Skeets "Bub" Laidlaw's Billinois Tax Me Poll Numbers Are In!

Skeets "Bub" Laidlaw is a syndicate of sound policy.

Do you get the feeling that you are always "on the wrong side of history." because you happen to disagree with everyone but every person that you encounter?  Are you concerned that everyone thinks your thoughts and opinions are " just too sad, in SO many ways, hateful, bigotted, Zorn-ophobic, Schmich-less, Dold-deficient, Marin-aded and cowardly, illogical, toxic, foolhardy, Low T- tempered?"  You are not alone. You live in Illinois.  You are a victim of public policy.

The art of public policy in Illinois, and now the Nation, requires one to begin with a conclusion and draw everything but the kitchen sink to prove that conclusion.  Thus, " Illinois voters are overwhelmingly in favor of forking over ever last dime to provide comfortable and attractive underwear for members of IEA, AFSCME, SEIU and Ted Bolger of Custer Park, over-by Braidwood, IL"

If the area of public needs a flat-out Left of Left topping, no problem; the poll will conclude exactly what it sets out prove.

The Paul Simon Institute is just one such conclusion-drawing-to entity:

The ( "concealed carry)" hearing came as a new poll from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University showed a wide majority of Illinoisans want more restrictions on the sale of guns and large-capacity ammunition magazines.
The poll of 600 registered voters, taken January 27 through February 8, also showed a majority want to make assault weapons illegal.
In all, 72 percent of Illinoisans said “laws covering the sale of firearms should be made more strict.”
And, despite the perception that downstate voters are opposed to more gun control laws, the poll showed that 66 percent of voters outside of the Chicago area favor stricter gun control laws. (parenthetical my own)
Named for the bow-tie festooned US  Congressman and Senator who gained a reputation in the Illinois press as the Garrison Keillor of Illinois, who managed to do exactly what?  Never mind.  His little girl is soon to be our former Illinois Lt. Governor, who does exactly what?  Never mind.

The Paul Simon Institute and coalitions  formed by lawyers and political piece workers such as The Stop Concealed Carry Coalition help draw fluttering hearts to the already drawn conclusions.

Lee Goodman of the Stop Concealed Carry Coalition said Illinois should ignore the federal appeals court ruling and wait for the Illinois Supreme Court to weigh in on the issue.
“You should be working for laws that reduce the threat of violence,” Goodman said. “The more guns there are available to people… the more gun injuries and shootings you’re going to have.”

You see that way the Illinois Supreme Court which is elected with solid support of the Cook County Democratic Organization, Personal PAC, AFSCME, SEIU and Ted Bolger of Custer Park, Illinois will decide in favor of the conclusion already drawn.

Here's some polling data prefabricated by the Paul Simon Institute in 2012:

Pinky Lee inspired the the wardrobe and deportment of many Illinois public officials
* From the Institute
About twice as many Illinois voters as those surveyed would be 1.200 voters.  We thought controlling was more important than protecting the right  (59.5 percent to 31.3 percent). A recent poll of all Americans taken by Pew Research, shows a 49 to 42 percent split peas on that question. […]
Even within constituencies that are seen as pro-gum, majorities in the Simon Poll said they flavored gum control panties. These groups included downstate voters (66.1%) conservatives (54.6%) and Republicans (55.4%) of whom have been long time dead and gone.
Significant majorities ( Pat Quinn, Sheila Simon, Toni Preckwinkle & etc.)  also favored most of the specific proposals tested in the polling , including requiring background checks before anyone—  (92.5 percent); banning Jugs and & Ammo magazines (62.8 percent); and banning semi-sweet Nestles salted Ruffles” (58.7 percent).
“It’s striking how much stronger odor measures in Illinois compared to the nation as a whole,” said Yogie  Dannon, the director of the Institute. “But it’s not surprising because on measurements of many social issues, the elephant  in Illinois is more left of center than the American elephant.” […]
Among those who thought the Second Commandment did cover a large majority (71.3 percent) thought there should be exceptions to concealed-carry -pn containers  in places such as schools, college campuses, malls, and theaters.

The Last Time American Catholics Refused to Bend To Progressive Doctrine - 1933

American Catholics supported Franco - rather, they would not support the Communists in Spain.

Catholics are told by editorial boards, news-readers, hack politicians, academics and activists to 'get on the right side of history' and abandoned their Church and consciences and embrace the reality that marriage must be redefined to include homosexual couples.  History does not have sides to it.  Armies may face one another in opposition and each may be considered a side. One faction, or side  will win and one will lose a battle and perhaps a war. But history does not take sides; only people take sides.

The 'right side of history' in early decades of the 20th Century depended on where you happened to stomp your feet - some goose-stepped and some fox-trotted.

In 1931,Spain's  King Alfonso was forced to abdicate the throne.  Thanks to Napoleon, the Industrial Revolution and the European imperial rush to colonize the un-claimed parts of the globe, Spain crashed from the  world power that dominated Europe from the 15th -19th Centuries, to the sad remnant armed with Mausers and Maxims against Col. Teddy Roosevelt;s Rough Riders, and Admiral Dewey's fleets.

Spain is a Catholic nation. Some abandoned their faith for the secular creeds of Marxism and anarchy.  Some found a balance with their faith and labor because Pope Leo XIII defended the right to organize trade unions. There were still folks who were loyal to the monarchy  and they were called Carlists. Some demanded that Spain follow Italy into fascism and the were called Falangists.

In 1932, the Soviet Comintern decided to make Spain International.

