Lefkow Will Hammer Jon Burge: It is Preordained in the Media

Jon Burge will receive a very heavy sentence from Judge Joan Lefkow in Federal Court this afternoon. It is preordained - Judge Lefkow refused to recuse herself* for having worked with the prosecutor. More importantly, the media determined years ago that Jon Burge was guilty and want to help G. Flint Taylor amass his millions more -in my humble opinion. This case will be squealed loudly in order to bring pressure on Gov. Quinn to sign the Death Penalty Abolition Bill. G. Flint Taylor intends to bring more suits on the back of Judge Lefkow's sentence and make millions more from tax-payers.

Did Burge torture? I really do not believe so. That matters not. I repost what I said this past summer. Make book on this - Burge will receive a heavy sentence and G. Flint Taylor will want much, much, much more. This is and always has been about money and not at all about Justice - for anyone. Most people who have decided that Jon Burge is guilty and condemned a priori are pretty good people. A few, like G. Flint Taylor are not worth the sweat of a fat man in a sauna.

I know the Fahey family, not real well, but I know Packey and Mike. Their brother Chicago Police Officer William Fahey along with Officer Richard O'Brien was tortured, murdered and their bodies were urinated upon by the Wilson Brothers.

I do not know, nor have I ever met Former Detective Commander Burge. I do know several Chicago Police Detectives who worked under Jon Burge, in Area 2. They universally admire Burge for courage and leadership 'from the front' and say he was a great boss.

All I know about Jon Burge's nemesis G. Flint Taylor is what I have read in the news and other media publications and witnessed on television or heard over the radio. My impression of G. Flint Taylor of the Peoples Law Office is wildly unfavorable. Not a big deal.

The media love G. Flint Taylor because he is edgy and wraps his dubious agenda in rhetorical flourishes that would make Atticus Finch seem like the leader of a lynch mob.

G. Flint Taylor it seems to me is a Marxist millionaire lawyer with the bulliest of pulpits - American Progressive High Ground. He is a nasty piece of work, it seems to me, because he has been at the plate with his Burge bats for decades and never hit one even remotely within the foul line. G. Flint Taylor's most telling moment occurred when career criminal and current Federal inmate Aaron Paterson's day in court went south on the thug. G. Flint Taylor and Urban Translator Gator Bradley as well as another attorney all but came to blows over the money that was settled out of court - yet, Aaron by dint of his thuggish instincts returned to prison.


Three of the alleged victims have remained free, but Patterson is serving a 30-year prison term on gun and drug charges.

In one of the strange twists in Patterson's civil case, a judge allowed Wallace "Gator" Bradley, a former gang enforcer, to sit in court with Patterson's attorney as an "urban translator" to control the volatile defendant. Now Bradley says Patterson's attorney, Frank Avila, owes him $250,000 for his work. Avila and Flint Taylor, Patterson's former lawyer, are fighting over their share of the legal fees.

The City of Chicago, like other towns and municipalities walked right into G. Flint Taylor's agenda - they tried to toss money at a glutton.

Now, with witnesses against Burge self-impeaching and the high-minded suspender snapping oratory melted, Jon Burge is answering questions with piss and vinegar.

When and if Burge is acquitted and I believe that he will be. G.Flint Taylor and his orchestra will play more loudly. This is not about justice -this is all about money for G. Flint Taylor and his industry. But right now, things are not looking too good and it is torturing G. Flint Taylor.

The Burge Trial - The Jury Will Not End Burge Industries: Lawyers, Louts and Loudmouths

Very good people are appalled by the idea of torture. The idea of torture in Chicago by homicide detectives committed to systemtic racism has been carefully crafted and marketed over the last thirty years.

Academics, Activists and Advocacy Agendanistas have parlayed the idea of torture into a mythology that permeates what passes for Chicago's corporate news media.

Carol Marin and other iconic columnists have not tucked their snouts into the story of Area 2, but have relied completely on the work of John Conroy and the propaganda machine of G. Flint Taylor. Code of Silence, Black Box, House of Screams, Vietnam 101 Torture are part of the Burge Industries glossary developed by Sasha Abramsky, Bernardine Dohrn, G. Flint Taylor, Northwestern Law, and especially John Conroy, who can not seem to be given the contract by the corporate media that laps up his every nuanced participle. Why is he not the editor of some great metropolitan newspaper? They all redact his texts and themes.

Twelve citizens will decide for or against Jon Burge, who has been fabricated into the face of torture, by G. Flint Taylor, The MacArthur Center for Justice, Jon Loevy, Locke Bowman, Jean McLean Snyder, Berardine Dohrn, WTTW, WBEZ, NPR, and the lazy and compliant editorial boards.

I have followed this story as a citizen and as an educator who spends seven days a week in Area 2 - I live here and live with the fall-out that has evolved as the result of the erosion in faith for Law Enforcement at the hands of lawyers, louts and loudmouths. A rainforest of crime has rooted up in Chicago- not in Wicker Park, Bucktown, Lakeview, Highland Park, Winnteka, or Wilmette, but in Gresham, Englewood, Brainerd, Morgan Park, Beverly and Roseland.

I have witnessed the savagery of street thuggery and attended the funerals of too many sweet and hard working young black men slaughtered in the Thug Comfort Zone created by Burge Industries - Eric Ersery, Jason Riley, Steven Lyons,Eric and Steve Lee to name but a few. I have witnessed the police officers and detectives of Gresham District (6th) and Area 2.

