Gender Ambiguous, Childless and generally disagreeable candidates to flourish in our suburbs. How about small towns too?  Think Custer Park, Diamond, Eileen, Reddick and Papineau Illinois Machine Politics and Mossback Graft -" Clel, I'll vote for you, if'n I get two jars a stink bait." Done and done.

With the full push of Chicago's media, Thundering Dick is getting full cooperation to the very same thing to suburban government as the City of Chicago and the mythical homeowner above with his latest UICC paper written by a bunch of kids at Cement City University and under the supervision of Thundering Dick, his own bad self.

Thundering Dick earned his Progressive spurs from Abner Mikva and went on to a long and inconsequential career as an office-holder - Alderman - before becoming a 40 Watt academic at Stanley ( Terrorist Bill Ayers' career laundering Rabbi)Ikennberry's Circle. Thundering Dick's Green Grass and Greed: Corruption in the Suburbs is a wow-read for folks who do not read very much.  Thundering Dick leads with his jowls on this one -

The obvious and potentially most effective method for dealing with corrupt officeholders
would be to elect new public officials dedicated to ethical behavior and governmental reform. Such candidates, if elected, can help change the culture of corruption in these suburbs. Voters should support candidates committed to fighting corruption.
Thundering Dick-King Maker

Well, I'll be dipped and rolled!!!!!!!  Ain't that a wonderment!!!!!!! Vote for new folks!  Well, that must mean a whole new line of folks trotted out by old Thundering Dick, his own bad self!

The Study is a Cliff's Notes of old news stories and attendant graphs about incidents of corruption in the suburbs - some going back to the 1970's when Thundering Dick brought the Democratic Machine under Old Man Daley to its knees . . . with laughter. That was then and this is now.

Back then, when everyone and everything still worked,  folks like Thundering Dick were laughed out of the room; these days, we elect the likes of Blago, Burris, Joe Moore, Sheila Simon, Pat Quinn, Mike Quigley, Jan Schakowsky, Toni Preckwikle and other ninnies and grifters.

I am sure that Thundering Dick has a rapt audience for his summary.  Folks just don't take the time to read, connect dots to dimwits, and are much too kind and polite to tell Progressives to go pound sand.  Some folks, anyway.

Chicago Media Follow Orders - No Coverage of Religious Liberty Rally Yesterday

Obama 2012 Campaign is deathly afraid of these people.

There were no less than a thousand people in Federal Plaza Protesting the Obama HHS Mandate.
One estimate had the crowd at 2,000, but I believe that it was a bit shy of that.

There was absolutely no Chicago Media coverage - yesterday or today; by that I mean the two big news dailies - The Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun Times. The Obama 2012 Campaign hopes to spend a billion dollars to get President Obama re-elected - the Chicago media is invested.

Both papers dutifully reported on a small march to protest the death of a Florida kid, whose tragic and horrific killing is no less soul-sucking as the daily gang-banger slaughters of babies and cops, but is now the national template for scab-pulling. The Obama regime has declared war on religious liberty and the media have eaten up its narrative. Obama is embarrassed and frightened by his very actions and intent and it seems to me, wants the issue clouded and quick. President Obama is the Federal government.

The Catholic Bishops and many, many other relligious leaders understand the threat that is the HHS Mandate and called for people of faith to rally against it. Rally they did, without any support or coverage from the Chicago Media.

The Federal court building cut the power to the stage and most of the speeches were given over bullhorns. Then the US Post Office offered electrical power. Fair enough.

The real story about the Rally for Religious Liberty is the Chicago Media going Syria on the truth.

The Media fills the buffet of bullshit that the public is invited to dine upon. It is heaping board. The Chicago Media has been flat out in support of Barack Obama from 2008 through his first term. What has Chicago, much less Illinois, benefited from an Obama Presidency? FEMA won't fund storm damaged Illinois towns. Chicago has the highest gas prices in America. Real Labor, not SEIU or their coalitions of low and unskilled workers unions, is hobbled. Property taxes are in the stratosphere. Black and Hispanic kids are gunned down in Chicago streets hourly and Police are sued by Obama lawyers. But, Obama is President.

I believe that Dave Axelrod and his cadre of spin-merchants and bundlers gave the Trib and the Sun Times orders to lay down. And lay down they did.

The Truth is the first casualty in war. The Mandate, The Obama Regime, and the compliant media stand proof of that fact.