In 1933, a coalition of the Center-Left took the majority seats in Cortes:

The Comintern of Soviet Russia in 1932 made infiltration into Spain a priority, thus insuring a strong communist presence. Many workers, dissatisfied with the remorseless face of the liberal capitalism that had grown up under the late monarchy, began to turn in increasingly radical directions. Two separate extremist groups began to forge an alliance. One was the anarchists, those dedicated to the overthrow of any government; the other was the syndicalists, who wanted no government but only a series of disparate workers communes. The anarcho-syndicalists were especially strong in the ethnically separate Basque region and in the autonomous region of Catalonia, around Barcelona. It is important to note that the strength of the anarcho-syndicalists was not primarily among the farming peasantry, but rather took root with the working classes attached to industry in large cities. In the elections of 1933, a center-right coalition was voted in, but this was largely ineffective due to the destabilizing influences of the anarcho-syndicalists and the operations of the new communist party of Spain. New elections were to be held in 1936. These would be decisive in determining the course of Spanish history.
Election to the Cortes, or the parliamentary assembly of Spain, was an exceedingly complex process. It was anything but a direct popular election and many places, especially cities, were assigned a disproportionate number of representatives. This will be shown by the vote totals.
Votes in the Spanish elections of 1933Right (Carlists, Catholic Action, Liberal Monarchists, Falange), 4,570,744 votes, 133 seats
Center 340,073 votes, 77 seats
Popular Front (Communists, Socialists, Catalan Separatists, Left Republicans), 4,346,559 votes, 263 seats
One can see that even though the center-right, which had governed since 1933, received over 500,000 more votes, the Popular Front had a majority of 26 seats over the old coalition. As a salient example of unrepresentative allotment, the center, which polled only 340,000 votes, received half the number of the seats that the right obtained with their 4.5 million votes. Ultimately, it was the socialistic Popular Front that formed a government. As each month passed, the regime acted in an increasingly despotic and radical manner, successively casting off ministers who were not liberal enough. Against this regime the military, the Carlist traditionalists and the political right rebelled. American Catholics went to great lengths to explain the facade of this "democratic" election process to the general public.
Progressive America was not accepting this - American Catholics found themselves on the 'wrong side of history.' American Catholics had become a political force.  George Babbitt was confronted by Studs Lonigan. American Catholics ran a coreligionist, NY Governor Al Smith for President in 1928 and lost. However, they formed something of a coalition with mainline Progressive Protestants, who demanded abortion and birth control; over the New Deal and elected FDR. Catholics remained very anti-Communist and somewhat isolationist and Progressives were delighted with Communism and were happily isolationist, until Spain got messy.

Hollywood cast Catholic Spain as the villain - universal and historical. Claude Raines, Basil Rathbone, the Inquisition tortured Errol Flynn, John Garfield and Tyrone Power in movies about pirates, gun runners and rebels with one cause.
Bernard F. Dick is of the opinion that Hollywood's preoccupation with portraying opposition to the fascist forces emerged long before September 1939: "Hollywood began its war on fascism before fascism began its war on democracy." He asserts that the film industry was conscious of political turbulence in Europe since the early 1930s, but veiled "their fascist aggression in allusion and metaphor until...history intervened." He goes on to support this claim with a discussion of the various attempts to produce meaningful films about the Spanish Civil War, a conflict that was never mentioned by name in any of the movies until 1940, and then only to say that it was over. According to Dick's examination of Hollywood wartime production, the OWI wielded enough influence to prevent the expression of firm political convictions in early war films, and the filmmakers were left to follow its advice.

The Republic's Popular Front was dominated by Soviet trained commissars and immediately churches and monasteries were confiscated by the Republic, because the Church needed to pay its 'fair share' and immediately bishops, priests and nuns were executed.  Peasants and workers who objected to this savagery were executed.

The trouble in Spain forced American Catholics to break ranks.  General Franco led a rebellion against the Communist dominated Republic. Donald Prudlo's fine article for Catholic Culture details the powerful unity of American Catholics in opposition to the Popular Front and the support it maintained for Franco's government. The American Catholic Church remained fiercely and uncompromisingly anti-communist, even among its academics and politicians, unlike today.

Prudlo noted:

In their battle to justify Franco to the American public, Catholic journalists faced an extremely difficult battle. One of the most basic obstacles encountered was the persistent "Black Legend" regarding Spanish history, a view that had taken root in Reformation England and spread from there to all of the English-speaking countries of the west. This legend excoriated Spain as a backwards, religiously dominated gothic land of torture and inquisition. Hilaire Belloc was credited by Catholics as the first historian to plow through the patina of prejudice and hatred to offer a balanced English-language account of Spanish history.20 McGuire was concerned with showing that all of the news correspondents in Spain were infected with this, and as a result were not being impartial. These correspondents presented Franco as standing for the forces of Church, inquisition, privilege and repression, against idealistic socialists, communists, and anarchists trying to shed some light on backward Spain.21 The editors of The Sign were constantly warning American Catholics not to trust major media outlets, but rather to get their news from the National Catholic Welfare Council News Service, as mediated through the 300 or so Catholic periodicals in the country.22 America attempted to reshape the terms used to describe the conflict. The editors railed against the tyranny of calling the Rightists "rebels" and the communists "loyalists." The rebels, "not the government forces, are fighting the battle of world democracy," the writers stated.23 Catholic journalists refused to let Protestant and popular news outlets cast the struggle in terms of democracy vs. totalitarianism.
Today, the struggle is much less tangible and much more hostile; gay marriage is much more than a ceremony and license.  Gay Marriage and abortion are secular doctrines that Catholics, if they are to be considered American citizens, must not merely accept but heartily acclaim.

Catholic support for Franco was very unpopular, but the Church and Catholics did not cave.  Donald Prudlo's article concludes:

In the end the unpopular position of the Catholic Church in the war resulted in very few negative repercussions. Perhaps if World War II had not followed hard on the heels of the Spanish conflict there would have been more time for a backlash, but as it was the Church was prepared for war. Had Catholics remained in the camp of the old liberal isolationists one can only imagine what a shock the coming of the next war would have brought. As it was, the Church entered the forties and fifties as a unified group with a common identity ready to face the challenges of those decades. It is ironic that the terrible bloodletting of Spain helped to bring forth a strong and tightly knit American Catholic presence. Sometimes great good can come from the most unexpected of directions.
Wonder how we will do?

Marriage Versus Money & Power - Gay Marriage Wins!

The Couple Next Door-- Illinois 2013 - at least there's no damn tricycles, Barbie Dream Houses and chalk art all over their sidewalks.