I don't buy the systemic racist torture at all. Am I intellectually dishonest? I don't think so. I have followed this story very religiously since Officers Fahey and O'Brien were tortured and murdered. I know that I have found the endless chorus of charges and the endless failures to make the case for torture a compelling case for doubt. What happened? I do not know, but I do not buy for one second the charges howled by G. Flint Taylor and the murdering savages that he represents. I suspect that G. Flint Taylor and others in his cottage industry including Chicago's news media want the Burge Saga to continue.

The perjury case against Jon Burge,it seems to me, was merely another legal sop paid to G.Flint Taylor. The City of Chicago and Cook County tried tossing millions of dollars at this public pest. They would have done well to stand in court and demanded a battle royal against the charges. They did not.

The jury will decide one way or the other, but do not think for a minute that Burge Industries will be satisfied. If Jon Burge is convicted or acquitted, G. Flint Taylor and his disciples will howl for more, more, more court time and greater fees. Taylor is smelling an acquittal of Jon Burge and has already ginned up his next moves:

Whatever the outcome of the Jon Burge perjury and obstruction of justice trial, the legal battles that have swirled around him for more than 20 years, and that have cost the city millions of dollars, will drag on.

Not only legal battles, but political battles,” said Flint Taylor, who represents several men who accused Mr. Burge and others of torturing them while at Area 2 violent-crimes unit of the police department on the Far South Side in the 1970s and ’80s. “This is just one phase in the long struggle against police torture.”

Even Huffington Post has gone dark on the Burge Trial.

The only real, genuine and consistant voice calling out the media for this sense of fait accompli in the Burge Trial has been Steve Rhodes of Beachwood Reporter and we agree not a bit in this matter. Rhodes even seemed to shame the Chicago Reader, once the home of John Conroy into some sense of coverage. Rhodes is honest and sincere in his antipathy to Jon Burge, unlike the moral whack-a-mole opportunists Carol Marin, or Eric Zorn.

John Conroy will be kept busy and his story line will continue as Carol Marin and others play the Polyanna do-gooders.

More kids will be slaughtered. If it bleeds it leads.

The scent of easy money, like the taste for blood can not be sated.

Allegations and Spent Lotto Tickets: Sun Times Wants Money for Lawyers

The Chicago Sun Times and Tom McNamee are working hard for G. Flint Taylor in his efforts to cash in on the allegations of police torture.

Today, Tom McNamee's Chicago Way - clips toe-nails into Mayor Daley's Cornflakes by linking the Children's Museum nonsense with G. Flint Taylor's efforts to bully some spineless ninnies into paying him for evidence that he can not seem to produce in any court.

You remember Burge.
He's the Chicago Police lieutenant with the magic bag of torture tricks. In the 1970s and '80s, before there was Abu Ghraib, there was a basement in a Chicago Police station where Burge could have squeezed a murder confession out of Mother Teresa.

Burge might begin by slamming a phone book to the back of a suspect's head. Then maybe a flashlight or night stick to the gut.

He might move on to a plastic bag over the head. Or arrange for the suspect to suffer a few "accidental" burns from a hot radiator.

And then he'd get down to business, flexing the alligator clips on his personal hand-cranked electric generator.

Deliver enough electric shocks to a man's testicles or anus, and he'll confess to kidnapping the Lindbergh baby, if he can stop screaming long enough.

Hold the phone: The Socialist Worker does not even go that far! Mr. McNamee argues that Burge did that as opposed to 'it was alleged' or 'claimed' 'or asserted'
or 'opined'

John Conroy who has helped write the Flint Taylor Playbook on suing the police uses much less assertive language:

(convicted murderer) Wilson sued the city, saying he'd been tortured by Burge and
detectives under his command. He wasn't the first former suspect to make this accusation,
and scores have been uncovered since. Wilson said Burge wired him up to a black box
and turned a crank that generated an electric shock. This technique bore a striking
resemblance to what American troops in Vietnam called "the Bell telephone
hour"--shocking prisoners by means of a hand-cranked army field phone. In defending
himself against Wilson's suit he ( Burge) said he'd never seen a black box, and though he'd served
as a military policeman in the Mekong delta in 1968 and '69 had never heard of field
phone interrogations. He bristled at the suggestion that Americans in Vietnam had
conducted them.

Later John Conroy admits that Burge, though in Vietnam, was in the convoy traffic division of his Unit.

Before the Chicago
Police Board in March 1992, he described his role with the MPs as "escort of convoys,
security for forward support bases, supervising security for the divisional central base
camp in Dong Tam, and I finished my tour as a provost marshal investigator." A
company roster of key personnel as of January 31, 1969, lists Burge as head of the traffic
section

But Conroy talked to many Vietnam era vets until someone brought up the telephone box torture device. Whew!

Now, at trial, Flint Taylor needed to build a torture device and demonstrate its 'chilly' effect. Where's the one Burge used? Must be lost due to the conspiracy. We (everyone Flint and McNamee are 'telling' to) are to assume that the alleged box is at the bottom of Lake Michigan - Burge owned a boat!

I'm just a guy who reads the newspapers. I read that Flint brought in a Boy Scout now in his 40's who 'stumbled upon' police torture. The problem was that the Boy Scout 'witnessed' Burge torturing a black man at the wrong police station.


Flint has been trying to cash-in allegations by using the media instead of the courts.

Flint strikes out in court. The Chicago Sun Times seems more than happy to help Flint and other police lawsuit addicted pettifoggers get a payday. That's just wrong.

