Chicago's Thug Comfort Zone Kills Kids and Christmas

Chicago is a thug comfort zone.  It became so, because of anti-police mythologies, a complete undermining of any and all confidence in the American Justice system and the racial grievance industry.

A thug can kill with impunity and murder witnesses..  This weekend,  a 15 year old boy was murdered because a 17 year old thug wanted his jacket. No police officer has been charged with killing a kid for his Ipod, Timberlines, Jordans, jewelry, or inability to answer the fundamental GD, Stones, or Mickey Cobra catechism questions.  Nevertheless, police officers are public enemy number one, because of flannel-mouthed morons like Michale Eric Dyson, Al Sharpton, Joan Walsh, Chris Hayes and Chicago's editorial boards,

Thugs kill and rob with impunity.

Did you know that in Gresham, Englewood, Grand Crossing, Chatham and Bronzville neighborhoods Black families refrain from putting up Christmas decorations in order to signal the thugs that there is nothing under tree.

Only this morning, one of the young guys whom I drive to Leo High School every morning had his home broken into on Saturday and his family's Christmas presents redistributed to the thugs.

The family took down the Christmas tree, the lights and any other notification of shared values.  If your home or apartment in the 'Hood displays Christmas, the thugs find cause to rob you.

This war on Christmas goes way beyond the Bill O'Reilly-variety; this war on Christmas is personal.

The news media gooses the numbers of idealistic dopes who Metra into the Loop from our suburban Napervilles, Wilmettes and Winnetkas who need to march in solidarity against "police violence," purchase an "I Can't Breathe" T-shirt, beat a few drums and disrupt traffic when called into Action by race fakirs like Sharpton and pasty-faced clowns like MBC's Brian Williams.

We live in a thug comfort zone, because we are OK with it.  We feel good about it. It is cathartic to blame the cops, march in solidarity and assuage white guilt, or black frustration.  It sure beats actually doing something about it - like facing our own demons, defending the sanctity of life, working for institutions and people who are not a huge part of problem and actually being accountable, for something.

The Christ Child is naked, cold and about to take a 9mm if Joe and Mary don't give up the  gold, frankincense and myrrh.

I'm Hearing 'Gun Violence' is Bad . . .Everything Else is Just Dandy!

I heard the Chicago Police boss say that 17 deaths and 82 bullet mutilations is just unacceptable. He immediately shifted blame from shooters holding hand guns to his people with a John Deweyesque lab lesson, “We're square-rooting* nine ways from Sunday what is it that happened. Was it a fatigue factor? Did we give (too many) people (time) off? Because the fireworks were Friday and Saturday. That's where we had a lot of folks deployed during those time frames.” He admitted the numbers of bodies taking rounds was unacceptable,

I wonder, what exactly would be an acceptable rate of ballistic intrusions on carbon foot-prints over a few hours in Chicago?  A real headstratcher that one.

Mayor Chicagoland was equally huffed and puffed about the numbers, the optics and the growth of ballistic corporeal intrusions over Independence Day Weekend. These guys are almost mildy concerned enough to actually give voice to what everyone else in Chicago knows?

Not a chance.
In April when the temperatures spiked after the long Arctic Chicago winter, so do did bullet gusts and Rahm said,
"Every child deserves a childhood, regardless of where they live. But to do that, our city and community, the neighborhoods that make up this city, cannot live by a code of silence," Emanuel said at a news conference at an Edgewater school to announce more international baccalaureate programs. "They have to live by a moral code."
"Now I've read some of this, and I just want to say this, when some people go 'Well, it's the weather.' It's whether you have values," the mayor said. "Yes, weather's an impact. Where you put police is an impact. Whether you have summer jobs, after school programs, camps, summer reading programs. We have to do that and more."

And By Jingo, he did!  In fact he said so in the wake of 4th July fussilades, "While [Chicago is] providing record summer educational job opportunities and summer jobs, where is the federal [government] with assistance to expand that?"

Rahm knows that After School Programs do more to stop bullets* travelling between 770 -840 feet per second than decking out an entire neighborhood in T-shirts and marching behind Reverends at Gun Shops, or posting STOP GUN VIOLENCE signage hither and yon in ballistic afflicted neighborhoods.

Certainly, After School Programs do much, much more than having a well-led, well-manned and well-backed Police Department unencumbered by showers of pissy lawsuits and pissier media smears of cops doing their jobs bolstered by the pissiest of academic frauds with pie charts and mythopoeic yarns of systemic racism, brutality and working class contempt in bringing bad guys, cut-purses and sundry ne'er-do-wells to book for actual crimes.

After School Programs, especially when school is out for the summer, will end the bloodbath and bring Robert Redford's documentary crews back for another clear-eyed look at this Shooting Gallery on the Lake.

Boy, and all this time, silly me, I believed it was due to the fact that vicious, self-absorbed, bone-stupid and well armed thugs feel that they can get away with murder in Chicago, because Rahm, Daley, the Alderpersons, Toni Preckwinkle, Northwestern's Wrongful Industry, G. Flint Taylor, Locke Bowman,  Loevy & Loevy, both newspapers' editorial boards and icon columnists, WTTW, Pat Quinn, University of Chicago, CPS and too many grant-making philanthropies have made Chicago A Thug Comfort Zone.Police booking photo of Richard L. Magnan, 35, of Evergreen Park, IL. Thugs of all ethnic origins are surely welcome like this Evergreen Park native, sporting the fine old Irish/Viking name of Magnan.  Perhaps, when he came home from the Tattoo parlor sporting the Message at the center of what passes for his forehead might have indicated the road less travelled but certainly most bloody.

Science, my boy, science!

* Square Rooting -"Last year saw dramatic improvements after a particularly violent 2012 when Chicago topped 500 homicides for only the third time in a decade. But the momentum has appeared to slow so far this year. Through Sunday, homicides have dropped 5.6 percent, to 185, 11 fewer than the year earlier, police statistics show. But shooting incidents have risen to 953, up 5.3 percent from 905."

Bullet Mass = 10.2 grams
Velocity = 230 meters per second
Energy = 282 Joules

Cucumbers, Cops and Chicago Media! Where's the Loevy?

I am not surprised that only hours after the revelation of Team Loevy's aiding and abetting Police Torture by a CPD Alumnus, Steve Manning-Mandel, no other suggestions of coming investigations are afoot by the Chicago Corporate Media. In fact, the report itself has been "edited"

Here is January 20,2014 report from the Federal Court at 1:27PM

Mandell said he did “a little bit” of the spying he was being paid for, but was conning Michael by claiming to be doing more work than he was being paid for.
He said he used the computer databases and other tools at the civil rights law firm Loevy & Loevy, where he was working as an unpaid process server, to research half a dozen targets Michael had asked him to keep tabs on.
That’s a potential embarrassment for the highly-regarded law firm, which represented Mandell in a 2005 wrongful conviction case against the FBI
.  - BY KIM JANSSEN Federal Courts Reporter February 20, 2014 1:27PM
Here is the "updated" report that is heavier on cucumbers than Loevy & Loevy.
In the end, it was the cucumber salad that did Steve Mandell in. . . .He used his unpaid job at civil rights law firm Loevy and Loevy to research Michael’s rivals, he said.  Updated: February 21, 2014 2:26AM  (emphases my own)
That is some update.      The cucumber trumps the computer used by Steve Mandell in the offices of Loevy & Loevy?  Count the number of times Steve Mandell is refered to as ex-cop, or former Chicago Police Officer and then try and find the Loevy & Loevy in the print media these next few days,

Loevy & Loevy are believed to be the arch-enemies of cops who torture, yet have and unpaid cop planning a sophisticated torture and execution chamber under their very snot-lockers?  Can't have that and continue to set the likes of Anthony Porter, Aaron Paterson and other worthies back into the the very communities they terrorized.  Can't have that and expect G. Flint Taylor to fight Gator Bradley for spilled nickels on the court room floor.

Reporters have a tough job. They get the story. They write the facts of the story and then find that their facts must fit the print according to the editorial policy folks.   Hence, Kim Janssen's report from the Federal Court on January 20th found itself 'updated.'

The Chicago news media is invested in the activities of Loevy & Loevy, as much as the elected officials and policy wizards who need to have the police presented as racist, brutal and corrupt.  All inquiry ends there.

