David Brooks and His Ilk - Why Trump Will Win Again and by a Landslide

"A purity spiral occurs when a community becomes fixated on implementing a single value that has no upper limit, and no single agreed interpretation. The result is a moral feeding frenzy." Gavin Haynes -How knitters got knotted in a purity spiral:A process of moral outbidding is corroding small communities from within in UNHERD
I am supposed to hate President Trump, America, past and present, my skin color and myself.

Not gonna.

The people who insist that I do range from celebrated faux-intellectual David Brooks to members of my vast and blue-collar family.

I love blue collars, but only wore one at work when I had to wear one.  For 46 of my 68 years, I was a high school English teacher,  I consider teaching a profession.  I joined no union to ensure my continued pay days.  I am an independent contractor, like an accountant, or lawyer.  You know, other professionals?

I am an Irish Catholic.  I adhere to the faith that fought Communism and teaches eternal truths.   Too many Irish Catholics adhere to the moveable feast of Cardinal Teddy McCarrick's  American neo-Unitarian catholic thought - abortion is a personal choice and marriage is . . . well, who's to say?

My father and his brothers fought fascism and communism.  My uncle Bart told me that the difference between Nazis and Commies is  the difference between horseshit and manure,

My Uncle Bud sealed an expensive crematorium shut that was  purchased by Cook Country Hospital and dedicated to burning aborted babies.  He threatened to quit as Chief Engineer of Cook County if ordered to unseal it and Cook County Board President George Dunne backed down.  Until, Uncle Bud retired.

That was long ago.

Now, things have evolved and the union that was once led by people who fought abortion and Communism are Ok with policies embraced by Abortionists and the Communists, Rioters and Looters.

Donald Trump was a real estate hustler and a media darling when Uncle Bud and Uncle Bart had something to say about my beliefs and actions.  They are at home with Christ and we are taking a knee when told to do so and  always trying to stay WOKE.

I never had the slightest regard for Donald Trump, until he became the 45th President of the United States.  I viewed him to be a narcissist and a boor.

I believe that he still might be both, but also more so.

In fact, any scan of my blog posts attests to that statement,

Once elected, Donald J. Trump was treated to a Tsunami of hate that runs madly to its yet unfinished spiral down into history.

Once elected and inaugurated,  Donald J. Trump did exactly what he promised to do. He repealed Obama Care, re-negotiated the idiotic NAFTA trade scam, enforced genuine immigration reforms, reversed Obama's fascist (benefited oligarchs like Warren Buffet) Energy policies, enacted real reform in Education.

Doing exactly what he said he would do set loose the Dogs of WOKE - Martin Sheen, Rob Reiner, Barbra Streisand all of the JOURNOLISTAS of Obama and of course David Brooks.

From the howling cast of Hamilton to unemployed jazz musicians, from artists dependent upon the 65,000 annual NEH grants, to skilled tradesmen with paid up dues, to every media outlet and academic charlatan in the United States President Trump and his family and supporters are reviled, denounced and lied about with active and energetic joy.

No President has ever been treated as badly and with zero let-up. Even President Obama was cut yards of slack and merited very little consideration.

President Trump seems to invite greater and more virulent hostility, but he also seems impervious to the darts and spit-balls.  Trump's wife and kids have my sympathies.  The President?  Not so much,  He calls the tune.

That said,  I detest the people who hate President Trump much more than their target.  They are the people who hate everything that I admire - loyalty, genuine patriotism, religious tolerance, dedication to vocation and willingness to help a neighbor.   People can get away with any lie, accusation, or calumny, because everyone is willing accept anything said or claimed against Donald Trump.

Lately, President Trump is claimed to have denigrated fallen American soldiers.

I doubt that very much.  This is another morality spiral - out of control.

There are 58 days until the election and President Trump will trounce Joe Biden on November 3rd.

Why will he win?  David Brooks.  David Brooks is a fatuous ninny, with a career as a fatuous ninny.

Here is David Brooks on why Trump can't win :

Donald Trump has been running on a sense of menace, a sense that there is a lot of danger out there in the world and that he is the one to restore order. And so the keystone of his visit was the image of him standing behind — in front of a burned-out buildings, and he wants to convey that message.
Joe Biden has run as a uniter. And so he went to speak to the Blake family. He pleased them very much with his sensitivity of what they were going through.
And you would have to say the evidence so far is that the law and order campaign that Trump has been running since the convention has not shown much impact on the polls. He is still down seven or eight points.
If you ask people on a whole range of measures which candidate makes you feel safe, Biden wins on — any way you ask that question, Biden wins. If you ask people, is Donald Trump making it worse, 55 percent say Donald Trump is making it worse.
So, the law and order message, at least so far, and as expressed through Kenosha, not working...Real Clear Politics

Biden Wins!  Morality spiral.

David Brooks backed Hilary Clinton in 2016 and predicted a thorough drubbing of Donald Trump.

