John McCain: Only Candidate Leads on School Choice

On the Endangered list - Any Progressive Voices wish to Call People to Action? Naw, there's no Tax-money in it for you!

The Archdiocese of New York and Brooklyn are closing Catholic Schools at an alarming rate. Click my post title for the story -

The greed of the Public School Lobby is only matched by the horrific incompetance intrinsic to that vice.

Public Schools in Chicago are mega million dollar sink holes, but also a handy political platform that allows politicians and activists, who directly benefit from these tax-funded atrocities attended by children and young adults, to rail and howl over homicides and anything but educational failure.

Crane High School was put on national spotlight when it was closed due to the murder of a student there - only to be followed by the death of an 18 year old student at Simeon High School. More money to Public Schools will be the answer to homicides, childhood pregnancies, morbid obesity, and the heart-break of psoriasis.

Public Schools control the tax dollar-thermostat for Chicago, Cook County and Illinois homeowners. There are no grown-ups puting a lock on that control.

School Choice and Competition for Quality of instruction is only way to stop the Public School Lobby from cranking up the furnace in which Illinois tax-dollars are burned up - passing the costs on to you the consumers.

John McCain is for School Choice - No Democratic Candidate is for School Choice.

Click my post title and read about the consequences of the nearly forty years of bondage served by New York Taxpayers to Public School Lobby and the largely Democratic politicians enthralled to its will.

It is time for Leadership on School Choice. It is Time for McCain.

John McCain on School Vouchers and Choice:

Vouchers needed where teachers fail
McCain believes school vouchers should be available to parents in order that they may place their children in the best learning environment for their particular needs. He feels that each and every child in every classroom deserves a teacher who is qualified and enthusiastic about teaching. “Some people just aren’t meant to be teachers, and we should help them find another line of work. Because if teachers can’t teach, our kids can’t learn.”

John McCain: Air America's Mark Green - What Being an A$$hole is All About

Mark Green's Bio:

Mark graduated with honors from both Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences (1967) and then Harvard Law School (1970), where he was editor-in-chief of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review.

Becoming a member of the Washington, D.C. Bar (and later the New York State Bar), he spent 10 years in the 1970s working with Ralph Nader, ultimately running Public Citizen's Congress Watch, the largest consumer lobbying group in D.C. In 1982, The Nation magazine said, "Next to Nader himself, Mark is the leading public interest lawyer of his generation." . . . yada, Yada . . . ( Yada Yaddas my own)

On March 1, 2007, he became the president of Air America Radio.

Next to Ralph Nader?? Most folks want to miles from Ralph Nader. This clown is a creme puffe!

I see his Tanned Own Bad Self on Cable - with way too much frequency. He must have sued more orphans and old ladies in New York than Leona Helmsly and has the cash cow to allow Mark Green ( he's got that 'Papal Me' third person about him that is the hallmark of all truly and highly competitive anal apertures) entree to the circles of jerks within the Democratic National Committee.

In fact Mark Green is an anal aperture of such diameter that he now columnizes on Huffington Post the Cry Sheet for Hollywood Morons and Progressive Goebbels.

Here's the Tan Green's thesis on John McCain:

Now that John McCain last week elaborated his economic and foreign policy views in major addresses, the weakness of his candidacy is clear: it's not that he'll be 72 if inaugurated but has a 72 year-old agenda. If you like gunboat diplomacy and pre-Depression laissez-faire economics, McCain is your bridge to the 19th Century.

While the spotlight currently focuses on clashing Democrats, the mainstream media has lazily bought into the narrative that McCain is a straight-talking maverick, just as so many concurred that W was a compassionate uniter in 2000. But when it comes to war, economics and ethics -- as our 7 Days program discusses -- the Republican nominee is now no straight-talker and no maverick.

This from an Ambulance Chaser! Here's more Yada Yadda . . .

McCain's maniacal repetition of buzz phrases -- "the surge is working! we are winning! surrender is betrayal! -- expose him as a militarist itching for more war-war, not more jaw-jaw, in Churchill's phrase. Yes, he served honorably and heroically in Vietnam and has experience after decades in the Congress. But based on his catastrophic misjudgments in the Middle East and his unwillingness to learn much of anything from America's failures in Vietnam and Iraq, he's flunked the so-called Commander-in-Chief test. By urging more troops and more years, he's out-Bushing Bush. Some maverick.

A Jack and Queen, Mark, that is some Maverick! McCain's maniacal repetition of buzz phrases - expose him as a militarist????

Let's see. 'Fired up, ready to Go! Ready to Go! Yes we Can!' Yes We Can! Warmonger Barry!

Then the Shyster tries to dodge the punch that he himself is tossing:
McCain's Ethics:

But that 20-year-old episode alone should not be enough to tarnish him now. His work since then on McCain-Feingold and against Jack Abramoff deserves praise. But there are other current examples of helping those who help him in give-to-get politics, as when the FCC chair reprimanded him for interfering in a proceeding on behalf of a big donor and patron. Shades of 5 percenters in the Truman years.

'Zounds! Shocking! A Reprimand? Howls of Scorn! Arianna Huffiapoulus put Master Thespian Steven Weber ( Star of what?///) on this! - BTW - Huff Po is a veritable Who's Snooze of Hollywood - kind of talent Petrified Forest Gumps.

Mark's Seven Day campaign against John McCain! Seven more days of this? Oh, How will John McCain stand up to such treatment??? Merciful Marigolds, Margaret!

For more Tan Green giggles - Pipe the U-tube piece of Mark Green begging for votes from savvy New Yorkers during one of his many defeats - click my post title for a full view of this Yutz! Next to Nader? Why Mark Green - You Stand Alone!! Que Queso, Hombre!

John McCain: That's the Ticket -Jack and Charlie, or Jack and Bob?

Picking a VP for the winning ticket in 2008 will be troublingly nice work for John McCain over the next few months.

With several solid choices in his quiver, Senator McCain will choose an able and loyal # 2 Executive to help him lead America during this time of War on Islamist Terror. Solid legislative leaders and thoughtful statesmen who have worked with the honor and integrity of John McCain are coming into the mix.

I like Charlie Crist, Governor of Florida, who was off the dime in John McCain's Camp long before the snarlers of the extreme Right could ever be brought to service. I value loyalty and commitment and Charlie Crist has the Facta where others shout out the Verba.

Chicago Sun Times veteran correspondent and one of the best political journalists in America, Bob Novak, like Bob Portman of Ohio.

Click my post title for Bob Novak's prescience and declarative sentences. The world needs more writers like Novak who delivers crisp and clear information in simple declarative sentences. The DNC enjoys the purple prose of goofs who do a Thomas V. Pynchon routine with every post.

Here's some good prose from Novak:

While Sen. John McCain will not decide on a vice president for many months, Rob Portman gets the highest marks inside the Republican presidential candidate's organization.

Portman's background is legislative, serving in the House Republican leadership as a representative from Ohio; executive and economic, serving in George W. Bush's Cabinet as director of the Office of Management and Budget, and diplomatic, serving as U.S. trade representative. He comes from Ohio, a swing state, is young enough at 52 to contrast McCain, and conservative enough, earning an 89 percent lifetime American Conservative Union rating.

Jeremiah Wright -Well Past Time to Get Right with Italian- Americans, But Never Too Late!

Had Barack Obama's Pastor been introduced to the warmth, style, grace, devotion, patriotism, charity and musical genius of Italian Americans, he might not have uttered the ugly, bitter, hateful slurs against these great Americans.

Click my post title and pass this along to Rev. Jeremiah Wright - it is never too late.

Obama's Pastor Slurs Italians in Latest Magazine
By Penny Starr
CNSNews.com Senior Staff Writer
March 26, 2008

(CNSNews.com) - Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., pastor emeritus of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago where Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has been a member for two decades, slurred Italians in a piece published in the most recent issue of Trumpet Newsmagazine.

"(Jesus') enemies had their opinion about Him," Wright wrote in a eulogy of the late scholar Asa Hilliard in the November/December 2007 issue. "The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans."

Wright continued, "From the circumstances surrounding Jesus' birth (in a barn in a township that was under the Apartheid Roman government that said his daddy had to be in), up to and including the circumstances surrounding Jesus' death on a cross, a Roman cross, public lynching Italian style. ...

"He refused to be defined by others and Dr. Asa Hilliard also refused to be defined by others. The government runs everything from the White House to the schoolhouse, from the Capitol to the Klan, white supremacy is clearly in charge, but Asa, like Jesus, refused to be defined by an oppressive government because Asa got his identity from an Omnipotent God."

Every issue of the magazine published last year included Wright's column, "The Message," in which he covered a range of subjects, including his views on other African-American churches as expressed in his April 2007 commentary "Facing the Rising Sun."

"In a world that is controlled by white supremacy, in a country that is on its way to hell in a hand basket because of lying politicians, in a culture that still thinks 'white is right' and with young people who do not have a clue as to our story, our history, our legacy or our destiny, we still have African-American Christians who are more concerned about 'bling bling' than about freeing our minds," Wright wrote.

In a nationally broadcast speech on March 18, Obama distanced himself from Wright by saying he "condemned, in unequivocal terms, the statements of Reverend Wright that have caused such controversy." But Obama also said, "I could no more disown him than I could disown the black community."

According to his federal income tax return for 2006, Obama gave the Trinity United church that year $22,500 in contributions.

The Clinton campaign has not commented on the controversy, but in an interview Tuesday with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) said actions speak louder than words.

"He would not have been my pastor," Clinton said. "You don't choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend.

"You know, I spoke out against Don Imus (a radio talk show host who was fired for making racially insensitive remarks about black female basketball players at Rutgers University), saying that hate speech was unacceptable in any setting, and I believe that," Clinton said.

"I just think you have to speak out against that. You certainly have to do that, if not explicitly, then implicitly by getting up and moving," she added.

Trumpet Newsmagazine started publication in the 1980s in Chicago and distribution expanded in March 2006 to several other cities, with broader circulation through subscriptions. On the magazine's masthead, Wright is named as the magazine's CEO and Wright's daughter, Jeri Wright, is the publisher.

Requests for comments from Jeri Wright, the magazine's marketing staff, and the Obama campaign were not answered by press time.

The last Trumpet to be published was the November/December edition, a double issue that featured a remembrance of "Pan-Africanist" Hilliard and a profile of Louis Farrakhan, who was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement "Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter" award at the magazine's 25th anniversary gala late last year.

Farrakhan has called Judaism a "gutter religion" and said Jews are "bloodsuckers," as reported in The New York Times.

Trumpet Newsmagazine also included myriad articles and regular features geared toward the black community, ranging from health, parenting, music and the arts, to profiles of successful members of the community and tips on everything from dating to spiritual well-being.

Many political observers have said that Obama's speech last week limited the damage of the ongoing Wright controversy, but others say the issue is continuing to hamper his campaign.

"I don't think it's going to go away," Ralph Reed, a long-time conservative activist and political strategist who now runs Century Strategies based in Duluth, Ga., told Cybercast News Service.

"Because while Obama's speech was thoughtful and eloquent, it didn't address the central issue, and that's why he would have someone as such a close spiritual advisor with such extreme views," Reed added.

"Let me be clear," Reed added. "I don't think any candidate should have to answer for the theological views of their pastor, church or denomination. But (Wright's) were not theological views, but political statements."

"I think it's more likely to be a serious issue in the general election, more than in the primaries," Reed said.

Code Stupid Part VIII - Donte Smith One of the Catholic Schoolgirls for Peace

Click My post title for a profile on Donte Smith one the Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War who sprayed blood on worshippers at Holy Name Cathedral this past Easter Sunday.

He is part of the Solidarity network used by ISM's Kevin Clark.

http://dc.indymedia.org/newswire/display/135986/index.php

The actions of the Catholic School Girls Against the War was a test.

The network of radical leftists that planned and staged this act of domestic terrorism and desecrated the Sacrament of the Eucharist with a Hate Crime is gearing up for a more horrific 'action.'

Kevin Clark of International Solidarity Movement has already created martyrs in Gaza and is complicit in the deaths of people in the Middle East.

The Office of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, Cook County States Attorney, Illinois Attorney General, Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weiss, Illinois Secretary of State, and every Legal professional in the employ of the Archdiocese of Chicago must put full scrutiny on this network beginning with Kevin Clark and ISM, but also,
IndyMedia
Hamer Hard Media Works
Illinois Peace Justice Coalition

for starters.

Code Stupid Part-VII - Easter Attack Was Only a Test

Here is a salient point concerning future acts of terror by the Network that the Chicago Tribune's Stacey St. Clair told me in a phone conversation 'that we have no interest at this time in pursuing' -

The Chicago Police Department is getting tired. And the people of Chicago are taking notice of the growing effectiveness of anti-war actions. This effectiveness is contributing to citywide movements to pass legislation in the city that states the city will oppose a preemptive attack on Iran. It is fueling desires for more leaders to be outspoken on the war in Iraq.

The Network that planned and executed the terror attack on worshippers at Holy Name Cathedral this past Easter Sunday continues its war on America.

International Solidarity Movement - Kevin Clark ISM's Chicago Director is head of the effort - it seems. Kevin Clark was intrumental in getting people killed in Gaza in 2003.

Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War Disrupt Easter Mass

By Kevin Gosztola

At this moment, updates on the action are coming in regularly. The latest is that, according to one of the defendant's lawyers, at least one of the activists is being spat upon by the guards. Guards are also encouraging other inmates to "mess with" and abuse the defendant. As soon as enough funds can be raised, the activist being spat on will be the next activist bailed out of jail.

Those conducting jail solidarity for the activists are asking that people from the Chicagoland area willing to help bail the activists out of jail monetarily contact Tim Salemme at (773) 759 - 8399 to arrange a donation or email holyname6@riseup.net.

Now for those unaware of what started all of this or how several members of the antiwar movement in Chicago became involved in a battle to bail activists out of jail so they are not abused or "messed with", the story is as follows.

Six members of the anti-war group "Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War" staged a dramatic die-in on Sunday during the 11 AM Easter mass at Holy Name Cathedral. The group, in addition to calling for an immediate end to the illegal and immoral war in Iraq, decried Cardinal George's January 7th meeting with Chicago's Mayor Daley and President Bush.

Holy Name Cathedral is Chicago's largest parish and one where Chicago's most prominent Catholic citizens attend. The protesters knew these people would be in attendance and knew that press, which usually extensively cover the services, would be present when the "die-in" was conducted.

Easter services at Holy Name are traditionally one of the most heavily attended masses of the year, and this mass was no exception, with people packed wall to wall for today’s Easter morning holiday service.
The group of young activists, dressed in their Easter best, sat through the 11AM mass until George reached the homily. A few seconds into the cardinal’s main holiday message, the protesters rose from their seats, turned to address the thousands of parishioners in the auditorium, and talked about the continuing death of both Iraqis and Americans in Iraq as the war enters its sixth year.

The protesters then laid down in the aisles and discharged packets of fake blood that covered them in red. Stunned ushers rushed in after a moment or two to try to remove the protesters, and also brought in some Chicago police officers who were stationed in the lobby to help with traffic control for the overflow crowd. The protesters did NOT resist arrest, agreeing to stand up and walk out of the auditorium, where they were subsequently arrested by cops outside.
During a ten minute wait for the police to show up, the activists conducted a series of media interviews with local television outlets. When the police arrived, the cuffed protesters were loaded and taken to an area police station.