Loevy & Loevy make millions of dollars from suits brought against Law Enforcement ( police, prosecutors, judges and the public they serve) and Loevy & Loevy provides capital in coin and court cases that create compelling yarns.  Loevy & Loevy were complicit in a torture plot managed by a man who briefly and infamously had been a cop decades ago.

Steve Mandell is a convicted monster.  Loevy & Loevy are this monster's Frankenstein.

City Council Unanimously Votes Ban On Torture -Another Meaningless Bit of Self-Puffery by 50 Needy People

Sister Benita Coffey and the Coalitions she represents.

This morning, Chicago Tribune's opinion page featured another in the endless shower of Police Torture screeds. This was written by Bendictine Sister Benita Coffey and has all of the value of a Confederate $100 Bill.

Here is a taste:

Last week, the Chicago City Council unanimously passed a resolution against torture, a symbolic act, at best. Torture is inhumane, banned by the United Nations and most civilized nations, and is contrary to the core beliefs of the world's major religions.

So why are the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, the Illinois Coalition Against Torture and religious communities like mine lauding this as a historic event? We shouldn't have had to ask our elected officials to pass legislation proscribing torture. It seems to be basic common sense, instinctive human behavior to abhor torture. To inflict cruel and inhuman treatment is beneath us as human beings.

While applauding our city's leaders for making Chicago the first city in the nation to condemn torture, we are certainly not seeing our goal anywhere near being accomplished. This is one deliberate and necessary step. It will indeed be a long road to raise the consciousness of the general public that torture is a reality; it is happening and likely will continue until we demand that it stop.

If memory serves, Sister, Jesus joined no Coalition. Plenty of torture going around, his cousin got himself beheaded and all, but Jesus never signed up with the Sicarri, or Zealots, in their Coalition Against The Stooge Puppet King Herod and Roman Imperialists Masters and Crucifiers. Like Free Mumia, I recall that the crowd that demanded Jesus get a tune-up by the cohort prior to crucifixion, demanded Free Barabbas! Now, those folks were committed activists, Sister.

Sister decries the fact that the media paid not enough attention to her and the various coalitions. Sister, we have more Coalitions than Mount Carmel has football championship trophies and yet kids are murdered with impunity because lawyers get fat overturning convictions on meme that police torture, lie, intimidate and use saracasm.

Sister Benita Burge's Up -
The day also presented the opportunity for us to address another type of torture — prolonged solitary confinement. In Illinois, the Tamms Correctional Center is a supermax facility that incarcerates inmates in solitary confinement, often for months or years at a time, which mental health professionals define as torture. Here in Chicago, to our shame, former Chicago police Cmdr. Jon Burge and officers under him tortured some 200 suspects to the point of confessing to crimes they did not commit. These victims were imprisoned while most of those who tortured, except Burge, who was convicted of a related crime, remain free.

Mental Health professionals? Incarceration of crazy thugs is torture - health care provided, educational opportunities abound, legal access to Lawsuit Lotto Lawyers, no to mention shelter, meals, and wardrobe; unlike the victims of these thugs, incarcerated under dirt until Judgement Day.

Sister Benita brings it home to Council and the Coalitions -This resolution declaring Chicago a torture-free city is a momentous occasion. We can be proud that our City Council can be called on to stand by its word and demand accountability if such violent treatment should ever again occur.

Sorry Sister, this is but another sanctimoniously meaningless bit of self-puffering from 50 people doing nothing meaningful, Sister.

Jon Burge was convicted of perjury after years of media bear-baiting and legal legerdemain.

G. Flint Taylor and legions of other fatuous opportunists have made fortunes by playing media, do-gooders and generations of young people completely unaquainted with the facts of the murders, arrests, convictions and subsequent judge shopping by Peoples Law Office, MacArthur Center for Justice, Loevy & Loevy.

There has been absolutely no proof of torture - hundreds of allegations and millions of dollars in payouts -but not one win in G.Flint Taylor's column.

Jon Burge was trapped in a legal maze created by time, judge shopping, media complicity and collective memory loss.

When torture appears, deal with it. That has yet to be proven. Truth is not something "We Can All Agree Upon." That is John Dewey.

There is much to pray for, Sister. Good people are up to their elbows helping young people read, write, add and subtract and somehow know that other people want to help them without lining their own pockets.

Praising a hollow and popular gesture like this means nothing and actually keeps the problems on our streets more than healthy. By the way, schools need teachers. I have not seen a nun here at Leo High School, in the heart Chicago's killing fields, in years. Facta Non Verba.

N. B. - do read Gregory Koger one of Sister Benita's Coalition Guys.

Here is Sister Benita's coalition pal's coda-“What the bourgeoisie therefore produces, above all, are its own grave-diggers.”—Karl Marx

And his Mission Statement:
The world today cries out for radical, fundamental change. . .
But the cruelest fact of all is this: IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY! For here is the glaring contradiction: in today’s world the production of things, and the distribution of the things produced, is overwhelmingly carried out by large numbers of people who work collectively and are organized in highly coordinated networks. At the foundation of this whole process is the proletariat, an international class which owns nothing, yet has created and works these massive socialized productive forces. These tremendous productive powers could enable humanity to not only meet the basic needs of every person on the planet, but to build a new society, with a whole different set of social relations and values…a society where all people could truly and fully flourish together.

—Constitution of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA

Here are the City Council Coalitions, Speakers and Advocates:
Speakers at the press conference and hearing included: Congressman Danny Davis; Flint Taylor, attorney with the People’s Law Office who has been instrumental in seeking justice for the men tortured by Chicago police commander John Burge; Dr. Frank Summers, psychologist who lead the fight within the APA to bar psychologists from participating in interrogations and torture in Guantanamo; Cherif Bassiouni, United Nations war crimes expert; Melinda Power and Margaret Power, Illinois Coalition Against Torture; Mary Lynn Everson, Marjorie Kovler Center; Sr. Benita Coffey, representing the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT); Laurie Jo Reynolds, activist with Tamms Year Ten; Mario Venegas, Chilean survivor of torture under Pinochet; Mark Clements, Burge torture survivor; Mary L. Johnson, mother of a Burge torture victim and inmate at Tamms Correctional Center, as well as several other mothers of Burge torture survivors; and Wallace “Gator” Bradley, who spoke to the use of torture in the federal ADX supermax prison.

G. Flint Taylor, Jon Loevy and Locke Bowman Set to Sue Braidwood House of Barks?

The Dog is a Pig, Man!

John Conroy will have an illustrated Children's Book ( Graphic Golden Book) detailing the horrors of Atom - the canine Jon Burge - who learned his techniques in 'Nam and bit testicles.

Every ambulance chasing Commie in Illinois must have morally indignant wood in their Dad 'N Lads.

Will Gator Bradley be an Urban Dog Whisperer?

Police dog fired for brutality

Two incidents of aggression cost him his job on the Braidwood Police Department, despite a petition signed by 403 people and public pleas asking the Braidwood City Council to reinstate him.

But the city just couldn’t stand for police brutality. Even if it did come from a dog.

The city ordered canine officer Atom into retirement, which he’ll spend at the home of his handler, Officer Doug Savarino.

City Attorney Scott Pyles said Atom cost the city $300,000 in settlements.

The dog, who joined the department in 2006, attacked a man who was already apprehended for a traffic stop and was not resisting. In a separate incident, he attacked an Illinois Conservation Police officer during a search for a suspect, Pyles said.

“We had to take some action,” Pyles said.

Mayor Bill Rulien said the department is bringing on a new dog, Neutron, but he is trained as a drug-sniffing dog, and has not been trained to attack, Rulien said.

“He will find drugs but not eat people,” Rulien said.

Giggle not.

Wierd is the new normal.

Chicago's Networked Activists Say, "Bring The Kids! The G-8 Riots Will Be Great!"

Your Bush 4 Defendants:GLN's Buddy Bell, Jeff Pickert, Kevin Clark and GLN's Andy Thayer will back for the G-8 Riots! Bring the Kids!

I have a dash above room temperature I.Q. - I think the tests were racist, or skewed against my cultural background. That said, I know that the media ignores whom they wish to ignore.

Pit bulls like Tim Novak of the Chicago Sun Times will dig their incisors into the rumps of 'bullet-proof' kin to powerful politicians. That is all good. Tim Novak is the absolute best and most honest of newsmen. He is interested in getting to the root causes of corruption. Novak is on the Daley/Davis real estate bonanza, as well as other crimes and misdemeanors of the nepotists.