David Brooks deplores Trump supporters - guys like me.

This from his pre-2016 election day New York Times brain-ooze:

A few weeks ago I met a guy in Idaho who was absolutely certain that Donald Trump would win this election. He was wearing tattered, soiled overalls, missing a bunch of teeth and was unnaturally skinny. He was probably about 50, but his haggard face looked 70. He was getting by aimlessly as a handyman.
I pointed to the polls and tried to persuade him that Hillary Clinton might win, but it was like telling him a sea gull could play billiards. Everybody he knows is voting Trump so his entire lived experience points to a Trump landslide. He was a funny, kind guy, but you got the impression his opportunities had been narrowed by forces outside his control.

Trump wins and will win again!  He will win because people like David Brooks, caitiffs, poltroons, and alarmist wimps, hate happy people who can read a news article, pay attention to human events, pay their own way and cast their own votes.  Like the guy in Idaho in soiled overalls, millions more Americans will cast their votes for Donald J. Trump.

Because filthy people like David Brooks feed the morality spiral, it will bring many millions of people " wearing tattered, soiled overalls, missing a bunch of teeth and . . . unnaturally skinny." to the polls to pull for Trump.

Ticket Whiners "Hit Back' for Chicago and then 'Ditch School' Get Real News from Second City Cop, before you go to Chicago Rags

“You’ve hit Chicago numerous times. . . . When you hit Chicago, Chicago hits back.” Ald. Anthony Beale Image result for anthony beale chicago

Mos Def, G! No slippin' dis area code, Yo!*

Alderman Beale is not warning the GDs, Vice Lords, Mickey Cobras, Four Corner Hustlers, Latin Kings, or even the ethnically cleansed Irish Deuces. Beale is really giving it to Donald Trump, he and the 49 other amoebas with plush chairs in the Chicago City Council.

The Chicago 50 - the City Council, not its collective I.Q. - hit back at Donald Trump and took down the brown sign that anyone with the ear of an Alder-creature can get hung up.  Legend has it that some have even been a 'taste' for a deal, but Andy Shaw's BGA would been all over that, like a four year old boy on bowl of steamed cauliflower. Yes Sir!

Fran Spielman, the voice of the Chicago Banana Republic, takes a delightful swipe at the oafish plutocrat, erstwhile reality show star and Presidential candidate.

The City Council’s Transportation Committee unanimously agreed to strip Trump of a recognition he covets: “Trump Plaza,” the honorary designation for the east side of Wabash Avenue between Illinois Street and the Chicago River, outside the 96-story Trump International Hotel & Tower. . . .As for the honorary street designation, one of the Trump Plaza signs already has been stolen. So only one more needs to be removed. That will be done post-haste, if the full City Council approves the punishment, thanks to a so-called “pending passage” letter that (Ald.)Beale promised to sign.(Ald.) Reilly said Trump no longer deserves the honor after making political hay at Chicago’s expense in a way that has damaged the city’s reputation on the global stage.
Trump’s decision to portray Chicago as a “war zone” that needs stop-and-frisk during the first presidential debate was the final straw.

Yeah, Brendan, we live in Honeysuckle Vinewater Way,you mewling turd.

In December 2010, Trump contributed $50,000 to Mayor Rahm Emanuel and $5,000 to Reilly.
That was two years after the opening of Trump Tower with the vanity sign touting the Trump brand.
On Tuesday, Reilly was asked about the hypocrisy of accepting Trump’s money, only to bite the hand that feeds him.
He promised, once again, to send the money to back.
“I will be doing that on Nov. 9, the day after the election — so Mr. Trump can’t spend it,” Reilly said.

More important Chicago's Aldermen Approved, Sanctioned and Abetted Thud Comfort Zone will bleed mightily while the Cubs and some of our Aldercritters hire a bus and 'road trip' to Cleveland for game # 2. of the World Series.  After whining like pimps shorted by street walkers, when the Chicago Cubs Organization withdrew its proffer of free tickets to 50 moochers, Progressive Cop-Hating loudmouth Alderman Anwar Pawar beefed about the hit he tookImage result for anwar pawar chicago
Three aldermen on Monday confirmed that the team had withdrawn the offer after the Board of Ethics on Friday sent out new guidance to aldermen, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and other city officials on the issue. Some aldermen were upset, contending that the ethics board and its new chairman, William Conlon, were making much ado about nothing.
"This whole thing is a circus," said Ald. Ameya Pawar, 47th, whose North Side ward includes part of Wrigleyville, the area that's home to the team's iconic ballpark. "Rather than celebrate the Cubs, the Cubs now are going to have to comment on something when we as a city should be celebrating going to a World Series." Chicago Tribune

N.B. -Attribution goes to Second City Cop, as I always read my news there, before the media cheerleaders.

