France - A Preview of Obama Deuxième

The new president is expected to be sworn in on May 15. Hollande will travel to Berlin shortly thereafter to challengeGermany's focus on austerity policies and press new ideas for stimulating growth as fears about the euro zone's debt crisis resurface following an inconclusive election in Greece.  - Reuters 4:36 a.m. CDTMay 7, 2012

From May 15th, when Frankie Hollande is sworn in as Frog One, until you punch a hole in the ballot for President on November 6th, France will show you exactly what an Obama Second Term will look like.

Here is just a taste -  "In every capital, beyond the heads of state and government, there are people who have found hope thanks to us, who are looking to us and want to put an end to austerity."

Put on them eatin' pants! We are investin' up a storm!  No, those are my words translated from the Foucaultian French. Monsewer Hollande's economic adviser cautioned exuberant cafe sitters, students and brooding intellectuals that the new team was not coming in to power to 'hand out money' (Reuters).

Not just yet, anyway.  The new leftist government will be required to go to Berlin and guilt the Germans into a bailout Everyone! Frankie Hollande won by trashing not only the flamboyant Sarkozy, but also Frau Merkel.  Frankie Hollande, Mr. Normal, was less than courtois  with regard to Frau Merkel. Not only that the conservative party that undermined the moderate Sarkozy led by The Front National (FN) of Mme. Le Pen was tagged as  ensacheuses de thé mob of 'designer fascists' racists, anti-Woman Catholics, and country bumpkins.

Francois Hollande's government is secularist, abortion friendly, illegal immigrant happy, and tax daffy.  President Obama finally has a kindred spirit on the World Stage - for a couple of months any, as French Governments go quicker than a mooch's memory.

Like the Obama Hollywood Regime, the Socialists in France gut-stab their enemies from behind.  Then try to make it seem to be a high-minded activity.  Here in Chicago, in the coming two weeks we will get a look at French Socialism. President Francios Hollande will come to Chicago on May 20th along with the anachists, faux-labor activists, goofs, and tire fire addicts joining local fruit-cake Andy Thayer's March.

French just blew off there toes electing a government as stupidly backward as old Leon Blum's.  I am reminded of the 1936 Leon Blum victory from William Schirer's  Collapse of the Third Republic.    Blum was an MSNBC dream.  He increased wages, cut work hours, gave everyone a two week paid vacation, increased public service union membership from 1 million to 5 million members and France welcomed Hitler to Paris four years later

France now is a preview of an Obama Second Term.

Chen Guangcheng and the Centered People Who Help Me

Attorney, journalist and abortion foe Christine Flowers writes a powerful piece about Chinese hero Chen Guangcheng . . .after I shoot my flannel-mouth off.

I spend my days with very centered people:  the old homeostasis, 98.6, the Golden Mean, the Nicomachean Ethics and all that jazz.   What gives us our center? Gravity, the laws of physics, push-me-pull you, experience, judgement, understanding working in harmony, a good breakfast, a light lunch and a sensible dinner followed by a nice trot, or amble, the dial set at the center and a good 7-8 hours of shut-eye for the absolute basics. Beyond the fundamental needs and realities, spirited centered people give us our balance.

Yesterday, as is my routine, I prayed ( Memorare & Novena to the Little Flower, stretched my once nimble and heroically chiseled muscles, corded sinews and toned epidermis in what passes for exercise, performed my morning ablutions ( Sh,Sh & Sh'd) donned day-task appropriate but elegant and raffish attire, looked in on my three sleeping off-spring, read, wrote and got out into God's glorious world.  I smoked the first of my daily five Marlboro (red) Regulars and scanned the swiftly Easterly exiting cloud masses of the departing warm front, pitched the butt into the alley storm sewer and mounted my Malibu for the visit to Karim's Dunkin Donuts at 104th & Western Aveneue.

Dunkin Donuts has been my venue for coffee these last months as a once convivial and lively morning Salon has evaporated.  Many of my Kean Gas Coffee Colleagues have retired, emptied the nest and moved to the south Loop.  Dunkin Donuts offers a far, far tastier 20 ounces of coffee and is well worth the price doubling.  Karim is a native Moroccan gentleman who with his third shift bride works seven day a week.  Karim is the American work ethic writ large. Dunkin Donuts is situated just east of the CTA/PACE bus stop 49A/349.

I arrive shortly after Karim opens and purchase an extra-large coffee and cream that will go with me to Leo, a small of the same that I will savor on the spot and strawberry frosted donut for my lady friend Cameron.  I drive Cameron's mother to the CTA terminal at 79th & Western. Cameron's mom, Kim, is a lovely thirty-something African American single mom who takes two to three buses to and from work at Illinois Medical Center, where Kim works the food service. Cameron is in third grade at Kellog CPS and waits the beginning of her school day at Small Stride Academy in the company of Lois, an African American woman known to the DD crowd as Lou. Lou shepherds Cameron, while Kim public transports herself to and from work.  I noticed Kim waiting for the bus during Chicago's most inclement of weather some time ago. There is no shelter from rain, snow, ice and wind at 104th Street and the PACE bus is all too often train delayed in Blue Island. I offered my services.

Kim and Cameron arrive shortly after Lou and I have discussed the goings-on of the day prior, current and to be.  We are always joined by two retired African American Streets and San workers, Bill and Al, Sgt. Pallasch of District 22 CPD, an shift-determined number of cops and fireman, a pretty nurse at Christ Advocate, a math teacher who travels to Barrington each morning, and Terry Cox, a Manchester born Irish American plumber with a gorgeous wife and  three little  boys.

