This Friday night, an incoming freshman to Leo High School was slain thanks to this collective handiwork by the Lawsuit Lotto Lawyers.  On Sunday G. Flint Taylor was given another editorial page perch in the Chicago Sun Times to pound out more Burge Mythology in order to gain him more clients and out of court settlement jackpots.
G. Flint Taylor has failed to prove that Chicago Police Officers tortured anyone; yet, Burge remains Chicago's Burge -ie Man and killings pile up higher than unclaimed corpses in Toni Preckwinkle's morgue.


  

Chicago police said Antonio Davis, 14, was shot and killed Friday night near 69th and Union around 8:40 p.m.A day later, a 13-year-old boy was shot and killed in the 6200-block of South Rhodes. Neighbors said there was a large party at the home where the boy was shot that spilled into the street.
Also, a 14-year-old and 15-year-old are recovering from being shot while playing basketball near their home Saturday night. It happened around 8:43pm in the 2400-block of East 74th Street. The two victims were playing when a gunman approached on foot and opened fire, striking the two.
Davis' family said he was an A and B student at Leo High School and had dreams of becoming a basketball player.
"I just know that he was walking to the store to get my niece's baby water and a car pulled up and jumped out at him and shot him" said Davis' aunt, Latrice Strong

Today, Police Torture that now includes, any form of interrogation hit the Illinoi Supreme Court, which vote 6-o in complete agreement with popular opinion.

The court’s 6-0 decision represented another milestone in the long-running saga of Burge and his crew of officers, who repeatedly have been accused of torturing African-American suspects in the 1970s and 1980s at a South Side police station.

Defense attorneys had feared that any break in the court’s tough stance would lead to the kind of abuse seen during Burge*’s tenure. Prosecutors had hoped that the court would issue a ruling allowing them to use tainted confessions when the other evidence against a suspect was overwhelming.

“We believe that this type of coercion by the state ...constitutes an egregious violation of an underlying principle of our criminal justice system...” the court wrote.

The vote in the case was 6-0 because Justice Robert Thomas did not take part in the case.

Here's aquestion for the court - when has any cop ( Burge, Beavers, or Brezyak) been convicted of torture?

City Council Unanimously Votes Ban On Torture -Another Meaningless Bit of Self-Puffery by 50 Needy People

This morning, Chicago Tribune's opinion page featured another in the endless shower of Police Torture screeds. This was written by Bendictine Sister Benita Coffey and has all of the value of a Confederate $100 Bill.

Here is a taste:

Last week, the Chicago City Council unanimously passed a resolution against torture, a symbolic act, at best. Torture is inhumane, banned by the United Nations and most civilized nations, and is contrary to the core beliefs of the world's major religions.

So why are the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, the Illinois Coalition Against Torture and religious communities like mine lauding this as a historic event? We shouldn't have had to ask our elected officials to pass legislation proscribing torture. It seems to be basic common sense, instinctive human behavior to abhor torture. To inflict cruel and inhuman treatment is beneath us as human beings.

While applauding our city's leaders for making Chicago the first city in the nation to condemn torture, we are certainly not seeing our goal anywhere near being accomplished. This is one deliberate and necessary step. It will indeed be a long road to raise the consciousness of the general public that torture is a reality; it is happening and likely will continue until we demand that it stop.

If memory serves, Sister, Jesus joined no Coalition. Plenty of torture going around, his cousin got himself beheaded and all, but Jesus never signed up with the Sicarri, or Zealots, in their Coalition Against The Stooge Puppet King Herod and Roman Imperialists Masters and Crucifiers. Like Free Mumia, I recall that the crowd that demanded Jesus get a tune-up by the cohort prior to crucifixion, demanded Free Barabbas! Now, those folks were committed activists, Sister.

Sister decries the fact that the media paid not enough attention to her and the various coalitions. Sister, we have more Coalitions than Mount Carmel has football championship trophies and yet kids are murdered with impunity because lawyers get fat overturning convictions on meme that police torture, lie, intimidate and use saracasm.

The day also presented the opportunity for us to address another type of torture — prolonged solitary confinement. In Illinois, the Tamms Correctional Center is a supermax facility that incarcerates inmates in solitary confinement, often for months or years at a time, which mental health professionals define as torture. Here in Chicago, to our shame, former Chicago police Cmdr. Jon Burge and officers under him tortured some 200 suspects to the point of confessing to crimes they did not commit. These victims were imprisoned while most of those who tortured, except Burge, who was convicted of a related crime, remain free.