On Monday, the activists attended a hearing. The details, which happen to be posted in the comments section of this article, show just how hard the system is working to make an example of these activists.

(The) hearing was in regards to charges of felony defacement of property
at a place of worship in excess of $300; that makes the charge a Class III
felony. The fake blood allegedly used in the action stained the
auditorium's carpet and 14 chairs, incurring a $400 cleaning bill.
According to the prosecuting attorney, the cleaning failed and the carpet
will need to be replaced at a cost of $3000. Special conditions have been
set for all the arrestees which prevent them from having any contact with
Cardinal George, Holy Name Cathedral, or the area of 735 N. State Street.

The bond for Ephran, Regan, Mercedes, Ryane, and Angela is set at $25,000
each. Donte's bond is set at $35,000. In order to be bailed out, each
arrestee needs to post 10% of their bond. All told, we need to raise
$16,000.

All arrestees are scheduled to appear in court at Branch 42 on March 31st.

The six activists were put back in jail and people began mobilizing to get these young patriots out of jail. After all, as many will attest to, it was a nonviolent direct action. Being disruptive was the point and making a point, which they did, was also the plan. That this action was effective and that it has produced this editorial from Kathy Kelly (which can be found in the comments section) is a testament of how great of an action it was.

Dear Editors,

The six activists who raised their voices, during Cardinal George's Easter homily in Holy Name Cathedral, recalled suffering and carnage caused by the war in Iraq. They screamed. They poured "stage blood." They fell to the floor.

Under U.S. occupation, and as a result of U.S. economic sanctions and military war waged since 1991, Iraqis have seen horrific bombings outside and within their worship places, along with the physical and social destruction of their country. Iraqis have endured mass killing, kidnappings, torture, incarcerations without cause, and an almost complete breakdown of vital infrastructure services including electricity, sewage treatment, and health care delivery.

Take Action Now --- Call Cardinal George and demand charges are dropped: 312-751-8230 and submit letters of support to the local newspaper, Chicago Tribune

In the U.S. and in Iraq, arms ache for loved ones who will never return. Yet many of us may feel numb, even forgetful, regarding the terrible cost of this war. The Easter Sunday action at the cathedral gave us an opportunity to remember that we are a nation at war and to consider ways to follow Jesus' teachings, --to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, heal the sick, love our enemies and bless the peacemakers.

Many thanks to the courageous folks who participated in the action at the Cathedral on Easter calling the church to take a real stand against the war, not just give it lip service.

This was an action that was a gift to the peace movement. It was something to help it reenergize and reform the events the movement plans. (Some peace groups are still planning events as follow-ups to the recruitment center actions in Berkeley which occurred at the end of January and in the beginning of February. They were desperate for something new to happen that they could respond to.)

This action called into question Cardinal George (who still sees George W. Bush as a person worth holding meetings with even though he has shown no sign of being willing to repent for his sins involving the people of Iraq and the people of America) and the Catholic establishment of Chicago.

Cardinal George is cited as saying (this too can be found in the comments section) after the protesters were dragged out of the church by security:

"And so should we all, call for peace. Peace, is of course, the salutation that the risen Lord brings to those whom he has called to witness to Him. Peace, I give you, because they were afraid, and therefore they need to be gifted peace."

"They were afraid, first of all, of Him, because they didn't recognize him at first. But, they were afraid also, as we all are, of our sinfulness and of the enormous difficulties that are incumbent upon working for peace in the world in different ways in which people see the need to work for peace."

"In that witness, I think we can be grateful to those who interrupted this holiday."

Watch the video at
http://chicago.indymedia.org/media/all/display/29168/index.php

And so, it would appear that the peace movement got Cardinal George to rhetorically show he supports these activists in some way. In fact, he has taken an odd stance against the Catholic activists saying something like he does not support them because they disrupted worship but had they not disrupted worship, he would be on their side 100%.

In the context of the fifth anniversary, this is a stunning and unexpected action that took place.

Chicago's peace activists were out in full force in March 19th's permitted march held at night through the city after a rally in downtown Chicago. The peace movement did not quit after the permitted march was over and police were led willy nilly around the city as primarily young activists marched down the sidewalk back towards downtown from the spot where the permitted march ended. The event ended at the ABC7 Chicago news station where activists disrupted business as usual for the ABC News team by making the point that they were partly responsible for the continuation of this Iraq war.

The following day, March 20th, a slew of creative actions occurred. From Chicago Indymedia, this gives you an idea of what the Chicago Police Department had to deal with before arresting the Holy Name 6:

The first action of the day came early in a typically briskly cold Chicago morning during rush hour, as five people hurled a banner that read, “We Heard You Malachi,” at the Millennium Flame near the Kennedy Expressway. The banner was referencing the peace martyr Malachi Ritscher, who killed himself in a public suicide meant to express opposition to U.S. war policies in Iraq. Traffic police reportedly intervened to put a stop to the action in which no arrests were made.

About ninety minutes later, four people locked themselves arm-to-arm in front of local Congressman Rahm Emanuel’s (D-IL) office on Irving Park Road in opposition to his stance on Iraq. The Chicago-based groups the Christian Peacemaker Teams and Voices for Creative Nonviolence were reported as being behind the action whose participants were apparently all arrested. Around the same time, the northbound lines Lake Shore Drive were blockaded by a group with an unknown affiliation of about a dozen people, which according to corporate news accounts, reportedly resulted in a traffic accident.

By around 1:30pm in the afternoon, eight people at Federal Plaza stepped into the lobby of Federal Plaza requesting the presence of State Senators. Seven people kneeled down until they were arrested, including the likes of Voices in the Wilderness activist Kathy Kelly, one of the speakers and organizers of the permitted march on Wednesday. Kelly is a veteran activist who previously traveled to Iraq as one of the “human shields” and has been arrested within the U.S. on many prior occasions for past anti-war activism; as a result, Kelly may face jail time because of this latest arrest.

Other non-violent actions and small demonstrations, including a protest against Raytheon at the University of Illinois at Chicago and another one waged by Columbia College students against a recruiting station, were also held throughout the day.

Thursday’s actions in Chicago were part of a larger week of civil disobedience waged all across the country. One of the first acts of civil disobedience was undertaken against Chevron and Iraq war policies by the U.S. last Saturday, where up to fifty protesters locked themselves together in front of an Chevron-owned oil refinery in Redmond, California. In downtown Washington D.C. on Wednesday, up to thirty people were arrested that blockaded an Internal Revenue Service building. Over two-dozen people were arrested in San Francisco on Wednesday as well, in the midst of a die-in that completely blocked Market street in the downtown area. Five protesters who staged a sit-in at a Federal building in Wooster, Massachusetts were also taken into custody by local police authorities and arrested on Wednesday.

Take Action Now --- Call Cardinal George and demand charges are dropped: 312-751-8230 and submit letters of support to the local newspaper, Chicago Tribune

With the 4,000th casualty, another church in the Chicago area held the second protest in two days (although this one was supported by the church leadership). On a wall at St. James Episcopal Church in Chicago, 4,000 black squares, each inscribed with the name of a fallen soldier, were hung as a reminder of those Americans who have been lost in this war.

Says Michael McConnell of the American Friends Service Committee:

"I think we're at the place where the war is becoming very frustrating to many in our society and that we're going to see escalating actions of non-violence because this war has gone on for too long."
The people are tired of waiting for the media and the politicians to take the necessary steps to preserve what's left of this democracy and begin repairing it so future generations of Americans can have a future. They see how we have let a recidivist war criminal run this nation and its principles into the ground and see how the media has been complicit by refusing to cover real news, which is news that is necessary for Americans to preserve their freedom and democracy.

And the people aren't waiting for November to possibly see this war ended maybe by a candidate that gave an antiwar speech in 2002. They are interrupting Easter masses and shutting down businesses that are supporting operations in Iraq because they know that the only way to end this war is to make business and life as usual impossible---so impossible that our leaders respond by immediately withdrawing troops from Iraq, issuing reparations to Iraqis, and giving our veterans all the benefits they were promised before being deployed.

Dean, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, calls John McCain an opportunist for using images of his military service:

What a Mah-roon! What a Dope! What a Leader! Dean the Scream!

Get this! The DNC with Daffy Duck Dean at the Helm- Yes, Alice, The Ship of Fools - has issued this statement

“While we honor McCain's military service, the fact is Americans want a real leader who offers real solutions, not a blatant opportunist who doesn't understand the economy and is promising to keep our troops in Iraq for 100 years." … Dean is so worried by the contrast of the Republican nominee to be, looking very presidential, while the Democratic presidential wannabees are engaging in nothing senseless negativity, he told CBS News that the superdelegates need to decide whether Hillary or Obama gets the Democratic nomination before July. Dean wants to avoid the appearance that the Democratic nominee was chosen in a back room deal by party insiders even though that is exactly what they will do. And Dean has the nerve to call McCain an "opportunist."

You are a Howl Deano! Almost better than Warner Brothers cartoons - almost! Make sure that boys and girls keep you loaded on Zoloft and that the cinches to the old white burlap jacket are good and snug!

Code Stupid, Part VI: Snow Runs Off The Committed Mopes from Last Night's Action at Cardinal's Residence

My Godson, Bart, questioned the choice of 'domestic terrorist' in describing the violent assault on worshippers this past Sunday at the Easter Mass of Holy Name Cathedral by The Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War. Bart is a wonderful and thoughtful young man. Yep, domestic terrorist works here. Any act of violence perpetrated upon persons with no direct involvment in policy, strategy, or tactical involvement in any conflict is an act of terror. Bart thought that I have been watching too much Fox Cable News - Bill-O, Hannity, and that crew - the guys that Hate McCain. Not so, young nephew. I watch only local news NBC Channel 5, because the only news person with any brains or integrity is Mary Ann Ahern. But for comic relief, I tune in to the clown opera at MSNBC - The Tool Shed. MSNBC has more Tools on hand than the Sears Hardware Outlet on 111th Street.

Yesterday, the network sent out a press release calling for an 'Action' at Cardinal George's residence.

Didn't happen - the snow covered the commitment. 'These are Times that Try Men's Souls' and snow and Chicago wind off of LaSalle Drive and State parkway is tough on the timid.

Here is a report on the activities of the radical network that sparked the Easter Guerrilla Theatre:

First, we should examine the base element of the Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War and their supporters.

Catholic School Girls Against the War
The website for the Illinois Coalition for Peace and Justice (which evidently hosts the group’s Internet presence) describes the group as:

“...a humorous, political street theatre group composed of college students and young adults.”

It is obvious to even the most intellectually challenged that the designation “street theatre group” is an attempt to inoculate their actions; an attempt to re-define any of their civil disobedience – criminal acts – as “theatre.”

As far as the “humorous” description goes, I suppose humor is in the eye of the beholder, although I don’t believe that any of the young children in attendance at Holy Name Cathedral, children who were frightened by the actions of this group – in their place of worship, a place that is meant to provide sanctuary, found the splattering of fake blood and shrieks of agenda-driven insolence “humorous.”

Illinois Coalition for Peace & Justice
In their Structure & Statement of Values, the Illinois Coalition for Peace & Justice, which is linked to the Progressive Democrats of America website, claims their organization:

“...models a just and peaceful society...[resolving] to use our work in the Illinois Coalition for Peace and Justice as a model of equal and supportive relationships in a peaceful and just society...”

The ICPJ is by definition an anti-war protest organization. Where they claim to act as a coordinating organization, they facilitate the activities of a number of activist groups, including the American Muslim Council, the Campus Anti-War Network and Code Pink, to name just three.

Interestingly, their Structure & Statement of Values declaration says they:

“...work in common for: alternatives to militarism, global community, lives of active nonviolence, human rights for all, preservation of the environment...”

By disrupting a religious service and, in the process, creating fear among children and angst among adults, it is hard to see how the ICPJ – through its member organization, the Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War – promoted any of these tenets and/or values, especially “global community,” “nonviolence” or “human rights.”

International Solidarity Movement
The organization that sent a representative to act as a “witness” for the protesters, the International Solidarity Movement, is an anti-war organization but only where the United States and the West are concerned. In fact, it can be argued that they are vehemently anti-Western and anti-American.

The International Solidarity Movement is, according to Discover the Networks,

“...a radical, anti-Israel organization that recruits Westerners to travel to Israel to obstruct Israeli security operations...[they justify] Palestinian terrorism against Israeli civilians...”

Though the organization claims to adhere to a commitment to non-violence, its members openly call for the "liberation of Palestinians by any means necessary...[including] legitimate armed struggle."

One of the groups officials, Hisham Jam Joun, a veteran of the Marxist-Leninist terror group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, led pro-Palestinian protests against the Israeli security barrier.

In 2003, two British nationals executed a suicide bombing in an Israeli bar that killed three people and wounded more than 50. In the course of their investigation into the bombing Israeli officials discovered that the bombers had met with International Solidarity Movement leaders just prior to carrying out the attack. This prompted the Israeli government to formally accuse the organization of maintaining ties to Palestinian terror entities. Said one IDF officer:

“...as far as we are concerned, ISM is not an international organization or a peace organization. It's a pro-Palestinian organization, set up by Palestinians, funded by Palestinians and linked to Palestinian terror."

In addition, the group continues to advocate for the release of Marwan Barghouti, a leader in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. Barghouti was convicted of committing acts of terrorism and with the murders of 26 people through the facilitation of several suicide bombing events that took place in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

To put it mildly, there is nothing peaceful about the International Solidarity Movement or their actions. The causes for which they advocate are about as far away from “humorous, political street theatre” as one can get.

The Question of Constitutional Rights
The violent, intolerant, hypocritical and narcissistic nature of these groups exposed, the facet of this story that is truly shocking is this: These intellectually stunted malcontents attempted to deny the people attending Catholic Mass at Holy Name Cathedral their constitutionally guaranteed right to practice their religion, yet charges to this affect are not being explored. Instead they are being charged with felony criminal damage to property and misdemeanor simple battery.

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution specifically states:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

This guarantee of non-intervention by government with regard to religion, speech and assembly has been interpreted over the years to provide for the sanctity of religious practice, the protection of free speech and the inviolability of peaceable assembly.

By interrupting a religious service on its most holy of days (the resurrection of Christ, signified by the celebration of Easter, is the most glorified event in the Catholic faith, not Christmas, which signifies the birth of Christ) the Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War denied the parishioners their constitutional right to freely practice religion, they denied Cardinal Francis George his constitutional right to freedom of speech and religious practice and both their right to peaceably assemble.

That federal authorities are not exploring the possibility of charging, not only the six malcontents from Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War but the leaders of both the Illinois Coalition for Peace & Justice and the International Solidarity Movement, with violating the constitutional rights of the Cardinal and the parishioners of Holy Name Cathedral is a testimony to how little value we place on our constitutional rights, how delinquent we are in understanding the ideology behind our constitutional rights and our apathy in defending them when they are attacked.

Ingenuous protest is one thing and it is perfectly acceptable, but anarchist indignance goes beyond anything that can be deemed acceptable. Charge them, prosecute them and make an example out of them.

A young woman in New York, by the name of Katie O'Malley, offers this insight:

Once content to thump drums and dig deep for chants that rhyme, the “peace” movement’s foothold on the public soapbox has slipped. The peaceniks -- ANSWER, MoveOn.org, Code Pink and the rest -- are in the midst of very public identity crisis. They are facing, for the first time, visible and vocal opposition to both their words and their methods. And it has made them angry….very angry….angry enough to (pause for dramatic effect) use violence as an option!