However, no Chicago journalist ever bothers to connect the dots on the thick network of activists whose fibers form a Gordian knot of lucrative activism via academia, 501 (c) 3's, radical terrorism, public service PACs like SEIU, the media, lawsuit lotto lawyers, Brahmin agendas: Gay, Anti-War, Hamas, Cop Brutality (real and mostly imagined, Poverty Pimping, and tax-increase legislation.

Kevin Clark - a leader of the highly dicey International Solidarity Movement is also a Gay Liberation Activist who happens to work closely with self-proclaimed Catholic Anti-war activists, Hamas, and was the man who helped guide the late Rachel Corrie into the path of an Israeli Defence Force bulldozer. Clark led suits and protests against Peoria based Caterpillar for building bulldozers. Clark also spearheaded the Gaza Flotilla activism and the attack on Cardinal George one Easter Sunday a few years ago again using kids to do his work -Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War.

Then there is the ubiquitous Andy Thayer whose commercial challenged young would be Bolsheviks with his Thee You in the Threeth before blocking traffic and getting the challenged arrethted. That great Marilyn Katz-like video and so many others have been scrubbed on You Tube. You may remember it from 2003, a parade of earnest radicals in motorcycle helmets urged us all to See Them in the Street. Wasn't that a time, to paraphrase the Methuselah of Red Pete Seeger? Well here's activist Andy:

Andy, like the smarmy Clark, happens to be a Gay Liberation Activist which is nice, but he also works with Lawsuit Lotto Lawyer Jon Loevy who has made millions of dollars bringing suit against any and all law enforcement for any reason.

There also a parade of feminists nuns who shill for abortion and manage to wheedle money under the guise of charity who help the activists get gigs with Ariana Huffington, face time on WTTW and a pass from breaking the laws.

SEIU Joe Iosbaker has had a year of playing at Haymarket Martyr thanks to an FBI raid over his labors on behalf of Hamas. Joe wants Chicagoans to think of the G-* summit as a latter-day Republic Steel picnic (1937). Bring the kids in strollers and maybe the Bulls, not the team, but the old-timey Red handle for cops, will light up a few babies, when provoked by the Soul-Patched Knit-Hat Che T-shirt dweebs. " Cool Bix! Light the tires under Viaduct! Seatle!"

I believe ex- Professor Dave Protess has the bus wheel marks all over the back of his Brooks Brothers Oxford shirt, more because he shed light on the network of wealthy radical enterprises - I wonder way Professor of Law and Can't Practice Law NU's Bernardin Dohrn, who took a trip to Eygpt in solidarity just before the Gaza Flotilla disaster and the soapy Arab Spring, has not stood in solidarity with the Fagin of the Innocence Project? I know Chicago's supine media is not wondering the same thing.

The same clowns and posers, Andy, Kev, Joe, Sister Mary Forceps and their familiars, are there when trouble gets planned and never called on it.

The same geniuses vet our elected officials from White House on down to Commissioner of Side-walk safety.

Chicago activist Joe Iosbaker, who helped organize the RNC protests in 2008 and whose home was raided by FBI agents last October, said he applied for permits to hold demonstrations in Daley Plaza and Federal Plaza downtown the day the White House announced the city would host the summits.

So far, he has not heard anything about the status of the permits from the county about using Daley Plaza or the agency that controls Federal Plaza. City officials also have said organizers will not be able to apply for a permit for a planned march through the city until the first of the year, Iosbaker said.

“They told me they would get back to me in two weeks to let me know at least that we were in the process of getting the permit,” Iosbaker said. “That was nine weeks ago.”

Local activist Andy Thayer said demonstrations will be peaceful, despite a recent statement by police Superintendent Garry McCarthy that the department is preparing for “mass arrests” of protesters during the summit.

The remarks were especially galling given Chicago's mixed history of dealing with large demonstrations, Thayer said. Police in 2003 arrested about 900 people who marched to protest the start of the Iraq war, with some protesters held for up to 36 hours. The arrests prompted a class-action lawsuit, Thayer said.

“Statements like that from McCarthy have a chilling effect,” he said. “The city has a history of attacks on civil rights.”

Iosbaker noted that events like the G8 and World Trade Organization summits have seen some violence in their host cities. Iosbaker attributed the clashes to aggressive police, and said his group is planning to do nothing to disrupt the city or the conferences.

“What we want is a safe, permitted, legal protest,” Iosbaker said. “Something that parents feel safe bringing their babies in strollers to, and we want our voice to be heard.”

Should be a great outing for the whole family,Joe. Let us know how that all works out.

Chicago IndyMedia is a great place to see all these folks in a very postive light. Doing so would put me off my feed, but that's just me.

Kevin Clark recently returned to Chicago from serving as a human shield in the Israeli occupied territories as part of the International Solidarity Movement. In light of the killing of ISM member Rachel Corrie of Washington State, the shootings Brian Avery from New Mexico and Tom Hurndall of Great Britain, Clark describes daily life in Palestine and the brutality and dangers that Palestinians and ISM workers face every day. (article 2)
Andy Thayer is co-founder of the Gay Liberation Network (www.GayLiberation.net), a Chicago-based LGBT direct action group which has been a local leader in gay rights, anti-police brutality and anti-war organizing. As a leader in the local anti-war movement, he's helped organize most of the city's large anti-war protests for the last several years, including a march of 15,000 on Lake Shore Drive at the start of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. He's been arrested numerous times in various protests and was recently found not guilty of two felony counts from a January 2008 protest against the Chicago visit of President Bush. Last May he was among 30 LGBT activists arrested in the 4th annual gay pride demonstration in Moscow, Russia.

Chicago River Bridge Assassin - Dressed to Kill in Chicago's Thug Comfort Zone: Every Girl Crazy 'Bout a Sharp Dressed Man!

Clean shirt, new shoes
And I don't know where I am goin' to.
Silk suit,black tie,
I don't need a reason why.
They come runnin' just as fast as they can
Coz' every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man.
ZZ Top

The gunman was described as black with a thin build and short Afro, wearing a light blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and black shorts. He also may have worn a raincoat. Police said they found a shell casing and a backpack believed to belong to the gunman.

Gary Reidy was eating at the Smith & Wollensky steakhouse nearby when he thought he heard a car backfiring but later learned it was gunfire. "You don't expect this kind of thing on a Monday afternoon in downtown Chicago," he said.

Carl Burson Jr., 32, was on his way to a movie. "This is not a war zone, this is downtown Chicago," Burson said. "We don't do that down here."
Chicago Tribune

A brace of points:

1. The mope shooter "was described as black with a thin build and short Afro, wearing a light blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and black shorts." Not exactly an Adolph Menjou and certainly hardly a blend-in set of habiliments. Blue Dress Shirt and Black Shorts with a Raincoat?

2. "This us not a war zone, this is downtown Chicago. We don't do that down here."

What do you mean We, Carl? This is and has been a Thug Comfort Zone. Imagine, if a cop had premptively stopped our Beau Brummel with the Nine just short of his victim. The Tribune, reporting on this shooting, would have a full-force editorial war on the individual police officer with Jon Loevy, G. Flint Taylor and Locke Bowman standing ramrod straight like scowling, four-eyed Chinese-triplets in front of ninety microphones and hundreds of notepads bringing suit against the City, the police officer, Brooks Brothers, ZZ Top and GQ for Fashion Racism.

This one man Clown Posse shot and intended to kill, because he can -not could - anywhere, anytime and anyone. Not downtown? Really?

This ain't no movie, Carl.

Jon Loevy -"cold-cocked him right in the face," As Opposed to . . .? Ambulance Chaser's Video is Equally as Clear as The Cal-Sag After a Flood.

Jon Loevy has made a fortune using the media to help him rake in tax-payer dollars from Thug Happy lawsuits.

Jon Loevy is as responsible for the North Avenue Beach closings, Boystown beat-downs, Anywhere Chicago thug beat-downs, 'crimes of opportunity,' Roseland 24/7, and the loss of revenue at Taste of Chicago, as all of the other bottom-feeding lawyers/activists who use the Sherwin Williams Race Paint in undermining confidence in Law and Law officials ( all cops, some States Attorneys, and the better judges).