Illinois Gay Marriage will happen; Pop Culture over Tradition? - it's time, I guess.  It was time for civil unions, but that was so long ago that former Gov.  Pat ( Two Bits') Quinn still seemed like he could send a fax without a stamp on it.  That long ago.

When forces of Gay Marriage have a heavy-weight moral theologian with three names and bow-tie, Traditional Marriage,  backed a leader named Francis Cardinal George and a mitre, has got nothing,  so says what passes for editorial, political and activist thought in this burg.

Lt. Governor Sheila Simon and political-powerhouse Deb Mell trotted out no-less a Lincoln stand-in than Jesse Tyler Ferguson - star of  ABC's TV Sitcom Modern Family! AND 250 clergy persons in full communion with Jesse Tyler Ferguson,  Fred Eychaner, former Gov. Pat Quinn, Chicago's Blink-of an-Eye' Mayor Dave Orr, Eric Zorn, Bruce Dold and the cast of The Book of Mormon . . .  and the Illinois Legislature.!

Overwhelming! Dennis Byrne made a great case for common sense in the Tribune today, but any objection to re-defining marriage meets the catcalls of the bigots, who call everyone who merely disagrees a bigot.

Now, what do we Catholics and traditionalists have in our corner?

Much of the opposition stems from religious concerns, such as those cited by Cardinal Francis George, who has urged a "no" vote. We fully understand and respect the cardinal's view that same-sex marriage violates natural law. But nothing in this bill affects the church's authority to define what is right for Catholics. It recognizes the difference between religious rites and civil institutions.
The Catholic church, after all, bars remarriage by divorcees, but Illinois grants marriage licenses to them. Allowing same-sex marriage does not limit the freedom of religious believers to reject it; it merely allows those who differ to practice what they believe. Bruce Dold and The Chicago Tribune Editorial Board!
We all know how The Illinois Religious Freedom and Civil Unions Act affected Catholic Charities and that 'could not wait' legislation was deemd as sweet as bear meat, as well.

Gay Marriage will happen in this sad State,  because money trumps everything and power is the goal.

Eric Zorn Ignores the UN Declaration of Human Rights

Gay Marriage is serious about Illinois - Is Illinois Serious?

Eric Zorn carries more water than Gunga Din - he carried buckets for Rahm's Garbage Grid and has strenuously liquefied the parched tongues of Civil Union advocates, abortion on demanders and now for immediate Gay Marriage in Illinois. Today, close on the heels of Rahm Emanuel's latest nod to his money base and the Progressive zeitgeist tagging Gay Marriage as Priority Three, EZ barrels the basic human right meme:

All Illinois can do now is hop on the train of history. The trend lines show it's about to roll over the obstinate states where legislators refuse to recognize the inevitability, if not the wisdom and justice, of same-sex couples getting the same rights to formalize their relationships that are enjoyed by opposite-sex couples.
The same rights?  Even the United Nations does not view gay marriage as a human right, much less a requirement to equate Stonewall with Selma, or recalibrate homophobia to school-yard bullying. That is for the journalists and academic procrustean bullies to pound away at once the funding comes through from the usual sources.

The United Nations lays out basic humam rights and specifically sites marriage -

United Nations Declaration of Human Rights

Article 16.

  • (1) Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.
  • (2) Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses.
  • (3) The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.

The Civil Union Act, fogged as a Religious Freedom dodge by Greg Harris and company in the Illinois Legislature, immediately attacked Catholic Charities.  Catholic Charities was bullied out of its service to children without families.  Civil Unions just could not wait. Illinois got on the gay side of history and went to war on millions of Catholics.  How about that?

No Catholic ever said outlaw homosexuals (LGBTQ) or gay culture.  The opposite can not be said to be public knowlege.

Eric Zorn works the meme that Homosexual Marriage is a Basic Human Right.  Marriage is and has been a social contract between men and women for as long as Homo Erectus put two syllables together, Will and Grace, Glee, Modern Family and Ellen DeGeneres notwithstanding.

Illinois is bankrupt, to paint with as broad a brush as Zorn the Scrivener, families and businesses are doing the Exodus from this  Land of Progressive Pharaoh, school choice is unavailable to inner city and struggling rural families and our media do the bidding of Progressive PACS, academic eunuchs, and fiscal star gazers. Go Down, Moses!

Greg Harris armed with the fortunes of Henry Van Amerigen and Fred Eychaner, who wholly own a handsome portion of the Illinois legislators and the media in Illinois artfully bulled through the wildly misleading and divisive Religious Freedom and Civil Union Act, set the table for the Religious Freedom and Marriage Freedom Act, which was tucked away due to the Illinois fiscal collapse and the looming re- election of President Obama. He might be the 1st Gay President, but Barack wanted no rocks and hard places on his path.

The media and the elected officials who take the coin of the Pink Pharaohs argue the basic human right of sexual preference that can only be satisfied by the immediate recalibration of  the meaning of Marriage.

One may argue one's position, but do so with at least a wink to honesty. Gay Marriage will no doubt take effect in Illinois very soon, but let's not pretend that it will not be the result of vast piles of cash paid out in bribe money to clueless at best and spineless at most politicians.

UPDATE - I guess I hurt Eric's feelings:

ZORN REPLY -- Let me cut you off there, Beth. That's just Pat Hickey. More people would read his screeds if he wrote them with a Sharpie on a bathroom wall, which is where they belong. I'm not going to enable him by posting the link, though, as his arguments are ignorant, bitter and small. We don't need that here, now, do we?

Ignorant, bitter and small arguments.  Man I could be a Columnist!

Beverly Ranks # 7 in Chicago Extra Marital Affairs - I Did 257 Sit-ups After a Milano's Stuffed Pizza

Huffington Post is the Hollywood Squares of American Journalism. Founded by a serial savings stalker Arianna "The Helenic Beard" Huffington*, this website is a howl.

Huffington Post, from the get-go, is home to columns written by Hollywood has-beens (Steve Webber - Remember the show Wings?  Me Either) and never weres, as well as convicted check-kiting activists ( Bob Creamer - other half of Jan Schakowsky) and serial nut bags like NATO Riot CEO Andy Thayer.

