Ed, you are the a priest right out of Cardinal George's spirit. The Church needs men like you now more than ever!<br />pathickeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01051997614374510451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8978152.post-28758204678524144282015-05-14T21:14:48.327-07:002015-05-14T21:14:48.327-07:00Thanks, Pat. The BS put forward by the media that Cardinal George lived lavishly in the magnificent mansion, while his successor lives in a simple room at the Cathedral rectory is an attack on a good and holy and brilliant Cardinal, because he taught and lived the Truth! In reality, the "simple room" at the cathedral is a lavish, beautiful suite, much more posh than the old house on North State Parkway. I don't begrudge the new archbishop living wherever he wants. This is a media creation, much like the BS about Pope Francis living so simply in a "guesthouse" rather than in the lavish palace where Benedict lived. Hogwash! The Apostolic Palace is an old, timeworn building with an apartment for the Pope which is not really very posh. And the new Pope has now taken a whole floor of the Sancta Martha Hotel, costing the Vatican far more than if he were living in the traditional papal apartment. Again, not to pin this on Pope Francis. It is a media creation. I enjoy your blog very much. I was at St. Cajetan's two weeks ago and preached at the 4 pm mass which was offered for Tom Hopkins. It was great to be back to the place where my priesthood was planted. Thanks, Fr.