If your kids ask why they can no longer ride the CTA and Metra, go to Grant Park, River North, McDonald's, Walgreens, Louis Vitton, AMC theatres, or perhaps with current City Council legislation, stay out in front of the house past 8:30 PM, tell the wee ones, "Jon Loevy needs to make more money, honeys"

Jon Loevy is no dope;nor, is he in any way interested what you Chicagoans think about our City-wide Thug Comfort Zone. Jon Loevy is all about using the media, gutless elected officials, and group-thought do-gooder loud-mouths who seem to subsist on a steady diet of bullshit, to amass more millions.

Get a load of this video that Jon Loevy trotted out for his latest shakedown:

According to the Tribune's Breaking News (click my post title)Lawyer Loevy added with characteristically faux broad shouldered street cred that a police officer bitch slapped his client -"cold-cocked him right in the face."

Can one be 'cold-cocked' from a blow to another part of the human anatomy? From the video one can clearly ascertain that some mischief is afoot.

Police violence?

-". . . cold-cocked him right in the the tender part of the upper arm he did."

Chicago Police Officers - Targets of Savages and Clever Lawyers

In jsut a matter of a few weeks, three Chicago Police Officers have been murdered in Chicago's Thug Comfort Zone. Savages murder with impunity because they can.

Veteran Chicago Police Officer Michael Bailey follows the rookie Chicago Police Officer Thomas Wortham IV and veteran Chicago Police Officer Thor Soderberg to the grave because there is no fear of the law and none whatsoever of Law Enforcement.

I plan to examine the the rise of Loevy and Loevy law firm which specializes in suing Law Enforcement and Chicago Police Officers in particular. Loevy and Loevy is a nitch industry that targets police officers. Thugs can target police officers and rest assured that will find sharp, service-oriented attornies ready, will and able to advocate their suits with the full power of every columnist and editorial board trying their case in the court of public opinion. Police officers are on their own.

I will be talking to John Flood, for whom Arthur Loevy once worked. John Flood is a celebarted police officer and police labor leader*.

Jon Loevy, it seems to me, learned how to target police officers and sue cities, townships and counties from his father - one-time labor lawyer and powerhouse Arthur Loevy.

This, to me, is a public safety issue.

*John J. Flood Biography

John J. Flood, a seasoned veteran of police work, is the founder of the Combined Counties Police Association, one of the most well-known and respected independent law enforcement unions ever formed in the United States.

An established and recognized crime fighter and authority on the La Cosa Nostra and the Chicago Outfit, Flood was an associate of the late FBI agent and author Bill Roemer. Flood advised Roemer on much of the information on the mob that was used in his many books.

Mr. Flood is recognized by his peers to be one of the foremost experts on organized crime, syndicate gambling, and vice activities in Illinois and nationally. His career began as a patrol officer in the Wheeling Police Department after three years in the US Army. Two years later, he submitted his application to the Cook County Police Department. The stirrings of law enforcement reform within the Sheriff’s Police were taking place. The Department was going through major reorganization of historic note.

Flood caught one of two "hit cars" ever taken down in the history of Chicago where he was almost murdered. Joey "Lumpy" Lombardo tried to run Flood over with his car when he and Frank Schweihs were right in the act of committing a syndicate-ordered hit. The victim to be – mob facilitator, Richard Hauff. (Read the story.)

Flood's police background was in his blood. His father, John T. Flood, was a First Grade New York City Detective, serving 30 years. He was very familiar with Organized Crime activities in the City of New York, information he passed on to his son. John was brought up on the mean streets of the Bronx, New York, where you ended up either good or bad. He served in the US Army, remaining in Chicago after receiving an Honorable Discharge at For Sheridan, Illinois.

Cook County voters had just elected a man of character and integrity to the Office of Cook County Sheriff. That man was Richard B. Ogilvie, who had successfully prosecuted nationally known mob Chieftain Tony Accardo and six years later became Governor of Illinois. Ogilvie committed his regime to ending influence peddling, political corruption, and the menacing vice grip of organized crime in Cook County. To these ends, it was necessary to select a cadre of elite police officers who were above reproach -- men of courage and sterling character who would be guided by their conscience and committed to Sheriff Ogilvie's agenda for historic change. One such man was the youthful but aggressive Flood. He led many gambling raids into syndicate-infiltrated suburbs and particularly the Town of Cicero, a stronghold of organized crime since the days of Al Capone.

Flood's work earned the highest praise from his fellow officers and the Ogilvie's administration. The Chicago Crime Commission cited him in several of their yearly reports for his arrests of organized crime figures.

Flood was promoted to Supervisor-in-Charge of Vice for the Northern half of Cook County. He was the youngest officer to hold down such a sensitive post. In this capacity he participated in, and supervised numerous gambling raids countywide. He was quickly familiarized with the inner workings of organized crime, particularly as it related to illegal bookmaking, wire rooms, and card games. Chicago Police officers whom Ogilvie had handpicked for their street ability and knowledge of organized crime to unleash reform imparted their exclusive knowledge and guided him.

Flood was next appointed to Supervisor-in-Charge of the Detective Section for the northern half of Cook County and was subsequently assigned as the Supervisor-in-Charge of the Criminal Indictment Warrant and Fugitive Section at the Criminal Courts Building, 2600 S. California Ave. During these years, Flood continued to zero in on syndicate hoodlums and their criminal activity with little regard for his own personal safety. Simply collecting a paycheck and marking time -- fine for some police officers -- was never John Flood's personal style.

Frustrated by the administrative bureaucracy and high level corruption that continued to permeate the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department, and the patent disregard for the rights of the street cops he so dearly loved, John Flood decided it was time to enact meaningful change in to police departments. He and other police officers formed the Cook County Police Association (renamed the Combined Counties Police Association in later years), to serve as the collective bargaining agent for police officers. Their actions and activities made law enforcement history.

Until John Flood established CCPA there had never been a true police union in Illinois. No one with the courage of his or her convictions had dared speak out before. He was the pioneer and led the way. He laid the foundation for rights and job benefits that at one time were unheard of in the police profession. He led more job actions by police officers than any other law enforcement union leader in the United States. All of the salary benefits enjoyed by officers today were initiated by the police union – that was known to every political official as “Flood’s union”

Following a highly successful and publicized police strike in the Town of Cicero, the fledgling union negotiated a series of ground-breaking collective bargaining agreements for police officers in the State of Illinois. Mr. Flood's personal leadership, charisma and the courage to shine the spotlight on wrongdoing in high places, established as a man for the times.

In recognition of this fact, Mr. Flood has received numerous commendations and appointments, including the Illinois Attorney General's Law Enforcement Advisory Committee, and the Illinois Law Enforcement Commission. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Crime Commission and is a member of the Illinois Academy of Criminology. Mr. Flood has spoken at numerous universities, symposiums, and labor relations seminars across the United States and was honored by the Emerald Society of Illinois as the 1994 "Police Officer of the Year."

He was cited for arresting a rape and home invasion suspect wanted by the Cook County Sheriff's police. (Read the news story.)

In 1989, Flood announced his candidacy for Sheriff of Cook County. Having spent a decade exposing corruption in the Cook County Sheriff's Office, and battling the corrupt administration of Sheriff James O'Grady and his convicted Under sheriff, James E. Dvorak, Flood vowed to clean up the agency. He ran on a platform to eliminate the election of Sheriff, and called for the appointment instead by the Cook County Board.

Mr. Flood resides in Chicago, Illinois and Las Vegas, Nevada. . . .
He is a frequent guest on television and radio talk show programs around the country, addressing the Mafia, Organized Crime and Police and Policing issues. He is available for public speaking engagements and seminars on police and labor relations, and on issues involving organized crime. To make an appointment, call (702) 991-1848

Loevy & Loevy v. Law Enforcement - You Tube Blue & Five Cop Geologists

Arthur Loevy was a labor lawyer for Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union ("ACTWU")and he became the top of the labor pyramid -Secretary Treasurer -International Executive Vice President of ACTWU, International Secretary-Treasurer of ACTWU that is the co-captain of the team along with President. Huge. A Titan. Then he left? What happened?

He became a salaried legal consultant for a Police Union?

Then, Jon Loevy gets tossed a heater case by old Al Holfeld a lawyer who tried to be a U.S. Senator and Illinois Attorney General and Dad came back armed with knowledge about cops and how cops work and think.