As organizations have come together to face them in the streets (and have successfully released the left’s stranglehold on activism and the media) the lefties have revealed their inner violent streak to which they have always proclaimed an immunity.

We have certainly seen incidents of violence within the misnamed “peace” movement since its inception decades ago. These lovers of dialogue and group hugs have bombed buildings (just ask Obama’s “acquaintance” William Ayers of the Weather Underground), stormed institutions and screamed vile and evil comments to Vietnam Veterans, since they first began their activism. In Ayers memoir, “Fugitive Days,” he goes so far as to write, “I don’t regret setting bombs. I didn’t do enough.” At least he is honest about it. ( emphasis my own)
His disturbing perspective and the inherently un-peaceful legacy of the 1960s peace movement has been enthusiastically embraced by the newest generation, tutored by the aging hippies of yore.

A steady uptick in violence against the military has been unfolding in recent months. The recruiting station in Washington, DC at 14th & L, the site of a storming and trashing on February 15, received additional overtures of “peace” last week when rocks were thrown at the windows and the exterior of the building, DC Metro police and counter protestors there to support the recruiters, were covered in red paint lobbed at them. What happened to daisies? They don’t stain and they don’t hurt!

The Times Square recruiting station in New York was the site of a bombing on March 6. Recruiters in Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Texas and Tennessee have all been the recipients of this special kind of leftist love in the last 12 months, just to name a few. Counter protestors in Berkley have not received hugs and love, but instead have been shoved and hit with signs proclaiming “Give Peace a Chance.”

Obama's Uncle Jere - God Damn 'Mother Cabrini, Enrico Fermi, Father Groppi and Their Garlic Noses!

Not once in my conversations with him have I heard him talk about any ethnic group in derogatory terms, or treat whites with whom he interacted with anything but courtesy and respect. He contains within him the contradictions - the good and the bad - of the community that he has served diligently for so many years.
from Senator Barack Obama's March 18,2008 Lecture to America on Race Relations - One Day before St. Joseph's Day.

Okay. . . again.

Two of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were of Italian descent: Maryland's William Paca and Delaware's Caesar Rodney. God Damn!

During the Civil War, the 39th New York Infantry consisted of 830 Italian Americans, known as "the Garibaldi Guard," who fought in the Union Army from Bull Run to Appomattox. Two Italian Americans also were Union generals: Brigadier General Francis Spinola and General Luigi Palma di Cesnola.

God Damn!

The only man in U.S. history to win the country's two highest military honors -- the Navy Cross and the U.S. Congressional Medal of Honor -- was John Basilone, a U.S. marine who died during the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945.

MSNBC-The Tool Shed: Olbermann and Maddow, The Doublemint Twins of Androgeny Insult McCain's Service and Experience with Insults to Age

From: Keith Olbermann and Ageism

Enter Keith Olbermann. In practically every one of his recent programs he has made a habit of referring to McCain as a tottering old man, implying that because of his age he’s obviously senile, out-of-it and incompetent. Tonight Olbermann was at his worst, denigrating the senator because he had admitted to remembering Pearl Harbor and mocking him as a witness to the original Depression. Olbermann also made a tasteless remark alluding to McCain’s alleged use of “Depends,” an incontinence diaper.

Why is ageism all “okay” in this country? Why would Olbermann feel free to make these kinds of remarks when I doubt he’d dare to make sexist or racist or homophobic remarks in the public forum?

Wearing identical gray pinstriped suits and those signature pomade unction ed waves of tress, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, America's Audio Shepherd's Pie of Pop Politics, and his twin Rachel Maddow sneered at Senator John McCain's speech on Foreign Policy in their continuation of gender neutral Wildean farce - Countdown for March 25, 2008:

It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information, Rachel, that McCain would lead into his speech on foreign policy by pacing his thoughts within the historical context of his life - Pearl Harbor!

It is always a silly thing to give advice, but to give good advice is fatal. , Keithie, since he is doing so well in the polls, that he would allow the Democrats an open door to his age.

Keith and Rachel on Countdown - I think.

The Oscar Wilde and Lord Douglas segment of tonight's Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC - What is On When I Fold Laundry - was especially Edwardian - No, Late Victorian ( the Old Queen was near death and so was Oscar) . . .mind you.

John McCain: Consistent Clear Leadership v. Moral Equivalence

Dean's Democrats are Frustrated Man! Moral Equivalence is Losing to Leadership!

DNC Creative Non Violence Leader, Altoona Harp, III, posited this profound assessment,

'It's a War Man! It's Like What Bill Maher Said and Mike Moore Showed in His Movie - Bush Hates White Women! There's Prisoners, Man! And Racism. And . . .Can I have that Hamburger when Your Done with It! Creative! Sweet!'

The Daffy Dean DNC behind Howard 'The Duck' Dean, The Hollywood Working Classes Moral Equivalence Team fighting for you on Huffington Post, Catholic School Girls for Peace, Hamerhard Media.com, Kevin Clark of the International Solidarity Movement which managed to kill a number of people in Gaza in 2003 are lined up against John McCain.

At the moment John McCain has no one to fight - he's giving Peace a chance. Hillary is trying to get invisible delegates and Barack is bagging some rays in the Caribbean; so six goofs with bottles of blood spray old women and little kids at Easter Sunday Mass in Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral Annex. Peace.

Oh, Yeah! That'll bring Peace, Cupcakes! Naw, it netted our six Revolutionary Robots, goaded by a crumb named Kevin Clark, into getting themselves locked up and slapped with arange of $25,000 to $35,000 bonds and the chance to sit for 12 semesters in prison:

The protesters, three men and three women, were present via telecast for Monday's court hearing after spending the night in jail.

One still had the fake blood covering his shirt and loudly corrected Circuit Judge Donald Panarese when he mispronounced his name.

All six are charged with felony criminal defacement of property and two counts of simple battery.

Prosecutors said the six were charged with felony charges because the damaged property belonged to a religious entity and the church will have to spend about $3,000 to replace chairs and carpeting.

A $400 cleaning failed to remove stains left by the fake blood, they said.

Prosecutors identified the six arrested as Donte D. Smith, 18; Ephran Ramirez Jr., 22; Ryne Ziemba, 25; and Regan Maher, 25, all of Chicago; Angela Haban, 20, of Prospect Heights; and Mercedes Phinaih, 18, of Downstate Bloomington.

The protesters, part of a group called Catholic School Girls Against the War despite their male and female membership, could each face up to five years in prison if convicted.

Judge Panarese set bond for each at $25,000 except for Smith, who prosecutors said spent time in federal prison for illegal entry onto a military installation. He received $35,000 bond.

Attorney Robert Luddeman, who represented all six at the hearing, said he felt the bonds were high.

Contrary to the publicity coup pulled off by the six on Sunday, supporters who attended Monday's hearing rushed from the Criminal Courts Building without comment and were followed outside by half a dozen reporters and cameramen.

The supporters, several with bright red highlights in their hair, told the media to back off and then asked them to wait for five minutes.

But after a several minute impasse–with both sides firing angry glances at one another–a handful of people arrived bearing peace banners.. Others in the group of 20 held aloft pictures of Iraqi children. And then everyone continued standing and staring at one another.

No one gave a comment, no one gave their name and no one associated themselves with any affiliation or cause.

Finally, Kathy Kelly, a member of the anti-war organization, Voices for Creative Non-Violence, spoke.

Though not a member of Catholic School Girls Against the War, Kelly said she was impressed with the impact the protests had and stressed the tragedy of lost lives in Iraq.

"It's so easy for people to become numb to the consequences of this war," said Kelly, 54. "By protesting they were able to occasion a great deal of attentiveness."

Code Stupid Part IV - Hamerhard Media, Michael Moore, Andy Thayer, Kevin Clark, Catholic Schoolgirls Against The War and Bloody Sunday

The Nut Bag is Deep. Kevin Clark of International Solidarity Movement(ISM) a thoroughly discredited wing of the Palestine terror network that helped get people killed in 2003 and Chicago Media group Hamerhard Media; party planners for violent acts, n'cest pas? Michale Moore touting the work of Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War - produced by Funded Organizations listed below. Who says stuff just happens?

Yesterday, Easter Mass worshippers at Holy Name Cathedral Annex were violently assaulted by six domestic terrorists/martyrs/goofs/ISM-stooges/ whatever. All six were arrested and charged with felonies. One of their witnesses Kevin Clark, 57 of International Solidarity Movement - discredited by Mother Jones as responsible if not complicit in the deaths of some people in Gaza in 2003 disappeared from the Chicago Tribune reports this morning. Bad idea Tribune - that is why no one is buying the Sun Times.

Turns out Kevin Clark has a friend in Michael Moore - the Reverse Gandhi of the American Left. Michael Moore touts Hamer Hard Media for it's fine work in this guerrilla theatre at Holy Name yesterday.

Hamer Hard Media -Here's Who we are:

Who we are Our history Our partners

Who we are: HammerHard Mediaworks is a worker-run non-profit collective of media professionals and activists committed to media advocacy, skills-sharing and movement-building in partnership with grassroots progressive groups.

Our history: HammerHard MediaWorks was jumpstarted in Chicago in 1995 by activist and communications worker Christine Geovanis, who needed a handle for press outreach to support the family of a mentally ill man who was beaten to death in front of his wife and children by two Chicago police officers. Today, HammerHard’s core collective includes Chris, independent media activist Richard Reilly, audio and video producer Allan Gomez, policy analyst Joleen Kirschenman, LGBT activist Philana Fisher, Palestinian solidarity activist Mahmud Ahmad, community activist Andy Thayer, stellar graphic designer Emily Lonigro and a rolling crew of volunteer partners and interns who keep the work going. Collective members have worked on issues that range from rank-and-file trade union democracy and immigrant rights to Palestinian solidarity and police brutality. Active projects today include tactical and public relations planning in projects revolving around police brutality, anti-war initiatives, and media access issues.

Our partners: Groups with whom we have a standing relationship or have worked with recently include Jewish Voice for Peace, the Chicago Coalition Against War & Racism, Carpenters for a Democratic Union, Peace Pledge/Chicago, the Free Palestine Alliance, the Arab American Action Network, Houston Global Awareness, People Power Can End the War Coalition, United Students Against Sweatshops, Smartmeme, PERRO -- the Pilson Environmental Rights & Reforms Organization, Democracy Uprising, the DNC to RNC March Project, the Stop CAT Coalition, the 8th Day Center for Justice, ISM -- the International Solidarity Movement, Chicago Action Medical.

Here's What They Do:

What we do How we work

What we do: Our collective members provide press outreach, tactical planning, public relations, and training in organizing and outreach to grassroots projects fighting for economic and social justice. The project is run – as it was from the day it was created – as a pro bono effort, although we have on the rare occasion allowed a project to kick us a couple of bucks. Our individual collective members also work on contract to spec on a variety of projects.

The HammerHard collective's philosophy is simple: help get the word out about stories that have to be told – and empower the people whose lives drive those stories to change the root conditions that thwart justice today. That philosophy is imbued with a couple of key concepts:

►First, media strategies must be embedded in a larger strategic organizing approach, so that core organizing goals always drive the messaging – and safeguard the integrity of the organizing effort.

►Second, movement-building is intrinsically bound to community- building, and wherever possible our work is designed to connect groups and people across shared lines of concern and common points of unity.

►Third, our collective strength is built on the struggles and accumulated wisdom of the people and projects who’ve broken ground before us. It is our right and our responsibility to pass these strengths along, free from the constraints of the commercial ‘imperatives’ that commonly undercut social and economic justice.

How we work: We run this volunteer effort collectively, and are always open to sharing our resources, collaborating with people and projects that share our goals, and working with groups to allow them to take control of their own media work and broader organizing. We are also committed to tapping into the burgeoning environments of new media, technology and information-sharing that have evolved in recent years as alternatives to traditional modes of media and organizing work. That said, we recognize that some traditional approaches – including people-to-people outreach and a renewed interest in approaches that are rooted in direct democracy – continue to have enormous value in our work. While we’re happy to manage media messaging and tactical planning for our partners, we are also deeply committed to sharing the skills and resources that allow grassroots projects to seize control of their own messaging and strengthen their organizing efforts.

Fake Blood, Real Arrests in Holy Name Cathedral Easter Service Disruption

WBBM 780

Six anti-war protestors have been charged following an Easter service disruption at Holy Name Cathedral in the Loop Sunday morning.

Three men and three women were arrested at 735 N. State St. at the 11:40 a.m. service. Cardinal Francis George was leading services at the Parish Center because of construction at the main Cathedral. The protestors discharged packets of fake blood. Some of it splattered parishioners.

The men arrested: 21-year-old Donte D. Smith, 22-year-old Ephran Ramirez, Jr., and 25-year-old Ryane J. Ziemba.

The women arrested: 18-year-old Mercedes Phinaih, 25-year-old Regan Maher and 20-year-old Angela Haban.

All six protestors have been charged with two counts of felony criminal damage to property and two counts of simple battery.

As Cardinal George began his homily, the protesters stood up to stage what they called a Die-In.

Protestors denounced the Cardinal for meeting this past January with President Bush, who they label a war criminal.

Ushers rushed in to remove the protestors along with some Chicago police officers who were stationed in the lobby to help with traffic control. The demonstrators also laid down – passive resistance -- to make it more difficult for them to be removed. The anti-war group “Catholic Schoolgirls Against The War” has claimed responsibility for the protest. They took part in the Wednesday Loop protest on the fifth anniversary of the start of the war. The Illinois Coalition for Peace and Justice lists them as members and describes the group this way: "Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War is a humorous, political street threatre group composed of college students and young adults. The group was formed in October of 2006 and meets twice per month."

After the brief interruption, the Cardinal took a moment to talk about the "peace" that God gives the faithful. He said he was grateful to those who interrupted his homily so that he could deliver that message.

The six are scheduled in court a week from Monday, March 31.

The group sat through the Mass until Cardinal George reached the homily. A few seconds into the main holiday message, the protestors rose from their seats, turned to address the thousands of parishioners in the auditorium and talked about the continuing death of both Iraqis and Americans in Iraq, according to a release from HammerHard.

Hamerhard Mediaworks is also a ICPJ member, listed this way: "HammerHard Mediaworks is a worker-run non-profit collective of media professionals and activists committed to media advocacy, skills-sharing and movement-building in partnership with grassroots progressive groups."

WBBM NewsRadio 780's Michele Fiore, CBS2 and The Sun-Times News Group wire contributed to this report.

Code Stupid Part III: Kevin Clark of Solidarity International Movement Gets His Name Out There and the Six Mopes Wait for Bond Hearing

ISM Clowns for Peace Antagonizing an Isreali Soldier.

Kev,

ISM and your no small part in the efforts got some some people killed in the Middle East. You need more attention.

Let me help:

The Six Goofs who committed an act of violenece on Easter Sunday worshippers at Holy Name Cathedral, yesterday, appear to be acting in coordination with Kevin Clark ( click my Post Title for the link to the AP story) a Leader of the Internationals Solidarity Movement - a group that works with Palestinian terrorsit organizations and whose activities have brought about the deaths of ISM members.

Kevin Clark wants some attention. Here goes - this is from a report on ISM activities, by :Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik, the famous Torah scholar,
emphasized that Jews have a religious obligation to
defend the community from attack.

