Cry Wolf Project - Marxist PACs like SEIU v. The Shrinking American Middle Class

How many academics does it take to screw in a light bulb ? Six: One to write the grant proposal, one to do the mathematical modelling, one to type the research paper, one to submit the paper for publishing, and one to hire a student to do the work, and the one to Cry Wolf - Racist Crisis Looming. Oh, you mean mean screw in a light bulb? Crew IN a light bulb, that's sexist or homophobic! Or do you mean 'screw the light bulb into the required light bulb socket? Light bulbs are a danger to a Green Planet!

American Academics want to be power players. They want solidarity with the working class.

Since the 1970's when the bow-tied Federal Judge Prentice Marshall put into motion the complete hand-cuffing and undermining of law enforcement, academic "Centers" for Justice have piled on the Chicago Police. Close on the heels of Prentice Marshall's short-sighted and 'touchy-feely' ruling that stripped the Chicago Police Department of the right to hire qualified candidates for the police academy and possible employment as police officers, race based hiring trumped everything.

In 1976, ruling in a discrimination suit, he ordered the Chicago Police Department to hire women as officers on the beat and to open its doors to more blacks and Hispanics. When the city failed to comply, Judge Marshall directed the United States Treasury to withhold federal money until the department changed its policies.

It did not matter that women are physically less robust than what law enforcement requires, nor did it matter that test scores on the entrance examination might be an indication of future qualification, a Federal judge knew more than the officers placing themselves in harm's way everyday.

Since Prentice Marshall academics and lawyers know more about police work and what it takes to protect citizens, because everything gets laundered by race, gender and feeling really good. Parents of dead teenagers, however, do not feel good and neither do police officers. G. Flint Taylor, Locke Bowman, and Jon Loevy feel great, as do the "Centers" for anything at Northwestern and University of Chicago.

American labor - real labor - skilled trades and industrial trade unions are going the way of law enforcement and American criminal justice, because Academics cry wolf.

SEIU and other Political Action Committees that the corporate media call Big Labor are focused on the elimination of the American Middle Class. In order to accomplish that end, SEIU and their paid helpers in the media and academia must undermine any and all confidence in American Labor - the skilled trade and industrial unions. The skilled trades and industrial unions built the American Middle Class as much as American business.

The middle class in America owes its once robust good health to labor.

Yesterday SEIU spent 10 million dollars to defeat one candidate in Arkansas - Blanche Lincoln. Blanche Lincoln won. SEIU spent millions of dollars to elect the President of the United States. Barack Obama won in 2008. Since then, Andy Stern was selected to serve on the Obama Deficit Reduction Commission, has been implicated in the Illinois Blagojevich corruption trial and has quickly resigned his position as head of SEIU.

Andy Stern came to SEIU via University of Pennsylvania. He is an academic.

Recently the active role of college academics in the work of SEIU to kill the American Middle Class have come to light.
It is no secret that progressives have created a self-cloning machine by hijacking our educational system. Their indoctrination efforts are well documented. But we rarely think of research institutions as propaganda factories. A Request for Proposal (RFP) — see document above — recently obtained by Big Journalism gives us a rare look at how progressives and labor unions attempt to manipulate the national media narrative.
And their process? you may ask. Use the credibility and resources of the American higher education system to create research prop – biased collegial research papers that serve as propaganda to support political policies.
Entitled Cry Wolf, the RFP proclaims a desire to look “for faculty and graduate students… interested in writing short (2,000 word) policy briefs” that “construct a counter narrative that demonstrates the falsity or exaggeration” of conservative claims. Writers of briefs selected by the project coordinators will receive 100,000 pennies for their thoughts.
Their hopes with this researchprop is for these papers to “become the basis for opinion pieces designed to run in the mainstream media, on line, on the air, or in the press,” with the end outcome of building the following narrative in the public consciousness: that conservative objections to their policies are just the old dirty tricks of the right-wing.
If executed successfully, the “first reaction of millions of people, as well as opinion leaders, will be, ‘there they go again’,” reads the RFP – a clear attempt to label any right-leaning objection to progressive policy as another case of crying wolf.

Distributed by Peter Dreier, Professor of Politics and Director of the Urban & Environmental Policy program at Occidental College, the request for proposal asks for help “in an important project in the battle with conservative ideas.” Drier is a frequent collaborator with the California AFL-CIO and the infamous ACORN.
The project’s union and progressive ties are seen throughout the bios of its coordinators and advisory board. It is sponsored by the Center on Policy Initiatives, a San Diego based non-profit headed by co-founder and Cry Wolf project coordinator Donald Cohen – a 25-year community organizing veteran and former Political Director for a division of San Diego’s AFL-CIO.
In fact, every person associated with this project has either spent a lifetime glorifying the work of labor unions through their writings, or has published work that supports the policies that further Big Labor’s agenda.
Labor historian Nelson Lichtenstein, Professor of History at UC Santa Barbara and Director of the Center for the Study of Work, Labor, and Democracy — and “America’s foremost Wal-Mart expert” — is also a Cry Wolf project coordinator. He is the author of numerous books designed to raise the awareness of the labor cause. While at the University of Virginia, Lichtenstein was involved in an organization known as Labor Action Group. “Our task was to insert and raise the labor question into the consciousness and politics of the university,” wrote Lichtenstein in the preface of his book State of the Union: A Century of American Labor.