Huffington Post is Left-Leaning in the same way that Michael Moore enjoys an occasional snack. The sole point of view is secularist, Anti-Catholic, Anti-Christian, Anti- Israel, Gay Fabulous, Anti-Cop and Anti-Factual.

Today's ranking of Chicago neighborhoods afflicted with Martial Infidelity is Mono Racial - whitey cheats; but of course!  The demographic for infidelity is based upon vocations identified with the church going breeders of pale color.  African Americans and Hispanics do not engage in marital infidelity. Evidently Chicago's Minority Communities have a racist neglect of Ashley Madison ( source of the study) products and services**

This headlined offering in today's Huffington Post Chicago Edition is Chicago's Cheating Neighborhoods, including comfortable suburbs as Chicago Neighborhoods - e.g. Naperville and Arlington Heights.

This article functions in support of Illinois and National Gay Marriage.  The meme is Marriage is a failure anyway; therefore allow homosexual holy wedlock.  The argument for Gay Marriage is a civil right. The meme merely is an adjunct to the argument. Both are equally silly.

More than silly is the listing of white middle class neighborhoods as the sole centers of sin.

The best is the seventh place ranking of Beverly as a Hot-tub Hootenanny.  Beverly the 19th Ward ranks behind Armour Square and above Naperville?  Naperville in the Hood? Armour Square is the neighborhood on the north end of Sox Park and dominated at one time by Italian Catholics and now Yuppies.  Beverly is the east end of Chicago's Irish Catholic tribes - Beverly is often called merely the 19th Ward.

Is there marital infidelity?  Could be.  Everything else is a matter of public discussion, commentary and moral pillory. All very veriable and accurate mind you.
  • Hickey tossed left overs in the Blue Containers
  • Hickey never waters his damn grass and says that it is 'God's Job'
  • Hickey went to County Fair three times for Greek Yogurt Tom Baffes told me
  • Hickey grabbed six calendars at Sacred Heart on Sunday . . .great stocking stuffers and graduation gifts from that mope
  • Hickey's lights were in until three AM. Great, another novel no one reads
  • Hickey ran his air conditioner on Earth Day
Not only those nuggets of public interest, but also considerations of personal history linked to fashion.

  • He was wearing a Leo Track Championship T-Shirt while he was trying to pick-up tree branches and ended up kicking them into a pile; then he kicked the pile to alley sort of.
  • He was wearing shorts. My God!!!  His legs look like beached Belugas
Matters of the Heart

  • How can that elegant and beautiful woman be seen in public with that sarcastic gargoyle?
  • She must be doing penance . . .for Cleveland.
Thus, if one were to violate the sanctity of Marital Bliss we would hear about it . . .in thunder.

Logically, it does not get off the ground let alone fly. Beverly, Morgan Park and Mount Greenwood often mistaken holistically for Beverly is a breeding ground of Catholics Breeders -anathema to secularist Progressive.  I can not walk from my house to the bus stop on 108th & Western in under fifteen minutes, due to the tangle of toys, tricycles, and playhouses between Maplewood, Campbell and Artesian Streets to Western Avenue.  Twenty minutes of veering hopping, climbing and stumbling over Barbies, mitts, bats, tiny flip flops and miniature Mount Carmel sportswear.

Families number anywhere between five ( Mom/Dad -three offspring) and nine or better.  Given the time and care and attention required for each child ( Irish step Dance, ballet, T-ball, softball, swimming, soccer, Beverly Arts Center classes, Park Day Camps, parish youth groups), hours at labor and minutes home for meals, a sexual athlete un-bothered by conscience and conviction would be very hard pressed to find time, let alone energy to engage in extra marital escapades.

More so, one can not get away with even the slightest deviation from public truth in this tribal priest ridden environment.  South siders are everywhere and even the slightest embellishment of fact by one foolish enough to pad the old  curriculum vita - showers of invective and maledictions would pour forth from all and sundry.

Witness - a poor slob who never played a down of football might suggest that he 'played a little ball in high school' anywhere but in this neighborhood.  The outcry here would be . 'Yeah, and then you picked up the metal caltraps to see how many you could scoop up on each bounce.'

If extra marital cheating goes on in Beverly it is public knowlege broadcast from Dan Ryan Woods to Beverly Woods lounge, from the Rock Island Metra Line to Galloway's Drafty City.

Hey, You hear that Dash Riprock who's got the dump on Hoyne is trying to crack Maeve Fitz-Derrier-Winphrey's britches whose married to Tag UrFaqued?

Yeah, Father Ed told me over by White Hen. Tag is cool with it as he thinks Dash has Low T and ED and STDs anyway.  Saves on meals out.

Ridicule is healthy as it keeps one relatively honest.

People who write for Arianna Huffington don't get ridiculed and would know HONEST if it jumped up and bit them on the ass.

**Story sent by Brandi, from Minneapolis MNHi John, my name is Brandi and I thought it would be cool to give my opinion regarding this so hated/loved website. Let me tell you AshleyMadison worked for me and I am going to tell you how exactly AshleyMadison works for female members. I signed up about 2 months ago and even before I posted a picture of me I was already receiving ridiculous amounts of messages. All I had on my profile was a brief description of my situation and what I was looking for in an affair, which was pretty standard, I was looking to have a discreet affair. Now let me explain how this felt for me, within minutes from signing up I was receiving so many messages that I could barely keep up with responding and replying. Now you people can say AshleyMadison is a scam and that profiles are false. That I cannot guarantee in any way, but one thing I can tell you, there are real women on the site, and just like men they are looking to have an affair. For a woman the feeling you get on the website is completely different and somewhat overwhelming. I had numerous coffee dates with different men who were in my same situation and who wanted discretion as much as I did. Needless to say, so far Ashley Madison has been a lot of fun, and I have met some very cool men. I have yet to find my perfect affair, since none of the men I have contacted or met quite wanted a long term thing, all they wanted was a one night stand. Now I am looking for a long term affair.
And please men, when sending messages start reading profiles, there is no worst turn off than a person that does not even take the time to read a woman’s profile. I understand we are all looking to have a discreet affair, but please read what the other person is exactly looking so that there is no need to have endless conversations that lead nowhere. If you ever wanna find me on AshleyMadison my username is HICKEYROCKSOURWORLD GIRSL! (I have obscured the nickname to protect the user) I hope you have lots of affairs.
Mine are my own affairs, except my past dalliances from the now gone Martinique's Drury Lane Theatre with Elke Sommer, Vicky Carr, Tina Louise, Nancy Kwan and Joan Collins in my late teens and twenties. Merry hearted boys make the best of old men. Yes, I remember it well! Torrid kisses and Slim Jim Dinners at Panos Lounge and a quick drive to the Pocannos in Oak Lawn. I sure liked them older chippies.