Cameron is dressed each and every morning like she had an afternoon casting call for a new Disney series.  Cameron is obviously very well loved, nurtured, fed, corrected, supported and schooled. Kim works for salary that is more than likely just a above minimum wage and rents in Beverly just west of Vincennes Ave.  Kim has an older daughter attending Morgan Park High School as well. Kim cares for her children and provides a nice home and a decent education for the girls on a very modest salary.  Kim balances time and budget.  She is saving to buy a car.

I drive Kim to 79th & Western each weekday morning and watch her cross that very busy intersection and humble myself solid.  That is a heroic woman.

Yesterday, I opened Leo High School at 79th & Sangamon, while Kim rode the CTA to work and disappeared from day, and welcomed the two women who work our cafeteria a half hour later- Hi, Ladies!  " Hi, Hickey, it's Friday, Praise Jesus!  Seniors got Prom."  They are Kim.

I work on my stuff -grant research, Vanguard estate forms, in-house memos, Alumni e-mails and invitations to an upcoming visit by Cardinal George on May 11th.

Leo's volume increases with each and every young man, teacher, and staff member adding to the centered activities. A football coach from South Dakota State University asks me about one of our juniors, " Can he handle going out of state?"

This kid is seventeen years old, Hollywood Handsome, 6'4" of sculpted scholar/athlete and three letter man annually.

This kid was raised by a single mom and squad of Aunts, raised his reading abilities from the public school 5th grade level in his freshman year, avoided the GDs, Vice Lords, Stones, 4 Corner Hustlers and other affiliated losers like I do hard work, lifts twice his weight every day at every station in weight room, is courtly with all women and respectful of slower, goofier and less athletic schoolmates and maintains a 3.1 GPA; yeah, I think he might do fine.

My President, the best prose writer alive, Dan McGrath and I have a 2:30 P.M. appointment with Mr. Matt Simon of the Helen V. Brach Foundation at 55 West Wacker.  Dan directed me to take invitations to Cardinal's Visit over to the 6th ( Gresham) CPD District at 77th & Halsted and another to CFD House 129 (Truck 50) at 81st & Ashland - these Chicago heroes are a huge part of Leo High School. Every morning CPD Gresham watch that Leo students arrive safely and also notice if one or two of our lads might decide to lunch al fresco at Subway, or JJJ Fish on Halsted during the school day. CFD teams visit when alarms go off accidentally, or ante-examinationally and care for kids who get hurt in gym classes, or being adolescent males with too much sugar.  I did and returned to Leo.

At 1:30 P.M.,  Dan and I drove downtown to the Brach Foundation.  We met with Matt Simon, President of the charity and reported on our progress for a good hour. Matt gave Leo a check for $ 25,000 that will assist Leo men get a quality Catholic education.  Most young Leo men are not Catholic, in fact more than a few are devout Nation of Islam pilgrims. One of the most centered of graduating seniors is young man by the name of Hakim - blessed with two parents, a deep religious faith and  a powerful work ethic. Hakim will part Leo High School with a full scholarship to University of Central Michigan.

When we got back, Dan went to St. Laurence HS to watch our track team compete for the Catholic League Championship and then he would stop by the senior prom.  I had family stuff to do. My youngest is going to prom tonight.

These activities with centered people are what the gift of life is all about.  I am blessed.  I often do not live up to those blessings and others suffer.  I try.  BFD.  Others do and that is what keeps me in awe of Life.  This past week I wrote about Chen Guangcheng and his fight against forced abortions and horrific government-centered point of view that I fear is becoming much too strong in America.

If I have not bored a hole through you, my friend, Christine Flowers, a Philadelphia attorney, journalist and fearless abortion foe, wrote this today  ( full text with my own emphases).

There is a man in China who is blind, but who sees with a clarity that shames so many 'sighted' Americans.  His name is Chen Guangcheng, and he's a self-taught lawyer who has waged a courageous battle against his country's 'one-child' policy.
That policy, which violates every principle of human dignity recognized by the civilized world (to which China does not belong) forces Chinese women to abort any child after their firstborn, doing what some in this country feel is justified:  controlling the population in order to conserve our precious and limited natural resources.
The fact that the most precious natural resource we have is our children is irrelevant, or at most annoying, to those who believe that abortion is a fundamental right.
Vice President Joe Biden once indicated that he 'understood' the one-child policy.  That was an amazingly tone deaf comment, even for this sad son of Delaware.
Most reasonable people understand that forcing a woman to sacrifice her fertility to the utilitarian desires of an oppressive and evil regime is grounds for rebellion, revolution and in the case of Chen Guangcheng, a grant of political asylum.
Hillary Clinton and our State Department *are straddling a tightrope between what is right, and what is politically expedient.  They have not confirmed that this Chinese hero will be granted refuge in a country that says it cares about the rights of women.
And how do we know that it cares about women's rights?
Well, our President took great pains to defend the honor of a well-heeled Georgetown Law Student named Sandra Fluck was who was called a mean name by a radio host.  He telephoned her personally to make sure that the lady who described subsidized birth control as a 'fundamental right' could buy that IUD or those monthly pills with her head held high.
It's so good to know that this country puts such a high premium on the egos of women who don't want to pay for their own birth control.
It would be better to know that it cares even more about a man who has sacrificed his life, his safety and his family's future so that unborn women can be free from the bonds of tyranny.
Christine Flowers is very centered person and I am proud to know her.  Her words mirror what I experience from centered people every day, what judge to be the human qualities that defend and glorify the life we share and understand the obligations to maintain centered focus on first principles.
Christine Flowers, Chen Guangcheng, Karim, Cameron, Lou, Sgt. Pallasch, Terry Cox, the Leo Family, Dan McGrath, and the cops and fireman who keep a watchful eye on their precious lives center me.

Thank you all.