Mental Health professionals? Incarceration of crazy thugs is torture - health care provided, educational opportunities abound, legal access to Lawsuit Lotto Lawyers, no to mention shelter, meals, and wardrobe; unlike the victims of these thugs, incarcerated under dirt until Judgement Day.

Sister Benita brings it home to Council and the Coalitions -This resolution declaring Chicago a torture-free city is a momentous occasion. We can be proud that our City Council can be called on to stand by its word and demand accountability if such violent treatment should ever again occur.

Sorry Sister, this is but another sanctimoniously meaningless bit of self-puffering from 50 people doing nothing meaningful, Sister.

Jon Burge was convicted of perjury after years of media bear-baiting and legal legerdemain.

G. Flint Taylor and legions of other fatuous opportunists have made fortunes by playing media, do-gooders and generations of young people completely unaquainted with the facts of the murders, arrests, convictions and subsequent judge shopping by Peoples Law Office, MacArthur Center for Justice, Loevy & Loevy.

There has been absolutely no proof of torture - hundreds of allegations and millions of dollars in payouts -but not one win in G.Flint Taylor's column.

Jon Burge was trapped in a legal maze created by time, judge shopping, media complicity and collective memory loss.

When torture appears, deal with it. That has yet to be proven. Truth is not something "We Can All Agree Upon." That is John Dewey.

There is much to pray for, Sister. Good people are up to their elbows helping young people read, write, add and subtract and somehow know that other people want to help them without lining their own pockets.

Praising a hollow and popular gesture like this means nothing and actually keeps the problems on our streets more than healthy. By the way, schools need teachers. I have not seen a nun here at Leo High School, in the heart Chicago's killing fields, in years. Facta Non Verba.

Chicago Police Officers - Targets of Savages and Clever Lawyers

In jsut a matter of a few weeks, three Chicago Police Officers have been murdered in Chicago's Thug Comfort Zone. Savages murder with impunity because they can.

Veteran Chicago Police Officer Michael Bailey follows the rookie Chicago Police Officer Thomas Wortham IV and veteran Chicago Police Officer Thor Soderberg to the grave because there is no fear of the law and none whatsoever of Law Enforcement.

I plan to examine the the rise of Loevy and Loevy law firm which specializes in suing Law Enforcement and Chicago Police Officers in particular. Loevy and Loevy is a nitch industry that targets police officers. Thugs can target police officers and rest assured that will find sharp, service-oriented attornies ready, will and able to advocate their suits with the full power of every columnist and editorial board trying their case in the court of public opinion. Police officers are on their own.

I will be talking to John Flood, for whom Arthur Loevy once worked. John Flood is a celebarted police officer and police labor leader*.

Jon Loevy, it seems to me, learned how to target police officers and sue cities, townships and counties from his father - one-time labor lawyer and powerhouse Arthur Loevy.

This, to me, is a public safety issue.



*John J. Flood Biography

John J. Flood, a seasoned veteran of police work, is the founder of the Combined Counties Police Association, one of the most well-known and respected independent law enforcement unions ever formed in the United States.

An established and recognized crime fighter and authority on the La Cosa Nostra and the Chicago Outfit, Flood was an associate of the late FBI agent and author Bill Roemer. Flood advised Roemer on much of the information on the mob that was used in his many books.

Mr. Flood is recognized by his peers to be one of the foremost experts on organized crime, syndicate gambling, and vice activities in Illinois and nationally. His career began as a patrol officer in the Wheeling Police Department after three years in the US Army. Two years later, he submitted his application to the Cook County Police Department. The stirrings of law enforcement reform within the Sheriff’s Police were taking place. The Department was going through major reorganization of historic note.

Flood caught one of two "hit cars" ever taken down in the history of Chicago where he was almost murdered. Flood's police background was in his blood. His father, John T. Flood, was a First Grade New York City Detective, serving 30 years. He was very familiar with Organized Crime activities in the City of New York, information he passed on to his son. John was brought up on the mean streets of the Bronx, New York, where you ended up either good or bad. He served in the US Army, remaining in Chicago after receiving an Honorable Discharge at For Sheridan, Illinois.