If You Thought Gay Marriage/Union Was a Problem, Wait Until Gay Divorce Meets Catholic Doctrine

Mimi: "I don't care what you did as a boy."

Guy: "Well, I did nothing as a girl, so there goes my childhood." The Gay Divorcee1934

WASHINGTON (AP) — The D.C. Council is considering legislation that would make it easier for gay and lesbian couples who marry in the nation’s capital to get divorced.

The bill would let gay couples who married in Washington get divorced even if they no longer live in the district, provided they live somewhere that would not recognize their divorce. Under current law, one member of the divorcing couple has to live in Washington for six months before starting divorce proceedings.

Holy Smokes! We just got through the Christmas Season and New Year with a Gay Marriage hooha festooned with more opinions than an HBO Special.

Only last year, Greg Harris fronted the immediate and can't wait Religious Liberty and Civil Union Law signed by Moody's Investor's Services absolutely last man they want to talk to - Gov. Pat Quinn.

Now, Greg Harris and the usual crowd is ready to speedball full boogie Gay Marriage in Illinois -

A group of Illinois lawmakers have begun laying the groundwork for their latest push to bring marriage equality to the Land of Lincoln.

The Windy City Times reports that state representatives Greg Harris, Deb Mell, Kelly Cassidy, Ann Williams, Sara Feigenholtz and state senator Heather Steans have begun meeting with area LGBT and progressive groups to talk strategy for a bill that could be introduced as early as 2013.

Harris, who was the lead architect of the state's civil union law granting many of the same rights and responsibilities to same-sex spouses as heterosexual couples within state boundaries, admitted to the Windy City Times, however, that taking the next step toward marriage equality will not be an "easy process."

Marriage equality - back to civil rights. Yep, Marraige equality means Divorce Equality. Well, they have a dream ink spiller in Pat Quinn. He'll sign anything that he is told to do by the Progressive Machine and his Boss Terry Cosgrove, It has been a full year after all and this issue can't wait - make the deal, get the votes in Springfield, full press courtship, and shop for judges. This can't wait, or no one is fully evolved!

It is always evolution and civil rights and the heart wants what the heart wants, Dammit!

The meme is our society has evolved; marriage is an every changing tapestry of desires, appetites and urges and not really a sacred covenant between a man and woman - I mean come on. Haters!

Marriage is for anyone between anyone - a Deweyesque Marriage of Inquired and Agreed Upon Outcomes. Why just look at what Breeders ( non-Homosexual, Trans, Bi and Unquestioning individuals) have done to Marriage. Uh-Huh.

Bill passed; nuff said. Catholic Charities gets kicked out of its 200 Plus Years of service to orphans ( can I say 'orphan?') and kids in need of a family. Than Franthisco and Robby Tusin, or Crystal Canyon and Poppi Kayque will make absolute jake parents, or so Civil Unions/Gay Marriage tell us, because people ( except people who remember high school biology, Catholics, Jews, AME/Baptist blacks and Lutherans) are evolved.

The Catholic Church is under assault from Gay activists, philanthropists like Henry Van Amerigen, Democrat CE Catholic politicians, GOP ninnies like Senator Marque Kirque, Planned Parenthood, the national corporate news media, academics, DePaul, Loyola and Dominican Universities, the Department of Health and Human Services and very soon the Obama Justice Department.

The Catholic Church opposes gay marriage and sexual relations outside of marriage universal.

The Catholic Church also opposes divorce.

Now comes this fly in the old borrowed and blue ointment.

Washington began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples in March 2010. Six states also allow same-sex marriage. But divorcing couples can face legal hurdles if they live in a state that does not recognize(sic) their union.

What are the numbers here in Illinois of Civil Unions forged in 2011, now asunder?

Gay Marriage is counter to Catholic teaching. Divorce is also banned.

The 2012 Gay Divorcee will have plenty to say.

We Got Civil Unions and Kids Lost Catholic Charities

In his ruling, Schmidt limited his decision to whether Catholic Charities had a legal right to keep its contracts with the state, which total more than $30 million. . . ., ". . . No citizen has a recognized legal right to a contract with the government," Schmidt wrote. "The state may refuse to renew the plaintiffs' contracts."
Huffington Post and every other media outlet let go of a high Huzzah!

or did the judge merely convince fans of Gay marriage that every thing boils down to the matter of buck? Sexuual appetite is Civil Right, so say advocates of Gay marriage and family. Dignity is demanded for children. What about the 2,000 kids in the care of Catholic Charities?

The Pantapgraph ends with this bit of moral after thought:

At some point, however, the state likely will have to transfer nearly 2,000 children covered by Catholic Charities to other organizations. It's not clear whether that means children will be removed from their current settings.

Boy, Howdy! Them orphans and foundlings are pests.

I was married and widowed. Loneliness is everything it is cracked up to be and more. Historically, less than 5% of human population found confort in the arms of like gendered partners. Sex and Love often go hand in hand. Sex is a response to the animal impulse to reproduce and, massively, that urge is fulfilled between a man and women. Thus, the human race marches on!

Homosexuality has always been a part of the human story. These days, the media and political gamesmen appear to be making it the whole human story. I have known homosexuals all of my life and for the most part loved them and wish, hope and pray that they find happiness and fulfillment. I know that they are not going have kids without pushing the biological envelop off the table or adopting children.