SEIU is thick in Illinois politics, as the Blagojevich trial will reveal.

Skilled Trades unions and industrial trade unions need to become aware of the wolves -academics and SEIU leadership -in their midst.

SEIU will, as it tried to do so in Illinois in 2004, to strip Trades of their apprenticeship admissions, schools and certifications and turn that right over to elected officials - they will cry wolf -race, social justice and high sounding cries in the night and the media.

A Federal Judge Prentice Marshall damaged forever the Chicago Police Department with help from academics and lawyers.

SEIU has forever damaged American Labor with help from academics, gutless politicians and of course lawyers - but it is not too late.

Look to Blanche Lincoln.

St. Jude and the Cops - Our Hopeless Media

“Saint Jude, Hope of the Hopeless, Pray for me”

St. Jude devotions go back to the Depression. My aunts made novenas to St. Jude and newspapers used to run endless strings for testimony and prayer in the Personals Sections.

St. Jude is patron of the Hopeless and the chief sin among Catholics is the sin of despair. This Devotion to St. Jude really took off during the Great Depression and the Claretians headed up much of that effort. Father Packy McPolin attracted Hollywood Star Power and helped develop the Great St. Hospital for Children.

The Police are devoted to St. Jude and yesterday marched to the Shrine. This event was always covered by the Chicago newspapers and television. This year not only were Law Enforcement Professionals slighted but also the faith of millions.
WGN TV offered this -

CHICAGO - Chicago Police, Illinois State Police, Cook County Sheriff's Police and others marched in the annual St. Jude Memorial March Sunday to honor officers killed in the line of duty.

The event took place on the museum campus along Chicago's lakefront.

As law enforcement officers marched, Chicago Police Department cadets and loved ones held signs with the names and pictures of fallen officers.

Not much, but something.

The Chicago Police - Christ and the Harrowing of Hell

Today, in Catholic and most Christian liturgical observances, witnesses the Harrowing of Hell.

Following His death on the Cross, Jesus descended into Hell ( Sheol in Hebrew) and freed the good people from Satan and Death.

"We got shots fired over here!" Chicago Police Officer heard on News video.

Everyday is Holy Saturday for the women and men of the Chicago Police Department. On that Channel News Video from Thursday caught in full truth and it is remarkable to witness the Chicago Police Officers charge to sound of gunfire while the good people and victims protect themselves as best they can. Click my post title for the heroic Truth about Chicago Police Officers

Christ Harrowed - Looted - Hell of the Good and freed us from Death and the lure of Satan -ha-Satan ("the accuser") Hebrew.

Chicago Police are accused every day of every sin and motivation by lawyers and politicians who get rich off of the suffering people of Englewood, Austin, Gresham, Roseland & etc. They really get the truth tossed at them

These places are madhouses of criminal activity and tie down precious resources which could be deployed fighting crime," Weis said.

The 41 people shot between the end of Wednesday and 2 a.m. Friday included four people who were wounded outside the Magnolia nightclub near 122nd and Halsted, Weis said.

Other shooting sites included Bronzeville, Grand Crossing and South Shore. During one especially violent stretch, 16 people were shot in a little more than two hours.

Among those was a woman who said she was shot in the arm in Millennium Park about 12:30 a.m., but did not report it until she was treated in a Melrose Park hospital. Police have questioned where the shooting happened.

Weis noted that the second Englewood shooting occurred despite the immediate presence of three dozen heavily armed and uniformed police officers.

"It shows the complete brazen lack of respect for authority." Weis said. "The question that I have to ask is, what would they do when we're not here?"