Americans can handle the truth; it would be soul-stirring if the news media would provide even the most basic of facts: like, a rally was held in Federal Plaza on March 23rd at noon to protest the HHS Mandate and rally for religious liberty.

Not too tough, that.

Why Bother With The Trib - The Real Reporting Can Be Found at Chicago News Co-Op

I read quite a bit. Even at this hoary-age of the dark-side of 58, I tend to remember what I read. Reading like plumbing, carpentry, and painting is an art. I do not plumb, carpent or paint, unless there is a very good reason to do so, like black water gushing up out of every household orifice, timbers a'cracking and chips of paint getting mixed in with the Lime and Salt flavored tortilla chips.

I read because I must. I have taught generations of high school kids not only to engage in reading, but introduced them to the very best in writing, in order to become discerning readers.

While a student at Loyola, I worked with a Stationary Engineer who was a 'big reader' - Mack Bolan, Nick Carter, Mickey Spillane, various and sundry crotch novels with titles like "Trailer Park Pam and the Big-Top Snake Wranglers at Play." While appreciative of the cover art that packages such tomes, I, none the less, found the lurid prose to be just that and came away from their sentences with the feelings of shame that must accompany young Ezra when Mom comes down into the basement with basketful of the twenty-something's laundry and catches Young E with his mitts around more than a pretzel stick, while watching the Kardasian hi-jinks on the wide-screen Hi Def.

Chicago's two remaining big newspapers and their web-sites have become little more than Condensed Lite Nick Carter dailies.

The Chicago Tribune, to be fair, has made some modest gains toward substance in recent months, but any paper with a disc jockey as managing editor and editorial board propagandist is rather sad. The Sun Times, likewise has improved from its laughable days when Cheryl Redd called the shots, and has excellent journalistic foot-soldiers like Mark Konkol, Natasha Korecki, Maureen O'Donnell, Tim Novack and Abdon Pallasch and Southtown's Star's Steve Metsch.

However, you can not find a better source for reporting, opinion and insight than the Medill Castaways of the Chicago News Cooperative ( New York Times).

One of my favorite, Metro and City Hall beat journalists is Dan Mihalopoulos. Today, this gritty and exacting reporter cuts through fatuous opinions of the Aldermen and City Hall flacks and presents the realities of Chicago Police Manpower shortages.

The ACLU and the usual suspects of political loudmouths and phonies are providing cover form Rahm Emanuel's dodgy deployments. Dan Mihalopoulos offers the facts - reminding readers of what newspapers used to do. While the Emanuel 'Smart Sizing" of the Chicago Police Department might provide cover for aldermen and the Administration, saturating high crime areas with Officers will not necessarily solve the problem.

Only Dan Mihalopulos cuts to the chase -

The Chicago News Cooperative recently obtained a list of the unit assignments for the 10,300 sworn Chicago police department employees from a police source who requested anonymity because the department leaders have declined to release it.

The records described the unit assignments as of early October and appeared to reflect the vast majority of the recent personnel moves ordered by the Emanuel administration.

Most of the detectives were assigned to one of the department’s five area headquarters, while about 2,400 of the police officers were either assigned directly or detailed to specialized units, including the narcotics section and the internal affairs division.

It was impossible to deduce from the data exactly where the officers in specialized units were working. The list also did not include supervisors.

The other 7,000 police officers, representing a majority of the department’s sworn members, were each assigned to patrol beats in one of the 25 districts. The number of officers in each district ranged from a low of 191 in the 23rd district to 386 in the 7th district.

A comparison of the beat deployment figures with department statistics for property crimes and violent crimes in each district this year shows:

¶Four districts — the 25th, 8th, 6th and 4th — had higher ratios of both property crimes and violent crimes per officer than the citywide average.

¶The highest ratios of property crimes to beat officer counts were in the 14th, 8th and 25th districts, each of which reported at least 15 property crimes per patrol officer in the year’s first eight months.

¶The lowest proportion of violent crimes to officers was in the 1st district, which covers downtown Chicago, followed by the 19th district on the North Side.

¶The 4th district, in the city’s southeast corner, had the largest gap between staffing level and violence, with 4.05 violent crimes per officer.

The 4th district covers most of the 7th Ward, whose alderman, Sandi Jackson, praised Emanuel for adding officers to areas of greater need, despite tight budget constraints. But asked about the Chicago News Cooperative findings, Jackson replied: “There is absolutely a disparity. We are not where we would want to be ideally.”