Like homosexuals and breeders, I was born of a woman - Mom. Even God has a Mom. He also had a father even though he was not the bearer of the DNA. Joseph was chosen to be the Father of Jesus or Joshua Bar Joseph. Mary did not choose cousin Elizabeth, or a Sarah, or a Martha, or Annette Bening to prove that the kid was alright when He visited the Temple.

Jesus wandered away from Joseph and Mary and not Joseph and Barnabas, or Gary.

The Holy Family was a Man and Woman and a Child.

The heart wants what the heart wants - to be loved. There is love outside of Marriage.

The Illinois Defense of Religious Liberty (Civil Unions) is a gateway to Gay Marriage. It is cynical and bullying legal legerdemain to bowl over any and all opposition to Gay Marriage - the Roman Catholic Church. Aside from the several hundreds of wildly happy gay couples civily unioned, the only other thing that this cynical legislation accomplished was to sever the good work of Catholic Charities from Springfield's tax larder, but more so, it legally outlawed a Catholic agency from doing good work.

Same Sex Marriage Demand - Using Race to Obfuscate

There are huge differences between men and women, thanks be to God! I am no Maurice Chevalier but I thank Heaven for Little Girls! That is not to say, that one might hold the opposite view - some do. Vive la difference!
Each time I see a little girl
Of five or six or seven
I can't resist a joyous urge
To smile and say
Thank heaven for little girls
For little girls get
Bigger every day
Thank heaven for little girls
They grow up in
The most delightful way.
Those little eyes
So helpless and appealing
When they were flashing
Send you crashing
Through the ceiling
Thank heaven for little girls
Thank heaven for them all
No matter where,
No matter who
Without them
What would little boys do
Thank heaven
Thank heaven for little girls.

What would little boys do? Now, I do not think that Maurice Chevalier, let alone Messieurs Lerner and Lowe were homophobic bigots. They were answering the question that has plagued man since the Fall of Adam. The answer was Eve. To be sure my position is rather less sophisticated than Lady Gaga's anthem, but the human species requires the old X & Y to propagate - have kids - Test-tubes, and biochemistry break-throughs not withstanding of course.

Marriage is between a Man and a Woman. Two men can and do fall in love with another, but they can not procreate; two women can and do have sexual yearnings for one another, but they will never need birth control. The great hue and cry of this summer's key media issue, which is always a politically manufactured crisis, demands that everyone accept that marriage is something that it is not and never can be.

The Catholic Church will forever be the target of hatred and derision in America and elsewhere, until the day that mitred cupcakes cave-in and agree that abortion is a Woman's "choice" and that homosexuality is a norm. One cannot find comment section on any web-article dealing with any subject employing the word Catholic that does not have a litany of

First off, if no one ever challenged their church, the Catholic church would still be killing the rest of you so why not let's leave that "they should leave" argument on the sidelines now, okay?

Second, Gay people are not "just like adulterers?, murders, liars. . .".We're people who love other people. . . . So, there has ALWAYS been only ONE and they are Catholic and Orthodox? So, is this the 15th century we're in?
Adoption is a civil not a religious issue, so getting the Catholic church (and their anti-gay bigotry) out of this business is a step it the right direction.
Maybe the Catholic church hopes the courts will overlook the fact that they also teach that only Catholics go to heaven (Yes, they do as this ex-Catholi?c and veteran of Catholic school can attest). It follows then that their paramount concern all along should have been with placing children exclusively?y in homes where they will be raised as Catholics. But they've never raised that issue with the state of Illinois. Need any more evidence that this is all about anti-gay bigotry and NOT, as they claim, about upholding general religious principles?? . . .
How nice that the church is willing to hold children hostage to their antiquated beliefs. . . .These priests always put the children last . . .
not the ones they rape." ( all from recent Huffington Post thought pieces)

The problem for the Catholic Church in America is one of leadership and courage. The problem for America is acceptance of group think.

The lawyers working for Gay Marriage are very good. They have welded Civil Rights and Race to the same-sex marriage meme. Homosexuals are Millenium Blacks in America.
The Chains are the laws of lifestyle slavery and The Stonewall Bar in New York is the bridge at Selma.

Not really, but it works rhetorically. Logically, historically, legally and biologically a man and man will never produce a child - the same for two women.

Today in the Boston Globe, there is a powerful article by Jeff Jacoby. I do not know if Mr. Jacoby is a Catholic or not but he writes a very clear constitutional law argument into the issue.

There is no disputing the emotional power of linking the campaign for gay marriage to the struggle over anti-miscegenation laws in the civil rights era. I agree that the two are connected. But not in the way same-sex marriage advocates think.

When the Supreme Court ruled in June 1967 that Virginia’s law penalizing interracial marriage could not stand, it was not changing the fundamental and enduring meaning of marriage: It was affirming it. It was upholding the integrity of marriage by protecting it from irrelevant — and unconstitutional — racial manipulation. Virginia had interfered with the core elements of marriage in order to promote white supremacy, a value completely alien to marriage. Marriage is designed to bring men and women together; anti-miscegenation laws frustrated that design, and could not stand.

Same-sex marriage, too, interferes with the core elements of wedlock in order to advance an unrelated goal — the dignity and equality of gays and lesbians. The fact that many decent people ardently embrace that goal doesn’t change reality: The essential, public purpose of marriage is to unite male and female — to bind men and women to each other and to the children that their sexual behavior may produce. It is rooted in the belief that every child needs a mother and a father. Gay marriage, whether enacted by lawmakers or imposed by judges, disconnects marriage from its most basic idea. Ultimately, that isn’t tenable either.

Here in Chicago last Sunday the issue of same sex marriage hissed out of the slashed tires in a warehouse on 48th and Halsted and the activists immediately cried hate crime - civil rights. Let's not confuse civil rights with personal and community pride - that is what Sharia Law is all about.

I don't believe that the nature of marriage needs to be challenged as a political dodge in order for two people to be happy together. Civil union up a storm, but let's not make a barnacle goose out of log in the water*.