Justice should be served - not fabricated. G. Flint Taylor has had how many whacks at Burge and the Police in Court? How many decades? That is some conspiracy. But whose? Who benefits from keeping this nonsense alive?

Sells papers. Gets Andy Shaw a few 'outraged' sputters on TV. Keeps Activists Active.

There are about 108 allegations of Police torture. There are millions of un-cashable lottery tickets covering the floors of Speedways. White Hens, 7/11s, and Thorntons like snow all over the country. Like the torture allegations of the self-confessed murdereres who see a means of 'getting out of jail with cash' tickets, charges are valid, until it comes time to cash them in during trial. G. Flint Taylor screams 'conspiracy and fix' before, during and after trial - that way he can not lose - just re-charge the nonsense with the help of lazy journailsts and the assumption that people can not think for themselves.

Chicago Media Ignore the Butchery of Babies But Boost Burge Mythology

In the 1980's two Chicago Police Officers were tortured and murdered by the Wilson Brothers.  The Wilson Brothers were arrested, charged and convicted of the torture and murder of Officers Fahey and O'Brien.

Ten years earlier,Dr. Kermit Barron Gosnell, MD began charging impoverished women $1,600 a snip to murder their unborn children. This murderer is described by the Associated Press as 'serene and elegant' as he stands trial.  That AP story line is the only one carried here in Illinois.

The Peoples Law Office's G. Flint Taylor with a powerful assist from ex-con Northwestern Professor Bernadine Dohrn, Mother Jones writer Sasha Abramsky and later The Chicago Reader began crafting the Mythology of Jon Burge and His Midnight Crew. The Chicago Media lapped it up.

Meanwhile Dr. Kermit Barron Gosnell, MD of Philadelphia amassed  millions of dollars - dare I say millions of dollars?  Sure, I dare - butchering the unborn, partially born and alive children of mothers who were lured to his Lancaster Avenue abattoir. That is until 2010.



G. Flint Taylor had many opportunities and millions of dollars to this end - prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Police Commander John Burge systemically tortured hundreds of black men.  G. Flint Taylor  failed to do that, but managed to create a compelling narrative that time, repetition and legal legerdemain managed to lay a perjury trap that sent Jon Burge to Federal Prison.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell, MD slaughtered thousands children; Burge might have 'tuned-up' a few thugs and possibly a couple of innocents as well.

Both Chicago newspapers keep the Burge fires burning, while Kermit Barron Gosnell* goes ignored.

You see Gosnell is on the right side of history and Burge looks like a guy who might give one a slap. Therefore, he must have tortured black men 24/7 with his systemically racist Midnight Crew in the House of Screams that no one seemed to hear.  After all, why else would John Conroy write so many compelling narratives for the Chicago Reader and go on to work for, a not a news agency, but that soul integrity and good humor Andy Shaw of BGA?  Judges, urban translators, commissions, blue ribbon panels, university faculties and every person with press pass in Chicago demands that Burge face the music. Ergo, a Burge Reminder appears every two weeks, or so.

However, nothing about the butchery of children gets any sweat equity from the Chicago Media Mavens.

Abortion is woman's health care wedded to Gay Marriage. Can't sully that.

Burge Beefing, and a mighty thin beef it be, undermines any and all confidence in law and law enforcement and that is a good thing.  You see the same folks involved in crafting the Burge narrative also helped destroy Chicago public education and that is a good thing - tragically bad schools, lousy public transporation, dangerous neighborhoods, bigger taxes, and soul-sucking repetition of nonsense will cause more people to flee Chicago, create greater real estate bonanzas for the Judson Miner, Allison Davis and Val Jarrett,


If you happen to be a Buzz-cut Bolshevik, or a Cadillac Commie with membership in an Ivy League, Northwestern, or University of Chicago Alumni Association, you have ears of Tom McNamee, Carol Marin and Bruce Dold and the other editorial and news ninnies. Exemplum Gratia!

After court, Locke Bowman, director of the Northwestern University's MacArthur Justice Center, called Biebel's decision sensible given the "abysmal" track record of the state's attorney's office on Burge-related cases.
"They've never acknowledged that Jon Burge injured anyone," he said. "They've never taken any steps to address any of the flawed prosecutions on which his actions turned, and as a result they are tainted." (emphases my own) 

They would be the States Attorneys Office and most juries before whom Flint and Locke laid on the mythopoeic rhetoric.  Once Bernardine Dorhn suggested an electric shock box in the Mother Jones article by Sasha Abramsky that mythical torture device became doctrine, but never made an appearance . . .with the exception of the one G. Flint Taylor parted with a few nickels to have built for him.


That is because not one of these later-day Clarence Darrows could prove that Jon Burge enjoyed boating, let alone tortured people 24/7.

There will be no end to Burge Myth, because that is the point.

We need to demand some time, certainly no equal time for the monstrous murdering medicine man in Philadelphia, because you can bet the same thing is happening here.

Very good people are appalled by the idea of torture. The idea of torture in Chicago by homicide detectives committed to systemtic racism has been carefully crafted and marketed over the last thirty years.

Some very bad people created the Burge Mythology and will make hundreds of thousands of more dollars, when Chicago's aldermen vote for the Burge Reparations ordinance.  It will be unanimous. Not one Alderman has the guts to ask for a true analysis of the Burge Myth.

Academics, Activists and Advocacy Agendanistas have parlayed the idea of torture into a mythology that permeates what passes for Chicago's corporate news media.