Also, SCC offers a pithy assessment in vernacular concerning this city's two-score and ten hypocrites:

"Remember, that's an alder-asshole who decided he was going to threaten the LOCAL Lodge for an endorsement that a NATIONAL Lodge made. Never let actual ethics get in the way of a corrupt deal."
The gobshites are 'ditching school today' -
The City Council chambers will be emptier today, during the important budget hearings because a large number of aldermen, who cannot get tickets to the games in Wrigley Field, have gotten a bus and are going to Cleveland to watch the game, after getting tickets on Stub Hub scalping site.
Thank goodness the Budget Hearings can take care of themselves. SCC
Stronger Together!!!!!!!

Keep voting for morons, neighbors.

President Trump and the Media - A Full Press Court in Vinegaroon, USA

Image result for Roy Bean

You have been tried by twelve good men and true, not of your peers but as high above you as heaven is of hell, and they have said you are guilty. Roy Bean
Much of Trump's cluelessness about issues stems from his refusal to make more than a minimal effort at his job. As his comments about Andrew Jackson and the Civil War confirm, Trump is not merely too lazy to learn; he's too lazy to notice there is anything others know that he might need to. His is indolence on an epic scale. Steve Chapman
Well, I'm about as tall as a shotgun, and just as noisy.- Truman Capote

The American media is as judicious in its treatment of President Trump as that sound voice of due process from Vinegaroon, Texas - Law West of the Pecos.  Judge Roy Bean is now working under many pseudonyms - Frank Rich, Dana Milbank, E.J. Dionne, David Brooks, George Will, Billy Kristol, and Kat6rina Vanden Huevel. The Judge has morphed into whole editorial boards at Washington Post, New York Times and even the hick burg rags like Chicago Tribune and Sun Times.

Only months ago, Judge Roy Bean had been Truman Capote to Barack Obama - smooching the patron and hissing at everyone else and then Trump won.  Lord the change.  The Resistance!

Me?  I just read the papers - most of them and then some.

Here is the Cinco De Mayo, 2017 sampling of Trump Thumping from the New York Times in Headline

EDITORIAL

SUNDAY REVIEW

Then,  I read a deceptively titled story -President Trump Returns to New York for a Brief First Visit - Home Boy President?  Nah.

This was a "We Ran Him Otta Town!"  piece by Michael Wilson.  NY, NY!

The Rube Media here in Chicago is mildly amusing with daffy screeds by lightweights like Rex Hupke, Mary Schmich, Eric Zorn and the Bruce Dold editorial ink.  The worst of this sad lot is the Tribune's own David Brooks JV player Stephan Chapman - The Minority of One, his own bad self!

Donald Trump has many worrisome, regrettable and even deplorable traits. But after studying him for the past two years, I have concluded he has an overlooked quality that cancels out many of his bad ones. Say what you will, the man is lazy.
This is a discovery that should gladden people of all parties, philosophies, races, sexes and religions. His detractors can be glad that he will never muster the drive or discipline to actually bring many of his worst ideas to fruition. His admirers can rest easy knowing he will not work himself to death.
Really? Trump has been like an horny rabbit on bennies putting the blocks to the Obama Legacy - nothing for everyone, BUT Obama and his peeps.

Lazy?  Chapman was right with his opener "Donald Trump has many worrisome, regrettable and even deplorable traits."  Can't argue that.  But, the lick spittle who munched Obama's rump for eight years and more should have stopped there,

There was a great line from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Roy Bean-like character exclaims, "I'm not crazy; I'm just colorful. That's what happens when you live "( 8 years alone in a Banana Republic)-, "you get colorful! " Then he is shot dead.

Judge Roy Bean was colorful.   The Press is crazy.

Why Anyone Would Side With Donald Trump Is Beyond Me.

' Megyn Kelly,dyed her hair/DooDah, Doodah!"

I like billionaires.  I can safely say, that I know two billionaires, one is a Chicago real estate developer ( as is Trump) and the other makes plush toys.  The two billionaires that I know are gentlemen to the backbone, witty, kind, hard-working and very generous.

Then there is Donald Trump.

I first became Trump conscious in 1988, while teaching at La Lumiere School in LaPorte, Indiana.  My wife and I ran a dorm called Becket House on the heart-breakingly beautiful campus hugging a spring fed lake.  We had twenty three young gents of the junior class in our charge and one of them was Murph.  Murph was a delight.  He has a Fred Flintstone mug attached to a head that was the size of a boulder in a Gene Autry western, to paraphrase Skinny Sheahan.  Murph wanted to be a billionaire.  He was a rock-ribbed David Stockman/Ronald Reagan/Russell Kirk Republican from the far western suburbs of Chicago.  Murph was built like a bull and owned a generous, merry-hearted  savagery that was delight to watch from the sidelines of Laker football.  He loved combat and dominated  at middle linebacker, but was a sucker for the draw play. Murph!!!!!!!!  Don't Blitz on Every GD Play!!!!!!