This is the Old English and Middle English term for the triumphant descent of Christ into hell (or Hades) between the time of His Crucifixion and His Resurrection, when, according to Christian belief, He brought salvation to the souls held captive there since the beginning of the world. According to the "New English Dictionary" the word Harrowing in the above connection first occurs in Aelfric's homilies, about A.D. 1000; but, long before this, the descent into hell had been related in the Old English poems connected with the name of Caedmon and Cynewulf. Writers of Old English prose homilies and lives of saints continually employ the subject, but it is in medieval English literature that it is most fully found, both in prose and verse, and particularly in the drama. Art and literature all through Europe had from early times embodied in many forms the Descent into Hell, and specimens plays upon this theme in various European literatures still exist, but it is in Middle English dramatic literature that we find the fullest and most dramatic development of the subject. The earliest specimen extant of the English religious drama is upon the Harrowing of Hell, and the four great cycles of English mystery plays each devote to it a separate scene. It is found also in the ancient Cornish plays. These medieval versions of the story, while ultimately based upon the New Testament and the Fathers, have yet, in their details, been found to proceed from the apocryphal Gospel of Nicodemus, the literary form of a part of which is said to date back to the second of third century. In its Latin form this "gospel" was known in England from a very early time; Bede and other Old English writers are said to show intimate acquaintance with it. English translations were made of it in the Middle Ages, and in the long Middle English poem known as "Cursor Mundi" a paraphrase of it is found.

A Policeman's Lot Is Not A Happy One - CPD Officers,Sing This to Jody!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of enjoying Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance: A Slave to Duty*.

In Act II, came this great song. Given the wit and vinegar of Chicago's Law Enforcement Professionals, I am sure a parody fitting the Age and Morals of Chicago 2009 will grace the lyrics. I have rarely met people more well-read, insightful, good-humored, tolerant or braver than CPD members.

Sergeant. When a felon's not engaged in his employment –
Police. His employment,
Sergeant. Or maturing his felonious little plans –
Police. Little plans,
Sergeant. His capacity for innocent enjoyment –
Police. 'Cent enjoyment
Sergeant. Is just as great as any honest man's –
Police. Honest man's.

Sergeant. Our feelings we with difficulty smother –
Police. 'Culty smother,
Sergeant. When constabulary duty's to be done –
Police. To be done.
Sergeant. Ah, take one consideration with another –
Police. With another,
Sergeant. A policeman's lot is not a happy one.
Police. Ah!
Sergeant & Police. When constabulary duty's to be done, to be done,
A policeman's lot is not a happy one, happy one.

Sergeant. When the enterprising burglar's not a-burgling –
Police. Not a-burgling.
Sergeant. When the cut-throat isn't occupied in crime –
Police. 'Pied in crime,
Sergeant. He loves to hear the little brook a-gurgling –
Police. Brook a-gurgling,
Sergeant. And listen to the merry village chime –
Police. Village chime.

Sergeant. When the coster's finished jumping on his mother –
Police. On his mother,
Sergeant. He loves to lie a-basking in the sun –
Police. In the sun.
Sergeant. Ah, take one consideration with another –
Police. With another,
Sergeant. A policeman's lot is not a happy one.
Police. Ah!

Sergeant & Police. When constabulary duty's to be done, to be done,
A policeman's lot is not a happy one, happy one.

God Bless Chicago Cops - He'd better.

After the sensational success of H.M.S. Pinafore, many American performing companies presented unauthorized versions of that opera. Gilbert, Sullivan and Carte decided to prevent that from happening again by presenting official versions of their next opera, The Pirates of Penzance, or The Slave of Duty simultaneously in England and America. The opera premiered on December 31, 1879 at the Fifth Avenue Theater in New York with Sullivan conducting, but a single performance had been given on the previous day at the Royal Bijou Theatre, Paignton, England, to secure the British copyright. Finally, the opera opened on April 3, 1880, at the Opéra Comique in London, where it ran for 363 performances, having already been playing successfully for over three months in New York.

On December 10, 1879, Sullivan had written a letter to his mother about the new opera, upon which he was hard at work in New York. "I think it will be a great success, for it is exquisitely funny, and the music is strikingly tuneful and catching." True enough! The Pirates of Penzance was an immediate hit and takes its place today as one of the most popular and enduring works of musical theatre.

In The Pirates of Penzance, Frederic was as a child apprenticed to a band of tenderhearted, orphaned pirates by his nurse who, being hard of hearing, had mistaken her master's instructions to apprentice the boy to a pilot. Frederic, upon completing his 21st year, rejoices that he has fulfilled his indentures and is now free to return to respectable society. But it turns out that he was born on February 29 in leap year, and he remains apprenticed to the pirates until his 21st birthday. By the end of the opera, the pirates, a Major General who knows nothing of military strategy, his large family of beautiful but unwed daugters, and the timid constabulary all contribute to a cacophony that can be silenced only by Queen Victoria's name.

Mark Brown Decries His Own Column - We're Way Ahead of You, Mark! Cops Are Not Judged by Columinists

I'm Mark Brown. I do what I do! That's me. This is how I look. Pretty Good?

I'll probably catch hell for linking these two events together -- the cowardly Abbate with the heroic Valadez -- but I don't really see how we can separate them entirely. . . . The importance of an Anthony Abbate is that his case shows how easy it is for one policeman to bring discredit to his fellow officers, even detracting from the ultimate sacrifice of an Alejandro Valadez.