Carol Marin, Mark Brown, Eric Zorn and other iconic columnists have not tucked their snouts into the story of Area 2, but have relied completely on the work of John Conroy and the propaganda machine of G. Flint Taylor. Code of Silence, Black Box, House of Screams, Vietnam 101 Torture are part of the Burge Industries glossary developed by Sasha Abramsky, Bernardine Dohrn, G. Flint Taylor, Northwestern Law, and especially John Conroy, who can not seem to be given the contract by the corporate media that laps up his every nuanced participle. Why is he not the editor of some great metropolitan newspaper? They all redact his texts and themes.

Twelve citizens should decide for or against Jon Burge, who has been fabricated into the face of torture, by G. Flint Taylor, The MacArthur Center for Justice, Jon Loevy, Locke Bowman, Jean McLean Snyder, Berardine Dohrn, WTTW, WBEZ, NPR, and the lazy and compliant editorial boards. As it is, Jon Burge has been tripped up, convicted of perjury, sent to prison, released and now waits for the next bundle of legal barbed wire.

I have followed this story as a citizen and as an educator who spends seven days a week in Area 2 - I live here and live with the fall-out that has evolved as the result of the erosion in faith for Law Enforcement at the hands of lawyers, louts and loudmouths. A rainforest of crime has rooted up in Chicago- not in Lakeview, Highland Park, Winnteka, or Wilmette, but in Gresham, Englewood, Brainerd, Morgan Park, Beverly and Roseland.

I have witnessed the savagery of street thuggery and attended the funerals of too many sweet and hard working young black men slaughtered in the Thug Comfort Zone created by Burge Industries - Eric Ersery, Jason Riley, Steven Lyons,Antonio Collins, Eric and Steve Lee to name but a few. I have witnessed the police officers and detectives of Gresham District (6th) and Area 2.

I don't buy the systemic racist torture at all. Am I intellectually dishonest? I don't think so.

I have followed this story very religiously since Officers Fahey and O'Brien were tortured and murdered. I know that I have found the endless chorus of charges and the endless failures to make the case for torture a compelling case for doubt. What happened? I do not know, but I do not buy for one second the charges howled by G. Flint Taylor and the murdering savages that he represents. I suspect that G. Flint Taylor and others in his cottage industry including Chicago's news media want the Burge Saga to continue.

The perjury case against Jon Burge,it seems to me, was merely another legal sop paid to G.Flint Taylor, by judges and attorneys general. The City of Chicago and Cook County tried tossing millions of dollars at this public pest. They would have done well to stand in court and demanded a battle royal against the charges. They did not. Today, the City Council will 5.5 million more dollars to G. Flint Taylor and The Peoples Law Office.

A jury should decide one way or the other, but do not think for a minute that Burge Industries will ever be satisfied. If Jon Burge is ever convicted of the torture the mythology demands we accept, or is acquitted, G. Flint Taylor and his disciples will howl for more, more, more court time and greater fees.

Taylor is record for more legal battles no matter how much the City of Chicago gives away.  Not only legal battles, but political battles,” said Flint Taylor, who represents several men who accused Mr. Burge and others of torturing them while at Area 2 violent-crimes unit of the police department on the Far South Side in the 1970s and ’80s. “This is just one phase in the long struggle against police torture.”

Police officer and author Martin Preib has pulled apart the author of the Burge Mythology -John Conroy.

Conroy made The Chicago Reader the Norton Anthology of Burge Myths; however, John Conroy was discharged from the Chicago Reader, never found work on any news paper, magazine, or electronic media server, but landed a post at DePaul University after a very brief time with Andy Shaw's BGA.

Mr. Conroy never responded to Martin Preib's critique of his methodology.  Why is that?

Nevertheless, John Conroy will be kept busy and his story line will continue as Carol Marin and others play the Polyanna do-gooders.

Perhaps, William Crawford's new book on this cottage industry tied to police brutality mythology and duplicitous Wrongful Conviction Complex of journalists, criminals, lawyers and activists will wake some people up.  I hope so.



More kids will be slaughtered. If it bleeds it leads. If it gets in a column, G. Flint Taylor makes money.

Burge Trial - Like "The Black Box" Frank Sirtoff Seems to Have Vanished, sort of

Everyone, we are told repeatedly, must accept that Jon Burge tortured hundreds of black men between the 1980's and 1990's.

However, wheels keep falling off this bandwagon - hundreds of black men, came down to five two weeks ago when the prosecution in the perjury trial of Jon Burge took flight and the black box electrical torture has yet to appear in anything but rumor and hearsay.

ABC7 Exclusive: Former Boy Scouts claim to have witnessed torture

Two former Boy Scouts say they witnessed the torture of a suspect and they believe former commander Jon Burge was involved.

There was a 1980′s film called “Stand By Me” about kids who stumbled onto a crime scene and it changed their lives forever. Not only are the following memories remindful of that film, they are also the first independent, corroborated witness accounts of possible torture inside a Chicago police station.

“I’ve tried to put it in the back of my mind most of the time and tried to live my life as good as I could. But after seeing something like that, it’s a life-changing experience,” said Frank Sirtoff, alleged torture witness.

Forty-five-year-old Frank Sirtoff says he will never forget what he saw during the summer of 1975 when he was a 14-year-old boy scout living on Chicago’s Southwest Side. Sirtoff says he and a cousin, who was also a scout, entered the Area 3 police headquarters — then at 39th and California — to visit their scout leader who was a detective in the youth division on the third floor.