He had Cops and Loevy and Loevy still have cops - These five:

William Stutzman Wheeling P D ( RET )

Solomon Smith Maywood P D ( RET )*

Michael Dwyer Evergreen Pakr P D

Marty McGrath Oak Lawn P D

Butch McGorkle Burbank P D

These police officers played an active part in the launching of the Loevy & Loevy law firm and three have an active part with barrister Arthur Loevy - to this day
Kind of like that Man from Glad looking guy on the old Perry Mason show? No. He was a private dick. These are cops. States Attorneys get cops. Loevy & Loevy? Moonlight work, I suppose, and probably lucrative.

Three cops still on the job and two retired do the geological survey and find the gold.

It's an industry and Loevy and Loevy is industrious.

More down the pike, Kids.

* FYI -

Bellwood deputy chief lacks arrest powers
BY JOHN HUSTON
STAFF WRITER
In spite of his involvement in two high profile arrests earlier this year, Bellwood's second-highest ranking police officer is not qualified to place individuals under arrest.
In fact, Deputy Chief George Murray is not even listed on the Bellwood Police Department's official roster with the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, though he was hired two years ago.
The ILETSB is the agency which oversees all law-enforcement and correctional officers in the state, outside of the Illinois State Police.
Murray was hired by Bellwood in 2003 after he retired from the State Police, where he served for nearly 30 years.
Since the State Police have their own training process, different from that which municipal officers go through, Murray would have had to apply for a waiver from the ILETSB in order to qualify as an officer for the Bellwood department.
But that waiver was never issued and the ILETSB has no record of Murray.
"They have to let us know he was hired and ask for a waiver based on the fact that he was trained by the State Police, but I don't have any of that," said Sheila Albright, spokeswoman for the ILETSB. "He is not listed as a certified officer in Illinois."
Also not listed on Bellwood's roster is Wilson Pierce, Bellwood's public safety director and interim police chief, who was hired at the same time as Murray.
Pierce refused to comment on the matter.
"I can simply tell you that Deputy Chief Murray has (nearly) 30 years of experience as a police officer with the Illinois State Police," Pierce said.
He refused to comment on why a waiver wasn't applied for with the ILETSB that would allow Murray to make arrests.
As for why neither Murray or Pierce were added to Bellwood's official police roster, Pierce responded, "I wouldn't know what that reason was."
Pierce said the public safety director position is purely administrative and that he has not made any arrests, but refused to comment on whether he holds the power to make arrests.
When reached by telephone, Murray would not answer questions about his qualifications.
Since Murray is not recognized as a certified police officer, he is not allowed to make arrests or carry a weapon -- both of which he has done.
One of Murray's arrest came April 8 when Jeanette Johnson, a Bellwood police officer and former Bellwood School District 88 Board president, was charged with battery to a police officer, resisting a peace officer and violating election code.
Johnson's attorney, Tom Crooks, said he filed a motion to dismiss the resisting charge at a Friday hearing due to the information that Murray is not a peace officer.
No judgment was made on the motion and the case was continued until Aug. 5, said Colin Simpson of the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
"I had a brief conversation with the deputy chief and asked him if he had a wavier and he said he did not and he wanted to talk to the town's lawyers, so I continued it for a short date," Simpson said.
Another arrest Murray made may also hinge on whether he is determined by the court to be unqualified to make arrest, Simpson said.
On March 31, then Bellwood mayoral candidate David Ireland and his campaign coordinator Solomon Smith were arrested at a Metra station and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer after allegedly removing campaign literature from car windows.
Murray was the arresting officer in that case, Ireland said.
"He was the officer in charge of the scene and he was the highest-ranking officer that was there," Ireland said. "He actually came to the scene and gave directions and told folks what to do."
He also questioned how Murray could be hired, promoted from captain to deputy chief and allowed to make arrests without the proper protocol.
"What kind of a mayor do we have who would not properly put people in place, (but instead get) people who do not have the qualifications and the training?" Ireland asked. "Not only are people at risk, but our village (is at risk) because you're talking potential lawsuits.
"In my mind, it speaks to the integrity of the mayor -- is he really looking out for our best interests? Or is he asleep on the job?"
Mayor Frank Pasquale said he knew that Murray did not have the proper qualifications with the ILETSB to make arrests and that neither he nor Pierce were on the department's official roster.
"We're aware of it," Pasquale said.
He added that both men appeared to have the proper experience for their posts.
"Their background, I thought, was quite impressive," Pasquale said.

Loevy & Loevy v. Law Enforcement, Part II - Help from Cops

Loevy and Loevy, That's Jon Loevy, conducting Law in front of the very willing and compliant corporate media: this was from the famous Screwdriver Houdini case. "To avoid further litigation, the City's attorneys agreed to settle for $4 million (plus attorneys' fees and expenses) if the jury found in favor of Coffie, and nothing for Coffie if the jury found in favor of the police defendants."

I received a note from a Law Enforcement Professional and Organized crime expert. This gentlemen worked very close with Arthur Loevy in forming a Police Union. Ironically, the Arthur Loevy the powerful labor lawyer who networked with labor dollar stuffed Amalgamated Bank of Chicago, Sidley and Austin, and founded UNITE seems to have abandoned the working police officers he purported to "organize" and took the power of his knowledge to make mountains of money for himself and his son - Police suing lawyer Jon Loevy.

Loevy and Loevy go wherever any voice, usually a career criminal, claims the slighests intimation of abuse. Loevy and Loevy force cities, villages and townships to settle with a huge pie of cash ( 1/3 to Loevey and Loevy) that came out of taxpayers pockets.

Arthur Loevy was proud to see his boy Jon clerk for Judge Milton Shadur, work briefly for the blue stocking firm of Sidley and Austin and then -

Starting these Lawyers ( Arthur and Jon Loevy) on their career - mentioned on your blog Mr. Hickey - on their firm's path - their way forward from the law firms embryonic stage in 1999 - being attorneys suing those in law enforcement - are the following police officers - intimately involved:

William Stutzman - Wheeling P D Just recently retired

Michael Dwyer - Evergreen Park P D

Butch McGorcle - Burbank P D

Marty McGrath - Oak Lawn P D

Solomon Smith - Maywood P D ( RET)

One of the first cases Loevy firm had was against Chief Jim Houk of Oak Lawn P D - another top ranking officer - Terry Voderer and the Village of Oak Lawn.

The above named five police officers initiated - steered Arthur Loevy to that law suit.

The case was settled by the Village of Oak Lawn against the wishes of the police officers because it would cost more for the Village of Oak Lawn to defend the suit rather than to settle the case.

Loevy was representing a Oak Lawn police officer named Carlos Panthera whom Chief Houk had rightfully brought dismissal charges against for amongst other issues bragging of gang involved activity. Panthera left the P D.

Loevy went forward to make more money - the money being the raison d’être for his involvement at that time and presently.

Three Chicago Police Officers have had their pockets picked by Loevy and Loevy only last week, as part of a Jon Loevy $1.3 m dollar settlement. Talk about profiling and police abuse!
Several years ago Second City Sarge, a police blog, noted:

People who live in crime ridden areas often ask the police why they can't do more to the criminal element. I truly believe that the efforts of firms like Loevy & Loevy have hamstrung hard working policemen and the good people of Chicago pay literally and figuratively.
According to the Loevy & Loevy website "the guiding principle governing our decision process can be summarized very simply: achieving justice." Bullshit! Its money!
Read for yourself the Loevy & Loevy Website and see what contempt this firm has for the police.
If its all about justice why hasn't Jon Loevy taken on the wrongful deaths of policemen at the hands of cold blooded murderers? The answer: Money!

I can not believe that police officers are helping Loevy and Loevy, but then again, I still go to Confession on Saturdays. You see Loevy and Loevy not only makes millions of dollars, but they helped create Chicago's Thug Comfort Zone - Thugs feel free and even compelled to savagely kill. I have witnessed the death of great kids at the hands of these savages - Jason Riley Leo 2004 Valedictorian and Golden Gloves Champion was slaughtered at 69th & Ashland. Thugs can murder and if caught they call Loevy and Loevy! Crime pays handsomely.

This is interesting. Should be more to come.

It is funny, Chicago's news media never mentioned this riches to riches tale of the Family Loevy.

Loevy v. Law Enforcement - Gold Mine of Settlements!

"There are 13,000 officers in the Chicago Police Department, and the proportion who violate rights in proportion to those who generate a lawsuit is very small," said Jon Loevy, founding attorney at civil rights law firm Loevy and Loevy. "Getting sued, particularly more than once, is really crossing the line in a way that could put the city on notice that extra scrutiny is merited.