The Gay Marriage issue has been brought to you by the very same folks who made the Big Box Ordinances a civil rights issue that blew up on its own merits. Gov. Andrew Cuomo looks good this summer.

Bishops and religious men (viri religiosi) in some parts of Ireland do not scruple to dine off these birds at the time of fasting, because they are not flesh nor born of flesh.... But in so doing they are led into sin. For if anyone were to eat of the leg of our first parent (Adam) although he was not born of flesh, that person could not be adjudged innocent of eating meat.

Illinois Progressives Will Not Tolerate Conscientious Objectors: Civil Unions Means Obey

Comment:

I don't take my moral compass from an organizati?on that spent decades covering up sexual abuse of minors and wouldn't have even apologized until they were publicly forced to do so.

It's clear they care more about religious dogma than Children. They're disgusting?.
Comment from Huffington Post article Gay Adoption in Illinois: Catholic Charities Turns Away Gay Couples

Rebuttal: -
"I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr". Francis Cardinal George, 2010.

The Clergy Sexual Abuse Scandal straw man is the gold standard shut down against any defence of Faith, Doctrine or Policy by the American Roman Catholic Church by anyone - Bishop, priest, or Catholic Breeder.

Be it Gay Marriage, the transfer of priest, ordination of women, hierarchical anything, altar servers, or fish fry Fridays just bring up the fact that homosexual and rarely heterosexual predator priests were transfered, or hidden away by some bishops and you have settled your position - that settles it. Not really.

Civil Unions was greased through the political landscape that is Springfield, Illinois. Democratic Senators and Representatives cut deals with sponsors of Civil Unions - the opening act for Homosexual Marriage. The vote passed and Governor Bishop Pat Quinn signed and will bless this secular sacrement on June 2, 2011 - 24 hours after the law goes into effect.

At that time, more importantly thousands of children hoping for adoption will be swept aside for the sake of the larger issue of Homosexual Unions clearing way for Illinois Homosexual Marriage and all that it entails - insurance, legal legerdmain, property, and politcal power.

Non married couples can not adopt from Catholic Charities - heterosexual, bisexual, polysexual, omni sexual or asexual - now, then and to be.

A Civil Union gives consenting homsexuals the rights all the ups and the extras that Sponsor Greg Harris* begged for while getting votes from Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim and Agnostic legislators, without ever tossing out the notion of adoption. That came up after Civil Unions got to rolling. Immediately and loudly by the way. The Catholic Faith is the obstacle that Progressives have targeted ever since Jane Addams hijacked social justice from the Daughters if Charity and the Sisters of Mercy.

The Catholic Church will not bend on abortion and it will not cave-in on sexual proclivities as a human right.

Catholic Charities is being forced to take its Doctrine and put it where the sun never shines. We Won! Get Over It! Shut Up! That is Progressive dialogue.
e.g. from the Progressive voices on Huffington Post

Comment:
The Catholic Church should be ostracized for their treatment of children, and should not be given any authority or responsibi?lity over them.
It is children without anyone to cry to who are the most vulnerable?, and the Catholic Church has proven they are not to be trusted with them.
How can American citizens rationaliz?e giving tax money to catholic charities when Catholics have used donated money to pay off thousands of families billions of dollars in settlement?s over sexual abuse?
When considerin?g their assets to make such settlement?s, they asses all their money
How could Americans believe that Catholics are more capable or responsibl?e than someone who has no affiliatio?n with such sexual offenders?

Rebuttal: "I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr". Francis Cardinal George, 2010.

Progressive beauties are flat-out working on it, no kidding. Oscracize! Have a Gay Old Kristalnact on all of the Mackeral Snapper Breeders. What would be the life expentancy of a universally Gay planet?

Here is the reality.

Catholic Charities gets $ 30 million pieces of silver annually from Springfield to do effectively what the State of Illinois can not do - take care of children and find them loving parents and safe homes. Now, Progressives want not only to have services provided by the Church of Rome, but make everyone with any conscience that disagrees with Brahmin Progressive dicta to be silenced.

There is no room for conscientious objectors in Illinois. Cardinal George's prediction is on the money it seems.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn (D) signed the Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act Monday, and it will go into effect June 1. Despite opposition by groups including the Catholic Conference of Illinois, public opinion favored the law in the months before passage. A Chicago Tribune poll last September showed 57 percent of respondents approved the legalization of civil unions while 32 percent did not.

State Rep. Greg Harris (D), the measure's House sponsor who is openly gay, says public support was crucial to the bill’s passage. Mr. Harris says the broader public is starting to acknowledge a “difference between religious marriage and civil marriage, which is what the government does. I think that is an important distinction for a lot of folks.”

Harris added that "there was still work to do" to eventually pass gay marriage in Illinois, but he believed it would happen in the future.

Punish Faith - Gay Agenda

Children are not, in the words of the US Supreme Court in Wisconsin v. Yoder, 406 U.S. 205 (1972), “mere creatures of the State".

Civil unions in Illinois had one very short honeymoon. Wildly ecstatic though that be -gay folks are mad again. To rev-up the bile of breeder folks, Faith needs a tune-up and Manya Brachear of the Tribune is more than compliant especially if Catholic Doctrine, Leadership or Catholics can be on the receiving end of some nonsense. Front page, GLBTQ agenda is gunning down Catholic and Lutheran social service agencies that handle adoption and Manya is pulling the trigger this morning with her breathless announcement that the State of Illinois is "investigating" Faith.

Not really, even ABC's Chuck Goudie could handle this investigation - Gay couples, joined in civil unions, cannot adopt a child. No news flash. Desire meets Doctrine -no contest.

Children who have lost or were abandoned by their biological parents have been the focus of Catholics and the Catholic Church in Chicago ever since it seemed that sidewalks might be better paths to a destination than wading through mud and maybe cholera might not get tramped on the carpets along with Chicago goo.