Cook County voters had just elected a man of character and integrity to the Office of Cook County Sheriff. That man was Richard B. Ogilvie, who had successfully prosecuted nationally known mob Chieftain Tony Accardo and six years later became Governor of Illinois. Ogilvie committed his regime to ending influence peddling, political corruption, and the menacing vice grip of organized crime in Cook County. To these ends, it was necessary to select a cadre of elite police officers who were above reproach -- men of courage and sterling character who would be guided by their conscience and committed to Sheriff Ogilvie's agenda for historic change. One such man was the youthful but aggressive Flood. He led many gambling raids into syndicate-infiltrated suburbs and particularly the Town of Cicero, a stronghold of organized crime since the days of Al Capone.

Flood's work earned the highest praise from his fellow officers and the Ogilvie's administration. The Chicago Crime Commission cited him in several of their yearly reports for his arrests of organized crime figures.

Flood was promoted to Supervisor-in-Charge of Vice for the Northern half of Cook County. He was the youngest officer to hold down such a sensitive post. In this capacity he participated in, and supervised numerous gambling raids countywide. He was quickly familiarized with the inner workings of organized crime, particularly as it related to illegal bookmaking, wire rooms, and card games. Chicago Police officers whom Ogilvie had handpicked for their street ability and knowledge of organized crime to unleash reform imparted their exclusive knowledge and guided him.

Flood was next appointed to Supervisor-in-Charge of the Detective Section for the northern half of Cook County and was subsequently assigned as the Supervisor-in-Charge of the Criminal Indictment Warrant and Fugitive Section at the Criminal Courts Building, 2600 S. California Ave. During these years, Flood continued to zero in on syndicate hoodlums and their criminal activity with little regard for his own personal safety. Simply collecting a paycheck and marking time -- fine for some police officers -- was never John Flood's personal style.

Frustrated by the administrative bureaucracy and high level corruption that continued to permeate the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department, and the patent disregard for the rights of the street cops he so dearly loved, John Flood decided it was time to enact meaningful change in to police departments. He and other police officers formed the Cook County Police Association (renamed the Combined Counties Police Association in later years), to serve as the collective bargaining agent for police officers. Their actions and activities made law enforcement history.

Until John Flood established CCPA there had never been a true police union in Illinois. No one with the courage of his or her convictions had dared speak out before. He was the pioneer and led the way. He laid the foundation for rights and job benefits that at one time were unheard of in the police profession. He led more job actions by police officers than any other law enforcement union leader in the United States. All of the salary benefits enjoyed by officers today were initiated by the police union – that was known to every political official as “Flood’s union”

Following a highly successful and publicized police strike in the Town of Cicero, the fledgling union negotiated a series of ground-breaking collective bargaining agreements for police officers in the State of Illinois. Mr. Flood's personal leadership, charisma and the courage to shine the spotlight on wrongdoing in high places, established as a man for the times.

In recognition of this fact, Mr. Flood has received numerous commendations and appointments, including the Illinois Attorney General's Law Enforcement Advisory Committee, and the Illinois Law Enforcement Commission. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Crime Commission and is a member of the Illinois Academy of Criminology. Mr. Flood has spoken at numerous universities, symposiums, and labor relations seminars across the United States and was honored by the Emerald Society of Illinois as the 1994 "Police Officer of the Year."

St. Thomas More -Patron Saint of Lawyers: Tommy Do 'Something' With Them, Please?

Lawyers are like people - sort of. There are very good lawyers, very bad lawyers and lawyers who sleep walk.

I have been especially hard on some lawyers like Jon Loevy and G. Flint Taylor, because I believe that their talents, actions and desires have helped create a City where 62 people can be shot between Friday and Tuesday. These two gents in particular have so undermined public faith in Justice that a Thug Comfort Zone has been created.

Some lawyers work for that magic 30% + the billable hours. To me they are like the school teachers. Catholic schools and private schools have the distinction of launching bad, lazy and ineffective teachers. Public schools do not have that legal right, due to the power public salaried unions and gutless politicians.

Remember, not all politicians are lawyers.