“We made it a habit of going there quite often, at least once a week,” said Sirtoff.

But that day, the boys went exploring on the second floor. Sirtoff says he remembers opening a door and seeing a black man in distress sitting at a long desk.

“And this man was sitting in the wooden chair, strapped down with handcuffs on his arms, his legs,” Sirtoff said. “The leg of the chair and wires all over his body, wires on his arms, his hands, his forehead, by the temples of his head … and on top of the desk was a black box with a crank handle and all of the wires going into the box.”

Frank’s cousin wished to remain anonymous as he talked about also seeing the black man, the box and the wires and a large, red-haired detective.

“He had red hair, mustache, big guy. He said, ‘shut that n—-r up and get these f—–g kids out of here,’ ” said Frank’s cousin, who was 13 at the time.

Sirtoff says, after seeing news reports during the past 30 years, there is no doubt in his mind the red-haired man was Jon Burge, the now retired police commander under investigation for the torture of nearly 200 black men.

“I look at Burge, and Burge looks at me right in the eye, and says, ‘kill the n—–r and get the kid,’ ” Sirtoff said.

Police department records say that in 1975 Burge was not assigned to Area 3. That year he was a sergeant working as a detective in the intelligence division and for the Fourth District on the South Side.

Sirtoff’s scout leader, Martin W. Conroy, who retired as a detective in 1995, says he remembers Sirtoff and the other boy “frequently visited at the youth division”. By telephone from his home in Texas, Conroy said, “I believe them. Why would they make it up?”

On Burge being at 39th and California that day, Conroy said, “If outside detectives made an arrest in Area 3, they might come there for an interrogation or to take part in it.”

Attorney Flint Taylor has represented alleged victims in 10 torture-related lawsuits.

“It’s been documented that in the ’70′s there were cases where people would be picked up in another area of the city, for Burge, that Burge would either go to him or he’d be brought to Burge,” said Flint Taylor, People’s Law Center.

Sirtoff says, after the confrontation with the red-haired detective, he and his cousin ran to Conroy’s office on the third floor where they were ordered out of the building. It wasn’t until many years later, after seeing news reports on alleged police torture, that he began suffering guilt for not telling someone about what he had seen.

“I want to be able to say to myself and think to myself that I didn’t die taking this to the grave with me, and that guy that was sitting in the chair, he knows that I finally told somebody about it,” said Sirtoff.

Sirtoff says in 1994 he told the FBI in northwest Indiana about what he saw. He says he did not tell the FBI in Chicago fearing it might be as corrupt as police. The FBI will neither confirm nor deny that such an interview took place.

Sirtoff left voice mail messages at the People’s Law Center in Chicago three years ago. He told the same story on the tapes — that still exist — but he did not leave his name or a number where he could be reached.

Neither Sirtoff nor his cousin talked to the special prosecutor who has been conducting the official investigation.

Lawyers for former Chicago Police Cmdr. Jon Burge have asked to move his trial from Chicago, arguing that news reports have made it impossible for him to be treated fairly by a jury here.

The attorneys contend that "pervasive, prejudicial pretrial publicity" has damaged Burge's ability to get a fair shake. On Wednesday, the lawyers gave U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow a sampling of news accounts they say demonstrate the point.

Burge has been charged with perjury and obstruction of justice for allegedly concealing his involvement in torture. He has pleaded not guilty.

Federal Prosecutor Fitzy Tackles Only the Easy Ones

Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald and his posse are going string out a litany of cases against retired and active Chicago Police officers in the wake of the Burge Bonanza! G. Flint Taylor is already thumbing the Benjamin's to come and the news Media is Burge Conviction Friendly . . .Now.

Burge is the only officer to be criminally charged in relation to torture, but federal prosecutors have hinted he won't be the last. Burge was charged with lying in a civil suit in 2003 when he denied ever witnessing or participating in torture. He wasn't charged with the torture itself because the statute of limitations has run out.

Other officers also have denied any role in torture and no other perjury of obstruction of justice charges have been announced, but U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald has said the investigation into the decades-long cover-up is ongoing.

Fitzgerald said after Monday's verdict that "a message needs to go out that that conduct is unacceptable" and asked others who feel they have evidence of torture to come forward. He wouldn't comment on specific cases.

Jon Burge was a slam dunk. I kind of hoped that he'd be acquited but twelve citizens accepted the case presented by the Feds on perjury and Judge Lefkow's deft handling of this explosive case.

Judge Lefkow seemed to follow the script that has worked for G. Flint Taylor's cooing to Judges from Milton Shadur to Gettleman to Lefkow. Triple plays all the way.

Judges Egan and Boyle who conducted the exhaustive Cook County Special Prosecutor's report that wedged in the words 'might have' among the catalog of horrors would not parse the law. G. Flint Taylor howled bloody murder and Fitzy's ears pricked up.

Federal Prosecutor Fitzy who screwed the pooch in New York* and may have opened the door for the 9/11 attack came to Illinois armed with a warrant to get George Ryan - that was easy. He'll remain free on bond until his Nov. 5 sentencing, and attorneys say he'll return to his home in Apollo Beach, Fla. until then. Burge has already posted that home as bond, and his older brother Jeffery on Tuesday put up his Chicago home as well. The Florida home has more than $200,000 in equity, while Jeffery Burge has more than $275,000 in equity in his home, attorneys said.