*The celebrated deal that would have ensured that blind dissident Chen Guangcheng would stay in China began to dissolve publicly with a tweet: “GUANGCHENG TALKED TO ME. WHAT MEDIA REPORTED IS WRONG.”
The unsettling Twitter message from Beijing activist Zeng Jinyan began a firestorm of debate over whether Chen had been coerced into the deal with threats to his family, an alarming idea that gutted the most important promise behind the agreement -- that Chen would be kept safe.
Zeng also said Chen really said he wanted to “see” U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, not “kiss” her, upending a widely reported remark that had seemed to show the dramatic story coming to a happy ending. Other Chinese activists soon followed, sharing their own accounts of what Chen had said.
Foreign reporters contacted Chen via telephone and found him frightened and wanting to leave China. Two days later, plans were in the works for Chen to come study at an American university, as U.S. officials scrambled to rework the initial deal, which was excoriated by human rights groups and Republican critics.
The uproar put Clinton, who has been lauded by staffers as the “godmother of 21st century statecraft” for embracing Twitter and other digital tools, on the flip side of social media. Thanks to Twitter, the "air of privileged secrecy" around diplomacy is becoming harder than ever to maintain, New America Foundation senior fellow Emily Parker argued in the New Republic. L.A. Times

Obama's Debt to Abortion Shapes Chen's Fate

The Obama administration has hired Planned Parenthood's spokesman for a communications position that will likely involve hot-button issues like abortion and contraception.
Tait Sye has accepted a job with the Department of Health and Human Services after heading the organization's press office for four years, Politico reported Friday afternoon. The job involves assisting with communications for the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. April 20, 2012 - while Hillary Clinton and Timmy Geitner were packing for the trip to Red China.

"I felt great pressure to leave." - Chen Guangcheng

I'll bet you did. Can you imagine the pressure the Obama White House had been under from Planned Parenthood, NARAL, NOW, SEIU and the national abortion lobby of our Progressive Dowager Class?

President Obama has played Chen in the same way that he had as a Springfield, Illinois State Senator.  Barack H. Obama took the path most taken by millennium Democrats - the path of least resistance to abortion.

I listened to and read the words on many commentators, pundits, spokesmen and spin-merchants since last week's heroic flight by the blind Chinese Abortion Foe to the sanctuary of the United States Embassy in Red China.   They spoke of the delicate balance and nuanced brinkmanship of our stripped-britches pros, Hillary Clinton and tax-cheat Timmy Geitner as they brokered loans from the Red Chinese and asked for more post-election "flexibility and patience" from Putin in selling Poland and the Czech Republic down the Yangtze. No one mentioned that American resolve and foreign policy is determined by Planned Parenthood.

Chen Guangcheng  ran to the United States - to the United States Embassy.  In no time at all the AP crowed that Hillary Clinton scored concessions for the dissident.  Within hours, that narrative shifted.  It continues to shift.

This Chinese dissident is not your standard issue, DNC approved, stand in front of a Commie tank rebel rouser. Chen Guangcheng fights Red China's Abortion Mandate.  He is a blind but wild eyed Pro Lifer! Mr. Chen is on the wrong side of "War on Women."

If you really want to know how Chen Guangcheng , his wildly endangered  family, friends and fellow dissidents will face the future, ask the White House for its e-mails, phone records, visitor lists and scheduled meetings with Cecile Richards, Planned Parenthood, NARL, NOW, or any one of abortion industry Dowagers.

Mr. Chen, I believe that President Obama will, or should, "feel great pressure to leave."

Planned Parenthood Wants Chen Guangcheng in China - No Abortion Dissent Here As Well

.
(AP) BEIJING - The blind Chinese activist at the center of a six-day diplomatic tussle between the U.S. and China said he fears for his family's lives and wants to leave China, hours after American officials announced an agreement with Beijing that was to guarantee his safety. . . Hours later, however, a shaken Chen told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from his hospital room that U.S. officials told him the Chinese authorities would have sent his family back to his home province if he remained inside the embassy. He added that, at one point, the U.S. officials told him his wife would have been beaten to death.

"I think we'd like to rest in a place outside of China," Chen said, appealing again for help from U.S. officials. "Help my family and me leave safely."

Larger Issues before the President with regard to Red China, Mr. Chen, can't you see that?

Planned Parenthood's President and his State Department are not going to do tricks for Chen Guangcheng.

Almost immediately after the AP reported that Hilary Clinton had moved heaven and earth to nail down "concessions" for the anti-abortion hero and his family, it was learned that the "concessions" were all on Chen. He could do as ordered or his wife and kids would be beaten to death by the Woman's Health Advocates of Red China. He conceded to leave the sanctuary of the US Embassy.

Planned Parenthood's first and God willing only Chief Executive will not do a thing to help an abortion dissident.  Wrong Dissidence there Chen.  Now, if you had pooped on a Chicago Squad Car, aided Hamas to get more rockets, busted Starbuck windows, or helped abort a child, everything would be just jake.

Team Obama SEIU
You see not only does President Obama owe Red China $ .40 on every Yankee Dollar, but he also owes  Cecile Richards and Dowagers of Planned Parenthood. Barack Obama is in the White House due to the massive support, financial and moral, of Planned Parenthood and its symbiotic relationship with Andy Stern and Anna Burger's SEIU - old China hands.
SEIU Mandarin Anna Burger and the Progressive Red Abortion Dude

SEIU's Mandarins, Andy Stern and Anna Burger spent a great deal of time in Red China prior to the 2008 Campaign. Not only that Planned Parenthood Dowager  Cecile Richard happens to be married to a former SEIU Mandarin Kirk Adams.

Fighting for an abortion opponent is no where on either organization's 'to-do' list.