I know great Lawyers who work like priests and monks - they want the best for people and not just their paying clients - Joe Powers, Christine Flowers, Tamara Holder, Lisa Madigan, Margaret McGann, Judge and former Alderman Tom Murphy, former States Attorney Tisa Morris* -a heroic black woman, Mike Buck, Mike Joyce,Dan Barry, Larry Rogers - Dad and Lad, Dan Kelley, Burt Odleson, Mike Cleary, Judge John Michela of Kankakee, Illinois Chief Justice Tom Fitzgerald, Jack Donahue, Judge Louis Fontenot, Judge Bill Phelan, Ed Vogt, Mike Brennan, Stephan Karparski, Mike Monico and the late E. He attracted the attention of Henry VIII who appointed him to a succession of high posts and missions, and finally made him Lord Chancellor in 1529. However, he resigned in 1532, at the height of his career and reputation, when Henry persisted in holding his own opinions regarding marriage and the supremacy of the Pope. The rest of his life was spent in writing mostly in defense of the Church. In 1534, with his close friend, St. John Fisher, he refused to render allegiance to the King as the Head of the Church of England and was confined to the Tower. Fifteen months later, and nine days after St. John Fisher's execution, he was tried and convicted of treason. He told the court that he could not go against his conscience and wished his judges that "we may yet hereafter in heaven merrily all meet together to everlasting salvation." And on the scaffold, he told the crowd of spectators that he was dying as "the King's good servant-but God's first." He was beheaded on July 6, 1535. His feast day is June 22nd.

Shell Games Catches up to Professor Dave Protess - Innocence?

After the student paid the cabbie, the driver recorded the transaction in his log, today's filing states. Apparently suspicious that it was a drug deal or a sting, he wrote: "detective gave me 60, told me to give him 40, gave me 60... gave him change." The "him" refers to Drakes.

Seems like Professor Dave Protess and the Kids of the Innocence Project - in the zeal to free Mr. McKinney of course - engaged in a little Pay-to-Play.

"You be a Witness to Justice , Mr. Drakes, and You Keep the Change! Change You Can Believe In!"

The Medill Empire encompasses Northwestern Law and Schools of Journalism and they work very well and nicely with the Chicago Tribune Editorial Board.

Americans love to root for Innocent Men Falsely Accused/Tortured/Disrespected/Hookwinked/Bamboozeled/Bewitched/ Bothered and Bewildered - we do, honestly we do.

However, given the thick padding American Justice gives to the accused it sometimes might be a stretch to find a really innocent man. The more Innocent men the more news it will be and the more funding for pet projects like the Innocence Project.

Every young law student harbors the dream of being this Century's Darrow - the Lawyer of the Damned. There are no Clarence Darrows. There are only the balsa wood imitations like G. Flint Taylor.

Thus, I have a tough time soiling my boxers when the Tribune fulminates against Cook County States Attorney Anita Alvarez in her rather respectful demand that Professor Dave Protess, an insulated Professor at Northwestern University whose work on behalf of career criminals looking to get out of prison has been most newsworthy and celebrated, cough up the Discovery material - it seems Professor Dave may have let it be known that grades might be attached to convictions overturned by the Kids. Professor Dave gets crowds to hush at the sound of his name - he is such an on-the-level-straight- shooting- Justice Samurai.

It sure looks like States Attorney Alvarez caught Professor Dave with his Innocence down around his ankles.

Officials with the state's attorney's office also said there could be a bias on the part of students seeking better grades by finding more witnesses.

Northwestern and its attorneys respond by saying the investigation should be treated as one conducted by journalists. They said the county already has all on-the-record information, including interviews and copies of audio and video tapes.

I wonder if Judge Stinky Sarokin will continue treating us with his Cook County States Gestapo pieces.

I had the great pleasure of witnessing Tamara Holder* defend our Civil Rights on Neil Cavuto's Your World yesterday afternoon ( the Video's are unavailable at this early hour of posting -Sorry) and Ms. Holder raised questions about the White House and its attempt to 'tamp-down' anger about the very bad Health Care Reform Legislation that is being stuffed down the throats of us all, like fois gras geese.

Who Are the Protesters At DUI Cop's Home? Full Discloure Please!

The Sun Times jumped at the story fed to them by the protesters who decided to protest a civil matter at the private home of the police detective arrested and charged in the deaths of two people.

The Sun Times wants everyone to know that this a 'silent' protest. Protest against what or whom and about what?


There is bugger all little else than the beef about the cop - he is charged and has posted bail and every reporter in Chicago is climbing up his rump. This we know.

Nearly two dozen people held a silent protest Monday night outside the Bridgeport home of police detective Joseph Frugoli, according to WMAQ-Channel 5.

Some protesters said they believed that Frugoli was receiving special treatment because he is Chicago cop.

On Sunday, Cook County Judge Donald Panarese Jr. set a $500,000 bail for Frugoli, charged with killing two men in a drunken-driving accident. Some of the victims' friends and family members said the bail was too low Sunday -- a complaint echoed by protesters Monday.

Frugoli was freed on bail Sunday afternoon.

Protesters said they plan to return to the Frugoli home.