More Evidence of the International Solidarity Movement's Support for Violence
(Return to Top)

The three messages below are taken from the April 2002 postings on a listserv of a New York City affiliate of the International Solidarity Movement (Independent Media Center) that describes itself thus: [Ref. 21]

This list is for those interested in travelling to Palestine for direct action in support of Palestinian human rights. The next delegation will be from March 29 - April 12. The following delegation is currently planned for June.

Like many e-mail messages, these were typed carelessly. We reproduce them as they appear on the list, only once adding a single letter in parentheses to make the meaning plain.

The messages were posted in the spring of 2002, a period during which hundreds of Israelis were murdered and hundreds more were maimed during the worst onslaught of terror attacks in Israel's history. Israel, which had held its fire during a year and a half of terror attacks that began at Rosh HaShanah 2001, responded in April of 2002 by sending the Israel Defense Force into the UNRWA camps to arrest the terrorists and destroy the bomb factories.

Message 1: [Ref. 22]

Earlier in the day, Arafat called on the international community to put an end to Israeli brutality against the Palestinian people in a message through an International Solidarity team that managed to enter his office and portray his message to the world.

Arafat praised Palestinian determination in the face of Israeli racism and terrorism using all sorts of American weapons to carry out aggression against the Palestinians.

Arafat told his people, "Together until a Palestinian child raises the Palestinian flag over Jerusalem's walls, mosques and churches."

Urgent call for Internationals to come to Palestine.

The International Solidarity Movement ISM calls upon who ever can
come to Palestine to come. you are all needed now. ISM and GIPP
groups in Ramallah and Bethlehem are doing great. They are the only
(p)rotection for President Arafat, they are with families in camps,
joining ambulances. Your presence makes a difference. if you can
find your way into Jerusalem we will do our best to get you in
Bethlehem or Ramallah.

Note that in the message above, the writer, Kevin, appears to be fully cognizant of the whereabouts of the "fighters" the IDF is pursuing. He regrets that the Palestinian fighters will lose unless the international community "rises up" to support them, and he offers the strategic reason given by Palestinian leaders in support of terrorism. "No matter the cost in Palestinian blood, as long as there was enough Israeli blood they will eventually win. The Israelis will eventually tire of this." Then he asks "What can we do?" His answer is that we can "do everything that is possible" and he holds up the "face of the struggle represented by Seattle, Durban, and Porto Alegre."

Seattle, Durban, and Porto Alegre were large-scale riots, during which crowds surged through city streets smashing windows and looting businesses. It is an odd model for a movement that purports to espouse non-violence. But, then, the Durban conference, condemned by the world for the flagrant Jew-hatred on display, is an odd model for any decent person to wish to emulate.
( Emphasis my own:Kevin Clark? Our Boy Witness in Solidarity with the Catholic School Girls - three of whom are what appear to be males - well, that is Solidarity, afterall.)

Sheltering Terrorists

In a widely publicized incident that made many doubt the ISM's claims that it does not collaborate with terrorists, Susan Barclay, an ISM organizer later deported by Israel, attempted to hide Islamic Jihad terrorist Shadi Sukiya in the ISM office in Jenin while the IDF searched the building for him. An ISM spokesman claimed that Barclay had no way of knowing who the man was—although that would hardly justify her attempt to prevent a search of the ISM offices by an officer of the law who was searching for an identified terrorist. The spokesman went on to say that he was not certain how he would behave if he were himself given the opportunity to shelter a known terrorist from the police.

Tom Wallace, 43, who has traveled from Boston to work as the ISM's spokesperson in Jenin, says the ISMers in Jenin had no idea who Sukiya was when they took him in that morning, and that they were only trying to help a man in distress. And if, in the future, someone who the ISM knows to be a terrorist shows up at the office door requesting assistance? "He's still someone who's hurt and needs help," Tom says, adding that ISM members in Jenin are now debating this very question. "Honestly, I don't know the answer." One year earlier, ISM volunteers went to great lengths to enter the Arafat compound for the purpose of acting as human shields for Arafat and for the terrorists that the ISM volunteer writing this journal entry proudly refers to as the "Ze'evi Five" in honor of the Israeli Cabinet minister whom they murdered.

Presidential Compound

On 21 April, Israeli forces redeployed from areas in Ramallah but maintained their tight besiegement of the presidential compound and the surrounding neighborhoods, which comprise much of El Bireh. Inside the compound, Arafat was confined to less than one building in the compound and was surrounded by security personnel, top advisors, a handful of international solidarity movement personnel, as well as the "Ze'evi Five" (those accused of being involved in the assassination of Israeli Minister of Tourism, Rehav'am Ze'evi on 18 September 2001).

IDF position

Numerous international organizations operate in Israel and the Palestinain-controlled territories, including the Red Cross, the Mennonite Church relief workers, and literally dozens of others. Only the ISM has acquired a special status in the eyes of Israel security. In a recent interview, an IDF officer stated the official position plainly. "We have nothing against the internationals," says a senior IDF officer. "But, as far as we are concerned, ISM is not an international organization or a peace organization. It's a pro-Palestinian organization, set up by Palestinians, funded by Palestinians and linked to Palestinian terror."

The Palestinian Solidarity Movement: the American, Student Arm of the International Solidarity Movement
(Return to Top)

The International Solidarity Movement prefers to remain an unincorporated, informal movement for many reasons, perhaps the most important of which is that this allows movement leaders to disavow incriminating actions and statements by other movement leaders. For example, when Charlotte Kates, leader of New Jersey Solidarity, gave numerous interviews to the press in the summer of 2003 in which she endorsed suicide bombing, other movement leaders claimed that she was not part of the ISM, and she herself claimed to have left the ISM and joined al Awda instead.

Even as this split was taking place, however, the Solidarity Movement was sponsoring a July 2003 "Wheels of Justice" speaking tour. In announcements advertising the tour, Al-Awda, the Palestinian Right to Return Coalition, Voices in the Wilderness, and the Middle East Children's Alliance describe themselves as "Affiliates of the International Solidarity Movement." [Ref. 25]

Similarly, in September of 2003, Adam Shapiro, cofounder of the International Solidarity Movement answered telephone inquiries from the AMCHA office in New York regarding the upcoming National Conference of the Palestinian Solidarity Movement by denying that the ISM and the PSM were formally related in any manner. However, at the Second Annual Conference of the Palestinian Solidarity Movement, held at the University of Michigan in October 2002 and at which Adam Shapiro was a featured speaker, the delegates to the Palestinian Solidarity conference voted to formalize their support of the International Solidarity Movement. [Ref. 26]

Throughout this period, campus groups affiliated with the Palestinian Solidarity Movement, which functions as the American, campus arm of the ISM, continued to travel to Israel, where they worked as volunteer activists under the auspices of the ISM, calling themselves members of ISM while in Israel and members of PSM upon returning to campus.

The Palestine Solidarity Movement consistently refuses to condemn terrorism. The Freeman Center at Duke set the following statement as a necessary common ground to enable dialogue to take place: "We condemn the murder of innocent civilians, whether by individuals, groups, or nations, anywhere in the world." The Chronicle, the student daily newspaper at Duke, reported as follows: [Ref. 27]

PSM's policy does not allow it to condemn any particular action. Thus, the first statement, "We condemn the murder of innocent civilians, whether by individuals, groups, or nations, anywhere in the world" is inconsistent with PSM's philosophy.

Rann Bar-On, designated spokesman for Hiwar, the PSM-affiliated group at Duke University responsible for hosting the Fourth National Conference, was interviewed by The Herald-Sun in Durham and was quoted as follows: [Ref. 28]

"We don't see it as very useful for us as a solidarity movement to condemn violence. That will not achieve any particular goal."

I gotta wonder if ISM, which has history in Illinois if dubious outreach to Middle Terror might not have some connection to Tony Rezko and Nadhmi Auchi. Solidarity breeds some starnge partnerships - take a look at the six goofs awaiting today's bond hearings. Bloody Big Bond?

Code Stupid Part II - Commander Zed is Kevin Clark of ISM

The Fictional Commander Zed Chumpsky of my previous post is played in real life by Kevin Clark of International Solidarity Movement.

According to the Chicago Tribune Story - International Solidarity Movement which managed to get some people killed in Lebanon - ask Kevin Clark - needs some light shined on its role in the felonies committed during Easter Mass at Holly Name Annex on Easter Sunday.

From The Tribune article:

"If Cardinal George is a man of peace and is walking the walk and talking the talk, he should have confronted George Bush and demanded an immediate end to the war," said Kevin Clark of International Solidarity Movement, who attended the service to serve as a witness for the protesters.

I hope that Attorneys for the Archdiocese of Chicago, Serious News Reporters, Chicago Police, the Cook County States Attorney and the Office of Homeland Security give Kevin Clark and International Solidarity Movement an intensely close, personal, thorough look at his role in this act of violence on people at worship.

Code Stupid! Anti War Protesters Spray Blood on Holy Name Easter Worshippers

Commander Zed Chumpsky Phoned in the Imperative.
Baldwin Plum put the Action Team to Work!

Our Heroic Girls for Peace went to work for Peace and sprayed blood on Mass Goers ( the Heart of any Violent Conflict) as soon as they finished their Smoothie Big Gulps! Give Peace a Chance - make sure the really stupid quit twitching, first.

QUESTION: Did the protesters drop any money in the collection plates, prior, during or after martyrdom?

N.B.

( Photos of Martyrs above are representative of the quality of character evident in the act reported - the Tribune holds right to actual photos of the Easter Bunnies 2008)

Click My Post Title for the Chicago Tribune Story of anti-war protesters who sprayed blood on themselves and worshippers during Easter Mass at Holy Name Cathedral here in Chicago. Get a load of the pictures of these mopes!

It is too bad that the protesters chose Holy Name Annex when they might have opted for a sure ticket to Martyrdom* by committing the very same act at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in the Canaryille Community ( close-knit ethnic blue collar demographic). Here, at St. Gabe's, another sobriquet might be substituted for 'martyr' and the subsequent encomiums incumbent upon being one might apply.**

*

The term martyr (Greek μάρτυς "witness") initially signified a witness in the forensic sense, a person called to bear witness in legal proceedings. With this meaning it was used in the secular sphere as well as in both the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Bible.[1] The process of bearing witness was not intended to lead to the death of the witness, although it is known from ancient writers (e.g. Josephus) that witnesses, especially of the lower classes, were tortured routinely before being interrogated as a means of forcing them to disclose the truth. During the early Christian centuries the term acquired the extended meaning of a believer who witnesses to his or her religious belief and on account of this witness endures suffering and death. The term in the English language is a loanword and used only with the extended meaning of someone who has been killed for their religious belief. The death of a martyr or the value attributed to it is called martyrdom.

In the context of church history, from the time of the persecution of early Christians in the Roman Empire, being a martyr indicates a person who is killed for maintaining his or her religious belief, knowing that this will almost certainly result in imminent death (though without intentionally seeking death). Christian martyrs sometimes declined to defend themselves at all, in what they see as a reflection of Jesus' willing sacrifice. However, the definition of martyrdom is not specifically restricted to the Christian faith.

Usage of "martyr" is also not uncommon among Arab Christians (i.e. anyone killed in relation to Christianity or a Christian community, e.g. Pierre Amine Gemayel), indicating that the English word "martyr" may not actually be a proper equivalent of its commonly ascribed Arabic translation.

**
The metaphorical use of the word to refer to the worst place in a region (e.g., "the arsehole of the world") is first attested in print in 1865; the use to refer to a contemptible person is first attested in 1933.[1] But as with other vulgarities, these uses of the word may have been common in oral speech for some time before their first print appearances.

'Typical White Person' Gaffe, Conviction, Endgame for Obama?

'Typical White Persons" - Gettysburg July 4, 1863

Barack Obama is a politician: Schooled, Glib, Impressive, and all too Human. His remarks about his white Grandmother being a 'typical white person' generally would be considered a safe slide to the base; but, this being a Presidential Campaign, Obama was tagged out.

Reaction to the document of his lecture on Race in America is being generally greeted with high praise. I thought it was thin beer - a political dodge to avoid speaking to his years of friendship and discipleship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright a Black Liberation preacher whose theology is a tangle of Marxism and Gospel.

Instead of explaining the appeal of Black Liberation theology to his heart, Obama lectured America with a moral equivalence dualism: Wright harbors hate; so does Obama's white Grandmother. That works with radical lawyers making lawsuits for criminals against police and plays very well in the press: Mr. 'A' murdered seven people, by incinerating them in their home, but he says that police 'tortured' him in custody.'
It works in court and in the press, but I do not believe that it will work at the polls.

Obama was in the 'jackpot' over Wright, Rezko, and his long and friendly association with domestic terrorists Ayers and Dohrn and so it seemed to make sense to throw out a moral equivalence defense.

This is the court of public opinion and not one where clever applications of statutes and ambiguities can garner a victory over right and wrong. Lecturing the country on what the typical black, white, red, brown, and grey American knows full well, lives day-to-day, deals with day-to-day, and emerges almost universally triumphant day-to-day. Americans treat each other with respect, dignity and fairness. Deeds not words, as Obama cited in his text.

Barack Obama's speech was a calculated political tactic. It failed. His subsequent remarks about his Grandmother being 'a typical white person' - fatal.

John McCain: With Nick Sarkozy, America & France Again Get Cozy: Women and World Affairs at Kean Gas

PHOTOS FROM REUTERS: Regular Guys married to stunning women and France and America - together again!

With wet snow making it easy to catch the Easter Bunny laying out baskets early tomorrow morning, Gino Ford and I debated whether or not a 'regular guy' could have Run-way Models of the female variety all over him like a cheap suit.

'Look, we are trolls. We make way under 70 Large a year, work long hours, got at least three kids in Catholic Schools and College, taxed up the ying-yang, then we come home bolt down dinner, get up to the gym, or the park, or where ever the kids are playing a sport, or maybe going to music, Irish Step Dance, Beverly Art Center lessons, getting honey-do stuff done and then catching a game on cable - plays hell on our looks - well yours anyway Hickey'

'True, my once drum-like taut and tawny skin has taken on a plucked turkey-like quality and my hair, what's left of it, is whiter than Obama's Granny, but a good guy can be attractive to a beautiful woman.'

'Sure, I'm married to one - hey, she might read this on line, don't be a smart ass, Hickey, and sneak in what we're saying. You will! I know you! You have always been a gold-plated a. . ; - No Really - Honey, this is theoretical stuff! My wife is gorgeous! Get that in. Look, we been going steady since she got out of St. Joe's in Canaryville. Don't get me in Dutch. All I'm saying is regular guys - good guys don't hook up with knockout covergirls. Those skinny broads with pissed off expressions and such!'

'How about Mike Cullen? God, he's a stand-in for Larry the Cable guy and he's married to a knock-out? How about John McCain? Ever see his wife?'

'Yeah. but he's a U.S. Senator. Still, our local politicians are mutts and they hooked some eye-candy. Joyce, Sheehan, Maloney, Dart and Hynes are all politicians and about as good looking as a burlap bag full of belly buttons and they married some good lookers. I see where you're going with this.'

'To France, Gino! Even a Frog can be a good guy. Their new President, Nick Sarko! He's been married to a string of Hotties and he's still a good guy. The First French President to actually like Americans - even when we liberated Paris in WWII, DeGaulle hated Americans. This guy is like he's from over by Hegewisch. He's got a Moogie name Sarkozy. I'll bet he's got tons of cousins over around 130th & Baltimore and a ll the alphabet streets.'