China has a One Child Mandate, that VP Joe Biden fully appreciates, because he and President Obama appreciate the power of Planned Parenthood, SEIU and NOW here in American.  Planned Parenthood is fighting to make America as Progressive as Red China through government mandated slaughter - just like China.  Chen fought the law and the law won.

He is not alone.  When the AP crowed that Secretary of State Hilary Clinton nailed concessions, another woman reported that everything was not exactly Peking Duck Soup.

This woman is a beautiful, courageous and endagered young hero.  She is now off the grid. Her name is He Peirong.

Jill Stanek, and American woman of equal conviction and beauty, reported on the consequences of Clinton's concessions. Occupy a moment with a story of genuine courage and conviction:

He Peirong is a petite woman with a spine of steel. I know her because she spearheaded the movement to free Chen Guangcheng inside China, while I have played a similar role in the U.S. and Europe. That’s where the similarity ends. I have advocated for Chen in complete safety. Peirong, however, has been beaten and detained repeatedly for this extremely dangerous undertaking. Now, she is detained again, for rescuing Chen.

How did Chen escape? The Chinese Communist Party clamped down on him as hard as it could. His house was surrounded by 66 guards working in three shifts – 22 guards every eight hours. His village was sealed off by yet more guards. His phone, computer and television were confiscated. He was completely shut off from the outside world. Plus he was sick and injured from all the beatings.

According to Peirong, Chen spent months on his back, pretending to be near death, so that his guards would relax their vigilance. Then on April 22, with exquisite timing, he scaled a wall and ran for his life, taking several wrong turns and falling into a river because of his blindness. Peirong drove 20 hours to meet Chen and fooled the village guards into letting her in. She disguised herself as a courier. Then she drove Chen another eight hours – still wet from his fall in the river – to safety in Beijing. Their plan was so masterfully executed that the authorities did not realize Chen was gone for four days.

Once authorities discovered that Chen was missing, the reprisals began. The Chinese Communist Party violently detained Chen’s older brother and nephew, and his wife, children and mother are at risk as well.

As news of Chen’s escape was breaking, I skyped with Peirong on and off all Thursday night from Dublin, where I had testified about Chen at the Irish Parliament. Peirong was alone and worried – about Chen and his family, and about her own safety. Peirong knew that the price of securing Chen’s freedom might be her own.
At about 5:00 a.m. Dublin time, I skyped Peirong one last time and she did not answer. She had been detained, and no one has heard from her since. We don’t know if Peirong is being tortured or whether her detention will last days, months or years.

In pressing for Chen’s freedom, let us also press for the freedom of his rescuer, He Peirong, a hero in her own right. She stood up for Chen during his time of greatest need. The least we can do is stand by her as she pays a terrible price for her courage.

These heroic people risk their lives for the unborn against a Progressive tyranny.

We are blessed. All we need to do is vote in November. You can decide to make America as Progressive as Red China, or you can do the right thing.  Make damn sure that you do.

Gosh, Obama Got Yamamoto as Well! Pearl Harbor Avenged!

The New York Times of May 21, 1943:

Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, Commander in Chief of the com-bined Japanese Fleet, who reportedly boasted he would dictate peace terms to the United States from a seat in the White House, was killed during April "while engaged in combat with the enemy" aboard a warplane, Japanese Imperial Headquarters announced in a communique broadcast domestically this morning by the Tokyo radio.
"Gosh," said President Roosevelt upon hearing the news. The Times summarized Yamamoto's life and role in the war:
As Commander in Chief of the Fleet, Admiral Yamamoto had ultimate responsibility for the treacherous attack on Pearl Pearl Harbor by the Japanese Fleet Air Arm while diplomatic negotiations were going on in Washington on Dec. 7, 1941.

By the next day, people were already speculating as to how he died. The Times ran an article the next day highlighting the possibility of suicide, quoting Robert Bellaire, a United Press reporter:

'It may have been hara-kiri. Yamamoto frequently said that he would rather take his own life than lose any Japanese territory.' (NYT, May21, 1943)
Nope. The Man Who Planned and Bombed Pearl Harbor was killed by Army Pilots using intelligence that Navy Code Breakers provided. Long story.

Last May, Osama bin Laden was killed by Navy Seal Team 6 in a daring raid of his rat-hole in Pakistan with the    approval of our Commander in Chief - President Barack Obama.

Immediately, White House and Obama Campaign Auxiliary compared the raid with the attack on Adm. Yamamoto - Jonathan Alter* in May of 2011 and David Corn this week.  Lask night MSNBC house-goofball Chris Matthews compared the President to Henry V.

FDR ordered the attack on Adm. Yamamoto, the Pearl Harbor mastermind. The raid conducted by Army pilots using Navy intelligence was a success. Army pilot Thomas Lamphier is credited with killing Yamamoto on April 18, 1943.

FDR, reacted to the news of the death of Yamamoto with this statement - "Gosh." The news reported only that the Japanese admiral was dead.

FDR said nothing more about it. He was elected in a landslide in 1944, though he made no mention of "getting the Man who Got Pearl Harbor."

Obama has doing a Mexican hat-dance around Bin Laden's turban for a year.

See you in November, BHO.

Other thinks so too.

On April 18, 1943, a Japanese airplane carrying Admiral Isokoro Yamamoto, the architect of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, was ambushed and shot down by U.S. war planes. On May 21, the news of Yamamoto’s death was reported as a secondary item on page 1 of the New York Times, below the banner headlines of other war news and reports about U.S. potato crops. The announcement came not from the president, but from the FCC, which had picked up confirmation of Yamamoto’s death on Radio Tokyo. There was no national celebration, and no “victory lap” by president Franklin Roosevelt, who never tried to take personal credit for any of the other military victories of World War II – as though he were a publicity-hungry former community organizer desperate for the glory which other men earned at the risk of their lives.  - FRANK SALVIDIO, West Springfield

Planned Parenthood & NOW Will Not Allow Obama to Speak for Chen

Chen Guangcheng with his wife and baby.