I had Murph in English class and he constantly topped off his armful of books with Trump: The Art of the Deal.  I caught the lad yellow marking this flabby tome, when he should have been reading Billy Budd, during each day's mandatory two and 1/2 hour silent study in the dorm.  I was perched at my desk in the common room situated between our living quarters and ten double occupant rooms of my charges and did my work as well as hush up the lads, look for and confiscate walk-men buzzing with Dead Head tapes, wake up sleepers and generally maintain the sanctity of study.  This required that I get off my broad manly ass and manage by walking around.

Murph was an incorrigible.  Sleep? You bet.  Eat his Korean dormy's candy?  Check!  Read the Art of the Deal?  Only when not sleeping, or eating imported Haitai Cherry Marus from the Heedon's round metal candy box. More than the Asian confections, Murph stuffed himself with The Art of Deal.

" Murph!  Eighty Six that idiot's tripe!"

" Mr. Hickey, Trump's a genius and you're just a Thackeray geek."

"Notwithstanding. Get to work on your weekly essay.  It is Thursday and you have yet to write alick."

" I'm on it. Hey what is Mary making us? Damn she can cook, Hick Old Man."

I read the book. It is crap-doodle, ghosted by the guy who says that high energy is counter productive.  Really?  Relax and make millions?

I could never get Murph to abandon Trump.  I admire that in a man - fierce loyalty.  I am pretty much like that myself.  Hell, I'm still a Democrat. Don't look like one, but I am. Loyalty is vital.  Bad people manage to win the loyalty of good people.

There is nothing about Donald Trump, that could induce me to walk across a small carpet to meet him.  Not interested.  I know hustlers and users.  I have been in education since 1975 and that industry is jam-packed with creeps, grifters and protected incompetents.  Donald Trump might have made splendid member of the Obama Administration had he not gone on his four decades of gilted national hustle. He just might become President.

Donald Trump is backed by the Eugene Robinson, Chris Matthews, CBS, New York Times, Washington Post, Obama's Jornolistseses, Rachel ( "I'm Backin' Ya, Butch!") Maddow George Soros, Planned Parenthood, the League of Progressives, Rahm Emanuel, and millions of Howard Beal Tea Party Libertarian Pro-Lifers.

After the debate Trump's fans went NYC wilding on Megyn Kelly, who gave Mr. Hair Club for Men a kick in the nuts unparalleled since the fight between Butch Cassidy and Harvey Logan

Me?  I like Megyn Kelly and she has Trump on the ropes.

I wonder how Murph is doing?  God, I loved that kid!

I Believe President Trump is Doing a Great Job. . . .so, Far. Media Needs to Be Ignored.

Image result for Trump with coal miners
Barack Obama began his political career as a community organizer on the south side. It would be difficult to imagine that he was not swept up into the mythology against Burge and his men taking shape on the south side at the very time he was honing his political skills and building his power base.
After all, Obama’s political base is tied to both factions that came together in the wrongful conviction movement. One facet of Obama’s political power is clearly the black caucus of the south side. Obama also clearly has ties to the white, upper middle-class radical faction of the wrongful conviction movement as well, for his friendship and alliance with former Weather Underground terrorists and PLO allies like Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers has been well documented.
And like both these factions, Obama shares their intense antipathy to law enforcement and the criminal justice system, an antipathy born out throughout his presidency.  Author and CPD Officer Martin Preib 2016

Can't agree more.  President Obama will go down in history as the first Black President, the first Abortion President,  the Gay Marriage President, The Transgender Bathroom President and the President who ordered the strike on Osama Bin Laden.   That is pretty much all that he accomplished in eight long, self-congratulatory and mediocre years.

I voted for Donald Trump.  I am a Democrat, a Catholic, skilled trades pro-labor, anti-Communist and anti-Corporatist voter.  The last eight years and last thirty years here in Chicago and Cook County have proven to be the foundation poured and set for an oligarchy.  This is a Banana Republic that uses Marxist-Progressive rhetoric to mask corporate state economics that employs TIFS, Zoning, Untouchable Slum Real Estate moguls with a backdoor key to the White House, Banks, blue-stocking law firms, University and 501(c)3 treasure houses, a supine disinterested media and villainous political grifters to turn millions into billions, while retaining the votes and good will of the very people they looting, marginalizing and murdering.

Yep, urban Thug homicides and Police memes about racism are the shiny objects used to distract the masses from their evaporating pensions, unsafe neighborhoods and wretched public schools.

America was becoming the Banana Republic that is Chicago and Cook County, Illinois.

I voted for Donald Trump in the  hope that all of this might slow its pace.

Silly me, it sure appears that voting for Trump means much more.  The elites are trembling.