'Point taken. A Good guy can date and even marry a hottie. There's hope for you Hickey, yet. On second thought - you ain't such a great guy. If I take any heat from my bride over your typing on the Web, Bub, you'll find a little something from Gino in your Easter Basket. A Mount Carmel Kiss. You know how those feel.'

'Happy Easter Gino!'

John McCain and Nicholas Sarkozy met again in Paris. When John McCain takes the Oath of Office, France and America will once again live the promise and commitment to Freedom forged by Lafayette and Franklin. Vive la France!

Click my post title for an article about Mccain and Sarkozy - here's a taste:

McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for the November election, was in Paris as part of a Senate Armed Services Committee fact-finding mission that also visited Iraq, Israel, Jordan and Britain.

He said he had thanked Sarkozy for French participation in combat operations against the Taliban in Afghanistan and said he had talked about climate change, including the importance of nuclear power in cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

He praised Sarkozy, who has put great effort into improving relations with Washington after the falling out over the U.S.-led war in Iraq under his predecessor Jacques Chirac.

"I think relations with France will continue to improve no matter who is president of the United States because this president is committed to greater cooperation and values our friendship," he said.

John McCain: McCain Will Get Keystone State Democrats

In a sign of just how divisive and ugly the Democratic fight has gotten, only 53% of Clinton voters say they'll vote for Obama should he become the nominee. Nineteen percent say they'll go for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and 13% say they won't vote.

Clinton leads Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, 51% to 35% -- increasing her lead from February, when she was up 44% to 37%. She leads among young voters, wealthier voters...voters in virtually every demographic group, with the exceptions of Philly voters and non-whites.

MSNBC: Keith Olbermann -America's #1 Juice Bag

Frustra laborant quotquot se calculationibus fatigant pro inventione quadraturae circuli

Hi C? Nope. Capri Sun? Damn tastey! Keith Olbermann? Now, your talking Margaret! America's Number One Juice Bag!

This morning, just before the first blizzard of the Spring darted down on Chicago, I walked up to Kean Gas for coffee. I checked the headline of the Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun Times, and The Southtown Star to see if MSNBC's hours of hysterical screaming and repeating about a Senator Obama's Pasport Broachment being the Hindenburg, Pearl Harbor, Lunar Landing, Nixon Resignation, Sox ( Red and White) Win! banner story of our times.

Nope Nothing.Click my post title for The Swamp: Chicago Tribune's Mike Dorning's fine report on this little story.

Here, Keith - let me explain it to you. Now, I am just a regular guy, mind you. I wear socks when it snows -like today; make sure that I opened the garage door before I back out - that stuff. Here's how it is:

1. You are - and the whole gang at MSNBC as well -shilling for Barack Obama. No sweat. He is a great guy. I'm backing John McCain.

2. Obama is in the jackpot because of his judgment in his friendships with Tony Rezko, Rev. Wright, convicted domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn and just not being ready to make a run for the Presidency. Hence, they want a tail for you clowns to chase and workup some self-righteous flatulence to fill air-time.

3. You have the personality of a dial tone.

4. A square can not be a circle - hence the Latin axiom above.

5. Nothing that you say matters much to people who actually work for a living, pay taxes, Honor their Country, attend religious services, practice what they preach, get really outraged by anything Radio Heads or Baritone Bozos, like yourself, have to say.

6. Stay out of Quaker Meetings - the inner light only goes so far.

7. The Dalai Lama told me and the crowd up at Keegan's Pub that, once he is finished with Red China, he is coming to MSNBC and give you the public ass kicking of the New Millennium - of course that was at the South Side St. Paddy's Parade and he had put away four or five Guinness Bombs. But, just the same. Keep an eye out for that baldy chap in Red Robes. The Man has a set of Guns on Him!

8. The Easter Bunny . . . we'll let that one simmer for a while.

John McCain: Extraordinary Foresight - McCain on Churchill's Vision

John McCain's forthcoming book Hard Call: Courageous Decisions by Inspiring People (Gibson Square, published April 3) received rave reviews in the Telegraph. Click my post title for the full treatment.

Here is an excerpt from this historical study of great people whose judgment, based on life experience, set-backs, courage and ability to find the best solution to seemingly insurmountable obstacles, changed history.

Senator John McCain, the maverick advocate for change in American strategy in Iraq that brought about the dramatic shift in combat casualties from horrific to manageable, focuses on the courageous vision of Sir Winston Churchill.

John McCain explains the genius for vision:

Wondrous as it may seem, genuine foresight is not really the mark of special genius that is inexplicably bestowed upon the few and withheld from the many. It is rather more human than that. Most often, as was the case with Winston Churchill, a man of intelligence and imagination, foresight is the result of painstaking inquiry and the disciplined application of reason to acquired knowledge, in order to see a previously unseen pattern or opportunity.

A steely commander: Winston Churchill in 1914
People who have shown extraordinary foresight are often rather unconventional. They take calculated risks. They aren't afraid to be bold. People whom history has proclaimed as visionaries have often appeared more reckless than their contemporaries.
( emphasis my own)

John McCain is a risk taker, much like his subject Winston S. Churchill.

In 1913, as Sea Lord for the Crown, Churchill studied the expansion of German Naval Power and set into motion strategies and tactical imperatives that would counter act a shift in naval supremacy:
It is important to remember that at the time Churchill was preparing his navy for war by using his intellect, industry and the often irresistible force of his arguments, he was only in his thirties.

Yet in challenging the weight of generations of experience, he saw what others could not. He believed possible what they dismissed as impossible. And he was able to do it because he had compensated for his lack of experience by teaching himself everything he needed to know.

While naval budgets were premised on his firm intention to build two ships for every one Germany commissioned, he offered to suspend or limit ship construction should Germany do the same. When Germany rejected the offer, he proceeded with his plans.

In a speech to Parliament in 1913, defending the budget he had proposed, Churchill observed that other powers did not need a navy to defend themselves. An island nation did. "They build them so as to play a part in the world's affairs. It is sport to them. It is life and death to us."

Churchill had worried that the fleet had no protected wartime anchorage near waters where it would confront the German ships. He located one at Scapa Flow in the Orkneys, where the fleet could keep a watchful eye on the Heligoland Bight, through which the Kaiser's dreadnoughts would have to pass in the event of war. When war did come, Churchill and the fleet were ready.

Germany recognised that its High Seas Fleet was no match for the superior force Churchill had assembled. For the first two years of the war, it sought to avoid a clash involving the entire fleets of both nations, hoping to diminish the British fleet piecemeal. It never succeeded.

One one hand, Senator John McCain, a risk taker, but sober student of history, offers sound judgment and boldly makes a stand and on the other, Democratic challengers for the White House advocate retreat in the face of challenges.

John McCain: Al Queda on The Run

I was going to post something satirical about Arianna Huffington's address to the 'All Things Cool' Conference funded by the Take Back America.Org folks who marched on Washington D.C. yesterday, but they did such a great job themselves that it would have been overkill. You can not beat Cadillac Commies and Lexus Lefties for the pure fun of self-satire. Dressed to their 'Fabulous Nines' they were going to march and 'Take Back America,' but there was so much great finger food in the VIP tent that they decided to give the streets to the people.

Marches across America, protesting the 6th year of America's War on Islamist Terror drew enough people to pack a phone booth in Custer Park, IL. The Surge is working - stick to Race; you are doing just a bang-up job on that!

In Chicago, pigeons and bag ladies competed with protesters for face-time on Channel 5. The Chicago Police had all their Home Land Security Ninja suits but nothing to do in them.

Because the Surge is working in Iraq, all the Hollywood Revolutionaries could stay and eat the finger food like they were eating the rich.

Meanwhile, Senator John McCain and British P.M. Howard Brown met to discuss the global war on Islamist terror and McCain reported that Al Queda is on the run:

He acknowledged that Britons, along with Americans, were sometimes "frustrated by our lack of progress" in Iraq but insisted the situation had "improved dramatically" in the last year.

Britain has remained the U.S. government's closest ally in Iraq, although its continued military presence there is unpopular at home. It currently has about 4,000 troops stationed in southern Iraq but plans to reduce that to about 2,500 later this year if conditions allow. It has reduced troop levels in the last two years, as its military commitment in Afghanistan has increased.

McCain said he met with the Labor Party prime minister as a senator and as a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, not as a Republican presidential candidate.

He said he admired Brown and appreciated the prime minister's commitment to maintaining the "unique relationship" that exists between the United States and Great Britain.

McCain also applauded Brown's leading efforts on climate change and said he hoped that new global limits on greenhouse gas could be reached with China and India.

The senator was scheduled to meet with opposition Conservative leader David Cameron next before traveling to Paris to meet with pro-American French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

John McCain: Americans, or Demographic Victims?

There is a clear choice in our upcoming Presidential Election - a unified America of serving citizens, or Balkan Republic of demographically cut interest groups. John McCain or the Democratic Candidates.

Senator Obama's Phildelphia Lecture on Race identified groups of voters that he needs to shore up the gaps widening in his campaign.

While explaining Black America to America, Barack Obama tossed some Hope to ethnic white blue collar voters ( how about that for a sociological disection of persons), Hispanics and Jews.

JIM VANDEHEI & JOHN F. HARRIS (click my post title for thefull report) reported that:

For working-class whites — whose coolness toward Obama helped tilt Ohio to Hillary Rodham Clinton — Obama spoke with understanding about why they dislike busing and affirmative action. “Like the anger in the black community, these resentments aren’t always shared in polite company,” he said.

For Hispanics, who have sided with Clinton in the vast majority of states this election, he lashed pundits scouring polls for signs of tension between “black and brown” and said the two communities face a common heritage of discrimination and inadequate public services.

Finally, Obama sought to connect with white Jewish voters — potentially one of the rawest nerves of all amid the Wright controversy — denouncing those blacks who see “the conflicts in the Middle East as rooted primarily in the actions of stalwart allies like Israel, instead of emanating from the perverse and hateful ideologies of radical Islam.”

It will take weeks, at least until the April 22 Pennsylvania primary, to know whether all of Obama’s political and cultural base-touching succeeded.

John McCain speaks to all Americans, not balakanized identity groups clamoring for their piece of the pie. 'When, oh when, will America have moral capacity to elect a third generation Laplander Swedenborgian?'

John McCain laid out these points last year for all Americans.

Americans have lost faith and trust in their government - Americans have lost trust that their government and its elected officials will serve the Nation's interest and not their own. Special interests have too much influence in Washington. Americans want a courageous leader who will stand up to the trial lawyers and labor bosses and other special interests, govern by principle rather than political expedience, keep their promises, and solve problems instead of leaving them for our children. Restoring Americans' confidence in their government is what's at stake in this election.

Americans want judges who will strictly interpret the law and not legislate from the bench - The next president will appoint many federal judges and perhaps even a Supreme Court justice. The recent victory on partial birth abortion is an example of how important the Supreme Court is in protecting our values and interpreting the law as it is written. America needs a president who will provide strong moral leadership. A Democrat president will appoint judges who make law with disregard for the will of the people, but to the cheers of those advancing a liberal social agenda. America needs a leader who recognizes that that the people and states should decide what's best, not the courts. The future of the U.S. Supreme Court is what's at stake in this election.

We are the Captains of our Fate, or Victims. Clear choice to me.

John McCain: McCain Admonishes China Over Tibet Outrages

STATEMENT BY JOHN MCCAIN ON TIBET

For Immediate Release
Contact: Press Office

Tuesday, March 18, 2008
703-650-5550

ARLINGTON , VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain today issued the following statement on the situation in Tibet :

"The unfolding tragedy in Tibet should draw the attention of the entire world. I deplore the violent crackdown by Chinese authorities and the continuing oppression in Tibet of those merely wishing to practice their faith and preserve their culture and heritage. I have listened carefully to the Dalai Lama and am convinced he is a man of peace who reflects the hopes and aspirations of Tibetans. I urge the government of the People's Republic of China to address the root causes of unrest in Tibet by opening a genuine dialogue with His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Reports of shutting down YouTube and confiscation of SIM cards are disturbing and reports of multiple deaths are far more so, especially in a year when China is preparing to host the Olympic Games. I urge the Chinese authorities to ensure peaceful protest is not met with violence, to release monks and others detained for peacefully expressing their views and to allow full outside access to Tibet ."

John McCain: Steve Huntley Lays Out The Democrats Problem Facing a Uniting Leader in John McCain

Click my post title for Chicago Sun Times Steve Huntley who presents the catalogue of the Victimology ( they like them 'ologies')of the National Democratic Party.

A position that touts victimization is pretty weak argument for support. Voters, like Regular Democrats in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio and elsewhere, vote for effective programs and candidates, but the Democratic National Committee has been handcuffed to an ideology of want and despair for decades.

Jackie Gleason's recurring charcter, 'The Poor Soul,' seems a pretty good example of the DNC's opinion of most Americans: a hunch shouldered, sad-eyed, pouty victim awaiting his next shower of torment. The American Mope.

Steve Huntley writes today:

Democrats might well remember something else: That you reap what you sow. And four decades of identity politics and grievance culture are, to borrow a phrase from the pastor, coming home to roost.

Read Steve Huntley. The candidate who can unite our country is in Iraq doing what a President should do and the Democratic Candidates are talking - still.

John McCain against the Mopes. I'll take McCain.

Obama's 'Quiet Riot' Remarks Ring a Bell Anyone?

Back in June, Barack Obama made, what I thought to be, a rather callow and divisive remark while giving a speech at Hampton University:

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Tuesday that the Bush administration has done nothing to defuse a "quiet riot" among blacks that threatens to erupt just as riots in Los Angeles did 15 years ago.

The first-term Illinois senator said that with black people from New Orleans and the Gulf Coast still displaced 20 months after Hurricane Katrina, frustration and resentments are building explosively as they did before the 1992 riots.

"This administration was colorblind in its incompetence," Obama said at a conference of black clergy, "but the poverty and the hopelessness was there long before the hurricane.

"All the hurricane did was to pull the curtain back for all the world to see," he said.

Obama's criticism of Bush prompted ovation after ovation from the nearly 8,000 people gathered in Hampton University's Convocation Center, particularly when he denounced the Iraq war and noted that he had opposed it from the outset.

Repeatedly, he referred to the riots that erupted in Los Angeles after a jury acquitted four police officers of assault charges in the 1991 beating of Rodney King, a black motorist, after a high speed chase. Fifty-five people died and 2,000 were injured in several days of riots in the city's black neighborhoods.

"Those 'quiet riots' that take place every day are born from the same place as the fires and the destruction and the police decked out in riot gear and the deaths," Obama said. "They happen when a sense of disconnect settles in and hope dissipates. Despair takes hold and young people all across this country look at the way the world is and believe that things are never going to get any better."

He argued that once a hurricane hits or a jury renders a not guilty verdict, "the frustration is there for all to see."

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=3246610

Given the recent interest in racial politics in the last few days, I wonder if Rev. Jeremiah Wright helped to script that speech.

John McCain: Palm Sunday in Iraq - Service and Straight Talk

I just got back from Palm Sunday early morning Mass at Sacred Heart, an Old French built mission chapel on the far south side attended by folks from many parishes who find the earlier services to their the liking and schedules.

While I was at Mass, John McCain was landing in Iraq for his eighth visit to that unhappy nation, where American kids are fighting terror and bringing peace to neighborhoods for the first time in decades.