A blind man sees more than an election.  A blind man sees more than polls and PAC dollars, Hollywood bundlers, and the New York Times.  A blind man sees Life.

A blind man will dangle in China because there is absolutely no way the Dowagers who operate America's abortion mills and buy politicians like Louis Vutton accessories are going to allow their White House to do anything to help the blind Chinese hero who sought sanctuary in the U.S. Embassy after fighting Planned Parenthood's model government in Red China.

This man is destined to be collateral damage in the Progressive War on Life.  President Obama chose sides years ago right here in Illinois, which is not yet as Progressive as Red China.

President Obama is Planned Parenthood's investment in government.  They paid cash money money to help bring this compliant and wildly ambitious man into the White House.  Get ready for every excuse short of Kathleen Sebelius is busy.

Chen Guangcheng will dangle.

Chen Guangcheng is a heroic man:

A blind, self-educated lawyer who brought down the wrath of Chinese security agencies by campaigning against forced abortions and sterilizations, he spent four years in prison and additional time under house arrest. That ended when he managed to escape under cover of darkness and, with help from confederates, made his way to Beijing, more than 300 miles away. He then reportedly went to theU.S. Embassy and was granted shelter. . . .Most gruesome is family planning agencies' practice of dragging pregnant women out of their homes to have their fetuses destroyed, as part of the government's long-standing one-child policy. Forced abortions have occurred as late as nine months into a pregnancy.

The victims may also have IUDs inserted without their consent to prevent future pregnancies. The advocacy group All Girls Allowed says these atrocities help explain why China is the only nation on Earth where women are more likely to commit suicide than are men.

Chen's crime was to publicize this savagery by filing a class-action lawsuit on behalf of women subjected to it. He was jailed for more than four years for "disturbing public order" and upon his release, he and his family were placed under strict house arrest, deprived of visitors.

Given this record, it would be unconscionable for President Barack Obama to agree to surrender Chen to the Chinese without ironclad guarantees of his (and his family's) freedom and safety — assurances that the Chinese would be loath to give. Chen, for his part, is said to prefer to stay in China.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-china-0501-jm-20120501,0,4569020.story

He'll stay to be sure.

Hilary Clinton and Tim Geitner are in Red China to ask for more loans in order to "invest" here at home.  The Obama White House owes Planned Parenthood and takes loans from the Progressive Red Chinese.

President Obama can order the Navy Seals to take out Bin Laden, but he will dance to Planned Parenthood's symphony of slaughter.

President Obama is a celebrity, but no hero.

Mr. Chen Guangcheng has more balls than a bowling alley; President Obama can't bowl.

Leo Men, Leukemia & Every Heart and Hand

Leo High School thrives because of Hearts and Hands.   Since the late 1960s, I have heard rumors from people who had it on very good authority that Leo was "on its last legs."  Leo does not exist because of legs -  The June Taylor Dancers did.

Leo High School lives on Hearts and Hands operating according to the dictate - Deeds Not Words/Facta Non Verba. There is plenty Factae.  Last Friday night almost 700 Lions attended the annual Alumni Banquet at the Lexington House representing classes of alumni from the 1930s to the Class of 2004.  One of themes of the evening that seemed to table hop began with Dr. Tim Wollner as a challenge to the Lions.

It is call to help.  Leo Alumni pump support into this great school like a heart the size of Texas.  More so Leo Men jump in to help people in need.

Here is Dr. Tim Wollner, MD.

For those of you who do not know me, I am Dr. Tim Wollner, Leo High School graduate, class of 1975. I am a busy family physician who has had the added privilege of being the Leo High School team physician ever since the amazing Dr Tom Driscoll came into my office and asked me to take over for him, some fifteen years ago.

There is a specific reason I want to tell you one chapter of my Leo story. It involves Leukemia and “WE WILL FIGHT AS ONE STRONG BAND FOR THE HONOR OF THE ORANGE AND BLACK.” We have all learned many lessons from our experiences as Leo Men. There are a few that have been profound for me, and have served me well. The first was actually first verbalized by my mom, “Everyone has a story to tell.” The second was the most important Leo High School Theology class exercise I ever had. The message was, “Be sensitive to the needs of others.” As a person and a physician that has been a great lesson to try to live up to.

Another lesson happened about ten years ago while on the poorly lit sidelines of a Saturday night Leo football game. A linemen showed me some bruises on his arms. I didn’t think there was much to them, no different than the numerous bruises I always had as a small middle guard / middle linebacker in my playing days, wearing number 56 at Leo High School. The following week I found out the young man had acute Leukemia. I visited him in the hospital as he started his chemotherapy toward a full recovery. I will never forget the game against De La Salle that he came back and played in a year or so later.

Fast forward ten years. By now I have seen dozens and dozens of children and adults over the years with concerns of bruising. Of course, they were all fine. Then one day a special family member of one of the Leo Alumni Honorees at the April 27, 2012 Spring Banquet saw me at the office for bruising. Thankfully, I recalled the lessons from the Leo football sideline. This prompted me to help in a small way to enable this special young girl to get a quick diagnosis and treatment for acute Leukemia. She is now progressing very well toward recovery.

Sadly the last paragraph of this Leo story is not working out well right now. I would not be a Leo man and probably not a physician if not for my childhood friend, best man at my wedding and Leo man, from the class of 1974, Scott Fulwiler. Scott’s son-in-law Paul Ziemniarski, is a great guy, and a great big guy. Unfortunately, this big man is being hit extremely hard by his treatment for Leukemia right now. Paul is at Rush Medical Center as I write this plea to you; fighting to beat this tough cancer. Anyone familiar with recent Leo football knows of a former Leo student athlete, named Carlos. Carlos was surely the biggest player in all time Leo football history! Well our fellow Leo man, Scott Fulfiller’s son-in-law, Paul has got Carlos beat in stature, but he needs our help in beating his Leukemia.