The first Chicago orphanages, the Chicago Orphan Asylum and the Catholic Orphan Asylum, opened their doors in 1849 in the aftermath of a cholera epidemic. By 1890, there were 12 orphanages in the city. They split along Roman Catholic and Protestant lines. Chicago had no Jewish orphanages until the 1890s. Until then, Jews tried to send orphans to institutions in Cincinnati, but some Jewish orphans lived in Protestant orphanages in Chicago. Almost all “orphans” in nineteenth-century Chicago orphanages had one parent living. They were places that single-parent families in financial crisis could safely keep their children. A few of them, like the Home for the Friendless, were gigantic, housing hundreds of children at a time.

Children were cared for by people of Faith. There were no doubt active and fulfilled homosexuals among Chicago's pioneers. However, due to the historical milieu and contemporary mores they no doubt celebrated their their difference with much less gusto and public displays of affection, than do Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning citizens today.

An active lesbian, Jane Addams, co opted the work of faith-based charity, by attacking the largest of these homes like the Home for the Friendless and secularized child care on a very small scale.

The largest orphan institutions were run by Catholics and the by the 20th Century became the standard for care of children without families - by the 1940's Angel Guardian alone cared for 1,200 children. In the 1970's the work of Jane Addams found fulfillment in the establishment of a State run agency the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) and forced the closing of Illinois orphanages, including Angel Guardian in 1974.In 1975, Sister Rosemary Connolly kept up the fight and reconfigured Angel Guardian to become Misericordia Home - for special needs children. In the city of Chicago, Father James Close energized Mercy Home for Boys and Girls that had been established in the Loop by Fathers Campbell and Mahoney as a home for Working Boys - this expanded through the depression. Children were cared for by people of faith. Faith and Deeds bring 'capacity building' = not coalitions or news ink.

Father John Smyth a giant of a man with more heart than a continent and more balls than a bowling alley, expanded the 1880 Bishop Feehan established Maryville Academy, in Bridgeport and later in Des Plaines. Father Smyth received almost no money from Archdiocese, but used his political genius for pulling dollars from charitable donations raised by himself with dollars matched by the State.

The State, DCFS pumped their charges - children- into Maryville Academy. DCFS paid politically clouted Directors triple figures and larded the staff with more bureaucrats. Maryville was directed by Father Smyth a big good-hearted . . .patsy for the power players. Agenda jumps at opportunity - Jane Addams was all about opportunities take credit for what others had built. That is Progressive thought.

Power is what it is all about. Charity is trumped by a bureaucracy in the moused out rhetoric of do-gooder tax pirates. DCFS worked tirelessly with the media in the early 1990's to undermine the work of Father John Smyth who personally took on the work of caring for troubled children - the ones left in the bureaucratic cracks, alone, friendless, unloved - like the old hippie mantra -Somebody Else's Troubles. DCFS flooded Mercy Home for Boys and Girls

"Familiaris Consortio" (The Role of the Christian Family in the Modern World) by the late Servant of God John Paul II. In it he wrote: "The right and duty of parents to give education is essential, since it is connected with the transmission of human life; it is original and primary with regard to the educational role of others, on account of the uniqueness of the loving relationship between parents and children; it is irreplaceable and inalienable, and therefore incapable of being entirely delegated to others or usurped by others...”

The Gay Agenda demands that everyone cower before its lifestyle -any disagreement, or even mere 'live and let live' is intolerable. Gay agenda politics does not seek acceptance or tolerance.

Gay Marriage is the goal. In the way of that goal is the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church does not recognize same sex . . .sex - let alone marriage. That will not change. Some silly priests might nuzzle up to the Gay Agenda, but the Church will not cave in on this issue. Allen and Albert are not going to go halves on a baby and neither will Tina and Toni. If every one were homosexual, it would be a Gay old world and we would finally achieve Zero Population growth - now that's Progressive!

In today's Chicago Tribune, the always hilarious Manya Brachear - The Seeker - roots out a self-fulfilling investigation on Gay Adoption. Catholic Charities is among the faith-based adoption agencies that denies Allen and Albert, or Tina and Toni from adopting a child. The Church holds that a mother and a father should adopt a child.

Manya slants the heartbreak to the bosom of the homosexual couple who might be denied the joy of parenting with the stamp of approval from Catholic or Lutheran adoption agencies and turns to always Progressively dependable ACLU and DCFS -

"Social intervention such as adoption laws and practices inevitably reflect their communities," said Kendall Marlowe, a spokesman for DCFS. "Illinois as a state has grown on this (gay rights) issue as evidenced by (civil union legislation). Adoption law and practice should reflect the values of the people of Illinois."

Therefore, Catholics and Lutherans have not 'grown' and the agencies that care for children controlled by their unevolved dicta are hurtful and uncaring and must be punished - no State funding! Strip!

The kids be damned! Get on the right side of history! If we can not agree that sex between gents, or gals is human evolution, punish the tree dwelling louts!

They did it Boston!

Religious agencies in Illinois are the not the first to grapple with how to balance discrimination laws and doctrine. In Washington and Boston, Catholic Charities ended a combined two centuries of foster care and adoption services when it could not comply with state anti-discrimination laws after the approval of same-sex marriage.

Ecce Homo! -the Progressive Field Marshal for all agenda politics on this hot issue in Manya's Seek piece and make war offering:

Benjamin Wolf of the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois, an attorney who represents juvenile state wards as part of a court-monitored consent decree with DCFS, said limiting the pool of prospective foster care parents because certain religious traditions believe same-sex relationships are sinful is irresponsible when children are in need.

"We don't know for sure if a loving lesbian or gay family turned away from a discriminatory agency is necessarily going to go to another agency because of the disruption and harm caused to them," he said.

The religious institutions' policies might send a hurtful message to the large number of children in the foster care system who landed there after suffering neglect, abuse or rejection because they were gay, some experts say. Marlowe said 240 children out of more than 15,000 in the foster care system currently identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning.

Anytime someone uses 'hurtful' my neck hair shoots to the skies! Rock-solid hypocrisy is kicking down your door, Hickey!

Old Ben really means, "Screw the kids; Gays demand and must have!" Whatever they want.

Good luck.