John McCain's opponents, Senator Barack Obama who hit an unassailable wall in his campaign bricked and mortared by the the outlandish and hateful rhetoric of his Pastor and the burgeoning bundles of evidence leaping out of the Rezko Corruption Trial and Senator Hillary Clinton working to get pace with Obama's meteoric start in the collection of votes and delegates, while stamping out the flaming little brown bags of offensive hip-shots from her husband and surrogates.

What was it that Senator Clinton told her angry crowd last week about the 'The Man in the Arena?' John McCain is squarely in the Arena.

John McCain goes to Iraq and his opponents orchestrate damage control to cracks and holes in their 'America Needs Change' flats and scenery.

John McCain: 35 Years of Freedom to Serve his Country - Obama is Finished

John McCain 2008 Launches 'Journey to Freedom' Commemorating the 35th Anniversary of John McCain's Return Home from Vietnam

Contact: Press Office, 703-650-5550; www.JohnMcCain.com

ARLINGTON, Va., March 14 /Standard Newswire/ -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today launched a new web video entitled "Journey to Freedom," commemorating the 35th anniversary of John McCain's release on March 15, 1973 from the infamous "Hanoi Hilton" after being held for 5 ½ years as a prisoner of war.

The web video features fellow former POWs LtCol. Orson Swindle, USMC (Ret.) and Cdr. Paul Galanti, USN (Ret.), as well as John McCain's mother, Mrs. Roberta McCain.

John McCain is a decorated navy captain with a distinguished personal record and family history of service to our country. The son and grandson of two Admirals, McCain spent 5 ½ years as a POW in Vietnam. He commanded the U.S. Navy's largest squadron. His Naval honors include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

A group of John McCain's fellow former POWs released the following letter commemorating the 35th Anniversary of his release:

Dear Friend,

March is a memorable time for the Americans who were released from captivity in North Vietnam during the month back in 1973. The pathway to freedom began in February, as the war in Vietnam was concluding for America.

John McCain, one of those American heroes, returned to freedom on March 15th, 1973, released from Hanoi that day along with other very happy American Prisoners of War. His journey home was the continuation of a remarkable story with chapters yet to be written. Having survived life-threatening and disabling injuries, along with the brutality of the POW experience, John had steadfastly resisted communist efforts to exploit him and his fellow POWs. John's homecoming began a new phase of his life. His courageous service and his political career are well known today, and now he is the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party to be the next President of the United States.

We are but representatives of over eighty former POWs who shared those heady days of freedom and those years of captivity and suffering with John McCain. Collectively, we are proudly doing all we can to help our dear friend, John McCain, become our next commander in chief. We are campaigning with him, helping him raise money, speaking on his behalf and, in constant conversations, promoting his candidacy among our friends and family all over the country. We are doing so because we believe in John McCain.

Our convictions about John's character were born in the crucible of adversity. We have witnessed his courage, integrity, character and intellect. We know and respect his sense of honor and his tenacity in the face of grave danger and prolonged hardship. These qualities, combined with his life experiences, make John ready for the enormous challenges facing the leader of our country. No one -- no one -- is more qualified to be president, to lead our country, to protect our nation and our children and grandchildren. We know him. We know his strengths, his love of country and his commitment to serve it. He has been severely tested, and we have witnessed him under pressure. We trust his judgment and his ability to lead our country in these difficult times.

We are joined in that trust by over 130 retired Flag and General officers who are members of Senator McCain's Military Advisory Council. They know and have worked with John McCain over the past three decades dealing with major national security challenges. They know leadership and they know danger and challenges. They know experience. They know quality. And they chose John McCain for president.

We must elect a leader who is ready on day one for these difficult and dangerous times. We need a leader who will insist that we win in the struggle against radical Islam. John is committed to let our troops win! We need a leader who will take on the big problems that most politicians seek to avoid. Leaders take on the tough issues. John McCain is that sort of leader. He knows the American spirit -- he has lived it like no other candidate. He knows we can do better and that America's best days are ahead.

Sincerely,

Commander Everett Alvarez, USN (Ret.)

Side Note I caught Hannity and Colmes after St. Cajetan 7th Grade presented Living Stations of the Cross - Anthony Reya was stunning as Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews and Danny Bohlmann his oily best as Pontius Pilate the Hand Washer - Clare Hickey was a 'Give Us Barabbas Crowd Guy and one of the Ladies at the Cross. Good Theatre and Great Lenten Service! Clare played 'Jail Break' with the Warrior Mob around the Church so beat it for home.

I wanted to catch The Wire Finale, but was snagged in the surf by the announcement that Senator Obama would speak to his Pastor's Ant-American and racist sermons. Normally Fat Boy Hannity and Skelator Colmes get short shrift from this Boyo. But I watched. Obama, thank God, did not talk to to the motor-mouthed Mick Hannity, but to Major Dude Something. Hannity never lets anyone get a word in edge-wise, especially if Hannity has determined the guest is not an 'America' - like Willie Cunnigham.

Senator Barack Obama blinked like a five year old locked over the weekend in Beverly Cigar, while answering Major Dude from Fox News. I like Barack Obama. Whoever is handling his campaign is arrogant and smug. I can just hear the Progressive NPR Low-Talker -'Ignore your critics Barry, if they ask you any questions, They are the racists.' I would say that this marks the end of a pretty good run for the Office, But it is very clear that Senator Obama is not ready The Presidency of the United States.

Chicago Daily Observer - The Only Place for Balanced Opinion

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

Lewis Carroll - He was no Cathleen Falsani

Thirsty in a very dry land, parched readers looked to drink from the water of a clear pond of thought and opinion, but there was ne'er a drop to drink. Chicago was a journalism desert until August 8, 2007.

And Then!!!!!!!

A leading Chicago Philanthropist funded the operation of an Internet news source that offer a varied and balanced forum of opinion for Chicago and the Nation.

The Chicago Daily Observer was launched in late summer of 2007 and continues to provide the best source of opinion on politics, religion, social mores and topical events.

Operated by local genius Thomas Roeser and business innovator John Powers, Chicago Daily Observer manage and edit the vast array of offerings from every point of view and level of talent - from Don Rose and Dennis Byrne all the way down to Pat Hickey.

Thomas F. Roeser is an 18th Century man of letters and parts gracing an age marked by convenient convictions and Wal-Mart world views. Tom Roeser, a life long Catholic and corporate leader, with a discerning eye that scans the offerings from the written word, drinks deeply from the best in thought and shares the best of what he has consumed in voice that levels the conversation with democratic largess.

Here is a posting of Tom's August 8th launch of Cdobs - Chicago Daily Observer. What Tom initiated with John Powers runs sprints in the lanes of opinion every morning.

Not long ago after I spent most of my blog (www.tomroeser.com) complaining about the abysmal quality of our local daily newspapers, a reader known as Lovie’s Leather wrote to say “why don’t you either shut up or start a newspaper of your own?” I don’t know what happened to Lovie’s Leather but he gave me an idea. I visited with a number of people and after a year we have funds were collected to start this five-day-a-week Chicago Daily Observer… which will be a for-profit Internet publication—free to you but paid by ads and other income-producing devices that will allow it to stand tall in the free market.

We have opened our doors to capture a “center-right’ treatment of the news…some breaking news, some commentary—but all, we hope, in the spirit of Chicago’s great newspaper tradition. We’ll have some well-known names in this issue and the succeeding ones…including Dennis Byrne , Russ Stewart, Jeff Berkowitz, Ben Joravsky, talk radio commentators you are familiar with—Deborah Rowe, Teri O’Brien, hopefully Eileen Byrne (who just got married)...as well as the inimitable Frank Penn, decorated veteran of Vietnam and a former Chicago police officer, Charlie Johnston, probably one of the finest grassroots practitioners in Illinois, Terry Sullivan who helps run an educational enrichment center in the inner city—Midtown, Nicholas Hahn III, the bright young just-turned-20 kid who in his efforts to conservatize DePaul and make it once again the Catholic university it somewhat dishonestly proclaims itself to be, has been named one of the five leading conservative young leaders in the U.S. by the Young America’s Foundation.

Others will include Peter Fitzgerald, Chris Dudley, Ben Joravsky (who will supplement his Reader duties to write in his interesting way on TIFs and other things), Joe Morris and Kathy Posner to name a few. Democrats won’t be ignored with contributions upcoming by people like Jack Franks, the bright young state representative and committee chairman from McHenry and Tom Dart, the young, vigorous sheriff of Cook county. More will be added by the day, Frank Avila, Frank Coconate—many others…

The idea got started with a lunch I had with Ron Gidwitz, entrepreneur and civic leader, whose innovative run for governor of Illinois impressed me. Not enough to support him at the time but as I got to know him, I was highly stirred by his encyclopedic understanding of government in the city and state, bracing ideas with a free-market twist and his courage in articulating them. Ron and all of us agree that the role of government must be subordinated to the free market. After that, I “drafted” John Powers, the young co-founder of Pay-Pal who has become our president. He is one of the brightest young men in Illinois. John is responsible for a lot of snazzy devices in our product—maps that pinpoint where in the Chicago area events are happening that interest us. In the future, for example, if you want to find a good charter school you just need to hit a button and they’re there…or a neighborhood with less crime than yours…hit the button and you’ll see them all. John is responsible for all those wonderful innovations.

Ron, John and I have a lot of fun putting this project together and we intend to see it grow and become a true alternative to the liberal promulgating four major daily newspapers in this market. In a sense, we hope to be something like a local version of www.realclearpolitics.com by giving you a taste of different views
that…for some reason (I wonder why?)...have been omitted from our newspapers.

Here in the Chicago area have two city newspapers. One is the Democratic party’s newspaper of record and frenetic Barack Obama cheering section. The other is all too often (although getting better) a paper torn between its liberal reporting staff and its editorial board. We have two regional dailies…but guess what? All follow the same generally liberal line. For this huge metropolitan area that is so diverse, they supply precious little diversity. By merely existing, we supply diversity. I hope you stick with us. I hope that today’s will be the worst edition we put out—since by doing we all get better. Welcome aboard!

Editorial Board

John McCain: McCain's Taxes make sense - Obama's & Clinton's Do Not

You read…You decide.

Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican you might want to know just what the candidates have in mind for ‘our money’.

That's what taxes should be labeled up front..... ‘OUR $’ !

Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election:

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN

15% (no change)

OBAMA

28%

CLINTON

24%

How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN

15% (no change)

OBAMA

39.6%

CLINTON

39.6%

How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama or Clinton become president. The experts predict that "Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit."

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN

(no changes)

Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA

(reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)

Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

CLINTON

(reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)

Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is pretty straight forward.

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN

0%

(No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA

keep the inheritance tax

CLINTON

keep the inheritance tax

How does this affect you? Many families have lost businesses, farms and ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will not only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY BOTH CLINTON AND OBAMA

* New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet

* New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already)

* New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)

* New taxes on retirement accounts

and last but not least....

* New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

Can you afford THIS? You’d have to be a crazy socialist to voluntarily vote for these kind of taxes!

In case you want more information on Obama's tax and spend agenda:

If Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) Could Enact All Of His Campaign Proposals, Taxpayers Would Be Faced With Financing $874.35 Billion In New Spending Over One White House Term:

Updated February 14, 2008: Obama's National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank Will Cost $60 Billion Over Ten Years; Equal To $6 Billion A Year And $24 Billion Over Four Years. Obama: "I'm proposing a National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank that will invest $60 billion over ten years." (Sen. Barack Obama, Remarks On Economic Policy, Janesville , WI, 2/13/08)

Obama's Health Care Plan Will Cost Up To $65 Billion A Year; Equal To $260 Billion Over Four Years. "[Obama] campaign officials estimated that the net cost of the plan to the federal government would be $50 billion to $65 billion a year, when fully phased in, and said the revenues from rolling back the tax cuts were enough to cover it." (Robin Toner and Patrick Healy, "Obama Calls For Wider And Less Costly Health Care Coverage," The New York Times, 5/30/07)

Obama's Energy Plan Will Cost $150 Billion Over 10 Years, Equal To $15 Billion Annually And $60 Billion Over Four Years. (Obama For America, "The Blueprint For Change,"www.barackobama.com, Accessed 1/14/08, p. 25)

Obama's Tax Plan Will Cost Approximately $85 Billion A Year; Equal To $340 Billion Over Four Years. John McCain: McCain's Creedence Clear on the Issues Revival -Giving Us the Unscripted Straight Talk

I never liked paying for a performer who had a cut-and paste show. I remember being dragged to a Neil Diamond concert in the late 1970's at the old Auditorium Theatre here in Chicago.

Neil had a formula 'Hot August Night' or some such nonsense - very loud, tinsel-ly, important and bone-crushingly boring show. I slowed down to sixty MPH and let my date out of my 1967 Rambler American, immediately after Neil's sweat-stained 'Thank You!' never to see the young lady again -'I thought we were going to the Italian Village After?' What we want and what we get are two very different things.

Shortly, there after I took a lovely red-head to Creedance Clearwater Revival fronted by the Straight-as- Calvert's in a Cheap Saloon John Fogerty! Magnificent.
'Born on the Bayou' indeed. I married that delightful young woman.

The DNC performers, Senator Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are giving scripted and pre-packaged Pop Concerts. Huge productions, great expectations - so-what finish.

Now, John McCain has been shouting out 'Stuck in Lodi' again! He is the real agent for change because he gives straight talk the venue it deserves up close and personal.

Granite State Giant and Venture Capitalist Patrick Hynes offered to me:

There is a lot of talk these days about “a different kind of campaign.” And yet very little being offered by our friends on the left seems substantively different from everything they have offered for decades.

Sen. McCain truly is offering a different kind of campaign—one that will take direct voter engagement to an unheard of level.

While some candidates rarely even take questions from the media, Sen. McCain will continue to take question from the people.
From today’s New Hampshire Union Leader:

Speak on it, my Fortunate Son!

Yesterday, Sen. McCain held the first town hall meeting in what is to be an unprecedented presidential campaign centered around coast-to-coast town hall meetings.

Sen. McCain said yesterday that his experience listening to and speaking directly with voters in New Hampshire led him to adopt that format for his national campaign. He wants an unscripted dialog with the American people, including those who disagree with him.

"If you don't have that, I don't think it's legitimate to say you're listening to the people," he told us.

And so New Hampshire has done more than breathe life into McCain's once condition-critical campaign. It has transformed that campaign, and with it the way national presidential politics will be conducted this year (and perhaps thereafter?).

http://www.unionleader.com/article.aspx?headline=McCain+reborn:+Taking+NH+nationwide&articleId=c8b84c62-9e62-4975-9834-fe87d6aa858c

Union Leader: McCain Reborn: Taking NH Nationwide

Editorial

SEN. JOHN McCain's presidential campaign was reborn in New Hampshire . So it is fitting that his general election campaign be launched here, and in true New Hampshire fashion.

How is it that so small a state (only 1.3 million people) could have such a large impact on presidential politics? It is not simply our place in the presidential nomination calendar. After all, Iowa has had a smaller effect.

It is that the political process in New Hampshire is different -- and better -- than the process anywhere else.

Nowhere in America is government more closely controlled by the people. Nowhere in America are the people more widely and directly involved in politics generally and governing specifically.

Consider: At 2.9 million people, Mississippi has more than twice New Hampshire 's population. And yet only 29,700 more people voted in Tuesday's Mississippi presidential primary than voted in January's New Hampshire primary -- 559,242 to 529,542.