NATO - Experience Chicago's Neighborhood People Eddie Carrol Suggests

I met Eddie Carroll, the Morgan Park neighborhood Philosopher, Gad-about Swain and Roofer to the Stars in the very long lines at County Fair Foods at 108th & Western.  The after-Mass crowds of shoppers from Sts. Barnabas, Cajetan, John Fisher (east of California) and Walter parishes were especially active this Sunday.

Mr. Carroll is best known as the CEO of Carroll Roofing - the haberdasher to our homes. Eddie is to roofs as Optimo is to fine head wear.  Mr. Carroll is a committed bachelor often beset by toothsome young women intent upon his sole attentions. Alas, Eddie Carroll is cosmopolitan universalist with regard to affections - courtly though cavalier and considerate without constancy.

I asked Eddie about the upcoming NATO Summit and what Chicago could do to welcome the salt-water Belgians, Brits, Spaniards Germans and Gauls.

Eddie said that Chicago has the most beautiful skyline, because of our lakefront and the imagination of the sons of Burnham, a world class playground for tourists complete with Beans and fountains old and new.
He grew more thoughtful than usual and soon decanted his latest vintage  of thought on this matter.

" Pat, this is one great town for kids, sport, art, literature, music and stand-up comedy.  I hope that our European guests will avail themselves of the first class wits and humorists featured at Chicago's fine light entertainment venues - Second City, Zanies, of course.  But they might also take in the laughs at blue-collar neighborhood taverns and saloons - Stash's Dot U Again?, Lou's Change, Bar Nun, the Flags, Fluke's Wrong Wit U? out here and  away from the dry Urban Center.  Here is some of the side-splitting drollery that our guests might hear here* from the likes of any one of the comic genius gents coming out of the head after leaving a bucket o' beer for the Water Reclamation District.  A McKinley Park MadCap, or Canaryville Cut-up, or Hegwisch Humorist  with a shirt-tail pecker protruding zipper high to play Panatloon- we are an earthy lot given to free expression and damn the outcomes and costs. I heard ourt own local wags offer these droll insights - exemplum gratia . . .

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats so they have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out.

Also, the French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Surrender" and "Collaborate." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability.

It is not only the English and French who are on a heightened level of alert. Italy has increased its alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."

The Germans also increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." Two higher levels remain: "Invade a Neighbour" and "Lose."

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual and the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels.

Lastly, the Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish Navy can get a really good look at the Old Spanish Navy.

Pat, I sure hope that our NATO guests and all of the foreign and domestic journalists, Wobblies, Reds, Anarchists, Occupiers, Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon, Noam Chomsky, and other humorlessly worn-out folks get a chance to bump into real Chicagoans and get the full favor of this our City of Neighborhoods. We are a droll folk."

I thanked Eddie for the wholesome and thoughtfully pleasant use of  time in the line. Eddie stacked his selections onto Donna's check out converyer belt - organic vegetables, brown rice, Fava beans, soy curds, plain Greek yogurts, Perrier, and a 16 oz. bottle of Pepto Bismal marked down to $ 2.75.  Eddie remarked, "That is value, Patrick. That is value.  I see you have a basket full of empty calories, salty and sugary snacks, canned soup - Progresso naturally, Flamin Hotz, and Slim Jims. Looks like a five dollar Billy Buck's ( equal or exceeeding $ 100 in goods) day for the Hickey Household. Yet, no Pepto Bismal. No Pepto Bismal.  Think of that."

With that signal blessing we parted.

Savage Bullying of Teens - Fully Funded and Progressive Approved

Nobody bullies like like a bully, who deeply and passionately believes that he has been bullied - a little corporal in Vienna, who avoided tobacco, alcohol, and bullets during WWI, found his art and lifestyle to be a laughing-stock to jeering Jews and callous Catholics and effeminate critics.  It got better.

He went on to pen a world-wide best-seller about his personal struggle and became a transcendent post-political world leader.

It gets better, unless one and others  happen to be au contraire. One can almost hear the smartly turned-out jack-booted progressive voices -Sie, nach rechts! Sie nach links!

Dan Savage* is a Chicago boy who tells one and all that his lifestyle has made him feel that he was somehow outre; well, different, conspicuously, or grossly unconventional or unusual. Dan is homosexual. For that,  Dan Savage has told every carbon foot-print within earshot, or the ability to read that he suffered from bullies.

The only human being, about whom I have some empirical knowledge, never bullied on this earth might possibly have been Swannie (circa - 1950-Present?)  Swanie lived at 75th Pl. & Honore Street two houses south of the tracks. He bullied me, Al McFarland, Terry Smith, Larry Fiscelli, Jimmy & Leo Shea, my brother Whitey, the Lutherans Dave and Danny Krieger, The Hamilton Dairy drivers, Brother Sloane from Leo,  the Two Mike Kellys, the Railroad Dicks, the Cops from Gresham, the Mercy Nuns, Clara Barton Grammar School, Msgr. Stephan McMahon, my Dad and his six brothers, the late Moose Skowron, three shifts at Donahue Steel on Damen, three shifts at Rheem water heater over by the Old Mill on the north side of the tracks, generations of Norway rats, stray dogs, and wild onions. Swannie-Invictus, intacta, et improviso

Jesus was Bullied, Moses was Bullied, St. Paul was Bullied, Oscar Wilde both bullied and was Bullied, Ho Chi Minh was Bullied - hell, he was a dish-washer in a French restaurant, Mao was bullied, and even George Sanders was bullied . . .I think.