Yes indeed, "Getting sued, particularly more than once, is really crossing the line in a way that could put the city on notice that extra scrutiny is merited." That said, Doing the suits, particularly more than once, is really crossing the line in a way that should put the city, the tax-payers and news media on notice that extra scrutiny is merited.

Jon Loevy started suing police Departments when he quit Sildey and Austin and after clerking for Judge Milton Shadur. I believe that he started in Oak Lawn, Illinois when the Village settled out of court and the rest is litigation history.

Last week, three Chicago police Detectives were ordered to pay Loevy out of their own pockets. That was stunning.

Donny McGee’s award is to include $330,000 from the officers’ personal funds, according to Loevy & Loevy Attorneys at Law.

McGee, who spent three years in prison, was to face the death penalty in the murder of Ethel Perstlen, 76.

Detective Edward Farley, Detective Robert Lenihan and Officer Robert Bartik fabricated a confession from McGee that was not written, audiotaped or videotaped, the lawyers added.

How did lawyer Jon Loevy happen on to the gold mine that it is Loevy & Loevy?

I am just a high school teacher who reads the papers.

It seems to me that Jon Loevy is just about the only really aggressive Police suing lawyer in the business. Marxist Millionaire G. Flint Taylor is a whole other hairball - he has Burge Industries. But Jon Loevy seems to be the Bill Gates of Police Lawsuits. He files suit and cities settle - no muss and no fuss.

I think Jon Loevy does it for money - period. G. Flint Taylor? Whole other hairball. He does it for money and ideology. Jon Loevy? Money. Tons of money. Always taxpayer money - except now he can root nickels out of the modest savings of police officers as well. A new Tsunami.

I became a teacher because I like to read and share my love reading and writing - what a guy. I am also a real trainwreck around tools. My family are all skilled tradesmen.

Jon Loevy followed his Dad into the law and his Dad followed his son into Lawsuits Against the Cops,

Arthur Loevy was groomed some say to be a Labor Lawyer. He was that. He was huge.

Loevy and Loevy, pater et filius, sue police everywhere*. It will be interesting to look into just why. Money, to be sure, but just how Jon Loevy got to the gold.

Well, there's Dad -Arthur Loevy

Arthur Loevy graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1963, and has been a member of the Illinois bar continuously for more than forty years.
Arthur Loevy began his legal career practicing labor law until 1970 when he became an elected officer of a trade union, the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union ("ACTWU"). Arthur proceeded to serve in various elected capacities for trade unions, including International Executive Vice President of ACTWU, International Secretary-Treasurer of ACTWU, and, most recently International Secretary-Treasurer of the Union of Needle-Trades Industrial and Textile Employees (U.N.I.T.E.).
Arthur Loevy has also served as a Director and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Amalgamated Bank of New York (1990-98), the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Trustee of various Taft-Hartley insurance and trust funds for almost twenty years, the President of the Amalgamated Housing Foundation (1974-98), and the President of the Sidney Hillman Health Center in Chicago (1980-98).
Since January 1, 1997, Arthur Loevy has resumed the practice of law on a full-time basis. In 1998, he joined the law firm started by his son, Jon Loevy, and has practiced here ever since.

Unlike Lad Jon Loevy -
Jon Loevy is an extremely accomplished trial lawyer, having won more than $100 million in jury verdicts for his clients, all in cases involving challenging fact patterns and difficult to prove allegations against the government. Loevy has won 18 out of his last 20 jury trials, and his $100 million total in career jury awards includes twelve separate jury verdicts of $1 million or more. For more, click here: Recent Successes - Trials.
Loevy is also a highly successful appellate lawyer. Civil rights cases are notoriously hard to win, but Loevy was won 13 out of the last 16 he has argued before the federal appellate courts (including wins in the Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Circuits), the majority of which were on behalf of the appellant seeking to overturn an adverse ruling. For more, click here: Recent Successes - Appeals.
Jon Loevy's $28 million jury verdict in Regalado v. Chicago in 1999 is still the largest civil rights verdict in the City's history. Since that time, he has received million dollar-plus jury verdicts as lead counsel in eleven other "long shot" cases, including Duran v. Chicago in 2008 ($4.2 million for interference with child custody); Johnson v. Guevara in 2009 ($21 million for 11 years of wrongful conviction); Borsellino v. Putnam in 2009 ($11 million for fraud by the former president of the NYSE); Newman v. Squire in 2010 ($6 million for wrongful death); Coffie v. Chicago in 2007 ($4 million for police brutality); Dominguez v. Waukegan in 2006 ($9 million for 4 years of wrongful conviction); Manning v. United States FBI in 2005 ($6.6 million for wrongful conviction); Ware v. Chicago in 2007 ($5 million for fatal police shooting); Garcia v. Chicago in 2003 ($1 million); and Russell v. Chicago in 2003 ($1.5 million for fatal police shooting); and Waits v. Chicago in 2002 ($1.5 million for police brutality).
After one victory, the Honorable James F. Holderman, Chief Judge of the Northern District of Illinois summarized Loevy's trial skills in a written decision reported at Garcia v. Chicago, 2003 WL 22175620 (N.D.Ill. 2003):
Jon Loevy is an outstanding trial lawyer. His ability belies his years of experience, and he certainly should not be held in a lock-step position based on his law school graduation year with regard to his hourly rate. . . Not only did Jon Loevy display tremendous advocacy skills during the trial before the jury, he handled all the matters involved in this litigation with great aplomb. His case was well-organized. The evidentiary progression was easy to follow. His examinations of adverse witnesses [1], and his dealing with the sometimes improper tactics of his opposing counsel, were highly professional.
Jon Loevy's poise, analysis, and demeanor in front of the jury, as well as his rapier-like cross-examination style, are reminiscent of the trial skills displayed by some of the nationally recognized trial lawyers in this community when they were the age that Jon Loevy is now. [1] Among those nationally recognized trial lawyers whose trial skills the court is familiar with when they were Jon Loevy's age are: Royal B. Martin of Martin, Brown and Sullivan; Michael D. Monico of Monico, Spevack and Pavich; Thomas R. Mulroy of McGuire Woods; Anton J. Valukas of Jenner & Block; and Dan K. Webb of Winston & Strawn. Additionally, Jon Loevy's overall performance ranks among the finest displays of courtroom work by a plaintiff's lead trial counsel that this court has presided over in several years.
For more on Jon Loevy's trial practice, click here.
In addition to the $100 million in jury verdicts, Loevy has also obtained tens of millions more for his clients in settlements.
Loevy graduated from Columbia Law School in 1993, where he served as a Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review. At Columbia, he was a Kent Scholar (approximately top 1% of the academic class), as well the recipient of the Young B. Smith Prize given to the student with the top examination in torts, and the Paul R. Hayes Prize given to the student with the top exam in civil procedure.
Upon graduating, Loevy clerked for Judge Milton I. Shadur of the Northern District of Illinois for a year, after which he took a year off and travelled around the world. Upon returning home, he joined the firm then-known as Sidley & Austin, where he spent a year and a half before leaving to start his own firm, first as a solo practitioner, and then in partnership with his wife, Danielle Loevy.
The firm he formed, Loevy & Loevy, has since grown to 14 lawyers, and is now one of the largest firms devoted to civil rights in Chicago, if not the entire country.
Loevy is also a lecturer at law at the University of Chicago, where he co-teaches a clinic on wrongful conviction litigation with other members of his firm. Loevy also teaches Trial Advocacy to clinic students at the University of Chicago.
Loevy was previously named one of the Law Bulletin's prestigious "40 under 40" attorneys to watch in Chicago, as well as one of Chicago Lawyer's "Next Generation Rising Stars of the Trial Bar." Loevy was also invited to speak at the National Lawyers' Guild's (NLG) National Police Accountability Project Conference in Austin, Texas in the Fall of 2006 on the topic of "How to Win Big Jury Awards in Police Abuse Cases." He presented on that topic to more than 50 police abuse lawyers from around the United States. In 2007, Loevy was asked to be the moderator for the NLG's National Police Accountability Project conference in Washington D.C.
Loevy lives in Chicago with his wife, Danielle, and three sons, Carter, Ethan and Oliver.
Located in the West Loop just west of downtown, our Chicago-based law firm represents clients throughout the nation, including the Chicagoland metropolitan area, including Cicero, Harvey, Kankakee, Joliet, Chicago Heights, Dolton, Markham, Aurora, Rockford, Waukegan, Champaign-Urbana, Elgin, Cook County, Will County, Lake County, DuPage County, and Kane County.