Prosecutors had tried to amend Burge's bond to include electronic monitoring and home confinement, with Assistant U.S. Attorney David Weisman arguing that Burge's "general respect for the rule of law ... was less respectful than it could have been."

U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow denied the government's request but accepted Jeffery Burge's home as additional bond.

Fitzy will do all the easy ones - twice. It works in a city where people are fed the fact that Andy Shaw is sharper than a spoon by the media -most folks don't buy that though. Most folks know that guns and drugs flow like honey-dew vine water through the streets of Chicago and that thugs may murder and terrorize with impunity, because Fitzy for Feds and the lesser lights concentrate on the easy cases, the popular ones, the ones where coalitions and mobilized activists can get face-time with Carol Marin and WTTW.

Ali Mohamed. …. trained most of al Qaeda’s top leadership – including Bin Laden and Zawahiri – and most of al Qaeda’s top trainers. He gave some training to persons who would later carry out the 1993 World Trade Center bombing…. From 1994 until his arrest in 1998, he lived as an American citizen in California, applying for jobs as an FBI translator.11

Patrick Fitzgerald knew Ali Mohamed well. In 1994 he had named him as an unindicted co-conspirator in the New York landmarks case, yet allowed him to remain free. This was because, as Fitzgerald knew, Ali Mohamed was an FBI informant, from at least 1993 and maybe 1989.12 Thus, from 1994 “until his arrest in 1998 [by which time the 9/11 plot was well under way], Mohamed shuttled between California, Afghanistan, Kenya, Somalia and at least a dozen other countries.”13 Shortly after 9/11, Larry C. Johnson, a former State Department and CIA official, faulted the FBI publicly for using Mohamed as an informant, when it should have recognized that the man was a high-ranking terrorist plotting against the United States.14

As I say in our book, in 1993 Ali Mohamed had been detained by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Canada, when he inquired at an airport after an incoming al Qaeda terrorist who turned out to be carrying two forged Saudi passports. Mohamed immediately told the RCMP to make a phone call to the United States, and the call secured his release.15 We’ve since been told that it was Mohamed’s West coast FBI handler, John Zent, “who vouched for Ali and got him released.”16

This release enabled Ali to go on to Kenya, take pictures of the U.S. Embassy, and deliver them to bin Laden for the Embassy bombing plot.

In August 2006 there was a National Geographic Special on Ali Mohamed. We can take this as the new official fallback position on Ali Mohamed, because John Cloonan, the FBI agent who worked with Fitzgerald on Mohamed, helped narrate it. I didn’t see the show, but here’s what TV critics said about its contents:

Ali Mohamed manipulated the FBI, CIA and U.S. Army on behalf of Osama bin Laden. Mohamed trained terrorists how to hijack airliners, bomb buildings and assassinate rivals. [D]uring much of this time Mohamed was …, an operative for the CIA and FBI, and a member of the U.S. Army.17 …Mohamed turned up in FBI surveillance photos as early as 1989, training radical Muslims who would go on to assassinate Jewish militant Meir Kahane and detonate a truck bomb at the World Trade Center. He not only avoided arrest, but managed to become an FBI informant while writing most of the al Qaeda terrorist manual and helping plan attacks on American troops in Somalia and U.S. embassies in Africa.18

That Mohamed trained al Qaeda in hijacking planes and wrote most of the al Qaeda terrorist manual is confirmed in a new book by Lawrence Wright, who has seen US Government records.19 Let me say this again: one of al-Qaeda’s top trainers in terrorism and how to hijack airplanes was an operative for FBI, CIA, and the Army.

WORKING FOR AL QAED AND THE FBI

What isn't known and will be revealed for the first time in Triple Cross was that Ali Mohamed had been acting as an FBI informant on the West Coast since 1992 - a year before the WTC bombing carried out by the same cell members he'd trained. More amazing, the revelation that in 1993 Ali had confessed to his hapless West Coast "control" agent John Zent that he was working for bin Laden and had helped set up al Qaeda training camps for jihadis in Khartoum. He'd also admitted that he'd provided al Qaeda members with anti-hijacking and intelligence training in Afghanistan.

If anyone in the bin Laden "office of origin" had been inclined to connect the dots, that single statement to a Special Agent in the San Francisco office should have set off alarm bells at 26 Federal Plaza - home of the FBI's NYO. But it didn't. Worse, when Mohamed was captured by alert Royal Canadian Mounted Police operatives in 1993 while attempting to smuggle al Qaeda terrorist into the U.S. from Vancouver, it was Special Agent Zent who vouched for Ali - effectively springing him from the custody of the Mounties.

After that, on the orders of Mohamed Atef, al Qaeda's military commander, Ali went to Nairobi where he took the pictures of the U.S. Embassy that bin Laden personally used to locate the suicide truck bomb that exploded five years later in August 1998. Along with simultaneous truck bombing in Tanzania 224 people died and 4,000 more were injured.


THE FBI COULD HAVE STOPPED THE EMBASSY BOMBINGS

Using evidence from the SDNY court cases, interviews with current and retired Special Agents and documents from the FBI's own files, I prove in Triple Cross that Patrick Fitzgerald and Squad I-49 in the NYO could have prevented those bombings - not just by getting the truth from FBI informant Ali Mohamed, but by connecting him to Wadih El-Hage, one of the Kenya cell leaders. How would the Feds have done that? Easily.