I hate bullies.  Having been bullied I tried to be one myself  and had my ass kicked wholesomely - not worth the trouble or the accompanying shame.

Bullies hate being confronted.  I hectored, not bullied mind you, the sweet, smart, lovely and talented Tamara Holder due to my misunderstanding of her work in expunging criminal records. Ms. Holder set me straight and that is not reverse bullying.  Ms. Holder gave me what for with the facts; we be friends. Ms. Holder holds what some would call Progressive points of view.  I value my Catholic, anti-abortion, tribal, close-knit ethnic, pro-real labor beliefs.  We believe in truths; we are not truth itself; that is bullying.

This is bullying and it is fully approved by the media, government and our current Justice Department**.

A few months ago, It seems to me that in order to clear the way for Rep. Greg Harris' Homosexual Marriage Campaign in Illinois, media types took shots at the Catholic Church and Catholics because of its and their Belief that Marriage is between a Man and a Woman, because a man and woman can procreate - breed, have children.

No less a bully than Neil Steinberg chastised Catholic High Schools for not sending students to see a play at the Steppenwolf Theatre that celebrated a gay girl bullied at a Catholic School.

Mesdames et Messieurs, Notre intimident peu idiot, Neil!

Catholic schools avoid Steppenwolf play on gay student bullied — at Catholic school

Most schools have some kind of anti-bullying program, though — since schools don’t like to acknowledge the existence of sex, either (parents tend to go crazy) — most of those programs don’t actually discuss sexuality, even though half of school bullying is against kids who are either gay or seen as gay. Neil Steinberg nsteinberg@suntimes.com March 6, 2012 6:24PM

Gee, and everybody loves Wagner! The opera guy!  Wagner gave that little smokes and booze free vegan Viennese corporal paper-hanger the spirit and juice to show everyone that It Gets Better!

Why does Israel bully Old Dead Dick Wagner and not allow his tunes ( His music is better than it sounds - Mark Twain, a huge American bully) to get play ?

Must be something in Bible.

*Dan Savage was born to William and Judy Savage in Chicago, Illinois.[6] He is of Irish ancestry.[7] The third of four children,[6] Savage was raised as a Roman Catholicand attended Quigley Preparatory Seminary North, which he has described as "a Catholic high school in Chicago for boys thinking of becoming priests."[8] Though Savage has stated that he is now "a wishy-washy agnostic" and an atheist,[9] he has said that he still considers himself "culturally Catholic."[8][10]Savage attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he studied theater and history.[6] As a theater director, Savage (working under the name "Keenan Hollahan") was a founder of Seattle's Greek Active Theater.[10] Much of the group's work has been queer recontextualizations of classic works, such as a tragicomicMacbeth with both the title character and Lady Macbeth played by performers of the opposite sex. In March 2001, he directed his own Egguus at Consolidated Works, a parody of Peter Shaffer's 1973 play Equus which exchanged a fixation on horses for a fixation on chickens. Savage has not directed, produced, or performed in any productions since a 2003 production of Letters from the Earth, also at Consolidated Works, his trimmed version of Mark Twain's The Diary of Adam and Eve, which received scathing reviews, including one from his own paper, "My Boss's Show Stinks".[11]Savage and his husband, Terry, have one adopted son, D.J.,[12] and were married in Vancouver, BC in 2005.[13][14]

** ARLINGTON — Hundreds of Texas educators, politicians and LGBT activists attended the White House LGBT Conference on Safe Schools and Communities to hear about the Obama administration’s efforts to fight bullying and prevent hate crimes and to discuss local progress. [...]
Holder said the administration has “created a record we can all be proud of” in terms of protecting LGBT rights and “a sense of momentum that today we stand poised to build upon.”
“This morning I’m proud to join you in affirming a very simple truth and renewing this administration’s commitment, as well as my own, to an essential idea that no one, no one, deserves to be bullied, harassed or victimized because of who they are, how they worship or, and hear it when I say it now, or who they love,” Holder said.
Holder said the “It Gets Better” campaign is more than a slogan, but something the administration is backing up with “robust action,” like the five-year settlement with the Anoka-Hennepin school district reached March 5.

Bernard J. F. Lonergan, SJ (1904-1984) - A Black Robe in Our Savage Secular World

I got home from the Leo Alumni Banquet at about 10:15 P.M. and could not turn-in until my daughter Clare bounced home from an evening of pre-prom prep-talks with the ladies of her circle - before midnight but well after 11 P.M.  I read.

I re-read passages of an old volume of Insight by Canadian Jesuit philosopher and theologian Bernard Lonergan.  The book was given to me by Dr. Jim Kennedy, M.D.  while I was a teacher at Bishop McNamara High School in Kankakee, Illinois. Two Doc Kennedy's kids went form Mac/La Lumiere to Boston College.

Lonergan taught at Harvard as well as Boston College. In fact, Lonergan is regarded as one of the most original thinkers since Cardinal Newman.   Lonergan is no Noam Chomsky - the Jesuit makes sense.

We all have thoughts, insights; some are good and most are really, really bad.  Lonergan warns,  “The seed of intellectual curiosity has to grow into a rugged tree to hold its own against the desires and fears, conations and appetites, drives and interests, that inhabit the heart of man,”

My, is he judgmental.  Most geniuses are very judgemental and should be. Cogito ergo sum - I think therefore I am, must beg the question , "And so what?"  Hitler was here, Charlie Sheen is here, and the Anarchist idiots will be here in Chicago on May 20th; after checking in to the various Double Trees, beefing that the ice buckets are two small, checking the cable to see if it has HBO, they will light tire fires, break windows, trash the sidewalks, shout for the TV and get taken to the joint.  NATO Summit a great idea?