Some experts say the reaction of aldermen in apparently underserved districts, though politically astute, would not lead to the wisest policies for fighting crime.

“It is reasonable and rational to expect that there should be more officers in areas with more crime,” said Arthur Lurigio, a professor of psychology and criminology at Loyola University. “But there is no evidence that would necessarily be the case.”

Lurigio said saturating areas with officers often merely pushed criminals to other places that then witnessed a spike in violence.

Imagine if high crime areas were saturated with beat officers, prowler cars and paddy wagons?

Imagine what Harvey Grossman and the ACLU say and how quickly they would shop for Federal Judges to sue over racist invasions and forces of occupation in Englewood, or Roseland?

Fourteen people were wounded and one killed last night, blares the Tribune in anticipation of a full explanation to people by Eric "The Water Boy" Zorn, or a thunderingly hilarious cop-slamming J'accuse from Bruce Dold.

Read The Tribune for laughs, read the Chicago Sun Times for the great reporters and skip the columnists, and read the Chicago News Cooperative in order to be fully informed.

To Well-Heeled Chicagoans

It is a shame that Chicago's 1%ers can meet at Smith and Wolinsky's and pony up hundreds of thousands of dollars and invest in a bar or a restaurant, but take a pass on helping to fund the only real news source in Chicago - The Chicago News Cooperative. I mean aside from a guy who moved to Chicago and already pumps millions into schools, the great John Canning, where are all of the Oxen Gore-ing PlumpCats and Kittens? Support Chicago News Cooperative. Us Helots are already pumped dry, by Rahm, Boss Preckwinkle, Governor Easter Bunny, and Boss Claypool -not to mention Boss Shakman.

This great source of news should be supported by the people who have the most treasure in their kicks. If you have a couple of hundred thousand dollars laying around your Gold Coast condo, Lakeview gray stone, or Hyde Park mansion, give Jim Warren a call, or write a huge check to

Tribune Truth Commission: I Giggled All Through Mass

Illinois Progressive Machine - pols and union leaders do not mean Progressive Brahmins, or SEIU.

A Truth Commission, then, could cast light on these rampant abuses by pols and union leaders of rank-and-file workers and Illinois taxpayers. Then the rest of us taxpayers can apply whatever heat is necessary to enact significant reforms.

I heard today's Gospel read and immediately giggled like a six year old. The old bat next to me shushed me, not once but three times. "Grow up!" she hissed. As if.

I tried to stop giggling but God help me I could not. I so bad that I giggled all the way to the Communion rail. It was a Saturday Mass, so I guess that might absolve me a little bit.

It was funny. I had read Saturday's early on-line editorial in the Chicago Medill . . .Tribune. The Tribune is playing cold case investigation of the Illinois legislature, in order to find fault with 'somebody' for the current economic collapse that can be easily laid in the laps of the people who caused it - The Progressives.

Illinois is underwhelmed by revenue, because the Dawn Clark Netsch, Ain't She Great, poster-boy for pie-chart Marxism Ralph Martire has not been laughed out of the room for twenty years.

That is the essence of the problem; that, and the fact that Abner Mikva and other Brahmin's have not had a commission in a week or so. Abner Mikva chaired the Gaming Commission about ten years ago, that investigated Emerald Casino, that happened to be a pet project for ruin by the Tribune Editorial Board. Mikva killed Emerald's license to the nods and hushed awe of the progressive Machine. Illinois Gaming is now as pure as honey-dew vine water! Lord Ha' Mercy!

But at the bullshit buffet that is Illinois Progressive thought, one can not but guffaw.

Here's the Gospel passage from St. Matthew that got me in Dutch with the Shawlies all around me.

"What do you think? A man had two sons; and he went to the first and said, `Son, go and work in the vineyard today.

'And he answered, `I will not'; but afterward he repented and went.

And he went to the second and said the same; and he answered, `I go, sir,' but did not go.
Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the harlots believed him; and even when you saw it, you did not afterward repent and believe him.

I see the first son as the legislators of 1991 - yeah, alright we'll get to it. Illinois was pretty flush with revenue back then -Saddam was launching SCUDS into Israel, Bubba was diddling Paula Jones and underaged Arkansas interns and the economy was flush and Jon Burge was fired as a cop. Shoot, the Red Chinese wanted to open more Soy Sauce works in Illinois.