They'd had wiretaps on El-Hage's Kenyan home since 1996. In August 1997, a year before the bombings, Special Agent Dan Coleman (of I-49) had searched El-Hage's house where he'd found Ali Mohamed's U.S. address and phone number. In fact, Fitzgerald himself had a face to face meeting with Mohamed in Sacramento, California in October 1997.

At that meeting Mohamed boldly told Fitzie that he "loved" bin Laden and didn't need a fatwa to attack the U.S. This "stone-cold" killer who had moved bin Laden and his entire al Qaeda entourage from Afghanistan to Khartoum in 1991 and trained the Saudi Billionaire's personal bodyguards in 1994 - then told Fitzgerald and other I-49 FBI agents including Jack Cloonan that he had dozens of al Qaeda sleepers that he could make operational on a moment's notice and that he himself could disappear at any time.

Then, After Mohamed walked out on him, Fitzgerald turned to Cloonan and declared that Ali was "the most dangerous man" he'd ever met and insisted, "We cannot let this man out on the street." But he did and ten months later in August, 1998 the bombs went off in Africa - delivered by another cell that Ali had helped train. It took Fitzgerald another month before he arrested Mohamed on September 10th bringing his 14 year terror spree to an end.

The immediate threat to the American people from Ali may have ended, but not his threat to the FBI and the Justice Department. You see, Ali, aka "Amiriki" or "Ali the American," was a one-man 9/11 Commission capable of ratting out the Feds on how he had eaten their lunch for years - how the two bin Laden "offices of origin" in the NYO and the SDNY where Fitzgerald was head of Organized Crime and terrorism - had been outgunned by bin Laden and al-Zawahiri dating back to that Calverton, L.I. surveillance in 1989. Fearful of what he would say if put on the stand and subjected to cross examination by defense lawyers in the upcoming Embassy bombing, Fitzgerald made sure that Ali was hidden away under a John Doe warrant. Finally, by October, 2000 Fitzie had cut a deal allowing the master spy to cop a plea and escape the death penalty.

In the end, Fitzgerald made his bones as the Justice Department's top al Qaeda buster by convicting El Hage and several other relatively minor bomb cell members. in U.S. vs. bin Laden in 2001. But the real "mastermind" of the Embassy bombings skated. Mohamed was allowed to slip into the security of custodial witness protection where he remains today - the greatest enigma of the war on terror.

If you are confused by the conflicting stories and waves of faux outrage concerning the 17 year old shot and killed in Sanford, Florida, you are supposed to be.

Sadly, the attention span for too many, but certainly not most Americans, is smaller than a Chicago columnist's ethical capacity. Real reporters get the news to people.

For those who remain unmoved by the injustice ( Me! I'm very sceptical and 'unmoved' by the narrative, for example), the shame and the stain of a rogue band of white police officers who from 1972 to 1991 suffocated, beat and electro-shocked black male suspects to “persuade” them to confess — a fact no longer debated — there is another reason to care.

A Fact No Longer Debated? By whom? Ms. Marin that is one hugely debatable statement that lacks . . . facts. Name one police officer charged, much less convicted of police torture. Can't. Never happened and never will, because the Burge Torture Mythology demands no closure. There is no money in closure; no articles from John Conroy, Sasha Abramsky; no more chilling narratives of the House of Screams no one seemed to hear within its walls (you know, custodians, station hangers-on, pests, criminals, reporters, ADAs, visitors, or cops - of every hue and p[oint of view).

Sun Times NewsPro Natasha Korecki Covers Burge Trial as it Should - Facts, Nothing But the Facts

The Chicago Sun Times has the best reporters and worst columnists in Chicago.

Mark Konkol, Tim Novak, Chris Fusco and sometimes Abdon Pallasch are strong and honest. My favorite read is Natasha Korecki she slides a sentence with the grace of sportswriter Dan McGrath and avoids the posing and posturing of the would be Menckens and Divas.

Paddy Fitz the Fed needs Media Points after his Blago Blunders and here he is playing to his orchestra. The Burge Trial will be a Circus and the Feds will play to the folks who only read what Carol Marin, Mark Brown, Mary Mitchell, and the Sun Times' weak-ass editorial board writes. The Sun Times has talent like Ms. Korecki who will report and not fabricate. BTW- The Sun Times Editorial Board is 10X better than the Chicago Tribune's.

Burge was briefly inside a courtroom addressing the potential jurors who will judge his fate in his trial that starts later this month on obstruction of justice and perjury charges. A pool of jurors were summoned today to fill out a questionnaire but jury selection in the case doesn't begin until May 24. After court, a slow-moving Burge, who lives in Tampa, Fla., said he felt "terrible," physically and that it was "not unusual," to be back in Chicago.

Nearly 80 potential jurors were handed questionnaires in preparation for the upcoming selection.

U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow told the ethnically and racially diverse panel not to read or listen to any media coverage of the case.

While Burge and his underlings have long been accused of torturing suspects into giving confessions, he is not on trial for those actual acts. Burge is accused of lying on a sworn questionnaire that probed him of the alleged practices.

They ( the black persons) come to his home in the afternoon, looking for his business. They find his wife and kids in the house and decide to wait for Soze, er Burge. He comes home to find his wife raped and children screaming. The Black Persons knew Burge was tough, not to be trifled with, so they let him know they meant business.

They tell him they want his territory, all his business. Burge looks over the faces of his family. Then he showed these men of will what will really was.