In the last 40 days, President Trump has

  • Nominated Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court - confounding  the abortion industry and haters of Justice Scalia
  • Saved the Coal Industry - confounding Bill Nye the Science Guy and other Gore Shills
  • Ok'd the Keystone Pipeline -confounding Warren Buffet's railroading of the environment, Native Americans and Union workers
  • Set about the deconstruction of ObamaCare - confounding the pharmaceutical giants, the insurance grifters and Nancy Pelosi
  • Killed the Trans Pacific Partnership - confounding Richard M. Daley, Red China and South China Sea pirates
  • Challenged Sanctuary Cities - confounding Blaze Cardinal Cupich and other American Episco-politians
  • Stocks are nuts and going up, up and up - confounding George Will, David Brooks and Michael Moore
Well, to read the Chicago papers and the go-a-longs who write for them, Trump has violated every sensibility, and endangers everything.

  • Trump talks to Russians, but has yet to sit down with Chance the Rapper
  • Trump bad mouths ChiRaq - for real?
  • Trump has a big building named after him, but the street sign is gone
  • Trump never barbecued with Bill Ayers
  • Trump has no slum properties with Valerie Jarrett, Allison Davis, or Judson Miner
  • Can't speak French
It has been noted that 88% of the media coverage has been negative since January 20th.  Here in Chicago it must run as high 99%.

That is cool.  If I felt in harmony with Bruce Dold, or Birkenstock hemp sandals at the Sun Times, I rush over to see Dr. Harshad Mehta at Little Company about the levels of loco weed in my Wheaties.

As it is, I feel confident that things will be better for helots me and my neighbors.  Things might be a bit prickly for the once comfortable, smug, thoughtlessly arrogant and venal elites in this Hick burg.

That would be cool.

What to do on Friday: March 11th 2016 - Let's See? Free Trump Passes or Pay a Sawbuck and Watch Leo Win State Title?

Donald Trump?  You can have him.  Not as President, I hope, nor pretty much anything else, but he's all your's.

He is going to be at UIC (Cement City) on Friday and is giving away free passes to hear him talk about himself. Caveat!  If you go to see Trump, you also must endure Chicago's GangBanger Emeritus clown Congressman Luis Gutierrz. Lord Have mercy! Two humps on the same cement?  Nah. Pass.

You see, both humps are here to help Hillary Clinton nail down the Oval Office.

The only thing that could get me anywhere near that hump Trump might be an all you can eat gift certificate for Tufano's Vernon Park Tap, which is within walking-away distance of the UIC Pavilion.

So you have that going on.

Leo High School is in the IHSA Class 1-A Final Four.

So, I intend to drive 2 hours and fifty-seven minutes away from the clown show at Cement City and drive to Whiskey City - Peoria, IL and watch the mighty, mighty Leo Lions defeat Woodlawn ( no small task that) and then return on Saturday to watch the same-said Lions cut off the nets in the Carver Arena.

You see, Donald Trump is exactly same kind of clown as the ones who get all of the urban media face-time and ink-slop over race-hustling, thug murder and street activism.  There is absolutely no difference, whatsoever, between Trump and any of the insta-loudmouth-Reverend- prophet -activists the media worship.  In fact, the very same words of affection used to 'justify' the local blatherskites, apply to Donald H. Trump: "fiery, speaks his mind, helps so many, concerned, at times divisive, obnoxious, contoversial, but always news worthy."

Uh,huh.

The fact is that street hustling stiff-collars and Donald Trump have done and will do nothing for kids, old people, or starving blind match girls.

I would much rather enjoy the joy and sparkle of the faces of fifteen young men and their coaches engaged in the formative combat that is athletic competition, where no one is a victim and outcomes matter.  Score more baskets; cut nets off of the rims attached to expensive backboards at the Carver Arena.

Leo High School ( the maintenance staff, the ladies who run the offices and Leo the parents, the teachers,  the administrators, the Alumni, The Big Shoulders Fund, and the many generous non-Leo donors who are Catholic and Jewish ) knows that Black Lives Matter, Blue Lives Matter, Lives in the Womb Matter and All Lives Out of Womb Matter a whole bunch and our kids will tear off nets because of that knowledge.

Street hustlers say that they know it, but they could care less and do absolutely nothing to ever make a difference here, or anywhere, unless Jay Levine, or Carol Marin can broadcast their words and totally ignore anything else.

Cardinal George knew Leo High School stood for everything in my above parentheses  and Acted upon it.  Cardinal George, to use the media word 'advocated' for Leo High School and also acted to raise money sending checks from his personal account and not the Archdiocese bank accounts, or some creep State legislator, or City Hall stooge to scratch up a taxpayer funded boondoggle.  Mostly, Cardinal George ministered to students, counselled individual kids from Grand Crossing, Englewood, Gresham and Canaryville without a call to the Tribune or the Sun Times.  No bishop of Chicago, ever did more for kids at Leo than the late Cardinal George.

Chicago wants Francis Cardinal George in its memory hole - forgotten.

Donald Trump wants everything in a memory hole.

Now, I am no fan of Trump, as I am no fan of race baiting, street hustling prophets, but that does not mean you should not delight in their words and the media words about them.  Oh, Hell No!

That's just me.