Guess what? Dawn Clark Netsch was the Illinois Comptroller (Dawn Clark Netsch (1991-1995)! The Illinois Comptroller cuts the checks from the revenue that comes in.

The Comptroller is charged, by the terms of Section 17 of Article V of the Constitution of Illinois, with the duties of: (a) maintaining the central fiscal accounts of the state, and (b) ordering payments into and out of the funds held by the Treasurer of Illinois. In accordance with this duty, the Comptroller signs paychecks or grants approval to electronic payments made by the state to its employees and creditors.

Kind of a Truth Commissioner on the public larder. Well DCN was cool with the Comptrolling and then ran for Governor. Ain't She Great?

D.C. Netsch was an Illinois Legislator along with the bad guys litanized in the Chicago Medill . . .Tribune. Now, I am given to understand that Ms. Netsch was a 'wide-awake' eagle-eyed public servant who would, were she so inclined, swoop down on corrupt snakes and pluck them from the sand. Maybe not.

Public Unions got powerful because of the Progressive Machine and sapped Illinois Revenue and Progressives like D.C.Netsch foisted pie-chart pirate Ralph Martire on us all to dazzle the Chicago Medill . . .Tribune and other news hounds. Cry Bullshit! and let slip the dogs of whores. . . and other protected species in the food chain!

Lawsuit Lotto Lawyers began raping taxpayers over police torture, discrimination ( gay, racial, dietary, you name it), SEIU became Big Labor, Wages became determined by legislation and not collective bargaining. More Ain't She/He Great Progressive Brahmins were no longer laughed out of the room. They became somebodies, by dint of appointments.

The second son in the Gospel is the Media - they say they will go into the vineyard and grunt and sweat, but they only manage to get Abner Mikva a paid commission, Ralph Martire a steady income flow, the Better Government Association stocked with pikers who stalk truck drivers and plumbers to catch them napping and after Illinois has gone to Shit, trot out salaries.

Truth Commission? Oh, Hell yeah. Why not.

How many tax-dollars have gone to Education programs mandated for Illinois schools to advocate abortion, Homosexual Marriage, idiotic sex education curricula and other hot button Progressive agendas?

How many millions of tax dollars have gone to make SEIU and the other lesser light public employee boon-doggles?

How many billions of dollars have gone to studies, commissions and retreats to tell us that the middle class is not paying enough for Green Initiatives, Reversing the Chicago River, and High Speed Rails?

How many gazillions of taxpayer dollars have not only fattened the wallets of Cadillac Commie lawyers, but also over-turned the convictions of thugs and killers?

One final question? Why did it take twenty years and the absence of the powerful from public life for the Chicago Medill . . .Tribune to pretend to grow a pair?

Jon Loevy -"cold-cocked him right in the face," As Opposed to . . .? Ambulance Chaser's Video is Equally as Clear as The Cal-Sag After a Flood.

Jon Loevy has made a fortune using the media to help him rake in tax-payer dollars from Thug Happy lawsuits.

Jon Loevy is as responsible for the North Avenue Beach closings, Boystown beat-downs, Anywhere Chicago thug beat-downs, 'crimes of opportunity,' Roseland 24/7, and the loss of revenue at Taste of Chicago, as all of the other bottom-feeding lawyers/activists who use the Sherwin Williams Race Paint in undermining confidence in Law and Law officials ( all cops, some States Attorneys, and the better judges).

If your kids ask why they can no longer ride the CTA and Metra, go to Grant Park, River North, McDonald's, Walgreens, Louis Vitton, AMC theatres, or perhaps with current City Council legislation, stay out in front of the house past 8:30 PM, tell the wee ones, "Jon Loevy needs to make more money, honeys"

Jon Loevy is no dope;nor, is he in any way interested what you Chicagoans think about our City-wide Thug Comfort Zone. Jon Loevy is all about using the media, gutless elected officials, and group-thought do-gooder loud-mouths who seem to subsist on a steady diet of bullshit, to amass more millions.

Get a load of this video that Jon Loevy trotted out for his latest shakedown:

According to the Tribune's Breaking News (click my post title)Lawyer Loevy added with characteristically faux broad shouldered street cred that a police officer bitch slapped his client -"cold-cocked him right in the face."

Can one be 'cold-cocked' from a blow to another part of the human anatomy? From the video one can clearly ascertain that some mischief is afoot.

Police violence?

-". . . cold-cocked him right in the the tender part of the upper arm he did."