Sixty-one percent of New Hampshire 's registered voters -- and more than half the entire adult population -- turned out. Mississippi has more registered voters, 1.78 million, than New Hampshire has residents. But only 31 percent of them voted on Tuesday in an election of real importance.

Sen. McCain does well in New Hampshire because our political process is designed to cut through the fog produced by spin machines and image consultants and put voters in direct contact with the human beings running for the highest office in the land -- and when the voters size up Sen. McCain in person, they see a man they can trust and admire, even if they disagree with him on important issues.

Sen. McCain takes a risk in bringing New Hampshire-style campaigning nationwide. But that is the kind of politician he is. He won't hide behind a phalanx of staffers and consultants. If he can show the American people that strength of character directly, he can win them over, just as he won over New Hampshire .

John McCain: Daily Kos - Why John McCain Will be President

One of the reasons Regular Democrats like me will be voting for John McCain has to do with unbelievable and shameful state of the national Democratic Party. One would think that every Democrat was a loudmouthed smarmy jerk like Bill Maher, or Keith Olbermann.

Not so. Even a solid Democrat like Geraldine Ferraro could be targeted by the morons who post on Daily Kos the Goebbels of Moveon.org and funded by the Magyar Millionaire Stalin George Soros.

Get this -
Ferraro: Give it to the Woman, Not to the Black Guy by DHinMI
Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 07:16:23 AM PDT
The latest in the disgusting story of longtime racist Geraldine Ferraro:

"Sexism is a bigger problem," Ferraro argued. "It's OK to be sexist in some people's minds. It's not OK to be racist."

Hey, former Congresswoman Ferraro, I've got a message for you from the 21st Century: it's not OK to be sexist OR racist. It's not OK to create a hierarchy of persecution and apply it to Democratic politics. It's not OK to imply, as you've seemed to be implying in recent days, that because women supposedly have it harder, that Hillary Clinton should get an easier path or that it's OK to denigrate Barack Obama's achievements by characterizing them as arising from advantages supposedly afforded to African-Americans.

Here's where the goof really lets fly -

Ferraro is playing a feminist George Wallace. Wallace appealed to insecure whites who felt that their struggles and hard work entitled them to live in all white neighborhoods, and elitist judges shouldn't be able to force them to accept black neighbors and integrated schools. Ferraro is trying to appeal to insecure white women who believe they've put in their time and now they're entitled to get their woman president, and nobody should be allowed to take away their presidency and give it to the Black guy who hasn't earned it.

Well heck; take Gerry out back and shoot her Comrade! That's Change for you!

What a clown Opera! Geraldine Ferraro, welcome. You have served your country honorably and this how our Party treats you. Hillary is hitting the silk on you and Obama is sending out his goof ghilies like oxygen deprived clown linked above.

John McCain: Catholics Support John McCain

Yesterday, I remarked that the issue of school choice should be a bell weather for American Catholic support of John McCain's Presidential Candidacy. McCain reflects the attitudes of most Americans and Catholics in particular. Catholics constitute one of the largest voting blocks in the Democratic Party, but many of us feel ignored by the Democratic National Committee and its sharply Left Wing rubrics for candidates: Catholics are Pro Life, want School Choice, an end to Tax strategies that shrink the Middle Class and Catholics support an Honorable end to the War on Global Islamist Terror: in Iraq and around the globe.

Catholics are supporting John McCain. This Catholic Democrat has supported John McCain from the get-go.

John McCain knows from experience what it means when a society tramples on the truth of the value of the human person. He is committed to defending the dignity and value of every person, regardless of their status."

John McCain expressed his deep appreciation and stated, "I want to thank Catholic voters today, who have played a vital role in electing me as the Republican nominee for the presidency. I am humbled by the support of such a diverse group of Catholic leaders who are dedicated to the defense of traditional marriage, advocate for the protection of innocent human life, and share my vision for a stronger, safer and more prosperous America . I stand firmly with those Catholics who believe that human rights are natural rights for all people, in all places, and in all stages of life."

John McCain: School Choice and Hope v. Clinton/Obama/DNC Static Public School Entrallment

The National Democratic Committee and all Candidates are Enthralled by the Public School Lobby - no brag just fact.

Enthrall -1. To hold spellbound; captivate: The magic show enthralled the audience.
2. To enslave.

from Old English - Þræl/slave Bright's Old English Grammar is always a useful tool as it helped me last Good Friday in my assist to Neil Steinberg on the Good Friday Story - godes frias daeg - God's Friday.

There I go again . . .

The DNC and the candidates it anoints pay homage to the Public School Lobby and they are heavier than whale poop with the Democratic National Committee. Most Democrats that I know, my neighbors and friends, would like to see school choice as an option for success. Most of my neighbors and friends are Roman Catholic Democrats - we pay twice for education, once for our kids to attend Catholic Schools and then again through obscene taxes that get soaked up by the monstrously - I can say that - unsuccessful public schools.

The Public School Lobby, especially the two major Teachers Unions, play hardball with every Democratic candidate - especially those who would presume to become National ( House, Senate, Presidency) Candidates.

Now, get this. Everyone is talking about Superdelegates for Obama and Clinton but no one, except David White in his Sunday New York Times op ed piece, is talking about the Public School Lobby as Kingmakers. Get This:

IF the Democratic race is settled at the party’s convention this summer — not unlikely, given Hillary Clinton’s victories over Barack Obama in Ohio and Texas — certain delegate constituencies are going to be the object of much affection from the candidates. Most prominent among these is the delegate and superdelegate bloc affiliated with the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, the nation’s two largest teachers’ unions. In 2004, more than 400 regular delegates to the convention were members of the two unions, making up a group bigger than every state delegation except California’s.

Now, Hold the Phone! They are enthralled.

John McCain is less than enthralled. Me too.

John McCain is for Parental Choice in Schools for theri Children. John McCain is for easing the tax-burden on parents who pay twice. John McCain wants to end the enthrallment of the States to Public School Lobbies and wants greater accountability from schools that soak up tax dollars.

Real Democrats will find john McCain to be more like them than their Presidential Candidates or the Democratic National Leadership.

Click my post title for David White's caveat to voters.

Real Change means Real Choice - School Choice will Set You Free! School Choice means less burden on taxpayers and more Accountability from Public Schools.

End the Enthrallment; Vote for John McCain and School Choice!

Al Sharpton's Popping For Florida Vote Expenses?

Crown Heights Al Sharpton, who came to Chicago, left Chicago, and that mattered how? - and still gets mug time on Fox goofball Bill O'Reilly whenever a bird flies over Al's Bentley, is warning up a plenty!

The Activist Race -baiter who told Jews to pin back their Yarmulkes and get ready to 'get it on,' told Bill-O that there will consequences and repercussions if something is not done about Florida! It was, as per usual with Crown Heights Al, unclear exactly what would come round the corner, if his latest demands, about what I have no idea, are not met! Al seems ready to Jew hunting Florida - he likes that demographic, probably more Jews than Crown Heights! They've been hogging the Holocaust! Al's got to turn up the heat!

“If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house." Rev. Al -

From Rich Lowery:
Those were the immortal words of the Rev. Al Sharpton during the Crown Heights crisis in New York City in 1991. A car driven by a Hasidic Jew had run over a black child in the Brooklyn neighborhood, prompting black-Jewish tensions that eventually spilled over into antisemitic riots. Sharpton's contribution to civic peace was statements like the above, together with such classic anti-Jewish smears as: "Talk about how Oppenheimer in South Africa sends diamonds straight to Tel Aviv and deals with the diamond merchants right here in Crown Heights."

http://www.nationalreview.com/lowry/lowry200312030840.asp

Oh, yeah - this clown needs to be heard! Bill-O more face time!

This from the New York Sun on Bill-O's Comfy Chair for Crown Heights Al:

'. . .If Mr. Obama is denied the nomination because of "back-room deals" made by superdelegates, he said, "you not only would see people like me demonstrating, you may see us talking about whether or not we can support that ticket."

I thought that Barack Obama would be dignified by the honorific SENATOR? Senator Obama, Al; give man his due! Shoot.

'Pin back them Yarmulkes!' Tell Howard Dean that Crown Heights Al and his NAN Network will spring for the votes! Al's ready to pull change out of his deep pockets - He's the Agent of Change . . .and folding money!

Way to go Bill-O.

John McCain: Chicago's South Side Parade March 9, 2008

Many of the Marchers in today's south side parade will be voting for John McCain in November. Senator McCain these are your people. IlliNois McCain Chairman Jim Durkin will be working the crowd all along Western Ave. this cold blustery morning.

From the Official South Side Parade website - click my post title for the full story. Mary Beth Sheehan is the She-Bull of this massive undertaking ( Almost as large as Robert Sheehy & Sons Funeral Homes, but that is another story for another day)- Mary Beth Sheehan could direct a Fortune 500 Company or a small country!

The South Side Irish Parade Committee will hold the 30th Annual South Side Irish Parade on Sunday, March 9, 2008. The parade will step off at 12:00 P.M. sharp from 103rd & Western Ave. PLEASE NOTE that this date is one week earlier than usual due to the fact that Sunday, March 16, 2008 is Palm Sunday.

This is the story of how the South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Parade began. As with many stories told by the Irish, exaggeration is inevitable, however, this story is completely true. The parade was the vision of two best friends, George Hendry and Pat Coakley. Both were raised on the South Side of Chicago, George in the St. Sabina Parish and Pat in the Little Flower parish in the Auburn neighborhood. The two did not meet until their early thirties, when both moved to the Morgan Park community with their young wives. There they became neighbors, best friends and in 1979, co-founders of the South Side Irish Parade.

In the winter of 1979, sitting around the Hendry’s kitchen table enjoying a few beers, George and Pat fondly remembered their experiences at the original South Side Irish Parade (aka the Southtown Parade) that was held on 79th Street. That parade moved downtown in 1960. It was at this time, while they were reminiscing, that George and Pat felt the obligation to create “something” for their children and the children of their friends and “green” neighbors. Nearly twenty years had passed, but now the South Side would rise again with a new parade in a new location for a new generation.

So on a rainy Saturday, March 17, 1979, George and Pat, with the help of their wives, Mary and Marianne (Mernie), gathered 17 children from the West Morgan Park community to march in the first South Side Irish St. Pat’s Parade. The children were the only marchers: Tim Kelly was dressed as St. Patrick; Eileen Hughes was the parade’s first and only queen; a few Boy Scouts, including Jack and George Hendry and Pat and Kevin Coakley, carried the American flag; and the parade’s original float, a baby buggy covered with a box decorated with shamrocks and the 26 county flags of Ireland, was pushed around the 10900 blocks of Washtenaw and Talman. The children were given the moniker “The Wee Folks of Washtenaw and Talman”. The theme of the parade was “Bring Back St. Pat”, which was George and Pat’s way of saying bring back to the South Side the parade they had cherished as children. Notices of the parade which were placed in mailboxes along the “route” invited neighbors to stand on their porches and wave to the marchers. Immediately following the parade, the children were invited to the Hendry’s basement for Kool-aid and Twinkies. Later that evening, the adults continued the party in the Coakley’s basement until the “wee” hours.

Others noticed this small gathering and celebration in the community and so in 1980, the parade moved from the sidewalks to the side streets and began at Kennedy Park. Three hundred participants marched past friendly neighbors watching from their front yards and windows. Marchers included families with wagons, children on decorated bicycles, dogs, and a bag piper. The St. Cajetan School’s band sat in chairs in front of the Kennedy Park field house and played for the gathering crowd. The parade meandered through the neighborhood and ended at the Beverly Bank parking lot, where Terry McEldowney sang Irish songs for the crowd.

It was hard to believe, but the parade was gaining in popularity and George and Mary and Pat and Mernie decided it was time to take the parade to THE STREET. On Sunday, March 15, 1981 the parade would march down Western Ave. for the first time, where it continues to march today. Then-Mayor Jane Byrne would only provide a permit for the southbound lane of Western from 103rd Street to 115th Street, while live northbound traffic whizzed by in the opposite lane. The Chicago Police were ordered not to provide crowd and traffic control, but parade volunteers and a few crossing guards assumed the responsibilities and the parade marched on safely. The 1981 parade was a parade of “firsts” – traditions that continue today and without which the parade just wouldn’t be the parade. This was the year that St. Cajetan Church, the official parish of the parade, would celebrate with a Mass honoring St. Patrick. Following the parade, a party commenced in St. Cajetan’s Memorial Hall. It was named the Post-Parade Party, and the parade trilogy and unofficial motto, which referenced the three successive aspects of each Parade Day, was born: “Pray, Parade, and Party”. Today, many families in the area celebrate the day by attending a special Parade Mass, then gather along Western Avenue to watch the parade, and finally head home to host parties for family and friends. A number of neighborhood families also use this gathering day as an excuse for an annual family reunion. Another 1981 first for the parade was the use of a Grand Marshall. That year, three neighborhood children, Bess Hendry, Annie Coakley and Sean Crowe, were the parade’s first Grand Marshalls. All three were chosen to signify that the parade would be first and foremost a family affair.

With the success of the 1981 parade, it was apparent that George and Pat needed some help. They asked a few friends and local parishioners to get involved, and a committee was formed. Without the help of Fr. Marty O’Donovan, Mike Hayes, Jim Davoren, Bob Rafferty, Paul Poynton, Sean McCarthy, Bill Letz, Jack McNicholas, Dick Norris, Bill Gainer, Jim Sheridan and Bill Wallace in those earlier years, the parade wouldn’t be the success it is today. Currently, there are 26 committee members handling everything from logistics, float entries, sanitation and sponsorship to related events, PR/Media, marshals, bands and merchandising. Today, the South Side Irish Parade is considered the largest neighborhood-based St. Patrick’s Day parade outside of Dublin. It grew from 17 children marching around the block 27 years ago to an event that hosts over 15,000 marchers and 250,000+ spectators each year.

Each year after 1981, the official parade route has been from 103rd & Western to 115th & Western, and each year a Grand Marshall is chosen, often a charitable organization that is dedicated to children. Each year since 2004, the parade has also designated another organization as a Special Honoree, thus enabling the parade to highlight and honor two unique organizations each year.

The South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade was created for Pat and George’s children. Children, family, faith and heritage are what this great parade is all about!

John McCain Beat the Press or A Man for All Snakes on a Plane

This is a screenplay that I have in the works concerning the latest John Mccain 'Rage Against the Machine.' This screenplay is an homage to the genres of the Period Piece Witty Dialogue Epic and the Samuel L. Jackson is In It Movie _ call it

A Man for All Snakes on a Plane:

Interior of the Straight Talk Campaign Plane - McCain - center aisle.

Set on an airplane the NYT Reporter an invited guest of the McCain Campaign queries like a three old asking Why? - Because- Why? -Because - Why? -Because concerning a private conversation and what it betokens:

NYT Reporter: Yet how can this be? Because this silence betokened, nay, this silence was, not silence at all, but most eloquent denial!

Senator John McCain: Not so. Not so, Miss Smartpants. The maxim is "Qui tacet consentire": the maxim of the law is "Silence gives consent". If therefore you wish to construe what my silence betokened, you must construe that I consented, not that I denied.

NYT Reporter: Is that in fact what the world construes from it? Do you pretend that is what you wish the world to construe from it?