Insight is all about understanding how we understand.  Lonergan holds this to be "unrestricted act of understanding" UAU.  This method holds that we Experience, We Judge and We Understand.
Experience is a restricted sense of understand and likewise the other two.  Together, man can come to some understanding. The book is structured to ask two things -What is happening when we know? What is known when that is happening?

Jesuit Bernard Lonergan is one hell of a Black Robe and a great read.  Unlike, Jesuits in 17th Century North America suffering torture and martyrdom at the hands of Iroquois, Bernard Lonergan makes too much sense and requires too much effort on the part of intellectual bigots and frauds, like Chomsky and others.  Lonergan's martyrdom is the shunning of his work.

"Analyze This! " - God Responds to Latest Scientific Study: People of Faith Don't Think

Scientists have revealed one of the reasons why some folks are less religious than others: They think more analytically, rather than going with their gut. And thinking analytically can cause religious belief to wane — for skeptics and true believers alike.
I was awakened again, thanks be to God. Said my prayers, fed the cat, and got to it.  Read the Tribune and the posted article and asked God what he thought of it. Here HE is!

God ( aka - Supreme Being, Dominus, Lord of Hosts, Yaweh, Allah, Prime Mover, Triun God, Original Gangstah! & etc. )

Hickey, do you know what time it is ?  Oh, ME!  You got Company? Sorry about the get-up,folks,  this goof wakes before I intended man to rise.  Hickey, you are really lucky I turned-in early, or you'd really be up $hit-creek for fair, Paddy Me Boy!  As it is you just added a few semesters to your stay in Purgatory. Take a walk or something - I sure Hell don't need you staring over my shoulders. Now, Blow!
Hi, everybody!  Again, sorry about my state of dress; I'm God for Crissakes, not Adolph Menjou.  He really is an inconsiderate pain in the ass, but he means well, I know. . . .before we get to the meat of the matter, let me first congratulate all the Leo Alumni who will be celebrating their commitment to Leo High School ( 1928-2012 Anno Mine) at the Lexington House in Hickory Hills tonight.  The doors will open at 5:30 P.M. and cocktails will be served between 6:30 - 7:30 Post Meridian central Standard Time.  If any of you guys are thirsty, just wait; there will be plenty of time to toss back a few and remember DUI laws are enforced.  I created the each human body differently - age, weight, gender, food intake prior to consumption of one ounce of alcohol must be considered.  For some of you gents who slept through Brother Finch's chemistry and physics class, which I dou . . .am certain never happened, remember an ounce of booze is an ounce of booze - beer, wine, or loudmouth.  Have fun but if you plan to whack down an inappropriate amount of cold ones, have a sober driver.  Remember to eat.

Leo Men!  You are my sons in whom I am very well pleased!

The weather is going to be a bit odd - Hey, you live in Chicago!

That's about it.

Now, a group of smart kids used grant money to justify the current war on Faith.  This is a political gimmick that Bismark used in the 19th Century in order to consolidate the 101 German States and principalities under Prussian control.  Kant and Hegel were and still are used to make a case against me.  Knock yourselves out, Lads.

This current study is meant to Balkans folks.  If you believe in Me, all to the good.  If you choose to not believe in Me . . .see you in a few years; right Mr. Hitchens?  Any way.

This new study, which is really as old as human arrogance, holds that Doubters are smarter than Believers. They use math and science to prove this using a series of John Dewey's tests and measurements.  These are the same class of  talented youngsters who measure and calibrated the wheels on the very expensive Bombardier Rail Car Wheels that the City of City bought like a pig in a poke last November.

Measure twice; cut once works only if the carpenter has learned which end of the rule which - remember that scene in This is Spinal Tap?  That was great!  The Stonehenge scene.  Where the stage manager wrote down inches ("s) instead of feet (')? Here, Watch This!

You guys kill me . . . and then I Resurrect!
Anyway, ever since Moses took his sandals off when I lit that bush on fire ( Charleton Heston!  Take a bow, Son!) you need proofs. Thomas the Apostle, that was a close one for you, Kiddo. No matter what I say, do, or demonstrate there will always be doubt - supposed to be.  I don't want you clowns stumbling around in the dark, or depending upon your trust of Kellogg's that there is exactly 16 ounces of corn-flakes in the box, or worse allowing science alone to be your guide - looks at how much weight Al Gore put on since he obsessed with glaciers and penguins.  That and his pretty wife gave him the gate.

I am perfect. Sorry, the job's taken.  Everything else is limited ( you can only drink so many beers, guys), fallible, disappointing, and in exact.  The earth is nice and round.  Water freezes at a some point, given certain circumstances, and it boils at some point, again given certain circumstances.  The NBA does not draft Pygmies - is that certainty, or what if Shorty Mnumbaka has a hang time measured in 0.58 minutes X Two and standard English yard ( 3') s times Seven?   Shorty will go into his freshman year at Brother Aman Prep School in Gungu, Uganda just a bit north central of Lake Albert.  Don't believe me?  Got Proof? just kidding.

Look, you have computers and they are all coded using 0s and 1s. You have DNA coded A, T,G, C with three billion of these letters in every human cell - math is limits.

I have been talking to you all for millions of years; some choose to believe on a few thousand of years, Whats a few numbers off between friends?  I AM. . . .don't just take my  Word for it. Richard Feynman, a Nobel Prize winner for quantum electrodynamics, said, "Why nature is mathematical is a mystery...The fact that there are rules at all is a kind of miracle."

Here's the deal. No matter how many numbers, proofs, or tests, you all have Free Will.  No Charge!
One caveat - There really is only One test, all the rest are Old Styles and Slim Jims, really.  It is Pass/Fail and really can not study for it - call it The Final.