(emphasis my own)

Police Officers in Chicago do not come to the Law from Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Northwestern. They come from Gresham, Jefferson Park, Ukrainian Village, Mount Greenwood, Hegewisch, Englewood and other working class neighborhoods. They used to come from families of police officers, as Jon Loevy followed Dad in the practice of Law. They are working men. It seems to me that the Loevy family has no problem targeting working men and doing whatever it takes to make money and they are very good at it.

Here's but a very few.

At Loevy & Loevy, we are trial lawyers who seek justice for those whose civil rights have been violated and for whistleblowers. Based in Chicago, we are one of the nation's largest and most successful civil rights law firms and we handle cases around the nation. We go to trial often and our record speaks for itself: $21 million for a wrongfully convicted man, $16 million for another, victory in a class action of more than 100,000 people, $28 million for the victim of a police beating, and many more. We've won dozens of jury trials and more than $150 million for our clients.

ROY, Mich., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- A class action lawsuit alleging that the Detroit Police Department (DPD) systematically abused and mistreated arrestees was filed on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in the United States Federal Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. A copy of the complaint is available at www.fhwnlaw.com.
The suit, Jonathan Brown, et al v. City of Detroit, was filed by the Chicago law firm of Loevy & Loevy and the Troy, Michigan law firm of Frank, Haron, Weiner & Navarro. The suit alleges that thousands of individuals were arrested and denied basic constitutional rights by the DPD from May 27, 2007 through the present date. A similar class action lawsuit against the Chicago Police Department recently settled for $16.5 million.
Specifically, the complaint alleges that the DPD engaged in a repeated pattern of detaining individuals for long periods of time – often in excess of 48 hours – without allowing them access to a judge. These individuals were denied food, water, and sleep during their detentions. The complaint charges that these inhumane conditions were often used to obtain false confessions from suspects, while genuine perpetrators were left free to continue committing crimes.
The suit has three classes of plaintiffs. Class one is comprised of thousands of people who were detained by the DPD overnight or for more than 16 hours in a 24-hour period and who were deprived of basic human needs for rest and hygiene. Plaintiffs in the second class were arrested by the DPD and detained in excess of 48 hours without a judicial determination of probable cause. The third group of plaintiffs consists of individuals detained by the DPD in excess of 24 hours without being provided at least two meals.

CROWN POINT | Lake County Jail officials and plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit alleging medical and other mistreatment in the jail failed for the second time Wednesday to reach a settlement in the two-year-old case.
Loevy & Loevy, the Chicago law firm representing the plaintiffs, is seeking the court's approval of a class action lawsuit in which the complaints mirror many of the findings by the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.
The government's report, released in December, disclosed conditions the DOJ found to be in violation of inmates' constitutional rights. Jail officials released their response to the findings in May along with a plan to meet the concerns.
The federal lawsuit was filed in May 2008, prior to the DOJ investigation, which was launched in September. Since the lawsuit was filed, Loevy & Loevy attorneys have said the number of jail detainees with similar complaints has grown to more than 100 from the original seven.
The nearly daylong settlement conference Wednesday, the second since February, failed to resolve the lawsuit.
As is typical, the settlement conference was not held in public.

Andy Thayer and Why Chicago's Media Refuses to Connect the Dots: Gays Disrupt Catholic Mass and that is Okay - even Heart Warming

Gay Activists who disrupt a Sunday Mass make a heart-warming story for the Chicago Tribune. Only last week, Chicago Tribune Religion ( 'Spiritual but not all that Rules Stuff') Columnist Manya Brachear smeared the Catholic Campaign "Catholics Come Home." Ms. Brachear took an opportunity to portray the Catholic Faith as an oppressive mind set - divorce is not taken lightly in the Church and, for Manya, well, that's just mean.

Manya Brachear would probably not find this incident and point of view particularly mean:

. . . 100 men and women who had gathered outside the cathedral Sunday morning to protest the Catholic Church's opposition to gay marriage and other stances that they see as unjust to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
The protesters waved rainbow flags and shouted slogans like, "Hey, hey, ho, ho, homophobia has got to go!" and, "Holy Name, holy shame!"

It wasn't the first time gay-rights activists have protested on Valentine's Day as a chance to champion equal rights and target the Catholic Church.

Last year, the Gay Liberation Network helped organize a march from the city building in which marriage licenses are issued to Holy Name to show support for gay marriage, said Andy Thayer, the group's co-founder.

"We want to drag the church's bigotry out of the closet," said Thayer*, 49.
Now, that is a non-sequitur for the ages Andy! If the famous bigotry is so evident it must therefore be out of the closet - Everyone knows, Fabulous! Then, how is your protest making the Evident Bigotry public?

Black Churches tend to be pretty up-front about Homosexuals and Homosexuals are not welcome it seems to me. A real head scratcher that one. Andy are Gays/Lesbian/Bisexuals and Transsexuals AFRO-phobic? Hmmmm?

Andy Thayer - please, take your crusade to some Chicago's firebrand African American* Churches and avoid the sting of the charge of Racism in the GLBT Community. Why exclude Black Churches from your civil disobedience?

The Chicago Tribune will never ask those questions - cowards parse and obfuscate.

Here's why. Black Churches are off limits to Progressives. So are Muslims. So are Jews. Catholics are open to hostility in the Emersonian/Thorouean/Progressive Movement. "Hey, hey! Ho, Ho, Homo Bigots Gotta Go!"

Yesterday, Andy Thayer, who works for Lawsuit Lotto Lawyer Jon Loevy - who makes millions of dollars by suing the Chicago Police whenever an arrest ne'er-do-well drops an eye-lash, led a screamingly shrill group of Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/and Transsexual ( GLBT)Activists to the steps of Holy Name Cathedral, It was St. Valentine's Day and what better way to tell the same-gender bedmate in one's life that your impulses are activism than howling at Catholics.

Gays are not allowed to marry in the Catholic Church.

Capitalists are not welcome in the Communist Party of America.

However, Andy Thayer is not only a GLBT Activist, but a stout anti-Police Brutality Activist and a shrill Anti-War Activist. Andy Thayer is there.

The Chicago Tribune makes the planned and co-ordinated assault on American Catholics' Freedom to Worship seem like a spontaneous grassroots event. No Dots are ever connected when a story is meant to present Progressive Agenda tale.

Simple blokes like myself read the newspapers and watch the news and we seem to recognize the network of involvement by Chicago's very few Andy Thayers. Google an Andy Thayer and then count up his press coverage. Errol Flynn on a bender never got such coverage. One must ask . . . oh, one must, because Andy Thayer does not conduct zesty and loud protests at Black Churches on West and South Sides -opting for the Gold Coast insularity and PC protection at Holy Name Cathedral, Could it be that Andy Thayer is coward and hypocrite as well as a celebrated activists of all agendas?

Gotta ask, because Meg Twohmey of Chicago Tribune sure as Hell did not .

Black Churches and their worshippers are militant and devout. Knowing many Black Ministers and their congregants the way I do, I believe that Andy Thayer's organized hypocrisy and closet bigotry ( seems like Andy the GLBT Activists hate Black People) are taking the coward's way out in avoiding 'equal opportunity' protests. Perhaps not.

Andy Thayer goes big target Catholic Church, because Catholics rarely ever push back.
When we do the parsing and obfuscation begins -"Well, How Can Deny Two Lovers the Right to Marry?"

Well, Jasper, hetero sexual ( breeders) who do not seem suited can also be denied the Sacrament of Marriage. They might need to marry outside of the Church while their passions dampen on the way civil disunion - divorce. My editor over at Chicago Daily Observer reminded me of great quote from a Cdobs article that ran last year.

Several Months ago, a Catholic monk wrote a fine piece in the Chicago Daily Observer.
In reaction the New York Times - the Progressive Anti-Catholic Flagship - that could not avoid giving some Trappist Monks a slap in what should have been a 'feel good' story. Brother Stephen wrote

In the progressive intellectual frame, there are only three kinds of Catholics: Unaccountable powerful men (who are quite probably libidinous, and nefarious), ignorant and oppressed masses (preferably with colorful customs and heart-warming aspirations for self betterment), and unexpectedly intelligent and altruistic people who are credits to the race (or to the religion, as it might be). The best we could hope for was a credit to our race story, which is largely what we got.