Earlier Monday, Frugoli refused to comment about his case, according to WMAQ.

Full disclosure - I think this man who happens to . . .have been a cop is suffering the pains of the damned. It appears that he was responsible for the deaths of two young men. A judge set the bail. The protesters and the Sun Times need to disappear.

John McCain served - understatement that -and continues to Honor those who serve. I support John McCain. Other Americans Honor Veterans and Servicemen and some do no such thing.

Some people, whom American men and women defend with their very lives and limbs, use American Freedoms to whatever they feel compelled to do in the name of Free Speech in order to protest the military. American Law is defended by the military and well it should be; however, a Chicago lawyer decided that he could destroy the property of an American serviceman, in order to make 'his statement' about what he believes to be an unjust war. Now, that lawyer will use the Laws, being defended by thousands of young Americans in harm's way, to avoid the costs of little protest.

Marine Sgt Mike McNulty is on activation orders to Iraq (second tour). On December 1st, 2007, Mike went to visit a friend in Chicago before deploying to say goodbye. In order to get to his friend's residence, and keep in mind that Chicago is a myriad of diagonal and one-way streets, the front entrance (right way) to the one-way street was blocked. Mike, being a Marine, overcame and adapted by driving around the block to the other end of the street and backing up all the way to his friend's place.

While saying goodbye, at about 11am, he noticed a man leaning up against his car. Mike left his friend's apartment and caught the man keying his car on multiple sides. After caught in the process, the man told Mike, "you think you can do whatever you want with Department of Defense license plates and tags". (In Illinois you can purchase veteran, Marine, or medal plates. Mike has Illinois Marine Corps license plates.) During the exchange, he made additional anti-military comments.

Mike called the Chicago police and had the man arrested. A citation against the man was issued for misdemeanor criminal damage to private property.

Protest and Civil Disobedience requires that the protester face the consequences of his statement or criminal action - unless of course that protester is an ambulance chaser.

an attorney for one of the plaintiffs had not been able to produce a power of attorney executed by his client, a form that would demonstrate he had the authority to settle the case.

That was the only correct - if not honest - part of the Chicago Tribune Editorial Board's justification of the smear series crafted by Steve Mills and his band of sycophants. Steve Mills's team make that point - avoiding the truth. Radical thinking sells papers. It seems odd that this paper's Editorial Board wants to league up with some real bad actors. I'm just a guy who reads the news and it would seem to me that any paper would want to help make this city safer by helping Police find murderers and not enrich lawsuit lawyers. But that's just me. Maybe they will wake up.

Steve Mills has made a career of being spoon fed stories and 'series' like this latest spoiled tripe out of hand by the likes of Bernardine Dohrn Ayers, G. Flint Taylor, Jon Loevy, Locke Bowman and the think tanks fueled by left-wing philanthropists. They are - it seems - a 'criminal' enterprise; it seems to me - a 501(c)3 funded charity pool of gelt feeding an overtly radical political agenda really should be given a stern look by a serious journalist. Where is RICO when you need him?

In Life's Ironic spin, Steve Mills and the MacArthur Center for Justice (MCJ) - 'Investigative Steve,' doing the scribbling and sanctimony, while the 501 (c) 3 salaried political lawyers at MCJ doled out eye droppers of tips at a time and 'solid' allegations by the pocketful - had their collective asses handed to them a few years ago when a jury tossed the charges of 'institutionalized beatings' at Cook County Jail in twenty minutes. Quicker than it takes a glutton to put away his lunch.

The Chicago Tribune Editorial Board is beating its avian chest over this new 'hard-hitting' bowl of tripe served up by the very same folks. Police Abuse allegations -real and imagined are here to stay, until the paper gets more cancellations than the Sun Times.

That is not important. What is important to all Chicagoans is the Thug Comfort Zone created by this radical leftist and cynically short-sighted agenda. The most vicious and well-armed killers in this City act without fear - they murder with impunity; safe in the knowledge that any Police interdiction will be met with howls in the press and sanctimonious hypocrisy from the ususual suburban TV newscasters.

This Confederacy of Louses is as complicit in the deaths of two fine young men - Jason Riley and Steve Lyons - both black, both male, both productive citizens and both murdered in this Thug Comfort Zone - as the gang-bangers throwing the shots.

These same Chicago Editorial Boards that screamed for Justice for the Willis children in the George Ryan Trial can now worm and squirm when some citizens - some victims' families come looking for that same Justice.