However, I am a huge fan of pure high school achievement - athletic and academic.  I am a huge fan of Facta Non Verba: Deeds and Not Words.

Two hours and fifty minutes, two tanks of gas at praeter-Cook County prices, parking in Peoria and a $10 ticket to the Carver is well worth being anywhere near bumptious ass who wants to help Hillary Clinton become President.

Things are Pretty Darn Good. Overcoming Trumpanoia and Worrying About What I Think

Image result for Trump and oia

The establishment pushed the wars and free trade and their partners in the corporate-government matrix agreed to the sending off of capital (and jobs) to foreign lands.
For all the talk of partisanship, Democrats and Republicans were the two horns on the head of the goat.
And Trump voters? They were forgotten, left behind, mocked as deplorable. John Kass

This Memorial Day weekend, America paid tribute to the men and women who gave all in defense of our Nation.

I thought of my Dad and his brothers who fought in the Pacific, North Africa, Italy and later Korea , my older neighbors pre-Draft Lottery,  from the high school classes of 1962-1968, who went to Vietnam.  Fewer of us from 1969-1973, served thanks to the Lottery and Vietnamization.  I remembered the many, many kids that I taught at Bishop McNamara, La Lumiere and Leo High School who served in Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, Desert Storm, Bosnia, Iraq,  Afghanistan - kids like Adam Voight (La Lumiere 1988) who gave up scholarships to enlist as privates and eventually fly Apache helicopters in Desert Storm, and Pat Donley, Bishop McNamara 1979, who served as Marine aboard the USS Iowa, when his brothers were murdered by terrorists in Beriut.

I have it very good.

Kathy Griffin, the alleged comic for CNN, is so upset with the Trump American atmosphere that she needed to ritualistically imitate ISIS and lop off President Trump's head.  How tough is that?  The poor thing must really have a time of it opening that tricky foil cover over the Velveeta cheese logs.  Image result for velveetaIt's a struggle.

Some people are upset that I do not want President Trump any more humiliated than he manages on his own.  In fact, I am more than surprised and happy with Trump's Presidency.  He has all of the worst people leading the Resistance against him.  Sadly, too many very good people have joined them.

Some say "my blog sucks and I suck,"  because I write honestly - I do not, nor have I ever held Barack Obama in anything like regard and I am not bothered a jot by the election of Donald Trump.
My blog and I might suck for reasons other than that, but not because the point of view challenges the meme du jour.

That said, love me, or leave me, lamb.  I write because I love people - all people, until they prove themselves to be bullies, grifters, sneaks, hypocrites and moral cowards. Them I might love in the big Christian thematic way, but I 'd rather not have their company, much less their good opinion of me.

I could give a . . . (you fill it in).   I have it good and that ain't bad, to quote the late Louis Prima.

As it is, I own a home, shop at Marianno's, own a car, a library card, my cable works fine, my kids are all educated, moral and employed, the grass is cut, the garbage was picked up yesterday, I teach, I write, I read, John Kass remains a powerful voice in a city of dotards, no one can force me to watch Big Bang Theory, let alone watch it, the only thing Russian that keeps me awake at night is Borscht (hate beets), I have not witnessed any mass executions of Pussy Hat owners, nor is the Planned Parenthood block-house at 51st & Ashland ablaze, my girlfriend still gives me direction on dress, manners and general deportment outside of my bubble here in the 19th Ward, my granddaughter is healthy, chubby and beautiful, gas at Thornton's in Blue Island is $2.46 per gallon, and Cracovia Pitted Sour Cherries mixed with Greek vanilla yogurt is like heroin.

If Trump has you that down, see a medical professional.  Cheer up!  Only suckers beef!  Mix some cherries and yogurt.

If that is not enough for you, House of Cards, season five will take on Trump.  Wash it down with a swell IPA and a good gulp or two of bile. That seems to be the only things that make some folks happy.

Our Ramparts: Chicago Trib and Sun Times Share Trump-Thumping Headline

Image result for Behind the sandbags and barbed wire

Note the diversity at Tribune Tower!

Great minds think alike . . .and so do very small minds.

Today, after President Trump's Tax Cut, both Chicago rags offer identical headlines warning that, like the internet, we are all in peril, doomed I tells Ya!  Get to the Ramparts!

The ramparts are usually the defensive walls of castles, but in Trumpophobic America it refers to the Washington Post, newspapers that hate Trump in general, or so our later-day Henry Fonda, Tom Hanks, would have us believe.
Image result for tom hanks on the ramparts
"I would not have been able to imagine that we would be living in a country where neo-Nazis are doing torchlight parades in Charlottesville and jokes about Pocahontas are being made in front of the Navajo code talkers. And individually we have to decide when we take to the ramparts.” Tom Hanks -on not bringing the projector to the White House

You see, he has taken to the ramparts against Trump and refuses to be part of a showing of The Post at the Trump White House.