Senator John McCain: The world must construe according to its wits; this court must construe according to the law. . . .Enough is enough! I have had it with these mother#$%^ing snakes on this mother#$%^ing plane!

John McCain: Steve Huntley Raises the Bar and few more Questions for Obama

Yesterday, Steve Chapman of the Chicago Tribune presented a 'passive voice' larded attack piece on John McCain. If you take a look at the comments ( including mine) over at the Trib or at Real Clear Politics.com you find that Steve Chapman is roundly and soundly cuffed for his offering - and well he should be.

Chicago journalism's other Steve - Steve Huntley - was one of the last sparks evident in a once great Chicago newspaper. The Chicago Sun Times was commandeered for months by a loopy Progressive agenda that drove a stake through its heart and through those goofy days Steve Huntley offered thoughtful and well-written columns on local and national affairs.

Today, Steve Huntley presents a sharp contrast between John McCain and Barack Obama. Huntley presents the Obama's sophomoric and fleet-footed dash from questions raised about his involvement with indicted bundler Tony Rezko, in Texas last week. Obama could not pry himself away scrutiny quick enough. Contast that with Senator John McCain's open and challenging presence in front of the world media following the New York Times protracted, dated and daffy attempt to smear an American hero.

Click on my post title for Steve Huntley's insightful study of the contrast between Obama, the Rhetorical Bard and Feckless Youth, and John McCain, the Prosaic, Tested and Forthright Leader.

John McCain: Steve Chapman The Parasol Woman Views the Prizefight: Passive Voice & BS

Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda, say the military fruit-salads in Obama's camp in the latest Salon.com - redacting the Salon.com piece is Chicago Tribune's Steve Chapman.

The Salon.com piece is a re-hash of the 'McCain's Rage' straw-dog. Mean People Suck - is a Deadhead bumper sticker. This piece of second guessing on McCain's leadership in support of the Iraq surge has all the snappy zest, spice and Howard Dean Yeeeowwweee as a mouthful of Hellman's Mayo.

http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/03/06/commander_in_chief/

John McCain was in the lead on the need for more troops in Iraq. Like most newspaper readers, I remember that. Ink-slingers think all readers are morons. That is why newspapers are cork-screwing into the ground.

Now,get this snotty clip at John McCain from the parasol twirling Steve Chapman watching the bare-knuckle prize fight from afar:

It's true that eventually, McCain did call for more troops, and eventually, President Bush agreed. Last January, he announced that he was boosting forces to quell violence — while telling the Iraqi government to move promptly toward internal reconciliation and power-sharing. All this would produce a stable, democratic Iraq and "hasten the day our troops begin coming home."
(Empahsis my own)

No, Steve. McCain called for troops. You are slinging more crap than Jack Binyon's Horseshoe. Twirl that Parasol!

As an old English teacher, I tried to get my students to avoid Passive Voice - use active voice kids; people will trust you. Passive voice registers equivocation - bullshit, in south side declarative sentence. Steve lards up on the Passive Voice - the metaphorical parasol shading a milky complexion on a too, too sunny day.

'Lord, the sight those Myrmidons ( people actually involved in . . .something), stripped to the waist, and slugging it out in such a brutish manner, positively gives me the vapors! I swear.'

Miss Scarlet Steve Chapman merely is doing what a thirteen year old boy does when confronted with laziness and sloth - 'I am doing it, Dad!' Uh huh. Got nothin? Passive Voice it! 'I am Trying!; I'm doing more than I can!; I am thinking about it! It was doing me have to death. The Bank account was over drawn by me.'

John McCain is right on The Surge. Just today, I heard WGN radio, a report that troops in Afghanistan were suffering from greater bouts of depression, while troops in Iraq were reporting boosts in morale.

Steve you still have some on your shoes, there son.

John McCain: JohnMcCain Runs the Table Wins -MSNBC Tool Shed Runs Its Mouth and Loses -Again

Oafish Olbermann of MSNBC asked for a stand-in - another Juice Bag!

John McCain again ran the table!

John McCain, whose civil and forthright campaign for the Presidency set the bar for the November contest with the Democratic Nominee, was eloquent, uplifting and commanding.

MSNBC - was loud, obnoxious repulsive. Norah O'Donnell and Chuck Todd should replace the opinionated and self-puffing Olbermann and Matthews. They could set the the tone for an intelligent and welcoming political format.

The New York Times is even irritated:

'on MSNBC, Chuck Todd, NBC’s political director, provided welcome restraint to the bubbly loquacity of Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews . . .'

Olbermann is a Juice Bag - empty calories. MOVEHIMON.org to HBO where the unxious lout can be Bill Maher's Ed McMahon - insulting guests with his bloated self-importance, overplaying his overtures to Moveon.org; being himself.

John McCain: Seventy Three Year Old Playboy Bunny Mocks McCain Heroism and Patriotism

“Suppose John McCain had been Joan McCain and Joan McCain had got captured, shot down and been a POW for eight years. [The media would ask], ‘What did you do wrong to get captured? What terrible things did you do while you were there as a captive for eight years?’” Steinem said, to laughter from the audience.

McCain was, in fact, a prisoner of war for around five-and-a-half years, during which time he was tortured repeatedly. Referring to his time in captivity, Steinem said with bewilderment, “I mean, hello? This is supposed to be a qualification to be president? I don’t think so.”

Steinem’s broader argument was that the media and the political world are too admiring of militarism in all its guises.

“I am so grateful that she [Clinton] hasn’t been trained to kill anybody. And she probably didn’t even play war games as a kid. It’s a great relief from Bush in his jump suit and from Kerry saluting.”

To the Observer, Steinem insisted that “from George Washington to Jack Kennedy and PT-109 we have behaved as if killing people is a qualification for ruling people

Let's see here . . . Septuagenarian Playboy Bunny mocks John McCain's Service.

John McCain would not knock Gloria's service -

'Hey, Stems! Wiggle that Cotton-tail over here with two packs of Luckies, Four beers, a bump of Lord Calvert and a promise not to grab my wallet off the dresser. You got room in that Bunny Suit for a Sailor and his First Mate? You bet,Stems. Here's a double saw-buck, Stems - go to Vassar.'

That Old Trim served one too many cocktails in way too tight satin and nine inch heels. Hef has yet to make a statement. Let's see . . . Hillary has locked in the solid support of Willie Cunningham, Bunny Steinem, Anne Coulter, . . . she can't lose.

Free Mike Mette! Click My Post Title and Sign Petition to Governor of Iowa

Last year, Judge Monica Ackley sentenced Chicago Police Officer Michael Mette to five years in prison for the crime of defending himself from a drunken lout with Dubuque political clout after repeated attempts by Officer Mette to disengage from confrontation.

The Chicago Tribune's John Kass* is the only Chicago Newspaper Professional to take up his cause. Other so-called journalists, who hleped make Chicago a Thug Comfort Zone by shilling for radical Leftiest lawyers and active Gang-bangers, ignored a true story of injustice.

Here is what John Kass wrote in his January 4, 2008 piece:

The Mette family also wrote letters to Illinois politicians, and the captains of clout turned away. Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (D-Daddy will make her governor) and U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-the powerful one) told Mette's family they couldn't get involved.

Meanwhile, the drunk who attacked Mette is fine, an excellent golfer and apparently still partying it up, although the drunk did get a DUI after Mike's hometown conviction in Dubuque.

And Mike? He began serving his sentence in the fall and spent Christmas and New Year's behind bars, sentenced to 5 years for throwing that one punch, according to the sentencing judge's ruling.

Chicago Police Officers, their families and their neighbors have tried repeatedly to get gutless politicians to act on Mike Mette's behalf, other than Cook County States Attorney Dick Devine none have even indicated a scintilla of interest in Mike's case - Self Interest seems the first Rule of Politicians. Aside from Dick Devine the other 'big names' in politics went to ground. Shameful. Gutless. Typical.

Call on the Governor of Iowa, Chet Culver - sign the petition. Send a message. Free Mike Mette!

* ABC's TV Reporter Chuck Goudie did a great job of bringing this story to light.

Huge hat Tip to Second City Cop, Second City Sarge and Leo Memorial for keeping this Injustice to Mike Mette in the Public Eye - well done, Officers!

John McCain: Pope Endorses McCain - To Offset Any, All and Future Denunciations

The Pope, a rabbi, a blond, a lawyer, a gay man, an Irishman, a Pole, a Puerto Rican, and a black man all walk into a bar. "What is this," queries the barman, "some kind of a joke?!?"

An Irishman walks out of a bar...

Jesus walks into a bar, slaps three nails down on the counter, and asks the bartender, "Can you put me up for the night?"

WILLIAM HENRY POPE -- The name, Pope, is an early English surname of the class whose origin is found in nicknames. It signifies literally 'the pope', and was applied at the beginning of the surname era to one of austere, ascetic or ecclesiastical bearing. Pope is derived from the post classical Latin, papa, meaning father. The name is its present form first appears in England registers in the year 1273.

Arms - Argent two chevrons gules on a chief of the second an escallop or.

One of the foremost figures on the business horizon of New England during the past half century, an eminently successful business man and manufacturer, was the late William Henry Pope, who was for several decades identified with a number of the largest milling enterprises in Rhode Island.

To him belongs the distinction and honor of having developed and practically established the town of Esmond, R. I. That he was the prime factor in its existence is evident from the fact that upon his retirement from business the enterprise and industry which had been its more prominent feature fell off to a marked degree. Mr. Pope was one of the foremost business men of his day, directing enormous banking and railroad interests.

William Henry Pope was born in Enfield, Hampshire county, Mass., July 18, 1840, son of Icabod and Serena (Woods) Pope. Icabod Pope was a prominent manufacturer of England, and was for several years justice of peace in the town. His wife, Serena (Woods) Pope, was a sister of Josiah Woods, founder and donor of Woods Library, Amherst College; she died in the year 1846. Their son received the advantages of an excellent education, and until he reached the age of fifteen years attended a private school at Enfield. He then went to Pawtucket, R. I., where he resided for a short time with his aunt, Mrs. Frank Pratt. Later, while residing in Providence with an uncle, he attended private schools in that city, and on completing his preliminary studies entered the A. G. Scholfield Business College. Following his graduation from this institution he was employed by various firms in the city. In 1863 he became connected with Albert Gallup, then head of Gallup Brothers, cotton manufacturers, in the office of the firm, and continued in this capacity until the removal of Mr. Gallup to New York City. During the period spent with this firm, Mr. Pope familiarized himself thoroughly with the details of cotton manufacturing, and the practical side of business management, serving, as it were, an apprenticeship to the cotton manufacturing trade. He possessed considerable genius in this line, and in his connection with Gallup Brothers amassed a wealth of information and experience which later stood him in good stead in his own ventures. After the removal of Mr. Gallup to New York, Mr. Pope entered into the independent manufacturing of cotton, after a short period spent in the cotton brokerage business. After 1871 he entered this field, and accepted the agency for the Robert Watson Mills at Willimantic. In 1878 his success in the brokerage business made it possible for him to engage in cotton manufacturing, and he purchased the mill and mill village owned by the Smithfield Manufacturing Company at Allenville, in the town of Smithfield, R. I.

Much older than the 71 year old Naval Aviator, Vietnam POW, Torture Survivor, Republican Conservative Survivor, Presidential Nominee and American Hero, Pope endorsed John McCain in order to stave off any and all future denunciations - as there are and have been misuses of the word as a noun and a verb by Progressive and Conservative Stalinists of both Republican and Democratic Parties:

BTW - I am Catholic and I am voting for John McCain; so are two of my three kids.

From the Catholic Dictionary:
Denunciation
Denunciation (Latin denunciare) is making known the crime of another to one who is his superior. The employment of denunciation has its origin in the Scriptures. Christ ordains (Matthew 18:15-17), "If thy brother shall offend against thee, go, and rebuke him between thee and him alone. If he shall hear thee thou shalt gain thy brother. And if he will not hear thee, take with thee one or two more: that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may stand. And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican". As the object of this denunciation was the bettering of one's neighbour, by admonition, not vindictive punishment, it has received the name of charitable or evangelical denunciation. The term paternal correction is also applied to it. ( Emphasis My Own)

After the Church had obtained an official status before the world, it built up a process of criminal law, and judicial denunciation took the place of evangelical. The difference consists in this, that the judicial declaration is made not merely for the reformation, but also for the punishment of the guilty person. By ordinary process of law, it is an accuser who evokes the dormant power of the judge. If the charge be false, such accuser is obliged to sustain the punishment that would have been inflicted on the guilty party. In modern ecclesiastical law proceedings, however, this law of reprisals has gone into desuetude, and in diocesan courts the promotor fiscalis takes the place of the accuser. The difference between the accuser and denouncer is that the latter does not assume the obligation of proving the charge which he brings, and so is not amenable to the law of risks or retaliation. To avoid, however, the multiplication of unfounded charges, a denouncer whose accusation can not be proved, is ordinarily suspended from his benefice and dignities until it is made manifest that his denunciation did not proceed from malice. If the person denounced be declared judicially innocent of the crime laid to him, then the denouncer must make oath that he acted in good faith in bringing the charges. It is allowed to the denouncer to appear also as a witness in the trial. The person denounced is, by that very fact, considered to have suffered in his good name and as a consequence he becomes incapable for a year of receiving any sacred order or benefice, unless he be found innocent. It is to be remarked that denunciation is not supposed to take place until private admonitions have been tried fruitlessly. Denunciation in the strict sense of the law has practically gone in into desuetude, and its place is taken by a simple statement to a superior who has the right of proceeding canonically against delinquents, without subjecting the informer to the obligations incumbent on denouncers.

There is a special obligation imposed by a decree of the Holy Office to denounce heretics, magicians, those who have abused the Sacrament of Penance (see SOLICITATION) and others guilty of similar crimes to the Inquisition (see INQUISITION). Where Catholics, however, live in places where they are mixed with heretics, they are not bound to denounce the latter. The term denunciation is also applied to matters connected with the Sacrament of Matrimony (see BANNS). Finally, as to the obligation of denouncing transgressors, every person is bound to do so, when he can fulfil the duty without grave detriment to himself and with corresponding utility to society or individuals. In certain cases only, is denunciation strictly prescribed, as in those relating to matrimonial impediments, to abuse of the confessional, and to the names of leaders of secret societies.

Catholic Wild Bill Donahue! Take note - Where Catholics, however, live in places where they are mixed with heretics, they are not bound to denounce the latter. You can not denouce down, Bill. Only up. If a crumb is louse of the first order to begin with, how in God's name can one denounce him? His very existence is denunciation aplenty! Does Calypso Louie need a denunciation? Heck no! Pre-school kids know that Al Sharpton is a master race-baiter and Anne Coulter a skinny blond! We hold these truths to be self evident, as Al Gore will have said!

So, it is with the Texas Know-Nothing Goofball; Calypso Louis Farrakhan; Pastor Wright; most people who still talk to the Clintons and Willie Cunningham - let's have a moratorium on Denunciations - that was Joe Stalin's Shtick.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalin#Purges_and_deportations

It's Politics, Boys and Girls! Now, once the candidate moves from politics to Governance -then, we can all start squeaking like the low-talkers on NPR and the Loudmouths on Talk Radio.

A man walks into a bar with an alligator. "Do you serve lawyers in here?" the man inquires. "Sure do!" replies the bartender. "Great!" says the man. "I'll have a Coors Light, and how 'bout a lawyer for my 'gator."

Let's get serious, here!