(Burge shoots two Black persons, then shoots his children and his wife as the last black person watches in surprised horror)

He tells him he would rather see his family dead than live another day after this. He lets the last Black Person go, waits until his wife and kids are in the ground, and then he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids. He kills their wives. He kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they live in, the stores they work in. He kills people that owe them money. And like that, he's gone. Underground. Attitude. It is All Attitude! Nobody's ever seen him since. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. "Rat on your Cop and Jon Burge will get you." But no one ever really believes.

John Dewey and When G. Flint Taylor Met Jon Burge

Outcomes are the beginning and end of what John Dewey calls inquiry. Inquiry is what John Dewey replaced truth with, in not only his philosophy of education being played out so dramatically in the Chicago Teachers Strike, but also his very evolving nature of a Dewey civil society. Truth had always been more evident in mathematics, one philosopher, Descartes,  held that the closest one might come to a perfect concept of Truth was the multiplication table.

John Dewey was influenced by Darwin and the Radical Socialists who followed in the wake of Malthus and Jeremy Bentham, but I am getting deep in the weeds here.

Suffice it say, John Dewey replaced the multiplication table with the new study of biology.  Things morph, evolve and bend to the will.  Social Justice issues and control of the minds of the young are plastic.  Math is static.  

Outcomes/Inquiry/Instrumentalism are themselves outcomes of the Hegelian Will!  John Dewey dismisses Belief, because God has too many manifestations -One God, Three Persons in One God, No God.  Belief is a crap shoot.  Too much math.  With Dewey, Truth became anything.

Inquiry depends upon future outcomes that satisfy the inquiry itself.

Western thought holds that truth can be known by causes. What caused the accident?  Who, or what caused Man?  Dewey understood that children needed to "child-centered" and constantly at play - The teacher is not in the school to impose ( Like old time Catholic nuns) certain ideas or to form certain ( like Catholic Schools) habits in the child, but is there as a member of the community to select the influences which shall affect the child and to assist him in properly responding to these influences - John Dewey ( parentheticals my own)

As both a child and a teacher allow me this playful inquiry.  G. Flint Taylor has made millions of dollars by bringing suit against the police, especially his vilification of the now notorious and convicted perjure Jon Burge.  Through Burge, G. Flint selectively influenced generations of young Americans into the truth that he and most police officers tortured black men twenty-four hours a day and all without a shred of proof or a court sanctioned conviction of torture. G. Flint Taylor has done John Dewey proud. Everyone, but me and a couple of cops, believes that Jon Burge is race-torture's eponym.

A lawyer ran a stop sign in 1972 and subsequently was  pulled over by a young red-haired, beefy Chicago cop.G. Flint Taylor went to Brown University and had a degree from Northwestern Law thinks that he is smarter than the Vietnam Vet because he is a lawyer  and is certain that he has a better education than any cop from Chicago. G. Flint decides to prove this to himself and have some fun at the deputy's expense.

Officer Jon Burge says, "License and registration, please."

G. Flint Taylor challenges the simple cop, "If you can show me the legal difference between               slow down and stop, I'll give you my license and registration; and you give me the ticket. If not, you let me go and don't give me the ticket."

 Burge shrugs, "Sounds fair. Exit your vehicle, sir."

Taylor says, "What for?"

Burge says, " You didn't come to a complete stop at the stop sign."

G. Flint argues, "I slowed down, and no one was coming."

Officer Burge undeterred  stands fast, "You still didn't come to a complete stop. License and registration, please."

G. Flint goes Sophist, "What's the difference?"

The empirical Burge  answers, "The difference is, you have to come to complete stop, that's the law. License and registration, please!"

At this point, Officer Burge takes out his nightstick and starts beating the ever-loving crap out of the lawyer and says, "Do you want me to stop or just slow down?

 As Jack Dewey said, "Till the Great Society is converted in to a Great Community, the Public will remain in eclipse. Communication can alone create a great community" 

Control communication and you eclipse everything.

Wonder how the CPS strike will outcome? It will outcome fine. We will all win, because inquiry made it so. Do not believe and certainly do not do the math. It's a Dewey thing.

1. No physical or corroborating evidence ever has been brought to bear in any number of attempts to bring Chicago Police Commander Jon Burge to trial

2. It seems to me that the media got on board of the bus driven entirely by radicals of Peoples Law Office, which succeeded in drawing in the national media back in the 1970's to discredit the FBI - G. Flint Taylor was that Boy Wonder and he brokered the media's love affair with this issue.

3. Four Mayors - Byrne, Washington, Orr, and Sawyer did nothing to spark inquiry into the issue

4. G. Flint Taylor and his cooperating witnesses - The Chicago Media - have orchestrated the case.


5. Okay, Fitzy! Let's see what you have.

6. I would not know Jon Burge if he walked on me. I do not know if he tortured anyone and neither did the Commission that spent 7 million dollars - that did not give Flint Taylor his money. Prove it Fitzy. I have yet to beimpressed with the Federal Prosecutor. Jon Burge was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice by Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald.

That, to my knowledge, is only time that Jon Burge was convicted of anything and that trial, in my opinion, was scripted over the last thirty years by G. Flint Taylor.

Mr. Burge’s accusers and their advocates are questioning why the city is continuing to pick up the costly tab for his defense after he was found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice on June 28. Mr. Burge, 62, has been a defendant in 17 civil rights lawsuits filed in federal court.

Jon Burge grew up in the working class Irish communities of southern Chicago. A red-head with a pugilist's frame, he served as a military policeman during the Vietnam War.