Like the Olympic snow bunny who took a Brody last week after say that she will not represent Trump in Seoul, was as good as her word.  Captain Phillips will not be taking Wilson to the White House.

Here on Chicago's sandbags and barbed wire, Bruce Dold and Tom McNamee have planted their ink wells - like their master Rahm Emanuel: No Trump Here!

Voila!

Chicago Tribune - Triumphant Trump celebrates tax win — but some fear backlash

Chicago Sun TimesTriumphant Trump celebrates tax win, but some fear backlash

With one grammatical shift - the words are identical, as are the authors of said piece: Stephen Ohlemacher and Marcy Gordon | Associated Press

Cut and Paste, approved memes, pre-caste narratives and thin-gruel opines from lightweights like Neil Steinberg, Lynn Sweet, Steve Chapman, Rex Hupke and  Mary Schmich are what has replaced Nick Von Hoffman, Ray Coffey. Dorothy Collins and Mike Royko, in this hick burg.

When the shelling is over, let me know how Tom Hanks' new flicker is doing at the box office.

Trump: Strong bands, if bands ungrateful men could tie.

Hey, he says what we all feel!

I get Trump, the Yin to Hillary Clinton's Yang, and I can do nicely with out him.: " A name to all succeeding ages curst./For close designs, and crooked counsels fit."

Voter anger is real.  Anger untempered by thought, based upon shared truth is rage and rage only works in Jerry Bruckheimer movie epics, or Mad Max reconfigurations.

Trump reminds me historical persons like Earl of Shaftesbury in King Charles II's court, the odious Thomas Boleyn who pimped out his children for merry old King Henry VIII and an Italian school teacher turned journalist after the First World War.

Mostly, I am reminded of John Dryden's portrayal of Shaftsbury from his 17th Century mock epic Absalom and Achitophel. The poem is splendid example of quality hack work and was no doubt commissioned by King Charles, when his enemies introduced the Exclusion Bill, " which would keep the Catholic James from the throne, using Charles’s illegitimate son, the duke of Monmouth, a puppet of Shaftesbury, as a possible claimant to the throne. Although the bill passed in the Commons, it was rejected by the Lords because of the king’s strong opposition."

Shaftsbury, like Trump, was a skilled political hater.

Some had in courts been great, and thrown from thence,
Like fiends, were harden'd in impenitence.
Some by their monarch's fatal mercy grown,
From pardon'd rebels, kinsmen to the throne;
Were rais'd in pow'r and public office high;
Strong bands, if bands ungrateful men could tie.
Of these the false Achitophel was first:
A name to all succeeding ages curst.
For close designs, and crooked counsels fit;
Sagacious, bold and turbulent of wit:
Restless, unfixt in principles and place;
In pow'r unpleas'd, impatient of disgrace.
A fiery soul, which working out its way,
Fretted the pigmy-body to decay:
And o'er inform'd the tenement of clay.
A daring pilot in extremity;
Pleas'd with the danger, when the waves went high
He sought the storms; but for a calm unfit,
Would steer too nigh the sands, to boast his wit.
Great wits are sure to madness near alli'd;
And thin partitions do their bounds divide:
Else, why should he, with wealth and honour blest,
Refuse his age the needful hours of rest?
Punish a body which he could not please;
Bankrupt of life, yet prodigal of ease?
And all to leave, what with his toil he won
To that unfeather'd, two-legg'd thing, a son:
Got, while his soul did huddled notions try;
And born a shapeless lump, like anarchy.
In friendship false, implacable in hate:
Resolv'd to ruin or to rule the state.   John Dryden

I was saddened to read about Trump Mask anti-Mexican nonsense between Gary Andrean Catholic High School and Bishop Noll Institute.    Giving the media any ammo to pick at scabs, or trump-up divisive rage is bad enough, but giving a black eye to two very fine Catholic schools is galling - all over the misplaced notion that Trump will do anything for anyone.

Really good people tell me that America needs Trump.

These same people shouted at me that America needed Obama.

America needs to read something besides Talking Points Memo, the New York Times and listening NPR who are as much responsible for Trump, as they are for Hillary Clinton.

. . . . In friendship false, implacable in hate:
Resolv'd to ruin or to rule the state.

Chicago Tribune Stephen Chapman - An Homage to Moloch and Planned Parenthood

Image result for stephen chapman chicago tribune

"“I remember distinctly an image of--we were sitting on his couches, and I was looking at his pant leg and his perfectly creased pant,” Brooks says, “and I’m thinking, a) he’s going to be president and b) he’ll be a very good president.”  (David Brooks)

And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the sons of Hinnom, that no one might burn his son or his daughter as an offering to Moloch” (2 Kings 23:10).

Stephen Chapman wants to put an immediate stop to this ancient vandalism and maintain his 'moral authority' with an homage to Moloch.  He wants to shame people who hate abortion away from casting a vote for Trump and say, " I'm With HRC!"  Moloch's girl.