Mark Brown 'must' link the death of Officer Valadez to the thug Anthony Abbate. He Must!

There is only one reason columnists like Mark Brown take pimp slaps at Police Officers, they know that they will not face any criticism or suffer any consequences in so doing. Mark Brown and too many others helped build the Thug Comfort Zone here in Chicago.

Like the old adage, that questions why Fido gratifies himself - 'because he can.'

The Media, as opposed to newspaper reporters, like Ray Coffey and John Drummond, use police misconduct to undermine any and all confidence in Law Enforcement. They play Identity Politics and Advocacy Journalism. The Sun Times is wheezing its way into oblivion, hoping against hope to become a Government Agency, like Chrysler, GM, and the American Banking Industry. It may happen.

Then, would be Zolas could become Later Day Goebbels Lites.

It is typical, but still sickening that when a Police Officer is murdered in the line of Duty, a hack like Brown would push the agenda.

Mark obeys his highers and betters. He stays supine when told to lay down. Like when there is another CPS News embargo on 'bad situations.' Like this one -

A riot took place at Simeon High School during a ComEd power grid failure two weeks ago. Gangbangers rioted in the school and out into the community form 83rd Street to 79th Street. Police Officers quieted the riot without a death or serious injury to the 'the children.' Mark Brown had his head somewhere else, when Police Oficers were doing exactly what they do every day here in Auburn/Gresham/Brainerd/Englewood and Chatham.

Ask a cop from the 6th, 7th, 8th, or 22nd District - they responded to the riot. I don't need to; I saw it. We got the kids of Leo High School home and safe without incident because of Chicago Police standard operating procedures. When the lights went out at Simeon, however . . .hold the phone.

Mark Brown's head is firmly stuck where he wants it to be - nice view I guess.

Cops Face Grenades - Real and Fake - Journalists are Not Worried.

Police officers face mortal danger every day. They signed up for that.

They must also deal with a Media, law suit lawyers and elected officials.

Now they are facing hand grenades. This moring it was reported that a fake grenade was tossed at police officers in Roseland.

CHICAGO - Chicago police say they have been questioning a man who reportedly tossed a fake grenade during a foot chase in the Roseland neighborhood on the city's far South Side.

The incident occurred late Sunday morning when officers responded to a call of a person with a gun near East 107th Street and South Wentworth Avenue. Police say the officers located the suspect, who attempted to flee on foot.

During the chase, the suspect reportedly tossed what appeared to be a grenade. Officers notified the Chicago Fire Department and the police Bomb & Arson Section and then captured the suspect, police said. No gun was ever found on the man.

Bomb & Arson investigators determined the thrown object was a fake and was not a threat

What then, Mr. NewsHound, is a Threat? The threat of a grenade is real Agenda Stooge Reporters are Unreal

Police Critics Condemn Use of Sentence Ending- Preposition by Officer as He Saves Life

The fire started about 4:10 a.m. in a three-story apartment building at 7845 S. East End Ave., according to Fire Media Affairs Asst. Director Eve Rodriguez.

Responding emergency units found three people trapped inside.

South Chicago District police officer Timothy Gould was responding to a call when he saw smoke coming from the building. The 18-year police veteran attempted to access the hallway through the main entrance on the side of the building, but smoke and flames were too strong.

Gould then heard somebody screaming for help in the back of the building.

“I ran around back and knocked out the back window,” Gould said. “I couldn’t reach [inside the window] because the window was about eight or nine feet high, so I got a chair. I jumped on the chair, used my flash light and started hollering, ‘Where you at?’”

In as fierce a Gathering of Worthies as when the cast of Harry Potter had lunch at the Daley Center, Some Peoples Law Office. Loevy, Loevy and Loevy Smith, Northwestern University Law Drop-outs and the Blum Center for Suing the $hit out of Chicago, the Boiled Beets Progressive of Illinois The Brighthole Coalition and 2229th Missionary Position Agnostic Church, roundly condemned Officer Timothy Gould, an 18 year veteran and close-knit ethnic Catholic for saving a South Shore black man while ending his sentences in prepositions.

SpokesTwerp G. Flint Taylor, noted for wrassling Gator Bradley for the sweepings of cash last summer, offered this,

'First Burge takes black men out on his Waterboarding Kris Craft Light Carrier and now systemic racism rears its head by disrespecting a black man with incorrect grammar. We are asking that all branches of Government give me Three Trillion dollars. This will not stand. Frivolous? I'll show you frivolous! I have the Press in my loincloth! I'll have Judge Gettleman in my corner again! You'll see! I am somebody!'

Blogger's note - Well done and God Bless you Officer Gould for your heroic and selfless act.