The Chicago print and electronic media is dominated by a Progressive mind-set that wants to obliterate the fact that Chicago remains a Catholic City Culture. Pounding out Catholic pimp-slap stories like Manya Brachear's or presenting GBBT assaults on worshippers as merely the extension of Emersonian Americanism is means by which Progressive Agenda Victim addicted Editorial Boards reach out to less insightful brothers and sisters.

In response to the smears by Andy Thayer's loudmouths, Archdiocese of Chicago Spokesperson Colleen Dolan gave a rock solid answer to the assault squad of GLBN and Andy Thayer that will have Bruce Dold and his pious band of Progressive Star Chamber Editors rolling their piggy little eyes, "They may not like it, but it's the teaching of the church that marriage is between one man and one woman," Dolan said. "Those of us in the church don't get to choose what the teachings are." ( Megan Twohey Chicago Tribune)

The Church Militant needs to get so.

A growing number of black pastors are speaking out against gays, with many claiming that the "homosexual agenda" is the No. 1 problem facing black America. 4/28

Face Right
Black Religious Opposition to Gays Rising
By Brentin Mock

Bishop Eddie Long takes to the pulpit wearing a crisp, two-piece suit. Long’s been known to dress down in tight muscle shirts and leather vests when preaching, but for this sermon it's business attire. A flock of young men from his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church near Atlanta surround Long's pulpit.

"We're raising our young boys to be just like the women," he bellows to his congregation, which today numbers more than 25,000 people. "We keep telling men to get in touch with their sensitive self."

Almost 45 minutes into the sermon, captured on a videotape that is for sale in his church's bookstore, Bishop Long grows louder and angrier...........

Rent-A-Cops : The End Game of Illinois Leftists After All

"It gives the community more control over illegal activity,'' Beale said. "Police are there to serve and protect. If we can give them some extra help to serve and protect, that's a win-win for everybody."

Soon, GDs, Mikey Cobras, Four Corner Hustlers, Latin Kings and Vice Lords will face Rent-A-Cop and give up all inclination to 'act the fool!' They will own the streets legally. Systemic Racism and Police Brutality will evaporate. The Community will sing and dance - no longer shall they march! Soul-Patched poet manques will quaff arabica bean brewed by baristas and read Charles Bukowski and Graphic Novels ( Comic Books) without snickering at the tough guys and gals who went from college athletics into the Chicago Police Department.

When all of the Horse-manure created and manufactured by bad people and promoted in Chicago's Media Community is weighed and added up -

1. Systemic Racism Get Out of Jail Free Card

2. Police Brutality 24/7

3. Community Control of Everything - thus no Consequences for Anything Crime or Vice

4. Constant Vilification of Police Officers

5. Bleeding Revenue to Lawsuit Lefty Lawyer League ( G. Flint Taylor, Jon Loevy)

6. Advocacy Politcs

7. Laughingstock Command

the Total Comes to a Privatized Corporate Police Force.

Since Fahey and O'Brien were murdered by the Wilson Brothers, Leftist Academics, Lawyers, Journalists and Americans who swallow anything have orchestrated a complete undermining of any and all confidence in Law Enforcement. When Daley pulled Tisa Morris, an African American attorney, off of responsibility of tracking CR beefs and handed the list of police officers targeted by the Lawsuit Lawyers and created a rubber stamp Board that is comprised of Police Haters, he tipped his hand.

The State Police are the next target from the Lefties like Sun times New Group reporter Angela Caputo, working at the behest of Expungement Attorney Tamara Holder.

“You can have all the legislation in the world, but if you’re going to have an agency like the police that’s going to second guess the court, I don’t know how you’re going to stop it and I don’t know how you’re going to guard against it,” he said. “If you can’t get the king to follow the court, that’s a problem.”

Pop-eyed racist Mary Mitchell will write anything that sets racially sensitive teeth on edge.

CPD Officer Tim Gould: "I ain't no hero. . . . I swear on my dad's grave that I do not think I am a hero," the South Chicago District officer said.

These are the men and women that oily louses like Flint Taylor and Jon Loevy ( just my un-nuanced opinion there, Mr. John Q. Public) work the Media and the courts to vilify as racist monsters.

Advocacy politics and law requires monsters. These fictional Monsters make money for the bottom feeding G. Flint Taylors and Jon Loevys who keep the Media fueled with stories and allegations about systemic police misconduct. They take the Progressive re-write of history as context - you know the one - where Jane Addams did more for poor immigrants than the Daughters of Charity or the Democratic Ward Bosses Jane was there, but heavy lifting was done by nuns and saloon keepers - and create Media Monsters who eat black people and pocket millions of dollars. The Media Divas eat it up. Media Divas are reporters or news readers who believe that they are public persons - celebrities.

Media Divas, like Mark Brown, Frank Main, Andy Shaw, and the howlingly funny and obnoxious old Walter Jacobson hate cops, because cops are infinitely smarter than them and almost to a man and woman, better persons than the Media Diva. The Media Divas get told that they are not really all that smart by homicide, burglary, vice and gang detectives - Ouch. Ouuuuuch!

I watch police officers every day, from 6 Am until sometimes very late at night over near Halsted on 79th Street. I never see Jon Loevy or G. Flint or Mark Brown or Locke Bowman on 79th Street - that is where the gun violence always seem to take place. Aside from the West Side, you can almost always be assured that address of the 'tragic' events reads something like 77%% S. Emerald; 84%% S. Racine: 9%$ W. 79th Street; 83&* S. Sangamon.

Police officers are there, taking the bullets and most of all the abuse from a public poisoned by the press and sickened by the lawsuit addictions of Marxist lawyers.

Officer Timothy Gould is the officer I am most familiar with over in the 6th District and he's sometimes a Woman, like the Romanian Officer with the sandy pony-tail ( she was a knock-out), or more often Black, Irish, Croatian, Italian, Polish, Mexican and even occasionally a Korean male.

They are heroic and professional.

This is what they do,

Gould then heard somebody screaming for help in the back of the building.

"I ran around back and knocked out the back window," Gould said. "I couldn't reach [inside the window] because the window was about eight or nine feet high, so I got a chair. I jumped on the chair, used my flash light and started hollering, 'Where you at?'"

Gould battled the smoke, crawled halfway into the window and finally was able to grab the man's arm.

"I felt his arm and I pulled him and got him to the window," Gould said. "I turned around and said, 'get on my back' and jumped off the chair and got him to the ground."

They are heroes. G. Flint Taylor and Jon Loevy and Locke Bowman are , as far as I can tell, water-bugs at best. The Media loves water-bugs, I guess.

Spencer Thayer - Your You Tube Police Activist! I'm Here to Help, Spence!

As in all things, God works wonders through His people on earth! Nice work to David Heinzmann and Jeremy Gorner, Tribune Reporters for giving all of us - Spencer Thayer*!

http://hickeysite.blogspot.com/2009/02/sun-times-with-don-hayner-great-divide.html
Shucks these are all just simple, uncomplex little old ( who works everyday in a very high crime neighborhood) me's thoughts on today's Video Activist Hero - Spencer Thayer!

Spencer Thayer went You Tube on a Police Officer involved in the proper ( I watched it several times) execution of his duties to serve and protect the Citizens of Chicago.

Spencer wants Chicago to 'Bash Back!' Bash away Chicago!

Activist and Video Journalist SPENCER THAYER!

There is an Andy Thayer who works for Lawsuit Lotto Lawyer Jon Loevy - Andy Thayer is a Gay/Anti-War/Anti-Cop Activists who is as prominent in publicity for social activism issues as the Caveman in Insurance ads. I gotta wonder if Spencer Thayer is any relation to Andy Thayer who works for Jon Loevy who sues the Chicago Police weekly - following a Sun Times story or stories.

That's just the old close-knit ethnic south side of me - shucks, we think everyone is a cousin! Aren't they though?

Well, Spencer Thayer, here is your time in the spot light. I sure hope that I can be of some very small help in this matter!

* when I posted early this morning I had NO idea who the video journalist might be and lo and behold - it is Spencer Thayer! From this AM's post -'I hope that the little 'Can I Have Your Badge Number?' Twerp who decided to be some body with his Indie Film meets Calvin Urine Britches as a bus mate every day for the rest of his snotty life and Calvin's Posse - including the more violent and larcenous. But that's just me. I have a Nuanced sense of humor.'