Stephen Chapman and David Brooks are used by oleaginous news outlets to give the dodge of " The  conservative voice in our Progressive megaphone."

David Brooks is a national joke, with a national (government run) bullhorn on National Public Radio, Public Television in sync with his handlers at the Washington Post. You might call him Meiman Marcus brand of faux conservative.

Stephen Chapman who kind of looks like David Brooks, 'in distress,' to borrow from Joseph Heller's characterization of the cowardly and inconsequential Major Major Major in Catch 22, but there the resemblance ends.  Stephen Chapman is the Dollar $tore brand of faux conservative.

Brooks is subtle and Chapman is flatulence at a crowded Mass, on  an Easter Sunday.

Today, Stephen Chapman goes cautionary caustic.

For conservatives, abortion has become the last resort in rationalizing a vote for Trump. If Hillary Clinton makes one or more Supreme Court appointments, they believe, the chance of overturning its abortion decisions will be gone, perhaps for good. Trump, by contrast, has promised to name conservative justices, defund Planned Parenthood and ban partial-birth abortion.
But the pro-lifers' allegiance to Trump requires a huge leap of faith. In the first place, why do they trust that he'd keep his word? In the 1990s, he described himself as "very pro-choice." This year, asked about abortion, he said, "At this moment, the laws are set. And I think we have to leave it that way."
Really Stephen? Paraphrase Lord Acton's dictum concerning patriotism and scounrdels? Pro Lifers are anti-abortion, Stephen.  That is it.

Voting for the only carbon foot-print sprinting for the Oval Office to oppose abortion is not pretzel logic as Chapman oozes.  We are well aware of Donald Trump's huckstering on Life.  Life, Liberty and the Pursuit ( not the guarantee) of Happiness are what this country is all about and First Principles matter. If you are Okay with Abortion, anything else is fair game.

A vote for Trump is a betrayal of those values. He embodies every toxic force in the culture that pro-lifers hope to overcome. He is, by his very nature, not their friend.
By making excuses for him and his malignant character, they are trading their moral authority, credibility and integrity for uncertain, short-term considerations. With that, they are dooming everything they cherish.
"A vote for Trump is a betrayal of those values."  Really? Let's support red-eyed abortionists and maintain our 'moral authority?'  Jesus Christ on a crutch, Chapman, you one serious drivel merchant.

"By making excuses for him and his malignant character, they are trading their moral authority, credibility and integrity for uncertain, short-term considerations. With that, they are dooming everything they cherish."  Apples and lug nuts Stephen, old son!

Abortions is evil. Vote against abortion.

Trump might, more than might, be the biggest boor, the nastiest sexist, xenphobic blowhard between the coasts, but he is not for abortion.

If Trump tongue kissed Jake Tapper and goosed Mika Brezinski on the same green room couch with the cameras running, he is still not for abortion.  Hillary Clinton, CNN,the Chicago Tribune, the MSNBC clown car, all of the networks, and most of news outlets forget Dr. Kermit Gosnell, described in one newspaper account as "elegant,*" is Planned Parenthood in drag.  Tim Kaine is Okay with that.

Life trumps, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Hillary Clinton, like Medea, has no prblem with the slaughter of the innocent in the womb, or in Libya, Syria, the Gulf, or K Street.

The Alliance with Moloch** ( Roe v. Wade) is the breakwater event that marks this nation's decline - if we will not defend the unborn, we will not fight to preserve anything, especially our Liberty and pursuit of happiness. Abortion is all about being a woman, according to its advocates.  No Life; no liberty and no pursuit of happiness to the inconvenient innocents.

America has been an Unhappy country since 1973 and self-medicated on the drug of political policy.

Stephen Chapman's lame attempt to shame  foes of abortion away from the only vote for Life is shameful - even for a Dollar $tore Dave Brooks.

* The Associated Press 'scrubbed' all traces of Mary Claire Dale's monstrously Goebbels-like report of Gosnell's day in court.

**Moloch, also spelled Molech, a Canaanite deity associated in biblical sources with the practice of child sacrifice. The name derives from combining the consonants of the Hebrew melech (“king”) with the vowels of boshet (“shame”), the latter often being used in the Old Testament as a variant name for the popular god Baal (“Lord”).

Madman Trump Nearly, Well Almost Nearly, Doesn't Do Something!

I was shocked, outraged, incesned, vexed and very nearly driven to rile this morning when both Chicago dailys blasted these headlines:

Trump moved to fire Mueller in June, bringing White House counsel to brink of resignation!  Chicago Tribune

Trump ordered Mueller Fired, But White House Counsel Threatened to Quit!  Chicago Sun Times

You see Robert Mueller is the John Kerry impersonator and Special Russian Collusion Prosecutor and who is going to give President Trump a long over due and well earned chide and come-uppance.

The smartest people like David Brooks and his minion E.J. Dionne predict a that President 45 might endure the humilitation of being taken down a peg.

Most expect a culpatory dressing down.
